Taco Mamacita Northshore

I had a great experience at this restaurant and would definitely recommend it. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. There are two main seating areas: one indoors with air conditioning, which is ideal for hot days, and one outdoors where you can enjoy the natural breeze. Both spaces are clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. At times, we actually felt a little overwhelmed by how many people checked on us — more than three different staff members came by to ask how everything was going and if our order was okay. While it was a bit much, it clearly came from a place of care and dedication to good service, which we appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and full of flavor. The highlight for me was definitely the churros with chocolate. I honestly think they’re the best I’ve had in a long time. I wasn’t expecting them to be filled, and they came stuffed with dulce de leche, which was a wonderful surprise rich, sweet, and perfectly balanced. They also have a great 2 for 1 margarita promotion, making it an excellent spot for drinks and dessert. I’ll definitely be coming back.

So 3 years ago I would’ve never stepped foot in here. Always had bad experiences and the food was bleh. BUT came back recently and had a great time! Service was okayyyy not great but fine. Food was amazing though. Loved both tacos I got and the street corn. Sangria pitcher was really good too

We have very eagerly awaiting the reopen of Taco Mamacita’s north shore location during the remodel, and were very excited when they reopened. External factors led to me being unable to come in and enjoy a full dine-in experience tonight so instead I placed a to-go order over the phone. We had seen some prices had risen on menus posted online but figured it was worth it for the wait. We placed two different orders for the 2 tacos+ a side and an order of chips. The phone service was very thorough asking questions about sauce and utensils. The food was ready abruptly and when I went to pick it up, the inside remodel seems very well done. Upon picking up the food, I felt the total presented was a little steep. The bag was stapled however and I didn’t double check the receipt as the rush of a reopening created a hurried atmosphere. When I got home, there were no chips, and instead there was a third 2taco+ a side combo that was an exact copy of one of the other orders. Lacking was sauce and utensils which we had asked for when prompted. This explains why the price had caught me so off guard. While this is not the end of the world, and the food itself was very good, i definitely did expect more after so much work. I understand over the phone orders might be difficult to understand but I genuinely don’t know where the miscommunication was and it led to a somewhat disappointing feeling for the anticipated return of Taco Mamacita North Shore.

The service was amazing. Food was perfect. Atmosphere was so vibey and chill. The manager whose name is Trip was so kind and welcoming and gave us a few laughs. He made the experience even better than we thought possible. Definitely will be back.

We ordered catering for 110 people to serve a luncheon at the Chattanooga Zoo. Trip the manager handled all the planning and ordering with expert skill. Susie and Ian delivered and set up a large quantity of food and drinks to feed the wonderful staff at the zoo. The food was delivered hot and on time in large quantities and generous portions. Everyone was excited about the quality, taste, and presentation of all the food. Dry goods and ice were supplied at no additional charge. Thank you Trip, Susie, and Ian for making our staff luncheon a tremendous success. There were plenty of leftovers for the after-party. Great job folks!

I have been waiting anxiously for this location to open back up after being remodeled. I was NOT disappointed. The inside is beautiful and the bigger bar was totally needed! I tried the wings for the first time and they were delicious! Service was also awesome as usual. There are 2 things that I wish could be changed, but do not take away from the overall experience or stars. 1.) The parking lot is always so crowded and I had to circle around twice even though we got there 10 minutes prior to opening. 2.) I was really hoping that the Black Cadillac would be brought back after reopening, but I was disappointed to find out that it could no longer be made. The Black Cadillac was the BEST margarita in town!! Nevertheless, I will definitely be back and Taco Mamacita will once again be my go to place! Shout out to Cam!!! He's always such a vibe!!!

We’ve eaten here a few time however we haven’t had that good of an experience until we ate at the bar. Ian maybe cam were our bartenders and I think managers. It was really refreshing to have someone talk to you with a vast knowledge of what goes on in the kitchen, what they can concoct and hold a legit genuine engaging conversation. The food was on point and the experience was even better. We will certainly be back here again, when we don’t have the kids with us and we can sit at the bar that is!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Super stoked this place is back open and it looks great! What’s even better is there’s a delicious vegan chorizo and potato option for the tacos! What’s even BETTER was our server! Destiny, great freaking job! As someone who used to serve, I really appreciate when someone is top tier at their job, one of the best! Come check this place out!

