Even though they were almost closing and had started putting things away/cleaning, the guys working there hooked us up. They were super fast and generous with salsas and the other toppings. We had tacos(asada and cabeza) and asado fries. Super bomb, would definitely eat here again 😋

Usual Mexican taco restaurant experience Was gonna order online but decided to see how inflated the prices were first. Got 6 chicken tacos at $2.60 ea for a total of $17.12 after taxes. These tacos aren’t worth more than $2… gets the job done when you have the craves but not worth it when there is better out there for a better price.

I really enjoy Tacos El Unico. The food is good and the service is wonderful. I'm always greeted with a smile and the young man who has attended me is always respectful and polite. I havent had the chance to try a lot of the menu, but so far; the breakfast burrito (my fave)

This is my go to spot! I even celebrated my birthday there this year with girlfriend. El Unico hooked it up with the churro tray. Love you forever Taco El Unico ADAMS. Beware the Habanero!

Maybe it’s because I’m from the Midwest, and the tacos in LA are so much better. But this place is excellent, and the prices are great! I got 3 original tacos (pollo, al pastor, asada) went for around 8.50 and they were all flavorful and delicious!

Love this place, food is always delicious every time I come eat there. Price is a little to high compared to the competition but hey, there food is great so I don't mind paying. Money well spent. Parking area is good, I never have a problem finding parking. Seating area is good to, enough space from other people visiting. Overall, 5 stars

Kevin is a G! Always attentive, and accommodating. He has answered the phone for me a few times when I have concerns and is always a great example of customer service and just being a good dude! Give him a raise asap! No pizza party, just a raise!!

For the price it is hard to beat. Quick service no complaints. I asked what he recommended and he gave me the Sopes. I had 2 which was good enough to get me full. The corn masa and the beans were the best part but no complaints about anything else. The green salsa was spicier than anticipated but adding a bit gave it a good kick. If I was in the area looking for a quick and cheap eat I would definitely come here again.

My footy kids don't miss! Another south central sleeper that needs more love for what it gives out. Not sure how people complained about this place cause this is prolly the closest I'll ever get to going back to San Diego for my money! From the hole in the wall vibe to the meat on offer this place is the shit. I've had everything from tacos, burritos and their specialty fries and none have disappointed me. They constantly load up everything and have condiments out the ass for even their DoorDash orders as well. Definitely will continue to be my go to in my neighborhood for the years to come.

Paid for a quesadilla "plate" which includes beans and rice. I get home and open the bag only to find out that they only gave me the quesadilla WITHOUT the beans and rice I was charged for. You stole my money is the result of this. PLEASE ensure your staff reads the orders correctly!!! Also, the restaurant had an unclean odor today, It was everywhere but it especially strong from the back entrance to the front counter.

I was in the area and decided to stop by Taco El Unico to satisfy the craving for carne asada that I had that day. I ordered the carne asada fries and a carne asada burrito. The fries were pretty plain - only coming with fries, carne asada, and cheese. Taste wise, they were decent. Would I order them again, maybe? The portion size was large, so they were fulfilling. But I do feel like for $10 you can go elsewhere and get better fries with more topping - this is LA lol. The burrito was definitely the better of the two, although I wish it wasn't as spicy as it was. The burrito was a decent size and was very flavorful. The customer service was nothing special. The service was fast. It didn't take long to get my food once my order was placed - maybe 5min max.

The service was fast on a late weekday. The taco was super small considering this wasn't the smaller size "street taco" rather the "original"bigger tortilla one. The sope was average with the chorizo tasting like fast food taco meat, not bad just didn't taste like chorizo, the size was much better on the sope. Would I come again? Probably not, considering the options of food trucks just down the street.

The food was decent. I'm not expecting much from street tacos. Place wasn't clean when I came in but it was around lunch time so I'm assuming they were busy and recovering. No ice in the machine.

Been to this location a few times and have ordered the following items; Asada Fries but you have to ask for guacamole and sour cream otherwise you get just meat and cheese on your fries. Their burritos are probably the best item, just order it without rice as they will make your burrito with 80% rice. I'm not a fan of tortillas they use for their tacos, they're very thick and they use two of them. The service is decent, they're not rude but they're also not warm and welcoming either. The place does give off a mom and pop vibe. Overall it's not a bad place their just inconsistent with their quality at times.

The food's okay, but the service and follow-through on delivery sucks. They could cancel on you after waiting for delivery for an hour. Go to King Taco on Pico instead.

