Two negatives - sandflies and slow or non-existent internet. Otherwise, this is a great place for a short and value for money getaway. Beautiful, virtually private beaches with white powdery sand and crystal clear waters are the main draws. Rooms are clean and functional while basic, all amenities including a/c and hot water working well and TV with in-house movie selection. Food was ample, varied and tasty (sambal belacan was delightfully spicy) although no ala-carte selections. Service was excellent and attentive from check-in at Tanjung Leman jetty (1.5 hrs from JB, ample and seemingly secure parking) and throughout our stay. The jungle trek ended with a mini-waterfall and was a good workout with uphill climb mostly. We decided not to join the snorkelling trip as we could not imagine a 1.5 hour outing with 60 people to be particularly relaxing. Tried to get a private boat for our group but none available. Next time, we will try to make advance bookings with some boatmen when we come again, which we will.

We stay at this place during weekdays, thus there's only 3-4 family at the resort.||||The beach is so beautiful, calm and clear. The room is huge. The food is so nice and portion is big. We're lucky that they did not serve buffet so we always have fresh cooked dishes. ||||We took the Deluxe sea view - The view is just stunning. You're really a steps away from the beach. ||||Staff are friendly and very attentive to you. ||||For snorkeling trip - I've been to Pulau Lima Besar on 2017, and i remember how pretty it was, but this time its unbelievable that the beach is full with dead corals. It's very saddening to see. ||||Karaoke room - they charge RM10/head, if I remember it correctly.||||Probably will return as I'm really in love with their beach.

This has been the worst resort I have ever stayed and believe me, I have travelled a lot. We were informed the water was limited due to lack of rain in the last year but even during the appointed hours there was no water. However the worst thing is the bed bugs and sand fleas. On the second day some in our party were suddenly covered with sand flea bites so we thought that was the problem but when we returned the bites increased and it turned out we brought home bed bugs. ARGHHHH!!!! What a nightmare.|Then the food: wow, this is bad. A tasteless buffet and at breakfast not even fruit. Also on our first day we overslept for the breakfast and when we asked for some food between breakfast and lunch - off course willing to pay for it - the kitchen did not want to make anything for us. Can you imagine a hotel or resort where it is impossible to get anything to eat? Well that is the TAd Marine Resort. And then when you get something, it is really bad.|So after our fruitless search for food on the resort we returned to our room to find our rooms still a mess. When leaving for the snorkeling trip at 14.30 the room was still not cleaned and upon our return still not. Before dinner I went to the reception to report this and kindly asked if they would clean the room or at least bring us some toiletpaper and clean towels. Upon return there were 2 new rolls of toiletpaper. And that was it. Really???? So after the water trouble, the food issue (not being able to get anything to eat until 12 AM) and no room cleaning, when we finally requested a really normal thing (and we did not complain!) for the rooms to be cleaned during dinner we only got two rolls of toiletpaper..... I kid you not!|And the horror was not over. After the insect nightmares, the food disaster and water problems there was no beach anymore as the sea washed the beach away. We were informed the november sea would bring back the sand. As if I would ever want to return here....|We had booked a 3 night stay but when we decided we wanted to return home to Singapore 1 day early (mostly because of our really bad experience) and asked for the times the boat would depart for the mainland we were given 2 departure times and booked the 11 AM boat. We informed the hired driver and car to pick us up based on the given time. Upon departure it turned out there was no 11 AM boat. There was supposed to be a 11.30 boat but even that boat did not depart at that time. We finally arrived 1,5 hours later at the ferry terminal than supposed to and had to pay our driver extra waiting time which off course was not compensated by the hotel. I have never ever experienced such a bad resort and so little effort to make things right. Oops, I said little effort... I meant none!

Booked to stay here for 3 nights after doing a lot of research online, when we found this island/resort we thought it was just what we were looking for. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Firstly, this resort is selling something it is not, you could almost suggest false advertising.... There is no turtle sanctuary on the island, no diving and no 'live coral or abundant marine life', which were advertised and some of the main reasons we wanted to visit this island! ||||||Some of the Pros: ||Staff are friendly/try to be as helpful as possible whenever we needed anything. ||The island itself is beautiful - the water is crystal clear and the sand is like white powder. ||||Cons: ||Snorkelling trip was poor - we were left on island for an hour and not told how long we would be there or what was really going on. All the coral was dead and we saw minimal fish. ||The island is Supposed to be protected - we paid a marine park fee to enter the island, however there is plastic everywhere on the beach and no sign of anybody clearing it up. (We paid the same fee for perhentian islands which was much cleaner & we saw locals cleaning the beach) ||Food - very limited and full of salt. Very similar for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Chicken nuggets & chips for breakfast?! Everything we ate was cold. Table clothes were filthy and I don't think they were changed once in the 3 nights we stayed here? ||Disorganised - although staff very pleasant, nobody seems to know what's going on. ||Construction site when arrived - big blue metal fences around pool / noise all day - we were not given any prior warning of this when we booked to stay so we were shocked when we arrived. ||Pool - although main pool is clean there are so many tiles missing / loose on the pool floor. Children's pool & jacuzzi green/ very unclean. ||Cleanliness of room - Hairs in bed and sink when arrived. No chairs on balcony. ||Booked a massage for 6pm and told the massage lady would come to my room to collect me, waited 10 mins and no sign of her so went to the reception and was told she had changed her mind and would rather do at 8pm, so I cancelled. Disappointing - don't agree todo something then change your mind. ||||I believe this is a really honest review of the resort. Compared to other hotels and islands we have visited in Malaysia and Asia we were left really disappointed & glad we had only booked 3 nights.