We have been here several times but we went for a evening with my parents out of the blue and it was just as amazing as ever I usually get enchiladas but switched it up this time and got the half roasted chicken! Very good !!

I had lunch today with a colleague based on her recommendation. Boy was it a good recommendation. I arrived and was created by the friendliest waitress. Upon hearing it was my first time, she responded "you're in for a treat" and she was right! Based on the weather, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup with a side of plantains! Phenomenal. It came with a bowl with meat, cilantro, tomatoes, and a lime. I'm dairy-free so no cheese. Then based on recommendation from the waitress, I swapped out the soup for the vegetarian option because if it more flavorful. I haven't had the chicken stock but the vegetarian option was fire!! The plantains are the sweet kind and we're also good. Overall excellent meal and service! But note ... parking is difficult. I circled the lot a few times before finding a spot. They do save 3-4 spaces for to-go orders. So plan ahead!

Another solid dinner at taco mamacita. Korean BBQ taco is my favorite. Oy vey was just okay. My husband enjoyed his enchilada. I love we can sit and order food at the bar. Service was great as usual.

The tacos on this menu are such a fun variety! I got the 2 tacos and a side -- I was unsure if it would be enough but I was too full to finish it! The side I got was the street corn (pretty good!) and the tacos were the taco royale and the general homeboy. The chorizo was a highlight for sure! I would come here again in a heartbeat but probably try to eat there. We just got takeout but the restaurant has a real cool vibe!

Decent tacos, fast service. I was really excited to try this place, as it always seems to be busy and I had heard good things! My husband and I stopped in on a Friday night to see what it was all about. We ordered some drinks (I got a house margarita, he got a PBR + tequila shot), an appetizer sampler, and a few different tacos. I ordered the Oy Vey & General Homeboy + the green chile rice on the side, while my husband got the Hot Chicken and the Sloppy Jose + the Mexican corn on the side. My marg was pretty good - not super strong, so I used some of my husband's tequila shot to turn it up a notch. I liked the queso + salsa in the appetizer sampler; however, the guac was lacking - seemed like they may have forgotten to put lime in it? As for the tacos, they were all good, but nothing blew my mind. They had so many unique options that I figured we would leave there amazed with the flavors, but I thought the tacos were slightly lacking. I loved the atmosphere here and the service was super fast, so I definitely will come back, but I'll likely try a different order.

Food was super dried out. Service was good. Will not eat here again. Want some good Mexican? Go to Corazon de Mexico, 100 times better

We stopped here during a visit to the aquarium and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The 2 tacos + a side deal was great, we were able to get a variety of tacos to try and go the fried plantains which were excellent. Though the chips and salsa aren't complimentary, the mango salsa we got was superb, it had clearly been made fresh. I got the gringo enchiladas and they were fantastic, the brisket and sauces on top were amazing. Really great little spot!!

Food was fantastic! They have lots of space, a bar area and a fantastic Mexican ambience. Service was wonderful and I really wish I could remember the servers name to give him kudos! Their specialty Margaritas are FANTASTIC and I don't even usually like margaritas either! They have an outside seating area and pretty decent parking given it's location. Would DEFINITELY go back if I lived there!

My friend & I were in town for the weekend looking for a bite to grab since it was well past dinner time. Taco Mamacitas was AMAZING. As soon as we walked in we were met by Bob who went above & beyond, setting a great tone for the taco joint. Their portion sizes = phenomenal.. very filling yet but not in a bleh way. I got the "nacho mamas" nachos, & the dish was delicious. All the toppings were well spread out & each chip had something on it. That's a big win in my book. Their house hot sauce had a good consistency & the honey in it definitely spiced up the flavor, I wanted to take the bottle home.. We came back with a bigger group later that weekend. Everything tasted great, & were shown amazing service once again.

Service: LOUSY...worst I've experienced in Tennessee. Too much bro-brah-blah-blah amongst the wait staff. We were seated, order taken and then basically abandoned to fend for ourselves. We never received the water we requested. Sat and watched the waiter talk to a woman at the bar for the next 20 minutes. After we were finally able to flag down the guy we thought was our waiter to verify a question we had on the dish we were served, we continued to be ignored and forgotten. Eventually, when we were ready to leave we had to find someone to get the check for us. The food was sub-par for what we were expecting. The overall ambiance was ruined by the fact that the average age of the wait staff had to have been under 24 years old. It showed in their service. It showed in their dress. It showed in the guys constantly adjusting their dicks as they walked around in short shorts.

