My boyfriend and i was looking for a place to eat good tacos, we was at the mall thinking about a good place and checking in Google i found Tacos Pionero, is a pretty place with the best tacos ever! The attention, the service and the food was delicious 😋 I'm gonna gave this spot a 5⭐️ they deserve, The people's working here are so humble and deserve it to have this place FULL every day. Thanks for the food. Hasta la próxima! 🙏🏼

Definitely one of my favorite go-to spots when I'm craving a taco plate or maybe even a torta. They do provide daily specials. The horchata is so wonderful! The staff is sweet, as well. I'm glad they replaced Burger eXtreme. Hehehehe

Hubby and kids got bistec tacos (hubby said the meat was 3/10 but the tortillas were fresh) I ordered the chicken tamale, I felt they were missing flavor but ok.

I have never seen a place so clean before! The food is GREAT, and the workers are sweet and patient. I ordered a Plain Torta, and it included a side of fries and Jalapeños... I would have rated it 5 stars if the side of the fries were bigger, but in the end- this restaurant has a big variety of foods to try! I highly ecommend it ✨️

So this was our first time this visiting this taco shop we love to visit different taco shops. Upon arrival everything seemed okay there was a customer ahead of us who seemed unsure on what she wanted however the cashier seem to rush her with choosing. She wasn't real specific on elaborating on the products that the woman was questioning. However someone came from the back he looked like he may have been a cook and he began to take our order's. He seemed also to be in rush mode as if he had some better things to do than to take orders I'm not sure. Once served I will be honest as always on my reviews good or bad we were not happy I specifically ordered the Birria tacos I do know how the Birria tacos are made and I received regular tacos. The rice was very Bland no seasoning we will not return to this place I will not recommend this spot to anyone if you go here bless you. I hope they work better on their customer service skills because it's very important especially where they're located. They need to have understanding that this is a diverse area so diversity is what will come to your business and keep your business running.

As a Californian I can honestly say this is the best authentic Mexican food in Arlington. They have a deal on Tuesday for tacos. I ordered 10 asada and 10 pork, my family of 6 was very impressed! The green salsa is everything 🙌

Some of the most amazing tacos I've ever had in my life! I always look for the best ones and this is likely # 1. I can't even think of the name of #2!

This area is nice and a hidden gem, more people need to try this place out as they have very delicious tacos and beans and rice! Their salsa is nice and spicy. I recommend anyone trying this spot.

Well let me say that them tacos de pastor are bomb ! Not going to lie, I went for a whole week there just for the tacos not once did the disappoint, love this place

Found this place on yelp. They had high reviews so I decided to give it a try. Everything was okay. Nothing really stood out. The salsa was tasty and spicy. The tacos weren't overly greasy. I got the 5 taco plate with beans and rice it was 15.99 but with tax and tip it came closer to $20 (no drink included). The two meats I got were barbacoa and bistec. The texture of the bistec was chopped very finely (I'm use to bigger pieces). Both meats were soft and "juicy" (I felt like they were watery) they didn't hold much flavor. The tortillas were fairly good. The space is really big and clean, the employees were very nice. I wish I would've liked the tacos more but they just weren't for me! However, they might be for you, so I would still stop by and give them a try! Maybe you will have better luck or pick a better item on the menu! They did have a lot to choose from.

Searched for street tacos near me and this taco shop popped up with 4.5 stars. This place was not surrounded by a whole lot, but the inside was very inviting. There were deep rich bold colors on the walls with a twist of Mexican flare as part of decor. Very neat and clean! The young lady greeted me as I walked in and gave me time to gaze at the various items on the menu. I ordered 2 pork street tacos and 1 fajita on flour with a soft drink. Food served pretty quick and tacos were delicious!!! I ordered 3 more for take out. I can't wait to go back and try something different.

