Amazing. The food was made out of fresh ingredients and the ambience was the highlight. They have few parking slots but I won’t bet on finding space there. Definitely recommend the tortas sandwich.

Steph Couvrette

Google
Fantastic tacos at a good price. Loved the carnitas, chorizo and al pastor. The green salsa was both tasty and a little spicy! Delicious. They came out pretty quick and there was a decent amount of shade to eat lunch without being in the full sun.

Anthony Elizarraras

Google
Food is pretty good tasting, but it’s expensive. I got a burrito and two tacos here one for $16+. The pastor meat is very good and the salsas are pretty spicy but have great flavors. Saturday was very hot here so they definitely could use more umbrellas in the sitting/eating area. The area on the corner can be questionable with the people pass by and be careful if you got kids or animals with you cause you’re close to the very busy road. I’d eat here again but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It’s also cool you can still get a sandwich here if you remember the steak & hoagies spot here before.( Philly cheesesteaks & pastrami’s)

Rachel Rose

Google
Oh my god, YES! I ordered pastor tacos and my husband got a pastor burrito. It was absolutely amazing, I almost ordered some to go. The spicy salsa was so spicy I’m in love. I don’t live in the area, but on my way back home I’m definitely stopping again! Do yourself a solid and check it out! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Google
First time here. It's small walk up with outdoor seating that has a cozy feel. Service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious! We had the chicken burrito, birria tacos and carnitas fries which was definitely shareable. Will go here again!

Akash Jaggi

Google
We had delicious tacos and a burrito bowl! Everything tasted great, fresh, and the tortillas complimented the taco meat well. Nice location within walking distance from the beach and pier.

Samantha Hamilton

Google
Ok, in love with the food! The Quesabirras 10 out of 10. Also the root beer is good.

Google
The lady working the counter is awful. She was so nasty to me and my friend as we ordered. It was our first time there and after asking for no cilantro she proceeded to tell me “ you are so difficult” she told the kitchen staff in Spanish to put extra cilantro on my tacos. I will not be coming back. Terrible customer service.

Yelp
Have been to a few Taco spots in Ventura and always wanted to try this place. Finally managed to make a stop on a recent road trip. We got there right as they opened so we ordering was easy and got our tacos prepared fairly quickly. Lots of people started coming after us to pick up orders so we felt like we got there just in time. The place had a nice outdoor seating area and they have two sections. Some parking but not many so not sure what it's like when they're really busy. We ordered the fish and shrimp tacos so we could try both. Really good and flavorful. Nice presentation as well. Would def try and come again next time I'm in the area.

Judith H.

Yelp
The tacos were very flavorful highly recommend and would definitely go back. The staff was great

Yelp
Tacos are still good. Great meat quality and flavor. Love that they come with grilled and pickled onions on the side. The salsas are good too. All 3 have a kick so be ready for that. My review is going down a bit from last time. I tried the birria gordita today and it was okay. The beans don't have much flavor and the gordita itself also lacked some flavor. Very little birria inside and you basically only get the meat at the bottom of the gordita. My husband had the asada burrito and said it was decent. He also thought the beans could have more flavor. Parking is still a problem given that it's on a major street. I ordered online so just had the husband jump out of the car to avoid having to find parking nearby. Overall, still a good option when craving tacos.

Yelp
Tacos el Diablo is really fire food. First off when ordering via the phone the employee is very helpful in placing your order and confirms your order and location( they have one in Oxnard and Ventura). They have updated the seating area and restroom area a considerable amount since the Hogie place. There is even a sign that says Cheesesteaks and bogies are available if you ask. But I haven't dared. The Al pastor is really good, full of flavor. The tacos are really good, and I love how the package them with paper in between so the tacos don't stick to each other. My absolute favorite is their habanero salsa. It looks rather unappealing and not spicy, but upon first taste you'll be amazed at the spice and flavor level. The spicy level is perfect for me and I ended up using the whole container- I absolutely loved it- I WANT THE RECIPE if possible! :) The green salsa is very delicious as well, similar consistency to Lalo's with the slimes tomatillos, but this salsa has more flavor than lalos. The red salsa was great, but honestly after the habanero salsa taste like water to me. The flavor is great and definitely a top notch salsa. All around their salsas are great. We ordered 5 tacos and 2 burritos. Our order came out to $38.65. Their menu does not reflect prices, which makes sense due to inflation and needing to update frequently, but I still think a restaurant should display their prices. I would guess the prices are $2.50/taco and $12 for a burrito. The burrito was fire just like last time. The chicken was diced chicken breast that was incredibly flavorful. The beans inside the burrito were perfect restaurant beans, nice and refried with plenty of flavor- I could eat those all day. Overall Tacos el Diablo is a great spot, I presume for traveling on the 101 it's perfect whether you're traveling north or south due to on ramps being pretty close.