I'm being generous. I didn't receive exactly what I ordered, but ate it anyway. It was dry and average at best. Friends got nachos and they hated them. But at least we got a seat on a busy Saturday. I've been many times and get a different order each time because I've never really enjoyed what I ordered. Today's was maybe the worst (enchiladas).

This taco Mamacita place is really something, great service great food. The overall aroma and atmosphere is electric and erotic.

What taco joint doesn't offer free chips and salsa?! Server was mediocre at best. Tacos were great though.

Food was good. The distinction between which food was which was not explained but, is that on us or them? The service was horrendous, not a 100% if the staff were overwhelmed with the amount of family's that were coming in or the lack luster of managerial opportunities to fix an obvious issue. I would recommend this location for take out if you're absolutely in the need for a "taco" fix .

My wife and I recently went around 7 pm on a Saturday night and got sat immediately. I got the Peruvian chicken, plantains and green Chile rice. Chicken was moist and flavorful, and sides were considerably better than I expected. Wife got a taco bowl which was massive and she did not finish. She liked it but wished she also got the chicken. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. Server Elle was great and ambiance was very family friendly.

Tacos were toothsome, I had 2 fish tacos and they were great and side of half an avocado. Daughter had 1 fish taco. No side. Hubs had 3 carne asada tacos and enjoyed them. Nice outside patio with dogs allowed. Fans kept it nice and cool. Veggies fresh and tasty. 4 beers + one Bloody Mary. The check was a lot for a lunch, drinks were too expensive, entrees should have been cheaper, honestly. Check was $83.00 plus $15.00 tip. Almost a 100 bucks for a mall restaurant lunch, we could have had for half that somewhere else. No bueno! Probably won't be back,

Dry tasteless boring. Why spread them out with hardly any cheese? The corn and beans are a strange topping.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Chattanooga! I love the creative fusion of different cultures in the tacos, all of them are amazing. And the other choices are super flavorful and well made. The service is always great and the ambiance is super fun.

Located in the corner of the strip with several other businesses, there is a decent amount of parking. Handicapped parking is right by the entrance as well as at the end of the building. The parking lot is smooth so travel is pretty easy from the spaces to the door. Walking in there is a small podium with the host/ hostess. We were greeted immediately and taken to a booth and given menus. There is also a covered outdoor seating area. Our server came by within a few minutes and took our drink order. The drinks arrived shortly and we placed our food order. The food came out within about 10 minutes. We also ordered the salsa as an appetizer. It came out in about five minutes and seemed fresh, It's slightly chunky, with a little bit of heat. Chips were fine but nothing special. The taco choices are very interesting. I tried the Caribbean Jerk chicken and the Korean BBQ, with the green chili rice as the side. My dining partner had the Baja fish and Steakhouse tacos with Mexican street corn as the side. The tacos arrived wrapped in an aluminum foil bowl. The Caribbean Jerk was disappointing to say the least. I got a nice mango flavor, but no jerk seasoning, and certainly nothing spicy. The chicken also tasted old, with a "dusty" flavor. The Korean BBQ was fine, but nothing exciting. Both tacos fell apart before I finished eating due to the amount of liquid retained in the foil bowl from the added salsa and pickled onion. The green chili rice was a bit dry and very limited in flavor. I would not have picked out the flavor without the menu description. My dining partner was happier with the choices. The Baja fish did not have much fish, and definitely had a fishy smell, but the flavor was fine. The Steakhouse was the best of the four tried and would merit another order. The Mexican Street corn was easily the best item ordered. Flavorful and seemed freshly made. Although I commend the many different choices for tacos, the execution was less than expected. Falling apart due to excess liquid makes finishing a meal more difficult than needed.

I usually try to be very positive about restaurant reviews. We recently took a party of 16 to the newly opened Taco Mamacita at Hamilton Place to celebrate 3 adult birthdays. Our group tried several different tacos and sides. Food was good, but seemed very small portions for the price. Chips and salsa were not provided like other Mexican Restaurants and were also very small and expensive. Servers were reasonably attentive and explained the menu options well and were reasonably accommodating for this large of a group. They didn't do anything special for birthdays. A bit expensive. Restaurant was clean, fresh and inviting. They did place us on a call in list for the night we planned to come and were seated pretty promptly. Food did arrive in a timely manner. I believe they have only been open for a few weeks so will extend them some slack as they perfect their processes.

