Tacho à Mesa

We would give this 10 stars if we could. Located just off the road, this restaurant was such a find. The service was super friendly from the start, the waiters asked if we needed anything explaining (as our native language is not Portuguese). We started with the sausage croquettes and they were to die for! Lovely crunchy coating with a soft delicious centre. Then we moved onto the Cataplana … WOW! It was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The seafood was cooked to perfection and I only wish I had a bucket of the sauce. Finally, the crème brûlée was a gorgeous way to end. One last thing to note, I have a nut allergy and the staff were very helpful with informing me on all the allergens. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area, you won’t regret it.

Got in close to closing time and were relieved to be accommodated. Very very professional and friendly staff. The prawns in garlic tapas did not disappoint. Then there was a monk fish and seafood dish for two which came with an assortment of crab, mussles, shrimp, chip-chip in a beautiful rich broth with well done potatoes and onions. We then asked for the local Port which came with a 'fire drink' that literally evaporated off my tongue! Like waw!!! Honestly the best seafood meal I've ever had! Definitely worth it overall and reasonably priced!

Food is homey and delicious, far from the touristy experiences in the rest of Algarves. Staff is very accommodating and patient. Try the pork cheeks, tenderloin, fried shrimp, and octopus in a pot. Don’t be fooled by the fact there aren’t many customers on a given night. Delicious!

A restaurant full of locals. This was the best food we had in Olhao, delicious seafood, amazing service! Would strongly recommend.

We went there this evening everything was perfect food drink service and the prices few minutes from the tourist trap places well worth seeking out you won't be disappointed

When we are in Olhao, where we have our home, we often dine at this restaurant. Very good food, attentive and friendly service and a quiet atmosphere. See you in August!
