My husband and I had an amazing one-night stay at Tachibana Shikitei. We did not want to leave! The room was clean, well-heated, spacious, and beautiful. Our private onsen was amazing and easy to use. There was even a fancy massage chair and all other amenities were great. We got a welcome matcha and snack, which was delicious. And dressed up in yukata for dinner! The lady who took care of us and our room was super sweet and cheery, easily communicating using the Google translate app. I want to give a huge shoutout to the vegan dinner and breakfast that was included in our stay. Not only did they cater to my vegan diet, but also the food was truly above and beyond my expectations. The vegan dishes I got comprised some of the most beautiful, delicious, and wholesome food I've ever had (hugely appreciated, especially since many other hotels don't even have vegan options). All in all, an incredible experience that was the highlight of our trip!

Coming back from my first Japan trip, I still missed Tachibana Shikitei. Room was impeccable and the staff are welcoming and really helped to elevate our experience. My wife seriously did not want to check out. Shout out to the staffs for their amazing work and hospitality. I also highly recommend taking a quick stroll through the town as well. Cute and charming shops!

Excellent service. Breakfast and dinner were as pretty as they were delicious. Extremely clean. Mika was assigned to take care of us and our room for 3 days during our stay. Thank goodness we had Google translator. The private onsen on our balcony was great. Strongly recommended this place. |Beware the shops in Kaga and at least a nearby town were closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so the whole town was quiet.

We had an amazing stay at this Ryokan. The staff are so friendly, the room was absolutely stunning, and we loved the private onsen bath on our terrace. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional. It was our honeymoon, and they made it a very special experience.

Almost everything was in tip top condition including our requests for a vegetarian dunner and breakfast for one of our friends. Perhaps a hostess more fluent in english would have been helpful but anyway she was most gracious, attentive and courteous. The amenities, food and service were really great!

We had a lovely stay at this ryokan. The seafood was some of the best we've had in Japan. The second day was even more luxurious than the first. It's worth staying an extra night just for this! My husband has strict dietary restrictions (no meat, fish, or egg). Usually, we've found that substitutions means the quality and variety of food are not great, but the chef went above and beyond. Some of his dishes were better than mine! The service was excellent. We especially loved Yukie-san who took care of everything for us. By the second morning she learned all of our preferences and made sure we felt at home. The facilities and baths are a little outdated, but the rooms are recently renovated. We loved the rotenburo (private bath) on our balcony. You can ask the front desk to adjust the temperature to your liking.

Everything was very close to perfection. The ambience and rooms were wonderful. The dinner served in room was incredible: very high japanese cuisine. The onsen (public and private) was a great relaxing pleasure. The staff was really really nice (I will never forget the wonderful woman who took care of us). Most of the staff (except in reception) was speaking only japanese, but this is normal in a ryokan and they did all they can to make us feel very comfortable anytime. I will surely return, the price - altough may seem high - is appropriate to what you get.

A great way to experience genuine Japanese hospitality in a Ryokan hotel. We came here with my folks' dear Japanese friends who booked this hotel. A Ryokan hotel is a traditional Japanese accommodation where you sleep on tatamis (mattresses) that are laid out for you on the floor. ||||This particular Ryokan was classy. The staff were extremely courteous and well-mannered. Though they hardly spoke English, they knew what we needed. We came in late in the afternoon after touring Kanazawa and it was perfect to go into the therapeutic Hot Springs. There's one for the ladies and one for the gentlemen. You go down from your rooms in your robes and disrobe in the lockers. Bathing in the hot springs is very relaxing and you can immediately feel its medicinal benefits.||||Since we were a group of 15 pax, we had our own room where we dined so well. The second night was particularly memorable when we had our Kaiseki dinner. The fish was very fresh and the meat, tender. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. The children had their own platters that were more kid-friendly.||||Whenever we would go off on a tour, the whole lobby staff would escort us out and wave us pleasantries as we went on our trip.||||Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience genuine Japanese hospitality.

Yelp
What a lovely stay at Tachibana Shikitei. This ryokan features all the traditions of a true Japanese inn, but with modern amenities. The western styled room we stayed in was very up-to-date and one of the better ryokan rooms I've stayed at before. The layout and design of the bedroom, sitting area, bathroom, and private onsen for room 506 was very impressive. The lobby area is a bit dated, but we barely spent time in the lobby. The communal bath house offered large indoor and outdoor onsens (hot springs) open 24-hours a day. A Japanese kaiseki dinner and breakfast was included during our stay. Complementary shuttle service to and from Kagaonsen Station is also offered. Ladies are choose their yukata from a vast selection in the lobby. Yukie-san who assisted us every step of our stay was gracious, energetic, and kind. She made the stay even better.