Come here if you like white liberal mexican food. There were no free chips and salsa as well, disappointing. $11 margaritas is insane. Service wasn't bad but the food took a long time to come out. The environment of the restaurant is really nice. Finally, I just want to know why there wasn't just a normal taco on the menu.

Food was bland, overpriced for what you got and charged for chips and salsa. This place sucks!

Taco Mamacitas is a decent spot for a meal and a margarita fix after shopping on Chattanooga's northside. We stopped in from the rain for a weekday lunch, and sat at their bar. Our exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable server immediately got us a couple of pretty good black Cadillac margaritas, which we followed up with skinny margaritas, which were strangely fizzy but did the trick. Lunch was fine. The queso blanco was good, alongside the thoughtful offering of vegetarian tacos (avocado, black bean, and vegetable). The salad and the vegetarian tortilla soup were appreciated, although a bit paltry. All in all, a fine spot for a quick, no-frills Tex-Mex lunch in the neighborhood.

They say the food makes the restaurant. Well they have that down. I say the food can be good but if the staff isn't, it's not a great restaurant. These guys have both! If you've never tried their Sangria or Nacho Mama, do yourself a favor and try them both. Their tacos and sides are equally yummy! If you have a wait, trust me it's worth it.

This place has such unique tacos. We love sitting outside with a cold drink and the two taco and side special. Delicious both times we've been here.

Food is the only thing good. At 1:05 in the afternoon, several waitstaff walked by numerous times and not one stopped to see if I had been helped yet. After 5 minutes I finally got to place a drink order. Server never stopped by while I was eating to see if everything was good or if I needed anything. Seems to be run by mostly college kids with no sense of how customer service in a restaurant should be. Hire new management to focus on the service. Food is good and doesn't need any changes.

Mediocre. I went to UTC and graduated in 2001. This place was here back then. So, I assumed that (over the passage of time) it was still pretty good. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. Other than a catchy name, I wouldn't say there is much to see here. Tacos were bland and not flavorful. Tasted like canned chicken meat. Kids ended up with stomach aches afterward. Service was also very slow and inattentive. Overall: Bypass this mamacita. There are better options all over Chattanooga.

Decent food, not what you would expect when it comes to Mexican! Service and environment were great and people were nice.

Everything was ok. They have vegan options but make sure you tell your server explicitly the vegan because they have vegetarian options as well and they mixed mine up. Wouldn't go out of my way but would go again if was in the area because of the convenient location

The Service was Amazing. we went in with a group of 40 plus! We were sat at different tables but close to each other which was fine. The food was top notch and fresh. I actually got the Vegatarian Tacos and they were so good. Everyone was pleased with everything. Even the tickets were done correctly.

wasn't able to set foot in because of service dog. They have a patio but we were told to sit outside the patio and they will bring chairs for us, ridiculous! I felt discriminated for this...

Excellent service! Excellent food. Reasonable prices. I wish we had one of these in Kentucky!

We were seated quickly and had our choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The menu is well labeled with choices for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Much appreciated as that's not done well in TN at most places. They didn't really have any interesting mocktails but they do offer a non-alcoholic Pilsner if that's your thing. The queso dip is DELICIOUS! Hands down the best part of the meal. The tacos were ok. Just ok. I wouldn't come again for the food really. They needed to properly heat the corn tortillas. They were cold and falling apart. For tacos, Bollywood Tacos is light years better. You can thank me later for that tip. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We were seated, given our food, and then left and ignored for the remainder of the evening. The server was super busy talking about himself for at least 10 minutes to some poor woman trying to eat her dinner. The rest of the wait staff, which was mostly male, was standing around talking to each other like a bunch of girls. No water for my husband either. The reason it's getting two stars instead of one is because the server came over and took responsibility and apologized for the experience we had. That takes courage. I think a lot of people would have hidden in the kitchen until we left. I have a lot of respect for the way he chose to respond. So, in all, maybe have some queso dip and go but hubs and I won't be back.

It wasn't what I thought it would be. When I think of TexMex restaurants, I think about frozen margaritas, chips and salsa and a variety of menu options. There was a variety of tacos but they weren't good. The alcoholic drink menu was limited. It truly didn't meet my expectations. The food wasn't good but I will say the staff was nice and friendly.

