These might be the best tacos I've eaten in Mexico City. And the best part? Each taco costs about 80 cents (USD)! We stopped by on a Friday and 2 pm and it was crowded with locals grabbing a quick lunch.
They make everything fresh to order, so you only need to order one taco at once, to ensure your next one is piping hot. Then you pay at the end when you're done. I'm not sure how they keep track of everything but they do. I had the quesabirria taco and a campechano. We also ordered a side of the birria broth to share between my husband and my sister since we each got a quesabirria taco and just wanted to try it with the broth. Highly recommend sharing a broth because it's a good size. It was more than enough for the three of us with maybe about half left. The campechano tacos and the longaniza tacos were great as well - jam-packed with meats. They let you customize the tacos too, which was nice. For example, my husband doesn't like cilantro, so they didn't put any on his tacos. There are a bunch of accoutrements on the side you can help yourself to, including limes, salsas, veggies, and various pickles (although some of the veggies and pickles looked a bit suspect so I did not partake, but that didn't take away from the overall taco experience).
I wish we discovered this place sooner and not on our last day in CDMX.
