We live in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and have dined internationally. This is a fabulous restaurant which could hold its own in Chicago, NYC, or any major city. Charming ambiance, excellent food and wine. Our server Jason was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The crab cakes and pecan coated trout were sublime and the homemade lemon pie to die for. Highly recommended!

Savannah Koehler

Google
Fantastic service by Jason. All of the staff was very nice! Food was delicious! So glad we chose to have our date night here. We will definitely be back!

Table 14 is a 5 star experience from beginning to end. We were greeted by a lovely hostess and seated at our favorite spot-the bar. Courtney does a fantastic job as both bartender and server and all around expert at all things culinary. We have dined here many times and never had anything but a perfect meal. The only thing that matches the elevated food experience is the service. We are always greeted warmly by the owner Laura and her husband the chef. If you ever find your way to this lovely town please do yourself the favor of visiting Table 14. You will NOT be disappointed!

Sara Stevens

Google
Absolutely fabulous experience. Courtney at the bar is amazing! Best Martini ever!!! We had the duck and shrimp and grits, both were 10/10. If you’re in town… definitely check this place out. And honestly, get a bar seat! Courtney made us feel so welcome and had great conversation, great asset to Table 14

My husband and I went here for our anniversary (not our first time eating here). It was my first time out in 5 months after having our daughter. We both ordered the filet medium well. Both came out encased with an incredibly thick hard black char. You could barely cut through it and it tasted like you were licking an old grill grate. When the waitress came over she saw that they were not done properly and immediately talked to the manager/owner without us even bringing it up. The person in charge then preceded to come over and ask what was wrong and made a huge scene. It was ridiculous, uncalled for and horrible.

M Christl

Google
Really enjoyed our meal here. Wonderful service. Beautifully presented "small plates" can certainly make a lovely meal of these! No tiny crabcake here! She crab soup was very good. Come casual or a little dressy. If you are into bourbon, great selection.

Clarence Wong

Google
We were beyond disappointed. Two of us ordered the crab cake, pork belly, scallops and shrimp & grits. The seafood ingredients are good quality, fresh and good size and generous portions. But for a supposedly top notch eatery, the sauces lacked flavor and complexity. The pork belly, while well seared, tasted bland and bristly. The shrimp and grits came in a heavy tomato based sauce that tasted dull and salty. Of the 4 dishes we ordered, 3 came with grits. I like grits but I didn't come to a fancy eatery to fill up on heavy carbs. The final straw was how overpriced the menu is. Two of us with 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 1 glass of wine, no dessert and no coffee, paid almost $150.

Google
We ordered the she-crab soup (very good) and crabcake (good but small) as our appetizer. Entree’s were shrimp & grits and fried chicken. The shrimp & grits were ok but I wouldn’t order again. The grits were almost in a soupy texture and not a lot of flavor unfortunately. The fried chicken entree was delicious. The gravy was perfect and the green beans had a great smoked flavor to them. We ordered extra gravy for an additional cost but worth it. Service was really good as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Ludington is fortunate to have this kind of eating establishment in town. We ordered the duck and the shrimp and grits. Both were delicious. Service was solid. Ambience is very relaxed yet a bit elegant. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
We spent our last meal in Ludington at Table 14. We didn't have reservations, but they gave us a large table for 6, near the window. It had a nice warm, and classy feel, that matched the quality of low country cuisine from Charleston. South Carolina, where the owners lived. We started with Brie and Chutney, which was amazing. Then we shared a Whiskey Soaked New York Strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans with bacon. A bit disappointed with the quality of the steak, but the sauce was great. Service was professional, and well timed.

Yelp
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The crab cakes were amazing! Best dirty martini too. Great option if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Ludington.

Heather B.

Yelp
Excellent meal and service. I wasn't expecting such good and creative food. The staff were very attentive and accommodating

Yelp
I hate to oversell this but it might be one of the best restaurants I've ever been too. Everything was over the top incredible from the crab soup starter to both desserts that were ordered; crème brûlée and blueberry cobbler. Mussels were phenomenal, absolutely had to share that fact. Service was ideal and the ambiance was cozy. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time!

Yelp
The dirty espresso martini is TRANSCENDENT. Courtney the bartender is a genuine delight. The owner, Laura, (women owned business!!!) is so personable and lovely. Their specials are always fabulous but the lobster salad is is MUST HAVE!!! Best spot in town.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Naan Bread with Pulled Pork, onion bacon jam, smoked Gouda and apple cider honey glaze. Tasted awesome - nice size for a small dinner. Atmosphere was nice and service was great!

