Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary And Cultural Village

Nice place to visite Monkeys in the nature. Good guide with a very large knowlead!

We visited the sanctuary and the monkeys are beautiful. They sit on your shoulder, play near you, etc. They’re also really active so we found that our daughter who loves animal really enjoyed it but our 4 year old and 20 month old, even our 11 year old who isn’t so much into animals didn’t enjoy it as much. Regardless it was a worthwhile experience.

Great place, we were so excited to see the monkeys, and it was definitely worth it. Once called, the monkeys will come to you, especially if you have bananas, they will jump all over you. Bananas can be purchased for 4 for 10 cedis, which is a bit expensive. They say its because of the monkeys (money grab, as you will buy bananas for them). One monkey peed down my back, and I guess its blessings they say. That was kind of funny. They are great, and we had a great time. Went back thesecond time with more bananas as we had so much fun. We in Tafi I recommend staying at Madora Lodge, this is a short walk to the sanctuary and you can buy bananas on the way

The forest-dwellers of Tafi Atome are an interesting tribe. They’re small, furry, and have long tails. They are welcoming to visitors, especially those who bring bananas, which can be purchased from normal-looking humans at the edge of the forest. The forest environment is clearly respected and kept tidy; trash cans are stationed along the trails. This place is well worth a stop if you’re in the region.

Great experience! Very short experience. You are given one banana and the monkey jumps up and eats. You take some pictures and that's it. They should make it a bit longer but amazing experience here in Ghana

Beautiful village to visit in Ghana. Great Monkey tour and also had the chance to explore the village. Recommend staying in Madora Lodge which is a brand new Guesthouse that has recently opened in Tafi Atome.

Definitely worth it, free monkeys living their best life, the human community around them. No one bothering no one. We payed 60 GHS / volunteer and got a tour through the forest by Robert, who explained about the Flora and fauna, the monkey families etc. We tipped 50 GHS and got amazing photos and videos with the monkeys. Make sure to buy bananas before I. Logbe or HoHo3 so you can attract them easily.

A great way to connect with nature. The Tafu Atome Sanctuary was better than advertised. We all enjoyed interacting with the monkeys. They were so docile. After a few minutes of feeling everyone out they began to freely come down out of the trees to allow us to hand feed them. 5 Star experience.