First, I want to say that I appreciate the genuine welcome I got when I arrived! Made me even more excited to explore their menu. I decided on getting an assortment of 5 street tacos which cost me $13 . Can we talk about these meaty tacos??? I mean just look at the picture! My favorite meats was the steak for sure, but all of them were flavorful! I will frequent this place for sure

Been following Arlington Foodies group on Facebook and took this suggestion, it paid off!! Very clean and nicely decorated, ordered at the counter and they brought it to us. Everything freshly made, we heard them making it after we ordered. My very favorite was Carnitas, moist but not greasy and extremely flavorful and delicious!! Barbacoa was my second favorite, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Pastor and Suadero were also very tasty. Taco Tuesday $1.99 each for regular tacos and they come with cilantro, onions and radishes. Their green salsa was supremely good.

Everything about this place was just so-so. Nothing to right home about. The food was okay we had the cubana torta and the taco plate. The taco meat was a bit dry and the cubana torta didn't have any flavor consistency. About half the torta was bland and the other half had alll the flavor. The service was just about the only thing that was good and the food was out on our table fast. Lastly the ambiance is just kind of your average mom and pop Mexican restaurant. The bathroom though were a little unkept.

Meh. My Dad wanted to try this place out. It didn't live up to the review hype for me. First, when you walk in you are confused where the line starts to order. I think a sign would be helpful here. When we did finally order the man at the counter almost seemed like he didn't want us there. He said multiple times " are we sure we wanted to stay because they had a lot of online orders and were behind. " The table was sticky. The bathroom was kind of gross. The tacos had no flavor really. All in all not the best.

First time at Taco Pionero on a Friday night. We were greeted with a great smile upon entering. Since this was a new place for us, it took me a bit to decide. The young lady behind the counter was so patient and friendly. I ordered a birria taco, a carnitas taco, and charro beans. My friend order 3 beef tacos, Barbacoa, fajita, and bistek. ALL were DELICIOUS!! Everything had great flavor! It is nice and bright in the restaurant, very welcoming.

Another great experience! I was having trouble with online ordering so decided to call. The Lady who took my order over the phone on the evening of 6/23 was very helpful, professional, and patient. We were having some communication challenges and she was really polite and simply great! Excellent service!! My husband enjoyed his 5 chicken taco plate that comes with one side. He decided to try them with flour tortillas this time and was pleased. He ordered rice as his side but we realized it wasn't there once we got the order home. My Mother got the chicken quesadillas that typically comes with salad but we were asked which side she wanted so she was excited to get their rice too! (Although the salad is a fine choice). Again, she had half of her meal leftover for another meal. My Dad really enjoyed his chicken enchiladas with red sauce, rice & charro beans. He said the charro beans were some of the best he's had. I got the 3 taco plate with birria on flour. The tacos were good but not great. Corn tortillas would probably have been a better choice. They were a little dry. Maybe offering a small side of consume would fix that. There are to many other great things on the menu and things to try that I probably won't be ordering them again. The 3 taco plate comes with 2 sides so I got rice & refried beans and enjoyed them. We got a medium side guacamole that is enough for 2-3 people if using as compliment to your meal and not as dip. It was a little heavy on the salt this time but we had no problem devouring it! Opportunities: Online Ordering - would not allow me to choose my meat selection(s) on tacos and does not allow substitutions or omissions. (Reason why I ended up calling in my order). From past recommendation of a mild salsa, I ordered some of the regular salsa and stated non-spicy. She told me it'd be the green salsa. It was good but still too spicy for someone who can not tolerate much spice. We got some of the red too and my husband & I enjoyed using some of that on our tacos. I'd still recommend considering having a non-spicy mild salsa option or a mild picante type salsa.

I was craving tacos last night so we decided to try something new and came across this place. Staff were super friendly and made us feel very comfortable! Our food came out great and satisfied my craving 100%, it was actually so good we ordered 10 more tacos to go haha I'll definitely be back and eat here more often!

My visit to Taco Pionero went well! I came with my best friend after our initial lunch plans were thwarted, and I was not disappointed! They inside was very calm and laid back and there were no other customers for the duration of our stay so you guys need to go show them some more love! The inside was clean, the decor was cute and culturally submersible. Ive been married to a beautiful Mexican man for 7 years and Ive been to a lot of authentic places from home and spent a lot of time in Mexico and this hit the mark on the head! The employees were kind and patient, the maybe mid-30s female employee behind the counter was extremely beautiful and so kind! I wish I would have gotten her name! The food was delicious and unassuming! I was hesitant that the rice and beans would not have much flavor based of initial impression but they were loaded with an explosion of flavor! , the cheese enchiladas were equally as tasty! A lot of places use very unflavored bland cheese and sauce and these were perfect!.. My ONLY complaint is that my enchiladas were still slightly cold in the middle and just needed to be cooked maybe a minute longer. I didn't mention it as it wasn't that big of an issue and I will be back and spreading the word of how fantastic Taco Pionero is!