Natasha P.

Yelp
What a wonderful find! We were visiting town and came across all the great reviews on Yelp on this gem. Food, service and drinks were great! Forgot to take pictures before we all dug in, but entree choices were Filet with port wine sauce, shrimp and grits, chicken fried chicken, and the salmon. All were excellent. Service was wonderful, Amanda really took care of us and we'd love to go back if we are ever back in town!

Russ H.

Yelp
#1 reservations ONLY! Yes, it's that good! A small venue with only 13 tables (ie Table 14 but they removed 1 table since opening). Excellent cocktails and delicious food. Southern flair as the owners are locals but lived in SC for a while and bright the flavors with them!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Upscale atmosphere and menu. Good service and food well prepared and presented. Would go back. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We have been to this place 4 times. We have hoped every time we vacation in Ludington that they will get it right. I hate to give a negative review after one visit, even though our first visit was a disaster. We ordered a bottle of wine which my husband chose for my birthday. When the server arrived with the wine it was not what we ordered. The hostess( owner) popped over to tell us it was " just as good". Not ok. We know wine. This place charges exorbitantly for what they serve. The sides are risotto or potatoes. The greens are overcooked and under seasoned. All the " southern" sauces are over sweet and frankly unpalatable. But the worst part is the service. The servers seam totally stressed out, if you ask questions or for any substitutions they freak out. The hostess especially is incredibly rude and condescending. Bottom line is you don't get what you pay for here.

Teresa K C.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The Crabby Chips are to die for! And some of the best Filet Mignon I've ever had. Small dining area, which was nice. Service was wonderful.

William W.

Yelp
Best place in Ludington. Just great homemade dining experience. Remember to get your reservations in. Great servers and the best mixologist in town
google avatar

Yelp
We enjoyed a delightful dinner, starting off with a couple of old fashions. Our appetizer was delicious! 2 black angus steaks were the perfect entre!

Yelp
I'm not a 5 star person, however here it is. Simple tasteful food, personable service and a nice atmosphere make this underrated location fantastic. Buttermilk fried chicken, good. Mashed potatoes creamy, garlicky, and well seasoned, very good. The collard greens, sweet, flavorful, authentic, and perfect, excellent. All this matched with a worthy wine list, great cocktails and excellent service make it worth every penny. The desserts top everything off !! Well done again. Keep it up!!!

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner tonight. Lovely host and server. We always enjoy our food when we come. Happy to have such a delicious place to enjoy for a quiet anniversary date.

Yelp
Table 14 has quickly become my fiancé and I's favorite restaurant in Ludington. The first time I visited, I got the salmon and risotto which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The most recent time I visited, I got the gnocchi dish and it was to DIE FOR. We were told it's typically seasonal and was originally a special but was so popular they kept it on the menu. Absolutely delicious. Service was great each time, as were the drinks. I would definitely suggest getting a reservation since the space is limited.

Yelp
Came in Saturday eve having driven through all manner of snow squalls and attendant delights from chicago. Two of us had the candied pork belly appetizer, then the Carolina sweet tea duck and the red beans and rice with shrimp with a bottle of Côtes du Rhône. All were superb, service was personal and attentive wo being overbearing. Visits from both owners. The choco mousse was okay but needs higher cacao content to balance out the raspberry. Gracious surroundings, a lot of blue music but not too loud. Highly recommend, class and service all the way.
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
Have had better experiences here. They are very strict about no substitutions and the majority of the menu is served with risotto which severely limits your options when you don't eat rice. The ahi tuna steak was fine. Served a bit cold. I get that it's sushi grade tuna, but it's normally warm. The balsamic glaze was overpowering and the portobello mushrooms were nearly inedible. My husband's red beans and rice was better. Good balance of spices. Cocktails were good.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in for brunch with some friends and we had an absolute blast! The food, atmosphere and drinks were perfect for relaxing on a chilly Sunday in Michigan. You can't miss this cozy spot with South Carolina's flag flapping proudly over the front door. The decor is understated with a bit of southern flair. Standouts of the meal included the shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles and bloody marys. Everything was made to order and came out hot and beautifully plated. The dinner menu also looked great so stand by for a follow up review which I'm sure will be glowing.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent wine choices with quality food. Service is friendly but not pushy. The duck was. Flavorful and moist.
google avatar

Malisa R.