We were in the area looking for a decent place to eat first time at el Taco Unico the food is not so bad for the price but it can be better it's dry I prefer a taco truck in that case but the cashier was friendly and patient. Drinks are self served and parking is in the back of the building.

I really love that they offer a vegan taco option here. Wasn't anything special necessarily but it was quick, simple, affordable and cured the hunger-all the requirements of satisfying fast food. I especially enjoyed the jamaica because it wasn't too sweet.

The amount of times I've ordered delivery from this place So I feel like I have some credibility in their consistency and taste. For the prices they're offering, I'm very happy with my meals here. This is one of the only places I'm able to tacos with lengua/cabeza are my favorite tacos. (For any Koreans, the cabeza tacos taste exactly like galbitang.) And the burritos were great. The sauces come in individual packets so they're perfectly portioned and "safe" during travel. I've seen some reviews talking about the spice levels - as someone who is well-versed in spicy, their habanero sauces are pretty spicy, but everything else is relatively medium. I ordered the burrito without any dairy, so there wasn't that much flavor, but the sauces remedied that well. I've also tried their burgers - weren't really a fan. Just seemed like a taco with a burger bun, which just isn't my style. But the churros are fries are great late night snacks - take a look at my pics if you wanna see their texture. This place has been a blessing during lockdown.

Worst customer service all the employees look mad and act like they get bugged when asked a question. Ordered a jr burger asada and it was burnt and the bread was super cold;meat and all . Cheese wasn't even melted that's how you can tell it was cold. Also ordered OG tacos and the tortillas looked like street tacos . They were small.

I came once before and it wasn't terrible or memorable for that matter, so last night when the taco truck on my block wasn't there, I came to the closest thing possible, back here to Tacos El Unico. I ordered the quesadilla con adobada, $5.99. I was excited to go home and eat, when I opened the container I was shocked at the size. It looked like I had ordered a kids menu quesadilla from Chili's! There was barely any meat on this poor desnutrida quesadilla. Whatever right, I was hungry af and had already paid for it, I was home. This happens sometimes- you waste good money on bad food... so, I tried it and things didn't get any better. Of the small amount of meat (also not good) that was in my quesadilla, there was a good amount that was just pieces of fat! My photo only shows two but I ate through at least 3 other pieces. The green salsa also wasn't good. And this morning, my stomach was upset, I'll spare ya'll the details. I had to run to the restroom. The other reviews I've read are mixed, they're good sometimes and bad other times. Idk man. I might be crazy enough to come back but I'll have to try something else on the menu. This is a review to remind myself not to order the quesadilla ever again in the future. I can't do that to my precious tastebuds or my poor stomach again. You've been warned.

When the pandemic started, we took it upon ourselves to look out for the restaurants in our area by eating out. Tacos el único was one of the places we wanted to support, but I have been super disappointed with how rude the workers are and how, you can literally repeat a specific order THREE TIMES, and they can literally still get it wrong and then argue with you when you call them on it. So sad that a local neighborhood establishment would choose to treat its most faithful customers that way. Would recommend if you're in a pickle, but don't stress, street tacos are everywhere and they might treat you with more kindness than some of the ladies at El Único.

The tacos are good but at this location the green salsa is the star of the show. I highly recommend it if you love spice as much as I do . It also has a good flavor as well!

I love El Unico! I usually only visit the location on Crenshaw but one late night I got on Door Dash and was stuck with the location on Adams. Friend it was just as bomb as the one on Crenshaw and they're fast. Definitely going back.

Mmmmmm!!!! What a surprisingly wonderful experience!! I had the carne asada fries and a fish taco. I visited from out of town and I'm still dreaming about the carne asada fries two months later. The fish taco was awesome too. It'll probably be a while before I can return but til then I will continue dreaming.

The food is good and reasonably priced. The reason im posting two stars is because the staff is extremely rude. They never answer the phone, always have a nasty tone and management doesn't do anything about it. I used to come here a lot, until I got fed up with the attitude.

RUDE ASS BITCHES!!! I went in today and I witness the outrageous attitude cashiers have towards customers. The customer asked to receive their food for dine in and she gave him attitude. Trays started flying left and right when the customers had a baby in her arms. There was no need for the cashier to have reacted that way when it's her responsibility to take care of the customers needs. Like I said I said RUDE ASS BITCHES!!! I don't recommend this place, this is the third time I witness something like this. This is my last time I put money in this restaurants pocket. The customers should've whooped their asses since they always act like they got a stick up their ass. They need to show some respect. The owner needs to do something about this because people complain and they're still there, all the reviews talk about how rude their cashiers are.