There's no water in our room. Food was very limited, because it's a buffet so if you're late there is not much food for you. There's a lot of sand fly near the beach, you have to constantly spray bug repellent that they provided. Apart from those, the island is genuinely great very peaceful and with a great view. Not much activity to do over there, so if you're looking for a peaceful getaway this is the place for you.

We just returned from a long weekend stay at the Tad Marine Resort. I had to double check the positive reviews on Tripadvisor as we came back with a pretty negative impression.||||While the resort is located at a very picturesque beach, it disappointed quite a bit. Our room (beach chalet) was clean-ish, but quite basic with a poorly designed bathroom where the shower sprayed across the entire (tiny) bathroom. The AC, while powerful, was very noisy.||||The staff was rather surely and unhelpful. For example, wifi was not working during our entire stay and their reply was basically a shrug and the helpful advice to 'keep trying' as there were 'too many people in the resort for the system to handle'. Other hotel guests had the same issue.||||The resort grounds are poorly maintained and the whole place has a shabby, dilapidated feel to it. Garbage was not picked up properly, and there was a large active construction site close to the (nice) pool and a large abandoned construction area on the other side. Peek around the kitchen building and there's an almost shocking amount of garbage and broken 'stuff' strewn all over the place.||||The worst though was the food. It was buffet style with a Malay/Chinese tilt and unfortunately highly repetitive, greasy and laced with instant flavorings. Sometimes we almost didn't know what to eat (again) save for a salad, which mercifully was available at every meal. It's a real shame as the dining area is under an awning directly by the beach with stunning views.||||But OK, the purpose of the trip was to enjoy the beach, which is indeed very nice with fine, almost white sand and clear, warm water. It is kept relatively litter free by hotel staff. However, wander away from the resort and the beach is strewn with plastic debris and other garbage. Not the resorts' fault, of course. Beware of the sand flies though - while the resort provides repellent, the flies are highly aggressive and we all had numerous painful bites all over our body after we left...||||To be clear, we didn't expect a luxury resort, but overall it is highly overpriced, poorly managed and very disappointing. There are definitely better choices in the region.

No doubt that Pulau Tinggi is a wonderful island and white sand beach surrounds it. Stayed here for 4D3N and thank you to Ms. Chloe, you're so helpful and fast response by helping me to quote the price, last minute additional pax and so many more! ||||I have to admit this place is quite a bit overpriced for some, but please consider that all the cost already includes meals x 3 times, boat transfer, and snorkelling trip x 2. There's also a variety of room types to choose accordingly. I took the sea view chalet where you can just witness the bright blue sky, clear water beach and white sands just beneath your door. ||||Staff were helpful. Upon arriving at the jetty, they will help you to load your luggage to the boat and until your room door. They are friendly too.||||Our room complete with basic amenities. The bathroom seems newly renovated and spacious, water pressure is perfect, coffeemaker, satellite channel, airconditioner function well. They clean our room daily! ||||Perhaps during our stay, there's only 8-9 guest so the food is served on the table instead of a buffet. I must say, the meal time is the time that I am waiting for haha. The cook is really good and tasty. ||||Nevertheless, I hope they're checking the mattress because somehow, I am not sure if there bed bugs or it is just us (because we got the sandflies bite but not so much on our body) but we do feel itch before sleep and the marks are different from the sandflies bites. ||||Thanks to Farah, the sweet girl who served us at the cafe all the time and always providing us 5-star service.||||I also hope they upgrade the wifi services as we can't receive any receptions there. Celcom & Maxis is okay but somehow I am afraid that people can't reach you thru phone during an emergency. ||||- The swimming pool is huge and kids friendly. Close at 11 pm

What i definitely recommend would be to strategically plan when you’d like to go. I was told by a staff at the resort that the beach on the island presents itself differently at different times of the year. I went in early August, so the was no ‘beach’ per se. Only when the water was at low tide (sand was damp, not possible to lay and tan) , other than that it was water up to the palisades. However though, with it being a marine resort there was so much trash laying around on the sand -clumped around the palisades. Regardless, it was still a beautiful view. ||The food was relatively alright, one of the better ones compared to the surrounding islands, you’ll have a variety of options. |The room was clean and simple, cosy enough for two. |Loved how they provided insect repellent all around the compound of the resort. ||There is a hiking adventure available at the resort. However it was a simple walk. We walked up to a non-existent waterfall- we weren’t informed that it was dry season prior thus ended up hiking to stare at dry rocks. ||We also went for two snorkeling trips. The first time, we were left alone to do our own exploring. However for the second trip, we would like to thank Zack for showing us around. He allowed us to see so many different creatures of the ocean. ||Overall, I definitely enjoyed myself. |I would recommend to go there but do check with the resort regarding the tides.