Yelp
We hit this place after having moved here a year ago. Tried an assortment of tacos. The winner was the Birria by far. Really like the nachos but definitely on the hotter side (I guess that's the Diablo part). We liked it so much we went back 4-5 days later. Super clean. Nice patio. Outdoor dining only. The only downside is the location. Wedged between Thompson and the 101, last time we even got the train. However, to go seems very popular so for some that's better. Tried the asada fries, less developed as a dish than the nachos.

Jose C.

Yelp
The service here was the worst. I was helped by a young woman and her attitude left her nasty taste on my food .. the ambiance was nice well lit

Paul B.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. It was quite busy, which is always a good sign. Tacos (chicken & carnitas): The meat was good, clean, not greasy. The tortillas seemed homemade. Overall, tasty, but a bit small. I appreciate the presentation and the accompanying onions, salsa, radish. (no chips though!) A little pricey, but I recommend this place. One downside is the horrible parking situation. It's on a very busy, noisy street and they only have outdoor seating.

Kim C.

Yelp
STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING and make plans to go to Tacos El Diablo. Seriously. (Except for today because it's Monday and they are closed ). I feel so bad just passing by this place by for so long. I thought to myself "great, another mediocre taco spot"... on top of being sad that Steak N' Hoagie was gone. I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE WRONG. This place is an absolute gem! The food is incredible, the service is outstanding and the ambiance is so fun. Colorful umbrellas, patio tables situated in a way that allow you to get sun or shade if you want. I also love the Banda jams while I eat. I've had everything on their menu and I love it all. But the pastor is their trophy menu item hands down. Perfectly marinated, outstanding flavor. They side garnish with pickled onions andddd marinated onion, limes... not to mention their salsa is $&@#%! AMAZING. I've recently gone on a health kick so I've been skipping the tortillas and they have been super accommodating. They even remember me when I order which is unexpected and nice Please note that they cook everything TO ORDER. Be patient, be nice. The owners have put everything into this place and it is quality. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes for my food but I would wait longer if needed because it is consistent and DELICIOUS. Support small business, people! This place is comfort food heaven! You're welcome!

Yelp
Two years ago I had an incredible shrimp Taco in Ventura, CA, just off the freeway exit. Have been looking for it since and today, we FOUND it. The outside looked different, refurbished with great seating and music. There is definitely a Chef in the kitchen. From the tasty shrimp tacos, garnished with purple cabbage with sides of marinated onions and a beautiful beef burrito to the homemade chips and 2 sauces, this food was prepared by someone who truly has a gift.

Kacey C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The parking lot is very small...maybe fits 3 cars. You order the food at a window and get a buzzer to pick up your food when it's ready. All the seating is outdoors, but plenty of umbrellas and shade. The quesobirria tacos were so good and much larger than we expected them to be. They are messy but very flavorful and juicy. The fish tacos were also good, especially with the green salsa. My husband liked his chorizo taco too, but he preferred the birria. The outdoor seating and restroom could have been a little cleaner.

Pamela F.

Yelp
Fast. Friendly. Tasty. Definitely recommend this place! We were cruising down 101 and wanted something good, quick and we found it here at Tacos El Diablo! And everything was made fresh while we waiting - even the chips. Would totally go back when I'm in the neighborhood.

Rose P.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a few months. Came today and they changed their ordering policies. You can no longer get a single taco, apparently you have to order 2. Wanted to order a shrimp taco and those only come in an order of 3. Ridiculous and a total rip off.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
First time here to pick up some tacos to take over to Leashless for an early dinner. Street tacos are $3 except for fish and shrimp that are a little bit more. The woman taking our order was super friendly and helpful. We liked the three salsas: red, green and habanero. Cute white patio tables and sunshades out front.

Rudy D.

Yelp
Got a few tacos: Pastor and Carnitas. The boy got birra. All were very good. Not sure on the price but three tacos and a soda was $20. Patio dining was great with white tables and garden area. I would come back.

Adam H.

Yelp
Some of my favorite tacos ever. Living in LA, it seems unbelievable that we'd find these tacos all the way in Ventura, but why quibble with greatness?

Alexa R.

