I went there for a birthday dinner and it was a great time. I fell in love with the interior. The decor, lighting and music were cozy and inviting. I made my reservation online and made a note for a birthday cake/ dessert for my sister. I appreciated the fact that I didn’t have to remind them about it and it came with a candle and everything, just perfect!
On to the food, we had the sampler platter with hummus + lamb, tabule and labni, with a side of falafel. The starters were so good, flavorful and delicious. Had to slow down so I don’t get full before the mains 😂 my dinner guests also said the same.
For my main, I had the Kefta. I’m not new to Middle Eastern food so I just stuck with what I usually get. The lamb skewers were juicy and seasoned well. It was served with rice, grilled veggies and garlic sauce( my favorite condiment!). The rice was just okay, I have definitely tasted better and as someone who loves spice, I would have preferred a chilli sauce instead of hot sauce. But you know what they say, when in Rome😄 …
I had the Beirut Sangria cocktail and I’m obsessed! It was so good, I could taste the orange blossom, passion fruit juice and the Prosecco. It was refreshing with the added mint and I haven’t tried a sangria not made from red wine ( this had white) so this was a treat!
All in all, it was a great experience and I do not regret my choice. Especially because I took a leap at trying a restaurant I had never heard of or been to ( did my usual research from reviews, tiktok, 🤭etc). I would love to try their other locations downtown as well.
p.s. the ambience of this place is a major plus and will probably be back just for that reason
