Tacubo

One of the worst restaurant I’ve ever visited in Tokyo with a Michelin star. Definitely avoid. When you pay more than 10,000 JPY/pp for dinner, you would expect something fancier than unknown vegetables, sardines, cod roll(?). The services is bad. The workers in the kitchen seemed eager to go back home as they were closing and cleaning when we were still at our last dish(main course). And they definitely discriminate against people who don’t speak Japanese. The chef was unbelievably arrogant and rude. The presentation was done haphazardly by the workers and the food tastes really awful and salty. After the dinner, we asked to speak with the chef. He seemed nonchalant and didn’t even care. No apology, no comforting, just arrogance. We thought that you should know. Don’t believe in what they say in Tabelog or TripAdvisor. We have the photos for you to see for yourself. Believe me, avoid. There are many more good restaurants in the city.

The food with pairing wine was really good taste with talking to Takubo san. Awesome.

This was a scam. We walked in, thinking that it was a great place to have a good dinner. We ordered ala carte items, have decided not to go with the set. We ordered : 3 sides, 2 pastas, 2 mains. The total amount was approx YEN 400,000 from my calculation. However, the bill was DOUBLED. Shocking isn't it? And you know why? They have 1.5 x and 2x our portions (because we had 3 of us dining in) I am perfectly okay if you wish to 1.5x and 2x our portions, but YOU NEED TO INFORM AND LET US MAKE THAT DECISION. It is really not up to ANYONE in the kitchen team, FOH team to make that decision because you are not the one footing the bill! It was atrocious and it was the most unpleasant experience ever. I couldn't believe that any reputable restaurant will do that. This is quite a scam isn't it ??? So thats why, in the end, my bill was DOUBLED. Worst worst worst to be in. And guess what, the food was average. Merely average. the only thing nice about this place is probably the expensive reno- which is not worth my bill. Very very disappointing!

I have been there a few times and I would give this restaurant a 4.5 star. Everything was really tasty and the skills of the staffs are solid. I really like how the chef pay so much attention to grill the beef and I enjoyed it the most every time I go there. I also like the bread and the medeleine at the end too!

Happy dining experience. The host gave us a beautiful flower as anniversary gift! So touching! I will visit it again and again.

Really interesting twist on Italian food with a Japanese perspective. The pasta and beef dishes were my favourite. Great wine list as well. Location is a bit hard to find. It's on a side entrance underneath/next to an outdoor stair case.