Yelp
I wanted a Beef taco and a fish taco but they can only do tacos in an order of two even though the menu has choose your own tacos. No prices on the menu either. I got two fish tacos and it was $13. They were really greasy and fish was yellow on the inside like it was soaked in grease still. Definitely not worth $13. My boyfriend's carne asada burrito was extremely salty. Normally don't leave bad reviews but service wasn't friendly either so feel pretty gypped. Would not recommend.

Roger V.

Yelp
I ordered the Shrimp Tacos. Menu says you must order 3 no single tacos for Shrimp, it's okay I wanted 3 anyways. It was not busy at all for being early lunch. Food came out quick and the tacos were delicious good amount of shrimp and the Sauce had a nice kick to it. I took these to go so I'm not sure how crowded it gets during lunch but I will be back to try the Burrito.

Chuck M.

Yelp
Excellent tacos. The pastor burrito was just OK. The owner is very cool. He cares about his customers. This is a permanent food truck with a covered outdoor patio and 1 or 2 tables. This was a very busy place at 10PM. It was cold so we waited in our car.

Gen M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place and it's a great addition UI on to the 805 taco scene. You choose your meat and then the vehicle for it--taco, burrito, flauta, gordita and then you wait about 15 minutes. They have fun Spanish music playing and picnic tables to sit at. The food was fresh and flavorful and well priced. We tried all three of their salsas which were also delicious and spicy, as promised by the "El Diablo" name! We had a burrito and two tacos and the bill was $18. We will be back to try more things off of the menu.

Missy H.

Yelp
The churro is the STAR. I didn't know a churro could be so beautiful or so tasty. With that said, even if there was no churro, we'd be regulars, if I lived locally. The chips were so fresh and the oil tasted clean. Pastor and fish tacos were great and the carnitas burrito was delicious too.. They were generous with the salsa - which we couldn't eat because it was too spicy. It was yummy, but spice level of red and green was too much for both of us. No matter, because the food is amazing. Cute courtyard outdoor seating around back that shelters you from the road noise. Park on the street...some people gave us quite a show trying to back out of the 3 space lot into the traffic.

Jaz M.

Yelp
Finally found a good taco spot in the downtown Ventura Area and I am so happy about this. I've heard from cocowrkers that this place was legit and I've been eyeballing this place for some time now. Came by on a Saturday for lunch and they were somewhat busy. After ordering our tacos we waited approximately 15 minutes for our food to come out. Server was very friendly and the seating is outside only. We ordered the quesobirria tacos, asada/Al pastor/ chorizo tacos and the churro donuts. ALL OF IT WAS SOLID. The quesobirra tacos were the star of this meal as these tacos were so flavorable. The consume had a great flavor and the grilled onions on the side was a nice touch. The chorizo tacos were amazing. Some Of the best chorizo I've had in general. They defiantly take the win out of the other meats. Asada and Al Pastor were ok, just wish it had a bit more flavor but overall still good tacos. The churro donuts were amazing! Such a great desert, highly recommend for anyone with a sweet tooth, you won't regret trying these. We paid $43 bucks for all our food which a bit pricy for tacos, but keep in mind this is downtown Ventura after all. Besides the food is truly so good that you won't mind paying the higher price. If your in the mood for a good taco please support this local buisness.

Gina M.

Yelp
We drove from Bakersfield to eat in Oxnard Ca. at Mi Birria Tacos but they were closed. We YELPED Birria Tacos in Ventura Ca and seen good ratings on Tacos El Diablo. We went and tried their Birria Tacos and Birria Quesadillas OMG....it was Great tasting Birria!!!! Now we have two favorite Spots!!! If your looking for Great Birria you need to give this place a try! So glad we stopped here in Ventura and tried their Birria

C. N.

Yelp
Asada fries are wonderful and love the twist of nachos on another delicious finger food. We also enjoyed the street tacos.

Arunendra S.

Yelp
The horchata is good as is the red drink which has tamarind and a good kick The food is subpar and lackluster. For the fish taco I ate more shredded red cabbage than fish The al pastor looked like the pig was burned in purgatory to a blackened crisp and barely any of its soul had made inside the taco. The chile verde taco looked like a murder scene of the chile and the chicken had escaped outside the crime scene aka the taco !! Save your hard earned money and skip the food. Just order the drinks! The drinks are worth the money. The food is not ! I feel fleeced for having spent $30 for the food.

Kasandra M.

Yelp
The food is amazing, the service is okay, the music is sometimes very loud. The staff is so welcoming and generous. After few to many visits back they always greet me by my name ! Fresh, from scratch authentic Mexican food !

