A charming, slightly exotic tea house tucked away at the end of a quiet passageway. They offer light dishes such as borscht, pastries, and a wide selection of teas from around the world. On cold days, the Russian tea served with jam is comforting. The floor seating is well known, but I personally prefer the tables by the window, as I don’t enjoy taking off my shoes. Service is efficient, the staff speak English, and reservations are recommended. A lovely place to warm up on a cold day in Berlin.

Really nice and atmospheric tea room with fine quality teas. We tried Russian Smoked tea which was very strong but quite unique and roobos tea which was great. It is nice that they give a pot so you can top up. The tea menu is quite good and varied with details about each tea. It was difficult to find a good place to sit though and when we went it was very crowded which made it loud there and service was a bit slow. It ia definitely an enjoyable experience though and hope to visit again.

Disastrous experience! Awful customer service and nothing traditional except the decoration. - Right after entering, you'll be welcomed by a smelly shoe-rack and a message telling you to wait for someone who will get you seated. It would have been fine if we didn't end up waiting more than 10 minutes with that horrible foot smell. I strongly recommend you enter, take pics of the beautiful room, and leave. It won't get better than this. - A very apathetic woman came to get us seated. It was 18:15 and she said the table is booked at 19:00 so we would have to leave when the customers arrive. The table next to us was free and not booked, so we don't exactly get why she chose to put us on the booked table instead of letting us enjoy the place longer. - The next surprise was the menu. This is a Tadjik tea house, but all the foods are Russian specialties. There are barely any Tadjik teas offered. There is a page for traditional worldwide teas, which is cool, but where was the page for Tadjik teas? There is also beer and totally unrelated products. - Someone finally arrived to get our order at 18:40 even though we tried to make eye contact with them while they were walking up and down the hallway. They seem to purposely ignore us. Once we finally talked with someone, they just listen and nod, as if it costs money to talk. We don't feel welcomed to ask questions or for advice. - We got our food and teas. The food (some raviolis with meat) was clearly bought frozen, it wasn't freshly cooked. The tea of my friend tasted like diluted orange water served in a normal see-through glass. My tea was served in a cool way, with a little tea pot and a nice cup. At least one good thing, even though the little biscuits they put as decoration were dry and not edible anymore. Definitely not worth the price. - The customers who had booked the table arrived 5 minutes after we got our order, and the waitresses had installed other people on the last free table next to us. The place was packed and they started to look at us as if we had commit murder. Some people coincidentally left some minutes after, so they didn't tell us to leave. And good thing, because I wouldn't have gotten up anyway. It is not my fault they can't organize their place. - We were done eating and wanted to leave. Same problem as before, it's impossible to get their attention to ask for the bill. After waiting 15 minutes (we checked the time), my friend went to look for a waitress and both of them were chilling, leaving the customer room with no service. she arrived with an attitude, as if we are an inconvenience. - Both toilets don't have locks. - You can only pay by cash. The waitress couldn't calculate the right resto, and given the experience we just had, I was determined to get all my money back, even if it was only 10 cents. She didn't thank us, wish us a good day or even said goodbye. Don't waste your time here.

🌿 The teahouse has a really lovely and authentic atmosphere, perfect for a cozy afternoon. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciated. 💵 However, we were a bit disappointed with the quality of the tea menu. We ordered the two-person Russian tea ceremony (8,80€ per person), which included a samovar with black tea and some snacks. Unfortunately, the cookies didn’t taste fresh, and the additional items like raisins, candies, and the small vodka shot didn’t feel worth the price. The tea itself was quite basic, similar to Turkish black tea. While the ambiance and service were wonderful, the overall value of the tea menu didn’t meet our expectations. ⭐⭐⭐

From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, providing excellent recommendations based on my preferences. The atmosphere, the food and the workers were super nice. We had a great time, good food and good drinks!!! Would recommend.

I and my friend had Russian tea there. It was a new experience for me. The seating place is something different and comfortable for people who prefer to sit on the floor. The service was decent. I loved it. Worth trying once.

We ordered a bliny with cranberries, bliny with salmon, Russian homemade cake, and 2 teas. The food was average, nothing special about it. The tea tasted nice, and its presentation was nice as well. The floor tables and place decor is lovely. What made my review drop is the service. We changed tables during our time there. the waitress, who took care of seating us and taking our order, implied (when we ordered the bill) that we ordered food at the first table and didn’t pay for it. I believe she could have made sure of what we ordered in different ways rather than implying that we weren’t telling the truth.

Came here in a cold winter during the winter last year, this was a quite a unique experience. The tea room is situated in an alley so it was a little secretive to find. We didn't make a reservation but were seated pretty quickly. The decor here is so cool, lots of red accents, carpets, and elaborate patterns. Seats here are floor seats so you have to criss cross and sit on the mats. For food, I got tea and it came with raisins to put in the tea, which was interesting because I had never seen anything like it. The biscuits were also pretty yummy, soft and not too sweet. For entree, I got bliny with salmon filling. It was soft and filling, there was a good amount of salmon. A very unique experience in Berlin!