Tried the milanesa torta today with some fries and was pretty good tasting. The milanesa was a little burnt and the beans were just ok. Other than that I think that it was food for the price. Will definitely order it again but without the beans and the burn. Cheese always goes great with it but don't know if that's an option. The fries were hot Delicious and crispy with just the right amount of salt. See you guys tomorrow

This place is a rip off the have 2 tacos sizes the streets tacos are more like miniature tacos they are not street tacos , they went up on the prices and got smaller on the tortilla WTF ..PEOPLE GO DOWN THE STREET AND GET REAL STREET TACOS !!! I came again like a dummy and decided to give them a chance at 5:00 i ordered I order like 30.00 worth of food and how can you not have change . EL UNICO TACO IS A BIG CHAIN AND YOU DONT HAVE CHANGE ...this is ridiculous I think the cashier was scared to take large bill then the manager claims that they have a new owner ..so witch one is it either you don't have change or you don't take large bill ..I'm done with them !!!! This place is ridiculous they need new management the owners are loosing money !!!!!

Food is good costumer service is okay, only issue is that today my dad went in the restroom after eating and he was surprised what he found in there poop everywhere on the toilet seat and the rail next to it, he then got disgusted then almost puked. Simply the bathroom is disgusting

If you think this is a hole in the wall. It is. And it's an unpleasant one: the workers are rude and don't care -- at all. I would stay away from this place at all costs! Extraordinary rude and unapologetic .

I ordered from on Postmates twice and both times my order was wrong. I asked for green salsa and they keep giving me red salsa and did not give me the proper amount. Food is good but they need to pay attention more to the customers request.

Ok so the reviews for eating here when the evening shift comes in makes me for sure know that I'm only a day time customer. My review is about the tacos today. The tacos are so good with white cheese, so I decided to get cheese + guac. I was so excited to get home & get those tacos in my mouth, only to open up the bag and see they had put the tacos into an overly large container instead of wrapping them in foil. If the tacos are going to look like this by the time you get home then they definitely shouldn't be packaged this way. Disappointing as hell.

There doesn't seem to be a general sense of customer appreciation here; low employee moral perhaps. Just a palpable indifference to customers and orders and provision of warmth. Every order took a little too long to place. The preparation was lightning fast; like an automobile assembly line. Your number was shouted joylessly, quickly repeated. Where was the: pride of service? Not subservience; just joy in sharing the dining experience. The place is drafty, like a subway station. The art is the ugliest I can recall. Get real art, and hang it at eye level. Lengthen the lighting chains, to participate in the would be ambiance. Move the cashier counter back, give the staff friendly pills, buy some palms. Play some pleasant flamenco music and throw in some free chips. The food could use some sprucing up...

This place is a good, quick service for tacos kind of place. Do not expect homemade tacos or street taco flavors. the service is good and they ask of modifications if wanted. the nachos are good, they include beans, meat, cheese and guacamole. The chip are not stale and the meat is cooked well and tender. The portion is okay, not as big as you would like it, but i did order it to go so maybe that made is smaller to fit the box. the condiments are on the side so you can grab whatever you want

Today I at 2:00 pm ..we ordered two burritos special order and the cashier was rude and uneasy about us ordering special order burritos..,she did not want to listen my special orders and that really bothered her ..we as loyal customers demand better service for we are frequent customers...we asked for the manager to make a complaint and she refused ..so we left and will not come back again

I've been coming here for awhile because of DoorDash deliveries. I wanted to see how their Mexican Hamburgers were like. After trying one, I found it to be incredibly delicious, especially with their green salsa dipping sauce and onions with cilantro. You really can't go wrong with them. It's a huge step above some other hamburgers you can get at McDonalds or Burger King. I'm a big fan of Mexican food so that may have something to do with it but nonetheless, they're freakin bomb. Gonna be ordering more of those in the foreseeable future.

Came to this establishment to get food . I asked the lady at the front ISABEL for a mask, since I could not seem to find one , she automatically turned and looked at me to get out at the restaurant completely yelling in the middle of the restaurant . I asked her for her name and declined on giving me her name, I fully understand about mask policy but to start yelling at a customer to get out was completely unnecessary, I would never set a foot in this place ! I can't believe such an establishment will treat there paying customers in this way !

