These Are the Best Spirits and Cocktails to Try This Fall

"Tag + Jug Cider Co. is a unique line of ciders made from apples sustainably grown in California's Sierra foothills. The beverages are fermented and aged in old French oak barrels, like fine wines. In fact, several of their ciders are blended with wines from their Conduit and Divergent Vine labels." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Tag & Jug has our heart eternally. If you love the old school, if you love speaking directly to your winemaker, if you love local products and local ferments... If you are interested in excellent wines and ciders... Run, don't walk.

Google
What a fun surprise to find one of my favorite cideries out here! Had a really nice experience with the owner. What a beautiful tasting room location with a wonderful view. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Was just here for a crawfish boil they put on and it was amazing! Never experienced this before, was a down-home experience and also with good wine. Every time I go here I stay longer than I expect. The wines here are unique and I appreciate their natural approach, some wines yielding conventional Sonoma-grade tastes and others with unique flavor profiles. They just added a new game arcade, kid loved it and my nerd inner self also couldn't resist. Different than most wineries but refreshingly authentic, would recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Great wines & ciders and fun tasting with the winemaker. We have camped there on the property and done tastings with cheese boards for the past 2 years. Awesome experience!

Yelp
Had a reservation a year ago but had to cancel due to illness. The owners worked with us to reschedule and we were able to visit yesterday. They were an absolute joy and their flexibility was greatly appreciated. I can't say enough great things about the owners and the property. It honestly felt more like hanging out with a friend that happened to be incredibly well-versed in the world of wine. Being able to blend our own bottle and create our labels was so much fun! The four wines they had for us to taste were also fantastic, the Viognier and the Syrah in particular. If you're taking a trip to Tahoe I highly recommend scheduling a stop by here on your travels, especially if you can be there for the stunning sunsets. We will definitely be stopping by again.

Yelp
I truly wish this place was closer to the freeway / more accessible to people traveling up to Tahoe because it deserves SO much more attention. Our tasting was essentially private, the property is STUNNING at all hours of the day, and Aaron was an incredible host. We briefly spoke to his wife beforehand, and she was so kind and helpful. As a wine maker, Aaron is incredibly well educated, makes his wine tasting and processes palatable for someone like my husband who has little wine experience, but the experience is also refined enough for guests with more in depth knowledge of wine. Our cheeseboard was delicious, the patio area was fantastic for our dogs, and the relaxed environment made for such a sweet evening. Please don't listen to the reviews speaking on the Hipcamp experience. The property is set up to accommodate a few camp spots but it isn't overwhelming and doesn't take away from the winery experience. If you're pretentious, expect Napa Valley Vibes, or will complain about a little dust on you shoes, maybe go somewhere else. For the rest of you who love good wine, good people, and a relaxed environment, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Family owned and very intimate setting. My favorite is the sparkling wine - Chenin Blanc & Vionier. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommend

Yelp
We had an incredible time at their annual Crawfish Boil and Spring Wine Release Party! It was a really fun event. Delicious wine, incredible food, beautiful setting and knowledgeable staff. Kid friendly, they even have a mini arcade! We will definitely be coming back!!

Yelp
First interaction with the wine maker was not very pleasant. He was obviously stressed and we initially felt very unwelcome. Once he started pouring wine and explaining them all, he was like a different person. I honestly did not care for the wine, all fell flat in flavor for me. We will not return.

Yelp
Amazing place! My wife and I had a Hipcamp reservation and the host was great. The attention to detail for our breakfast taco kit we ordered was great. The wine tasting was like no other. During the sunset looking out into the vineyard and some of the best natural wine I've had. We had pre ordered a charcuterie board which was amazing as well. Aaron was great and this place is a hidden gem. Ran by him and his family and supporting a small family owned business is important. So yes, it's a working farm and it's perfect.

Yelp
We booked a night via Hipcamp and had a lovely stay in one of the glamping tents. We were able to enjoy a wine tasting with beautiful views around sunset. Owner is very sweet. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

Yelp
The vibe is great with the tasting room right on the vineyard! A variety of natural wines with fun stories and great flavor profiles. The owners run the tasting room and share a lot about their experiences and the history - a great place to stop

Yelp
we booked an Rv site on hip camp at this location and it was not a space it was the road there was not enough room for my 30' trailer the only way to get my trailer up there would be to back it in for about 1/4 of a mile they also had tent campers set up directly behind us and the owner was no help and unwilling to give us a refund.