Checked this out in our endless search of delicious tacos. The owner is so nice and friendly! We both got a 5 taco plate, pastor and they were incredible. I stuck with the green salsa and my hubby got the pink one you have to ask for (scorching hot). Prices were great and the food came so fast.

We tried almost every meat choice on their taco line up, all were delicious. The man who took our order was very patient with our indecisiveness (as we wanted to order everything).

The worst tacos I've ever had, I got the 5 taco plate combo with steak, pork, beef tongue, chicken and barbacoa- all had no flavor and the rice looked and tasted bland and the beans... no flavor. The worst taco was definitely the pork. But customer service was very seeet

This place just keeps getting better. The Alambre, subbed chorizo for the bacon. Fantastic. The Cremona salsa is great. A+++

Such a hole in the wall with authentic Mexican food! You walk in and are immediately greeted by someone who is ready to help you and recommend dishes depending on what you're in the mood for. She made great recommendations! My kids liked the birria tacos, I loved my caldo de res, and my husband like his torta that was so big he had a hard time getting it into his mouth. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food that is served. Pretty empty on a Friday night, but they had lots of regulars getting to go orders. My kids are already asking to go back!

Take an few moments to check out the menu - they have anything you could want here - sopes, gorditas, menudo (on weekends), tortas - as well as all the favorites: tacos, quesadillas, and fajitas. There are usually 2 types of Mexican food lovers in a family: the ones who want it Autentico o nada, and the ones who want it more familiar and approachable. Both can eat here and be happy!! I am autentico or nada, so I was thrilled that I had a choices if so many variety meats: tripas, lengua, chicharron, menudo - but as soon as I saw the tacos de birria con queso, I knew what I had to get. I am such a sucker for good Birria, that I had to order it - and I was so happy that I did! Delicious, tender, well-spiced meat with generous amount of queso in a dipped corn tortilla that had been crisped on the grill - HEAVEN ON A PLATE! My companeros, one mas familiar and one in between autentico or nada and familiar we're with me and both were very happy with their choices. One got the cheese quesadilla, which was stuffed with delicious while melted cheese in a large flour tortilla, crisped beautifully on the grill. It was served with French fries served hot and crispy from the fryer. My husband got the three taco plate with puerco al pastor, lengua and carnitas tacos. Al pastor was served in the diced style, but was very tender and served with chunks of pineapple. Muy delicioso! Lengua was also diced, and very tender with warm spices in the braising liquid infusing the meat. Carnitas were stewed and very tender. Tacos are served with 3 kinds of salsas: a direly creamy orange-colored Jane wrap salsa that is hot hot hot ( and I love love loved!), a tomatillo salsas that was tangy and refreshing (also loved this one) and a creamy avocado and jalapeño salsa that is also delicious. I found myself continually going back for the creamy habanero salsa and the tomatillo chunky salsa - which tells you something because I admit I am addicted to the the creamy green salsa. Next time I want to try the tripas and the pressed chicharron, lengua, a sope, and whatever else strikes my fancy! They do chilaquiles and breakfast tacos in the morning, so you can come in early to start your day off right. EAT HERE NOW!! 5 something delicious for everybody stars

Great ambiance very homey and the service was great. Plenty of seats for you to choose from. The fish plate comes with 2 fish tacos with rice and beans . The ingredients are fresh, good portion of fish and rice was good too. I like how it's not thw usual Spamish yellow rice. but comes with white rice and vegetables like corn. A perfect place for a quick easy lunch.