Tacos el Unico will always be a fav. I've spent countless nights both alone and with friends chowing down on hot tacos de asada with tons of red sauce. I like to order mine with the meat extra well-done to cut down on the sometimes chewy parts you can get in your taco. They have a huge salsa bar where you can pick up some toppings including onions, cilantro and peppers, along with red, green, and habanero sauce. I haven't tried much else besides the tacos and quesadillas but I would stand by their entire menu being good. Parking is always a breeze thanks to them having their own lot around back. Tons of seating space inside in case you want to dine-in. They're open until 12pm on weekdays and 3am on the weekend which couldn't be more convenient for students or late-night snackers. This place will always be a go-to when I'm craving some fast but good street tacos.

I been coming this location always nice service BUT today Saturday march 19 at 11:45 am the Girl took my order by phone was Rude when I pick up my order the cashier was so Rude and horse playing with the cook guy ignoring me, management should be train how give a better customer service

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. They didn't check who they gave my post mates order too. When my Postmates driver arrived they didn't want to give her the order. I called and asked to speak to the manager and she said he only knew Spanish I said okay that's fine and then she proceeded to tell me oh he can't take your call. I tried to explain to her the situation and she kept talking over me, hung up, and they disconnected their phone line. How rude. Even my Postmates driver had a bad experience with them. Whoever was on shift tonight on April 2nd should definitely get retrained for better customer service skills.

Food is OK not great not bad just OK. Some of the customers are super rude. Avoid coming by on Tuesdays that's when all the taco eating assholes come out. I'm sticking with Leo's. At least their customers are nicer on Tuesdays.

I was kind of skeptical about giving this place a go because of the amount of not so appetizing looking pictures. To my surprise the food was actually good and the service was amazing. Came in tonight for a quick bite and they were really busy but I ordered and received my food all within 10 mins. The wet burrito was actually good the beans and rice were flavorful and the meat was juicy and tender. I also ordered a chicken taquito that was amazing I will definitely be back and order the full plate of chicken taquitos. I did however was kind of upset because the floor was very sticky but nonetheless everything else was clean.

The carne asada fries here are pretty decent. It's pretty bare bones though. It's literally just the fries, asada, and cheese. After that you have to pay extra for things like sour cream or guacamole. Which usually comes standard for a lot of other places. That being said they're pretty decent. I don't mind it being bare bones because I like it like that with usually just some onions and maybe avocado. It's a tasty treat. They're cajeta churros are really good! It comes with this filling inside that's creamy and delicious! I really like them. And I would definitely go back just for them! That's all I've had there so that's all I can say but overall the food isn't bad. I just think they should add some other things on the asada fries for them to be 100% worth the price. Right now it's worth like 87%.

This place has really gone downhill. This place in the late 90's early 2000's was the bomb!!! They think there like a big chain with the way they do things!!! Come on you have closed more locations then you have opened in the last 10 years!!! Actually they haven't opened any just closed a bunch!!! Why??? The food quality is terrible the service sucks and they don't try anything to better it!!!! I have called the corporate office to try talk to to the owners and the son that runs everything has a terrible attitude and is mr. Know it all!!! He should be ashamed he has literally run this place down that his dad built!!!!

At first I didn't like this place my friend brought me here a few years ago and I wasn't a fan I tried the carne Asada fries and nothing compared to others I've had to make them good you have to add the sour cream guacamole and they easily turn into 12-14 $ fries Anyways I decided to try them out a few more times and I got to try the wet burrito which I really liked in my opinion the red sauce is better The tortas are really good the mini is honestly a really good portion alone But My favorite is goin to have to be the tacos de lengua I'm very picky with lengua cuz not a lot of places know how to cook and clean it properly Here it's very flavorable clean and cooked properly I literally crave them I get the big taco 3.50 a taco Salsas are very spicy here lol I took a star off cuz it is true they never answer there phone I asked in person if they take phone orders and they said yes so I had gottan off work and I call to do pick up and the phone never got answered finally when they answer they put me on hold for 8 min and I could hear everything they were talking about !! Not work related I ended up driving up there anyways and I ended up just hanging up so ridiculous Anyways food is good a little pricey but good

Food is great. Customer service needs some support. Convenient because it stays open later than other places in the area. My go to's are: 4 chicken tacos with crema on the side. Asada fries with crema... ooooo saucy. Very great place def recommend.