This authentic Tajikistan tea house is very unique and charming. From the floor to ceiling, you will feel like you enter into a different side of the world. You have to take off your shoes before entering a tea room. There're many tea selections here. I found one that's very interesting but it serves with some vodka so i had to chose something else. My tea tasted very similar with a black Chinese tea and served with ginger jam to use to sweeten my tea. It wasn't that sweet so they gave you some honey in case you like your tea sweeter. I'm ok with ginger jam but the tea itself was pretty strong so I barely taste any ginger there. I tasted that ginger jam itself and it was delicious! My friend ordered Sencha with mango and citrus and it was really refreshing. This place is really popular so we had to come right when they were opened at 4pm. There were already many ppl waiting and if you don't have reservation, they will tell you how long you have to enjoy your tea before you have to leave. I had no problem with an hour limit. The only down side of this place was the host lady who definitely shown own her face she didn't want to be there to work LOL. Our server was nice. If you are in Berlin, I highly recommend to come here and experience the charming tea service at this tea house.

Cute little tea room is yet another cool place to check out in Berlin! They have a huge menu of teas and small dishes. I would highly recommend the vegetarian pierogies; they were perfect to share for two people and hearty enough to be worth the price. The atmosphere is charming and calming. Overall, very relaxing, however, I would recommend leggings or other comfortable clothes as sitting in tight jeans for awhile wasn't the best experience. Reminder: the tea room opens at 4PM.

My brother chose this place for dinner when my BF and I visited Berlin. 5 stars for the decor and atmosphere. They've made it to look just like authentic Tajikistan tea houses. Not that I've ever been to one but when you compare it to the photos you can find in the books they have lying around it is pretty cool. Call ahead to reserve the low tables to get the full experience. Personally I love cultures where you sit on the ground to eat. It's just so comfortable and relaxing and makes it very conducive to leisurely linger around a meal with good conversation. Let's talk about the food. Quite interesting and slightly different from what I expected. I enjoyed the dumplings my brother ordered as well as the stuffed crepes/pancakes (did they call them blini? I can't remember..) that I had. The pierogis were also yummy but it seems I prefer Russian or Polish style pierogis. These are more like empanadas. As for the tea we were a little disappointed that we couldn't do the full tea service but we did have some tea to finish our meal and this was my first time having vodka along with my tea. Very interesting and very good. The service is alright though they are in fact getting a star deducted because the lady failed to inform us that if we wanted to order the full tea service we needed to do it a certain amount of time before closing time. Having a cut off time is perfectly reasonable but it's only fair to the customers if they have a proper last call. So sadly we were not able to have the full experience. Still, all in all an excellent experience!

A completely unique and unexpectedly amazing experience... we were hesitant to come because it was freezing cold outside, and this place isn't exactly easy to find. But I'm so glad we did! You walk in and feel transported to another world full of intimacy and culture. Leave your shoes and jackets at the front and get comfortable on the pillows. We ordered a tea set that came with the tea, shot of alcohol (I got Irish cream), and ladyfingers. Be sure to make reservations in advance. We emailed them in English, and they easily accommodated us. Also, this place is hidden in a plaza square. You need to go through an arch and you'll find the cafe on the left.

it is a great place, and I cannot give it the full five stars because they do not accept credit or debit cards. Except from that, a wonderful place for a lazy and cold Sunday afternoon with tea, delightful Russian food and maybe one or two spirits :)

If you enjoy discovering new places and like to drink tea then you definitely need to come to this place! It has great tea Sortiments and a friendly staff. The atmosphere is very unique (for example, you need to take off your shoes before you go inside)

Overhyped, overcrowded and understaffed, but yet good tea. Upon entering we found out immediately that this place has probably been featured in numerous guides and lists, because the place was totally packed at an early hour. There was only one waitress serving to about 50-60 people, so obviously that was a disaster. Unfortunately she was also like a robot, with no empathy or social skills - just repeating the exact same words to everyone. Confusion also came from the fact that she asked to remove shoes, but we were actually seated at a "normal table" not the floor seating side, and the floor was an ice cold stone floor - fortunately I was able to retrieve my shoes back. Food was served before the tea, which is very strange, as one would expect tea to arrive first, and it's not really possible to start eating before you have your tea in front of you. I noticed confusion and disappointment about the same issue from the couple sitting next to us who had to wait quite a while with their food in front of them before the tea arrived. As for the tea, we had the Russian tea ceremony set, and the Russian black tea was excellent - as good as I've had in many authentic Russian places, so no complaints there. One star from this review comes from the excellent tea. We also loved the fact that the Russian tea set came with a shot of Vodka, even though it was just a tiny one (2cl) and not of the best quality. It nevertheless gave a nice touch to the overall set. The food on the other hand was nothing to write home about. The pierogi that we had were decent, but completely mediocre, the cookies that came with the Russian tea ceremony were also mostly bland and served more as eye candy than eating delight. The couple next to us also didn't seem too impressed with the taste of their Vareniki dumplings and pilov - from the language they spoke we came to the conclusion that these people were Russian so were probably comparing the tastes to the originals from their homeland. The deco of the place is fantastic and definitely creates a strong mood. If it just weren't so over popular and the service so substandard, the place could have a really strong atmosphere and it would be a lovely place to spend time in. Currently however it is a mediocre experience at best. One star for the tea, one star for the deco, and half star each for food and the nice touch of adding vodka to the tea set.