Jim W.

Yelp
Prices are not displayed. Hmmm wonder why? Food was good but a little pricey for my liking.

Moon D.

Yelp
Why two stars? Because I was a repeat and loyal customer. Until now. Okay, I'll admit that I must have really liked this place because today was at least the 4th time I've been here for the quesabirria tacos. Order was 3 tacos and a side of guac and chips. The bill came to $24. I spent $24 on lunch and tipped the young lady at the window. Then asked if I could please have some water. Was told: "No, but you can buy a bottle of water." Me: "i just spent $24 here and I tipped you. Now you won't give me a cup of water?" Was told: "Everyone tips me and no, we're not giving out water". I wonder how much it costs them to give out a lousy little cup of water? It must be very expensive since a cup of water at Tacos de Diablo is apparently worth more than a repeat customer. Tell you what Diablo - go to hell and adios. There's no shortage of taco joints in Ventura...

Jeremy C.

Yelp
I've been on a mission the past few months to find the best fish tacos in Ventura. This spot is easily the winner. The beer battered fish tacos are a perfect combination of flavors... crispy fried fish, cabbage, creamy sauce... topped off with their great salsas and a squeeze of lime... I'm addicted. I've also had some of their other tacos (birria, pastor). All of them were good, but the battered fish tacos are the winner for me. The churro donuts are also amazing. Definitely check this place out!

Jason C.

Yelp
PEOPLE! Where has this place been all my life? Just popped in today for a quick bite. After all, a day without tacos is like a day without sunshine. I've passed by this place in Ventura a few times. To be completely honest I just thought, "oh look, yet another taco place".... WOW! I was so wrong. As they say, the Devil's in the details . (FYI it's also in some of the salsa because it's hot as H E double hockey sticks my friends. Lindsay took my order, she was very sweet and an EXCELLENT representative for this restaurant. You can tell she does a great job, but is also a loyal brand ambassador for Tacos El Diablo. I thought she was the owner as she was so knowledgeable and proud of the product here. I ordered three tacos . El Pastor, Carne Asada, and Chili Verde. The el pastor was solidly on point. Moist, but not greasy and very flavorful. The Asada was also flavorful and cooked perfectly. I tried the red and green salsa on the asada and was very impressed. Very well balanced heat, flavorful, but not punishing the way salsas can be. I did not try the Habanero as.... Well, I'm just a poor little gringo. I'd heard talk that it's NOT for the faint of heart. The Chili Verde gets its own paragraph: I pretty much judge ALL Mexican places by their Chili Verde. Most establishments fall short to some degree. Not enough flavor, too much fat, way too hot, meat too tough.... You know what I mean. Tacos El Diablo NAILED IT. This Chili Verde was the Goldy Locks of Chili Verde.... JUST RIGHT... perfection really. I'll probably be back this week for a Chili Verde Burrito and some of those churro donuts ! Yes! I said CHURRO DONUTS! BOOM As I write this review I'm ever so slightly sad because I know this place is going to blow up once words gets round. I hate to wait in line.. oh wait, you can call ahead and probably order online. Tacos El Diablo is easily one of the BEST taco places in Ventura County, Maybe even SoCal! Trust me people, go here, order, eat.... You'll be screaming Ey Papi!

Francisca C.

Yelp
Excellent food. The tacos are fresh and tasty. The Jamaica is delicious. Love this place.

Will J.

Yelp
Very good tacos, very nice workers, and has some cool cars always driving by for car enthusiasts.

Charlotte C.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place after hearing I was looking for a good consome. This place hit the spot! It's not the best I've ever had but it's pretty damn good! And their horchata is bomb too. They have quite a few meats but I love their birria and asada. The staff is nice enough and the dining is all outdoors in a cute little patio area. Really hard to find parking though and if you blink you might miss it!

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late lunch on a Sunday after a hike nearby. I've been meaning to try birria tacos for the longest time and they certainly didn't disappoint! The tacos were decently sized, and the meat was so tender, flavorful, and juicy. The melted cheese between the corn tortillas was the cherry on top. My boyfriend got street tacos with al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas. I tried a bite of the al pastor and the meat wasn't dry! Can't wait to come back next time.

Electric V.

Yelp
Wow... this place is goated, like wow. Me and my brother from another mother journeyed over here after an excruciating outing at the "bins" and I could not have been more impressed. 10/10 yummy af will go again!

Allie R.