Yelp
Located in downtown Ludington. Great corner location with a patio. We ordered the sherry crab bisque, blackened salmon sandwich, and a ceasar salad. The food was incredible! I love the crab bisque. Yummy!!!

Yelp
I wish I had skipped this restaurant during my trip to Ludington. I spent twice as much money and enjoyed the food half as well as any other meal. I had to skip dessert because every course was worse than I expected. By the time dessert rolled around, I had caught on to the scam this place is running.
google avatar

Lydia L.

Yelp
The food was decent, and they accommodated us on a holiday weekend at the last minute, outside, with no problem. Service was lacking. We (2-top) we're sitting for a half hour to 45 minutes before they took our order, while a 6-top top came in after us, also on the patio, and had drinks and appetizers sooner, and were eating faster than we were. We probably won't be back.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Was impressed with the food and service when we were finally able to get here and try it! Definitely need a reservation for this smaller place, and highly recommend sitting inside- higher class establishment with a impressive menu. The service was pretty good and the food was great. We tried the pork belly to start and I had the duck, which was good. The chocolate mousse for dessert was better than average!
google avatar

Darlene M.

Yelp
Very elegant restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We had red beans and rice and Fried Catfish with Smoked Gouda cheese Grits and green beans flavors were delicious. Friendly staff

Gabrielle P.

Yelp
Upscale restaurant with good food and great service. Keep in mind their menu changes often. The dish that stood out to me was the crab cake appetizer and shrimp & grits. I got the sweet-potato-pecan-bacon-gnocchi and that was the worst dish of the night. I saw some other reviewers saying that they loved it but it really just wasn't IT for us. First of all, the menu description wrote bacon as the second or third word so I assumed there would be a pretty good amount of bacon but there was HARDLY ANY. So disappointing. It was little crumbles that were really hard to find throughout. Second of all, the gnocchi had cheese in the middle which made it so that it was SO sticky and the worst gnocchi I've had in my life. It was sticking to the roof of my mouth, I couldn't finish the whole bowl of it. The sweet roasted pecans were the best part of the dish. If I would've known how bad it was I would've gotten the crab cake entree/main course instead. Regarding the mussels, the sauce was very good but the mussels themselves didn't taste that fresh so it's a no from me. Pecan dessert with vanilla ice cream tasted all right but I wasn't wowed. The salad was perfect. The shrimp and grits had a lovely sauce with good spices and overall just a well done dish. Duck breast was okay, nothing special. Would come back again.

Yelp
I'm dismayed that in my previous visits here I've failed to recognize the international symbol for fine cuisine proudly flying at the entrance to this establishment. In my defense, my eyelids are generally frozen shut when I'm here. Anywhos...I had what may very well be the best dinner that I've shoved in my facehole in a very long time. So good that, after taking the first bite of the entree, I had to put the fork down, shut my eyes and just sit there for a few moments...this was not to be consumed as would Major Payne on date night. It was such perfectly crafted Lowcountry fare, that by the end of the evening I was throwing around 'y'alls' and 'bless your hearts' like Colonel Beauregard back from the War of Northern Aggression. I've already requested that they hold the same table for me tomorrow night. Seriously though...perfect experience all the way around. Called to make sure they could fit my single self in, was greeted warmly by the awesome hostess. Alecia worked with me, and was fantastic, friendly, and super knowledgeable. I had the PEI mussels to start. Enormous serving, so I restrained myself and only ate half so people wouldn't stare thinking I was a competitive eater. Can't recall what the broth was, but it could have been served on its own. Had the absolute best shrimp and grits that I've ever tried (I did finish that). Rarely order dessert, but HAD to...went with the snozzberry selection they had last night (I can't remember the name, but it was pound cake served with rum-soaked berries and fresh whipped cream). Each selection was perfect.

Yelp
We were early here, and had the place mostly to ourselves. It is a cute little place in Ludington with really only 14 tables, hence the name. My wife had the scallops and I had the calabash style fish, which included oysters and shrimp. Overall both meals were very good. Perfectly seasoned, crispy and delicious. Overall the service was very good, the drinks excellent. This is the type of place that is going to set you back, but it is worth it these days. A small menu, with made fresh everything, they type of a restaurant I want to support. We had an overall excellent experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The whitefish was undercooked and greasy with zero flavor. The buttermilk fried chicken was so over salted it was inedible. The she crab soup had been sitting so long that it got thick enough to stand a spoon in it and was lukewarm. The waitress "forgot" to put in the order for 2 of our party. We were a party of 9 and were split into 2 tables, yet we were treated as two because the waitress didn't put our order in as one ticket. One table was served appetizers while the other table waited 15 minutes for theirs. Appetizers came after the soup for the table that waited. Even though all the serving mistakes were made such as serving two forgotten dinners after everyone else was done eating, there was no attempt to make it right such as offering a free dessert. All in all bad food and bad service
google avatar

Marilyn M.

