We had a fantastic visit to Table Mountain on July 25, 2025, just a few days before the annual cable car maintenance shutdown. Visiting in winter meant the weather was a bit unpredictable, but it added to the adventure. One of our kids is afraid of heights, so hiking up wasn’t an option—but thankfully the cable car made it easy for all of us to enjoy the experience. We booked our tickets online about two hours before our visit. The cable car ride alone is worth the trip—smooth, fast, and the rotating floor gives you incredible 360° views all the way up. Once at the top, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking with easy paths to wander and plenty of photo spots. Tips: – Book tickets online ahead of time to skip the long queues. – Go early in the day when visibility is best. – Bring a light jacket—it gets windy at the top, even in summer. – Check the weather before you go; the cable car closes if it’s too windy. A must-do in Cape Town!

We had a great hiking experience - the route was fair, effortful though. We spent 4 h to get on top . The view is heartbreaking while you are walking up. At the very top you end up with passing through the cloud which is awesome feeling itself . Adorable experience! On the way down we took a cable car that took only 10 mins in total to get back to a car parking .

Amazing, Great, Phenomenal, Beautiful!! We hiked to Maclear’s beacon from the cable car station. It was an easy walk and the flowers were so beautiful.

Absolutely stunning! 🌄 Table Mountain offers breathtaking panoramic views of Cape Town, the ocean, and surrounding mountains. Even with cloudy skies, the scenery feels magical and unique. The drive and walkways are well maintained, making it easy to enjoy the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere. A must-see landmark that truly defines Cape Town’s beauty!

The slopes of Signal Hill offers breathtaking sunset views. The paths are relatively easy walking; in some areas there are loose stones / rocks, but other than that, it makes for a great sunset stress reliever stroll.

We visited the Apostle Berg Battery, a World War II defensive installation built by South Africa for the Allied Forces, perched in the mountains above Llandudno. The site consist of 3 long range 9.5" canons. Today, the site falls under the management of National Parks (SANParks) on behalf of the City of Cape Town. Sadly, it has been left to decay — unmaintained, vandalised, and stripped of the dignity it deserves. What should be a proud heritage monument has instead been neglected, a victim of mismanagement and political indifference. A tragic waste of history. Disgusting!
