Tae no yu

Tried their daytime mixed bath onsen. The water with rust color so the body is covered when you dip in the pool. It called “gold” soup. It’s very nice to be by the natural with viewing the waterfall while you can relaxing at the onsen. In woman side they have a clear water onsen called “silver” soup. The shower area and changing area are very neat and clean too. Do note that they don’t have face toner or cream provided, but shower gel and shampoo they have.

I had a great time at this onsen. Even though the ryokan is not big, it has many onsen pools. I love the mixed onsen facing the river and small water fall. I had lunch there after my bath. I wish that I had stayed there instead of merely going as a daytripper.

We went for day trip private bath and we are satisfied. The private bath’s view is great. Location is good as well because the bus stops directly in front of the place.

One of the newest onsen in tazawako. You can access it either by bus or car and since it's on the road it's very hard to miss. The interior is very beautiful with a lot of Japanese decorations. The rooms are Japanese style with a kotatsu table. The outdoor mix bath is the highlight of the place, you can enjoy the warm water while watching the waterfall. The food is Akita prefecture speciality with a special vegetable collected from the mountain. I recommend visiting the onsen in winter ❄️

Having experienced other onsens in the area, I think Taenoyu is the best, A must visit! Excellenct staff, Top rated services, Clean place and the onsens were all well maintained. There are two baths for women only, one for men only, one for private use and two mixed baths with waterfall view. (you can wear towel in the mixed bath) This place is one of my favourite onsens. Absolutely recommend!

Top quality service, we got the room with the view of the waterfall! Meals are so impeccably prepared (and yummy) and it is at this property we tried our first (and we like it) natto for breakfast (came in a bamboo wrap). The onsen view is superb! ||We wanted to stay at another property but it was sold out. It is certainly a blessing that we got to stay there. I would go back again

Their room should be renovated and it’s combined with Japanese traditional style and western style. They got smart TV, Bose Bluetooth speaker, air conditioner, heater, all things that you need for you. They even got a table with warmer & blanket, which is a special table that only could be found in Japan. Their restaurant got an amazing view, they organise couple to get the window seats usually. In addition, they helped us with all our luggages both move in and out, very helpful and friendly people who really looking after their guests. We were very impressed with their hospitality and services! Last but not least, their hot springs/ onsen are very good quality. They provide mixed bath in outdoor areas which you could see the waterfalls. Also, they provide free bookings for private bath (30 minutes section).

Stayed during Oct. A very popular onsen hotel in this area. There are much more attractive onsens on the right side entrance, which is for men during night time. Food is unexpectedly great and well presented for both breakfast and dinner. The room is well decorated as well while price is not high. So better book in advance as there are less than 10 rooms available.