Yelp
Cute little place, upscale and great location. We didn't have reservations on a Friday night, so we sat at the bar. The bartender, Brook, was absolutely adorable. In addition to being a good bartender, she was so charming and professional. Ask for her if you stop in. Salmon was delicious, and enough for two if you are not too hungry. Beet salad was not only presented beautifully but very good as well.
google avatar

Kristie J.

Yelp
While in town visiting the in-laws, I found this amazing little spot. With a limited menu (which I prefer) I decided on the Brie and chutney app, and the salmon entree. The Brie was melt in your mouth good, with this balsamic chutney glaze and French bread: yum-o! My salmon was cooked perfectly, the asparagus which laid underneath the salmon was grilled to perfection, and don't even get me started on that risotto...the perfect cheesy & creamy consistency. If you haven't been, I highly recommend! But plan accordingly, they close at 9 (that was the only downfall- would have stay for another round and dessert but it was past 9 by that time...) Thank you for the delicious meal!
google avatar

Romil L.

Yelp
Dishes were fantastic! The owner was most cordial and inviting with a smile to her guests. The most Delightful and Upbeat server, Thomas, introduced the eye-opening menu. To start the palate were tasty appetizers: the beet salad was roasted and the pork belly called the Divine Swine was certainly heavenly. Then the delicious main meal were the Carolina Sweet Tea Duck and the special du jour veggie stuffed fish Walleye Special were accompanied by their excellent mouthwatering Creamy Parmesan Risotto. Finishing off the meal was the scrumptious Creme Brûlée and the yummy to-die-for Chocolate Decadence. After drinking the refreshing Mojito and Lychee Martini, the quenching Moscow Mules were the way to go!! Highly suggest this restaurant for a romantic getaway in Ludington, MI.

C B.

Yelp
Nice, varied menu, outdoor (and indoor) seating, friendly staff.... some things are a bit pricey but not enough to deter me. Haven't ever had room for dessert:)
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Stepped up the Ludington food game. Crabby chips need to be renamed heavenly chips. You'll have good luck if you order the duck--call it quits only after the shrimp and grits. Wine list is solid. Service is warm and inviting. Great value for the money.

Marny D.

Yelp
Excellent food from appetizer to dessert. And great service too. I highly recommend Table 14.
google avatar

Kortney D.

Yelp
I had one of the best overall restaurant experiences of my life here. Our server Thomas was extremely attentive and helpful. The cocktails we got were great. We got the naan as an appetizer, with the duck and salmon as entrees and everything was excellent. I have nothing bad to say about Table 14. Excellent food, drinks and service! I would come back to Ludington just for this place!
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
We went here as a party of 7 on a busy Saturday night. We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated immediately. Once placing our drink orders and receiving them (perhaps approximately 10 minutes later) it took a while before we were checked on to place our orders. Due to that, our meals didn't arrive until after 8pm... at which point most of us were on the verge of chewing our own arms off. Despite the wait, the food was delicious, hot, and well plated. One of the group members has some very specific dietary restrictions and our waiter was great at asking questions and then verifying things with the kitchen, which is very respectful of someone who cannot eat certain things. They were packed the whole time we were there, so it does get a bit noisy... I would prefer to visit in the summer on their patio!

Steven H.

Yelp
We visit friends who have lived in Ludington since the 1970s. Ever since discovering this place , we stop for dinner at least once each visit. Service has always been friendly and efficient. We usually get fish and it has always been properly prepared. Easy to overcook, but they always serve us flavorful and moist. This place remains a favorite.