I was searching for an amazing torta and I found one! I got the combination torta with ham and bistek! It was amazing!! I also got beans and rice that were great. The horchata and Jamica augas so good. They brought out 3 diferent. The green and orange were super spicy which I love and they had great flavor. Also the service was very friendly and a clean restaurant. I'll def b back

At this point in time I will say I frequent this place often and enjoy the tacos. I would recommend this place for Mexican food

I don't know why I waited so long to try this place out !' My gf and I were starving and had nothing to cook and were craving tacos so we decided to given this place a try. I'm very happy that we did. Everything was very fresh and delicious . I'm actually ordering from here again today as I leave this review. The fish taco is one of the best I've had in a while! Try the street tacos and the fish tacos and you won't be disappointed!!

I have to change my review from the first time I tried this place. I've been back 3 times since and I keep getting more disappointed each time. Overall, the flavor is really good. The sizing, however, is their downfall. My tacos get smaller and smaller with each new visit. Now, they're the size of the mini tacos you get in a box in the Walmart freezer section. I was a little embarrassed to brag to my in-laws about how great this place was. They need to match the size/portion with the price. A positive note is I always receive good customer service.

Customer service was great and the food was excellent freshly made . They gave us some suggestions from their menu. Lots of seating room.

Amazing food!! Probably the best I've had since TJ, Mexico many years ago. We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it out. Homemade Chips with Salsa was delicious. We tried Lengua (Beef tongue) Tacos, so tender and delicious. Birria Tacos we're a favorite and the Charro Beans are probably the best I've had. We then got a slice of Pecan Bread to go. Same as everything else, amazing and well worth it! Don't pass on this place if you're in the area, I will be back!!

The tacos were good! The staff was friendly and polite. The rice and beans were not the traditional Spanish rice and beans I'm accustomed to, rice was not orange and beans were lighter than normal l. I did enjoy the tacos and I'm excited to try a few other things listed on the menu so I'll be back soon.

I have passed them by 100 times thinking I should stop sometime. When I actually went looking for them, I drove up and down Arkansas. They are in the strip center just east of Davis. It is counter service, and the employees are friendly. They have a good menu, and the restaurant was clean. I ordered a couple of fish tacos and two jalapenos. Everything was cooked fresh and packed up well. The fish tacos were not what I was expecting. They were cornmeal crusted and we're accompanied by lettuce, tomato, cheese, and avocado. It is winter, tomatoes have no flavor and the lettuce and cheese didn't really add anything but bulk. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy. The fish was cooked perfectly, but all together didn't have a ton of flavor. The salsas were both really good, though not really hot. The best thing about it, they are making their own tortillas. And they are making them well. I liked that I could order charred jalapenos, since I am a spice freak. The tacos weren't bad but I don't know that I would order the fish again. Next time I am totally going for the street tacos. And more of those jalapenos.

I will be adding this to my list of return restaurants. I'm sitting in the dining area after my food writing this review. Lol--The food was really good; I had two steak tacos, two fish tacos, fries and the person I was with had two steak tacos as well. Well seasoned steak w/ onions and cilantro (on the side) two things I would recommend is asking people if they want cheese on the fish tacos, and putting the onions and cilantro on the tacos. Overall the service was fast and accurate. You ever heard don't judge a book by the cover and this is one of the places.

I think every restaurant has there staple dish, or meal you just can't get anywhere else... and here the FISH TACOS!! Are it! So fresh, hot the and a great portion. The staff is nice the restaurant is clean. They have plenty of options but if you ask me I'm getting the fish tacos!

I got tacos and asked the man if there was salsas in my order that I placed online and no salsa to be found. Place wasn't even busy very upset. I called and the owner just said sorry would you like to come back. I drove 15 min I am not wasting my gas. Which makes me even more mad is that another customer came and ordered a quesadilla and he told the employee make sure you ask him what salsa he wants. I guess my $60 order wasn't good enough. Also my husband ordered tacos de tripa and the tripa is not cooked all the way. I couldn't eat my tacos without salsa.

First time and definitely not the last. Good food and very fast!. Most places only have pazole or menudo on weekends but we got some on a Thursday so call ahead to make sure because I think it's offered daily but I'm sure they run out quickly.