I came here especially to eat plov - middle eastern dish. I ordered borscht - beet soup and plov. Borscht came in tiny bowl (too tiny for 5eu) but it was tasty. Beets was fresh and sweet. When it came to the plov i was totally disappointed. Rice was overcooked, almoat to a condition of the porridge, lost all it's texture. Also, i've found champignons inside the dish, totally out of the recipe and completely unnecessary. Plov was unevenly warmed up in microwave, some parts was cold, some was overwarmed. It's not something freshly cooked in kazan 100%. It was looking like yesterday's leftover pre-made in steamer. It's not a plov!

I came here after dinner to have an evening tea. The tea room is only open from 1600-2300. I came at 2120 and they were already closed. The waitress said they were closed and there was one individual left in the restaurant. I double checked the door and it stated they were open until 2309. This isn't how I would recommend to run a business.

It's a nice option to have a relaxing cup of tea in Berlin. The ambiance is cool - transporting you to an unusual tea experience - Far East of Berlin! Nice selection of teas plus accompanying cookies. The cake (Russian zupfkuchen) did not convince us - they put in the microwave before serving which is a no go in my opinion. For these cold months to come - a nice place to have a cup or two!

It's kind of special to be in a Tajik tea room as I haven't yet visited countries in Central Asia former Soviet Union! Tea room interior decoration is beautiful! Hot chocolate drink Natalia with Russian vodka moskovskaya was good and strong:) You could imagine, it was afternoon and we planned other things to do. Caravan tea smelled smoked and was good. Pelmeni gratinated with cheese + salad dish looks delicious and I unfortunately ate only tasty salad. Pelmeni (kind of ravioli) was filled with meat and I forgot while ordering to ask whether it's vegetarian. It wasn't written Pelmeni is meat filled! Anyway it was my mistake as I should know in this part of Asia it's common to eat lot of meat. Service was friendly and price is averaged. For evening or diner you'd better make a reservation. We saw many tables are already reserved!

I came here back in 2009 and enjoyed it immensely then. I kept a business card and actually came back yesterday after almost 6 years since I happened to be in Berlin. Great moody atmosphere, large paintings and wood pillars with ornate detailing Delicious sweets and smooth teas. Russian samovar!! Hopefully I'll be able to return again soon!

The decor and vibe is quite nice and they bring the big tea pot out with all the toppings you can add to the tea. I enjoyed the tea part, but the main dishes were not filling enough for the price and not that exciting in their flavors. I could barely tell the difference between the 4 dishes we ordered.

Step into a fairy tale world for adults. This place is def. a bit high priced but if you anticipate that you will have a good time. Many teas, coffee and alcoholic beverages, sandwiches, piorgies, soups...The ambiance is magical. If you need to escape and relax with a friend or family, go check this place out. Upon arrival take your shoes off, find a place on the ground to sit and order with the friendly staff. They have few tables off the ground but that takes away the fun and adventure. It is family -friendly but on Monday evenings they have adult storytelling. Check their website for prices and schedule. Should you consider going to the teahouse, reservations are encouraged.

Great place for tea,not great place for food.We had some sort of baked pirogy or pockets-it looked nice but it was totally dried out and tasted as if it was heated in microwave,not much filling inside either.For the price it definetally wasnt worth it.On other hand,beautiful decoration and big selection of teas that was not cheap,but really tasty.Crowded place,so I would recommand to call and reserve table in advance.

The food isn't great and it's made worse by the fact that you have to pay a lot for mediocrity. I got a mushroom blini that tasted bland (not to mention slightly mushy) and a friend got some pierogies which were dry and lacking in flavor. We were also caught up in the storytelling Mondays business, meaning that we had to pay an extra 9€ to listen to someone tell a story. I don't know... I guess I understand how you could like this place because the interior decor does feel very nice and the tea is alright, but by the time we left, we were feeling too gypped by the pricing of the food, tea and storytelling to reflect positively on our experience.

Great atmosphere! Great tea! So, so baked goods. This is a great place to chill out from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. This traditional Asian tearoom is a wonderful place to go for an excellent pot of tea and the relaxing vibes. As an added bonus many of the teas can be ordered with a shot of booze in them such as the Irish tea with Irish Whiskey and cream. The cakes and cookies seem store bought and don't really go with the rest of the theme. They also serve food such as Borsch and light Asian fare.

Nice place that we literally stumbled upon biking around Mitte. Nice atmosphere but a bit pricy. Good service overall.
