Rip off, were charge $5/p for beach seating (we were not told about charge until bill came), no other restaurant in SJDS area charges for beach seating. Worse yet chairs were wet and we had to get our own. Beers were not cold and service was nonexistent. For a lousy time come here!

The restaurant's staff definitely delivered a great experience. Prices are competitive, and portions were awesome. Had a fish ceviche myself, and I can attest it was fresh and delicious. Read a lot of negative reviews, but nothing from those comments came to happen while I was there. I was charged just as much as the menu. I will definitely return to this restaurant on my next trip to Playa Maderas. This place is a hidden gem

Scam! Language barrier but we both spoke enough English and Spanish to understand each other. Said for umbrella and chair we had to spend $5 per person on the menu. Also said coffee was free refills, agreeing “Si” multiple times when asked “mas cafe es gratis?”. I got 250 cordobas chips and salsa to spend our $5 requirement. I got the bill and I got charged $5 for the chair, charged for the refill AND charged double the price for the chips and salsa. They also refused to list the prices in cordobas which their menu was in. I paid for the chair and refill (an extra $7 USD total) because, what can I do there if they insisted that’s what they communicated to me, but I DID NOT pay their double the price chips (an extra $5 USD). Wish I read all the negative reviews before coming and yes no wonder it was empty there. Don’t come here if you don’t want to be charged an extra $12 USD+ on your bill🙄 The restaurant across from it charged our family $7 USD for four chairs and an umbrella for the day. Go there! Much better than our $20 USD for four and two umbrellas.

Lovely Restaurant! Ate here two days in a row - try the homemade tacos they were very yum and huge - make sure there are two of you. The enchiladas were also really yum! Staff were lovely, not pushy and we had the perfect spot in the sun all day. Would definitely recommended this restaurant! Definitely not scammers like the last review says, :)

FOOD POISONING RISK! I ordered the chicken kebab last night for dinner. Upon arrival not only was the whole meal cold, including the chicken the “mashed potato” was out of a packet. Then we discovered the chicken was RAW! After asking for a different meal they bought back the same vegetables with the heated up chicken. The manager was rude and did not take the raw chicken seriously enough, as well as saying the packet mash was ‘fresh out of the packet today’. If my girlfriend hadn’t been able to speak Spanish I believe they would’ve taken us even less seriously then they already had done. Awfully overpriced food and even worse customer service. We would strongly suggest to not eat here.

For a post surf cerveza or some food, Tacos Locos is a great beach side bar!

While in-between surfs, I came in for what I thought would be a quick meal (chicken sandwich). The guy that took my order kept telling me "one minute, one minute, one minute". After 85 minutes of waiting, I walked out. The restaurant was not busy with only one other group eating.

Everything has already been told in previous comments. Only thing I would say is that if your a good negotiator you won't pay the stupid tax he will ask you. He wanted to charge me 620 instead of 555 cordobas. I payed 555 :)