Finally tried this place! We ordered pastor and birria tacos on their special day menu. They were $1.79 (I think) and came out with 2 different salsa sauces. They were delicious and fast service! I'd have to go back to try their other items.

This place has the best birria tacos I've ever had. I was floored by how delicious they were, especially when they didn't come with consommé which is usually a red flag for me. The pastor was also out of this world although some might say it was a little sweet for their tastes, I enjoy it with the pineapple. Every single thing I tried was wonderful and I'd make the drive to Arlington again just for the BIRRIA alone. Yum!

So I came here to try their tortas and when I got there the cashier man was super nice and friendly! I always like good service . So now the good part , I had ordered the Cuban torta which has cheese,ham,sausage, tomatoes, lettuce, beans, chicken empanizado (breaded chicken) it came with fries and chiles en vinagre also with a salsa of your choice! It was really delicious and pretty big. I will definitely come here again thank you for everything!

The pork tamales and cheese with pepper tamales were really great as were the tacos. The enchiladas weren't my favorite, but only because they were a different style than I was used to. Awesome service.

The worst taco shop I have ever been to!! The tacos are not good at all. The overpriced taco plate with bland meat, beans, and rice. I would rate this place zero stars if I could! Stay away from this place!!

Now I know that a torta is just a sandwich lol.. This is my first time at this establishment. I should have got tacos as I have read great reviews, maybe I'll get one to go. I had the Cubana torta and THIS is a hungry man's meal!!! This comes with chicken fried steak, wiener (hot dog), chorizo, ham and cheese and also avocado with all the fixings (lettuce,tomato,Mayo etc).. it was very delicious! I only finished half because it it very large. I came here because Taco Moreno was closed. I wish this place had churros but I can see myself coming back to try more items from the menu.

I love the tacos here, I have to drive 35 mins just to get their tacos, and the service was really nice, and the place is clean. I'd go eat here everyday if I could. HIGHLY recommended!!

The best tacos outside of Mexico City we've had. We've been to taquerias in NYC, California, NJ and this is the tops. You won't regret it.

Cheese? .25 up charge per taco. Rice? 2.59 for what would fit in your palm. Fish taco? Add another buck. Cashier (heavyset owner or manager?) kept asking if we want this or that without telling us everything is extra. When I complained about our $40 tab for two lunch he said, well, read the menu, cmon man. If this is authentic Mexican food I feel sorry for Mexico. Food was bland, decor is cheap, bathroom dirty, overall just run down, a dive but not in a good way. Make like a pioneer and keep moving past pionerro, no bueno.

We've been here a handful of times and it has always been delicious! The prices are very reasonable and the staff is always friendly. A must try!

These tacos are great! I highly recommend the pastor tacos, they are very flavorful and delicious. The barbacoa tacos are also very good. Getting both salsas is a must. I'd highly recommend this restaurant, prices are reasonable and the staff is kind.

Loved the tacos! They smelled so good I had to crush one on the way home! Good friendly service and cook fast ( for all my impatient hangry people lol) I was a little bummed they didn't have shrimp but the beans were just as good. They don't have black beans the only thing missing was the sour cream and it would have been perfect! I'm sure I'll be back

When I went back to Arlington to pay family a visit, I stopped at this small joint in a dark lot off Arkansas ln. It was super clean, pretty empty (during COVID) but the cashier greeted me immediately with enthusiasm. I placed an order for 4 chicken tacos. It took about 15 minutes. They were fresh, delicious, and the salsa was on point! I will be back on my next visit to try something more....risky??? :P

Phenomenal! Everything I ordered from here was exceptional and this will now be my #1 go-to spot for tacos from here forward. The fish tacos were great, and my boyfriend said that the tacos he got (chicken, bbq beef) were tender and tasty. The salsa and chips were fresh and the salsa itself was really good. The horchata was a 10 and I wish I had more of it right now. My favorite part about this place is their green sauce. It compliments everything so well. I definitely recommend this place!

They have the best fish tacos hands down! This is our go-to for tacos as both food and service are amazing. I come here for pozole too when I have the taste for it. They only serve this on weekends, but you can always ask if they have it on the menu on a Thursday. You might just get lucky :)