Yelp
Ah, table 14. Should be a great place. I think it is an ok place but a place where the waitress has to assure me that she us a BLONDE has got a problem. And I am guessing it was not the waitress's fault. It was a week night in a tourist town and the chef was way below par or was not there or had gotten a better offer other then cooking my dinner. Maybe he owes Tony Soprano money and thought I was Tony. I look like Tony, kinda if you squint. Drinks were good Martini @ 12 .00 a French 75 @ 10.00 and this was sublime. We like 75's and this was good. Drinks were made by, I a not a blonde. Knows her way around a bar. Crab cake @ 16.00 crab soup @ 6.00 for a cup Duck entree @ 26.00. , duck breast cut into medallions on polenta Tuna napolean @ 28 2 x drink + 2 house wines 40.00 1 dessert and 2 coffees @ 12.00 + tax for a total 131.28 plus tip 151.28 Soup came out right away but no starter. Ok. No inquiry for 2nd drink, wine nada. Then waitress appears with crab cake in left hand and entree in right. Both together, no gee whiz, no surprise, puts both on table and vanishes. Older more experienced woman that was hostess looks and walks away. Waitress comes back flustered to apologize. I finished my crab and thought well the duck won't be hot but should work. I like duck . Surprise ! Not only cold but raw. Does not have to baked into oblivion but bleeding onto the polenta ? How much worse can it get, you may be wondering? The coffee comes out, after a long wait, they were making a fresh pot. Reeking of descaler. Someone had cleaned the coffee machine and not rinsed it. Gave the coffee back, waited some more, new coffee came out along with the non blonde disclaimer and no descaler. Creme brûlée, was good. Not great but very decent. Left a decent tip for the young lady, she would need a drink after a night like that. Sometimes timing is everything.

Yelp
The best food! We live UpNorth but we will be coming back soon! The escargot is amazing!

Liz E.

Yelp
Excellent food and service-great downtown location with a few outdoor tables for people watching. Various specials added to their regular menu keeps you coming back for more.

Adam F.

Yelp
Good but the jambalaya is in a think tomato sauce that is over powering. Ran out of the shrimp and grits too. Looked really good. Good service tho.
google avatar

Nathan U.

Yelp
We found this place because we wanted something more high end for dinner. Table 14 is primarily a meat centric restaurant and we are vegetarian. We decided to see if they could even do anything vegetarian or we would have to find another restaurant. Fortunately, they were extremely accommodating and helpful finding something good for us. The chef made us a vegetable and risotto dish that was fantastic. The risotto is a must try, and the vegetables were some of the best I've ever had in my life. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm always happy to see new places and new menus in Ludington, the town that is stuck in 1970. The decor is great and the menu looked good. I lived in South Carolina for a long time, and was ready for some familiar vibes to hit my tastebuds. However, the execution doesn't quite make it. The she-crab soup, which is supposed to be pretty rich, is over the top. The crab salad sandwich was Ok, and at least generous with the crab meat, but I'd not order it again. The service was great and very helpful. The sign outside, as noted by another reviewer was virtually illegible. I drove past the restaurant twice before I found it. I'm hoping some adjustments will be made, as I really wanted to love this place.
google avatar

Bob V.

Yelp
Great menu, good wine list, excellent food and service. We ordered the beet salad, duck, and shrimp and grits with a very nice pre dinner cocktail and a GSM to accompany the meal. Sure you would enjoy it.

Yelp
We came here for our friends anniversary. Table 14 has a classic southern country upscale feel. The bar is cherry wood and the walls are a country blue/gray with charming pictures and accents that have a southern flair. The food is Ann assortment of steak seafood and low country cuisine. They have a nice wine list and an interesting drink menu too. We ordered a French white that paired well with our fish entrees. We started with the she crab and cream of asparagus soup both were excellent. I had the salmon special while the others had shrimp and grits and two had scallops. All the dishes were excellent the scallops were correctly cooked and the shrimp and grits were both tasty and authentic. The salmon was great and the risotto sides were good too. We had key lime pie for dessert and that too was excellent overall we had an enjoyable time and very good dinner.

Christine P.

Yelp
I came here with friends on a Saturday night and we had reservations. After being seated we sat for well over 15 minutes without seeing a server, I ended up going to the bar to ask for water for our table. We came here on the hottest day ever and the restaurant didn't have any air conditioning. Our service wasn't good, but the food was absolutely delicious. We spent about 2 hours here for dinner and decided not to order desert.

Yelp
My family was searching for a place to eat near Lake Michigan mid-week and decided to take a chance on this new trendy restaurant. Located on the street corner, it was a bit tricky to find, as the sign is in a borderline unreadable font, but we managed. First, the downsides: the service was mediocre at best. The waitress didn't tell us the soup special until we asked, and we had to flag her down a few times for drink refills, even though the restaurant was almost empty (2 other tables). My brother ordered the chicken entree, which turned out to be ridiculously overpriced for the small piece of meat he was given. I'm giving 4 stars because I was very satisfied with my order. The crab cake sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It seems like they're still working out the kinks, but I see great potential in this place.