Sarah was our server and she was delightful. Efficient service, which I always like. No free chips & salsa when you sit down but then it's not a typical Mexican restaurant, very American-ized. That may not be a real word, but you get what I mean, maybe Tex-Mex? Queso was very good, came out warm with plenty of chips for a party of 4. Highly recommended Memphis nachos to be shared. Food was fantastic!

I'm not sure why this place has such high reviews because the food our party got wasn't good. I got enchiladas and a margarita and my dining partner got two tacos. We also got the salsa sampling app. The mango salsa was the best part of the meal and is something I would recommend to anyone going, but is probably the only thing I'd eat if I were forced to go back for some reason. The red salsa was okay. The salsa Verde was less than okay. The enchiladas were the veggie version. The filling was fine, but the sauce on top was weird. It seemed like it may have been made with tomatillo so I expect some sourness but there was just too much of it with no balance. I didn't finish the plate. I got charro beans and they were very unseasoned. The rice was fine. The tacos were the black bean taco and a fried fish taco. My dining partner let me try a bite of his fish taco--it was gross. I didn't try the black bean one, but he told me it was worse than the fish one.

Probably better if you eat at the location but overall tasty. My daughters and I ordered tacos to go. Said they'd be ready at 8:10pm. Since we were leaving Coolidge, I drove straight there and texted the number on the to-go sign at 8:01. I knew we were early but I wanted to go ahead and text in case it was done early (it was just three tacos and some nachos). We waited. 8:15 rolled around. Nothing. At 8:20 I walked up to the window to ask and the guy was like: oh yeah, here it is! It had been ready but no one bothered to bring it out even though we were parked in the pick up space and I had texted. So our food was already getting cold and we had been waiting the whole time (I had selected the curbside pick up option). That was pretty frustrating. Then we get back home and there's a nice black hair baked into our nachos If we had been at the restaurant, the food would've been hot and hopefully hair-free but at the very least I could've sent it back for some grooming ;) Overall the food was ok but the experience was definitely a disappointment. Just a heads up to future to-go orderers: don't rely on the phone number texting system on the sign when you show up. And check your food before you go!

if you bring your children here they will most likely hate it the childrens menu only has 5things Taco Bell is better than this the only good thing was the drink

First time and let me tell you. There were SO MANY OPTIONS I had a hard time picking! I went with the California Club taco because it sounded super unique, and the Sloppy Jose because it was a crowd favorite. Two tacos and a side for $11. Both tacos were full of flavor and don't get me started on how good the Mexican street corn was I would struggle to not order them again because they were so good but there are many many more delicious tacos to try. Till next time!

I love a restaurant that caters to all! I don't do bread so the taco bowl was my choice and it was delicious! So flavorful. I did feel the sloppy Joe meat was on the sweet side, but I'm also a sugar free kinda girl. I can't wait to try a the taco bowl with chicken. I'll definitely be back. And make sure to get a drink...the bartender makes a great margarita!!!

I have a gluten allergy and I have never been to a restaurant that was more accommodating that this one. The manager spoke with us and went through their procedures in the kitchen as well as the menu. I accidently ordered something with gluten in it and it was caught immediately and I was able to order something else. If you have a food sensitivity or allergy, run do not walk to this restaurant.

Great tacos and the red salsa is exceptional. We ate at the bar and the bartender, Melanie, was incredibly helpful. The Oy Vey taco was delish.

The food here is amazing! The taco's were great! What shocked me the most was the sweet potatoes fries. One of the kids had it as their side and they were amazing. Probably the best I've ever had. Service was great as well.

Went here after a hike after high recommendations. There was outdoor seating but no supportive back. After we were seated it did take forever for someone to come to us, and only after we did some significant staring in that direction. There was actually ice in the water, which was a welcome surprise. We ordered a mango salsa to start. It came out quickly. The salsa itself wasn't very sweet like the mango wasn't ripe enough. There was heat in the rest of the salsa though. The hot chicken taco was good, spicy and flavorful. The taco royale was definitely missing something. The chicken was lackluster and seemed dry. Had to add the mango salsa for a little kick. The best part were the sweet potato fries. Overall, average, wouldn't jump to return.

Food was amazing and our waitress/bar tender was awesome!! She knew her stuff and was able to give us good suggestions.

Totally cool, laid back, solid good Mexican restaurant! Good service and good food! Their margarita was yummy, the chips sampler was a great starter and the variety tacos we chose were yummy! They were filling! Prepare to eat and get full! And don't let the spot discourage you, bc some of those MX hidden a bit are the best!