Yelp
Soooo good. Tried quesobirria tacos with consumè and an asada burrito. I ate the tacos too fast for a pic. All of it was amazing. The consume was prob the best I've tried and made the meal. Asada burrito added cheese. Just amazing. Plus online order *chefs kiss*

Liza K.

Yelp
Dropped by here after strolling on Main Street and loved it! Ordered the asada nachos to go, service was quick and friendly, and the patio was pleasant! I'll definitely be back for more!

Jessica K.

Yelp
FIRE nachos!! we got them with al pastor and shared them (had 3 tacos each before lol). Delicious and came with guac!! The lady was SO sweet and seemed like she knew lots of the regulars, so cute!!!

Mickie M.

Yelp
This is actually my 2nd time the tacos are so delicious the meat juicy and full of flavor ... definitely recommend. I've also had the Churro donuts and torta and nachos . Everything is amazing haven't had anything less than wonderful here ! Try it you will like it ! Xo

Gary B.

Yelp
Great environment and customer service was superb. I was shooting a few photos of the exterior of the restaurant when I was pulled in by a woman working the counter. We bantered a bit about the exterior of the restaurant and she told us that we should try some of the tacos because they were delicious. So we ordered a variety of tacos and quesabirria and was not disappointed. The salsas were also very good. Pricing may be a bit higher than competitors, yet you cannot deny the flavor is definitely there. Also the outside dining area is beautiful & relaxing at around 4:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. Thank you again for pulling us in. Also I wanted to add that we were so impressed with the flavor that we ordered another round. Thank you again! Can't wait to come back and try more of the offerings.

Max R.

Yelp
10 star tacos and the sprite was hitt'n!! I'm coming back ASAP and it was the perfect post surf meal.

Nicolle E.

Yelp
Had to try it two days in a row because I kept thinking about the Quesabirra tacos! Lol this place is delicious!! The flavors are all on point! Tried the churro donuts as well and oh my goodness! They literally melt in your mouth! Amazing ! A must try!

Terri M.

Yelp
My husband and I had Tacos El Diablo for the first time tonight and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered tacos; chicken, carnitas and chile verde. They were all plentiful and flavorful. The only small complaint was that the chile verde was a bit fatty, which may be normal but not our preference. We also ordered a torta, which was huge and very tasty. It did not have avocado, something we are accustomed to on a torta, but still very good. I would recommend this establishment and will visit again when in Ventura.

Theresa P.

Yelp
First time trying Tacos El Diablo since Steak & Hoagies been gone. Friendly and fast service. They fixed the outside eating area so nice, it's relaxing especially since the street it's on is so busy. The tacos we had were very flavorful & filled us up, perfect for a quick lunch!

Nicolas R.

Yelp
A lot of Dodd for your money. Margarita Drink not strong but good. One fish taco was enough for me..

Rachel W.

Yelp
Excellent Quesabirria! One of the best I've tried. My boyfriend enjoys their salsas. It's a bummer they're closed on Mondays, idk why but I always end up craving their food on a Monday lol!

Wendy T.

Yelp
Best birria tacos I have ever eaten. Great service, the gal that took our order was friendly and described everything perfectly. The grounds are so cute with an additional patio toward the back. All lit up nicely by little lights. True, the train is LOUD when it passes, but just take another bite of taco and you won't hear it.. I want to go back and try another food items but lets be real, mas birria por favor! I could drink the broth by the gallon. It was complex and so flavorful. Do yourself a flavor and stop by this little gem! If they made margaritas I would never leave....

Daniel L.

Yelp
Good food not worth the cost $3.50 for a soda no refills Menu doesn't have prices I asked the employee why and it's because the price goes up at the vendors go up Last time I went to a restaurant that had no prices was because it's market price. I don't think tacos should be market price. To top it off, they don't offer free water, which FII I think is a California law

Kenneth S.

Yelp
Get the fish tacos, they are the best! Tacos are so good, can't beat the price or quality. Here's some photos:

Jonni C.

Yelp
The food was good, not great. It's not worth the money for the most part. Maybe, just the torta. Customer service was kind of lacking. The person at the window seemed cold and not very friendly. It doesn't help that 2 people who were there before me were complaining about their food and unwillingness of the staff to find any resolution. One was asked to just simply buy another burrito if he didn't like the current order. I doubt i will be back.

Andrew J.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth a try! Sopas are made with fresh ingredients and original recipe. The Lady at front she is amazing great service. The Ambiance of this place is casual but also feel it can be a great place for Friday night date.