Tacos El Unico is the best discovery near USC yet, with competent, fast working staff, a clean environment, and fresh food that is made to order. I come here at least once a week because its so versatile for meals. Breakfast? Get the breakfast torta with your choice of meat. It's basically a burger with a fried egg, guac, beans, and meat for around $5 and its perfectly filling. Lunch? I actually love the mini mexican or normal size mexicans which are also a burger type with mayo, chopped lettuce, cheese, your choice of meat (I usually go for carne asada). This is so delicious I'd honestly say its like a mini in-n-out burger, so flavorful and not dry at all. This place is also open super late and on fridays and saturdays until 3am! The tacos are great and you can ask for them with no condiments so you can put them on as you please on the full bar filled with green and red sauce, onions, cilantro, and limes! I've yet to see it lacking any of the items. It is always fully stocked and super organized with togo sauce containers and plastic bags, SO thoughtful! The service is always good. My roommate is vegan and asked if their beans are made with lard. Normally someone working at these types of places would be 1) rude and annoyed at such a question or 2) be completely unknowledgeable. The woman was patient and went to go ask about the lard content only to come back and say there was none. yay! The woman at the counter is always helpful and understanding when you don't want tomatoes or onions or cilantro, and she always gets it RIGHT. You can even customize a burrito if you wanted to, as I did once when I wanted a purely bean, rice, and cheese burrito, which is not on their official menu. Come here for a slightly more expensive meal than your regular taco truck, BUT a nice place to sit, full bar, and extremely helpful and competent staff. Also helps that they have wonderful caramel and creme filled churros for dessert or if ice cream is more of your thing, baskin robbins is next door. Love tacos el unico so much!

I'm sure the food was delicious but I couldn't tell as one of the workers named Stephanie left a really bad taste in my mouth. She was very rude I asked her for hot sauce she gave me mild sauce I asked her again for hot sauce and she said is that not hot enough for you? I told her lady please just give me what I asked for you got the hot sauce and threw it on my tray. I spoke with the manager about what had happened and he acted like he did not even care they just carried on he didn't say a word to her he gave me the look like so what. From now on I will travel to the elk Unico in Compton where they know how to treat their customers that's the one I normally go to anyway.

The food is mediocre but the incredible red salsa makes it a 5-star, totally satisfying experience. So why the 1-star review? Well they stopped giving the option to order extra salsa and started skimping on the bare minimum that's supposed to be included in the order. If you're going to stop giving me salsa, guess what? I'm going to stop giving you stars. Without the red salsa the food here is dry and bland. I wouldn't care if they charged extra as the salsa is that good, but as it stands now, it's Russian roulette as to if you'll get any salsa on your doordash/postmates/grubhub order at all. Bummer because I dream about the red salsa here and would probably order once/week if they didn't skimp so much. They used to literally provide huge pouches of salsa to drown your food in - and now they don't even give the tiny plastic containers. I thought we had something special Tacos El Unico but you're just like the rest.

Their street tacos are so bomb! With the red spicy sauce makes it even better. I wish I could bottle the sauce and rake it home. I've been craving it for a week think it's time time order. Tacos taste like a taco stand in TJ. Fire ass tacos

The females their talk to much the guy that made my food used stale ass rock hard bread and the fries was nasty look at your food and try before leaving not worth my money what a disappointment and I got 3 Tortas with stale ass bread & I love their tortas never gonna go their again and I tried to call to complain I think they blocked my number :/ never again

I never understood why it's hard for a known restaurant to get the order correct. I asked for two chicken tacos (for my son) with no Salsa, and that's the main thing they put. Why? The order clearly says plain. I asked for asada fries and they barely put any asada on them.

I tried to give this particular location a third shoot on good service, but all three times I've been here, the service has been HORRIBLE. And there is a young latino male. Short. And works mainly evening shift. That has tattoos on his left arm, he's soooo rude and with no good customer service. I had to wait almost 25mins for one plain churro and a medium drink that he forgot that he put it under the cash register which had gotten cold and awful. When I asked the young man to make another one(which took an additional10mins) he snatched the churro from the counter with such a bad attitude and rolled his eyes. And when the new churro was ready, he put it on the counter without any apology or have a nice evening. Nothing. Be makes the store look bad. I will never return to this establishment again. Ever.
