I visited during lunch and ordered a ¥3,300 lunch set, which I thought was reasonably priced for what it offered. The quality was good and the ingredients were fresh.
Service was prompt and generally high, though a bit distant — perhaps reflecting the style of a higher-end Japanese restaurant, which I can understand. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, if somewhat generic.
However, when I studied my receipt hours later, I realized I had been charged ¥4,400 instead of ¥3,300 — apparently for a different set I didn’t order. I had assumed it included service charges or taxes, but it turned out to be an error.
It’s not a large amount, and I don’t believe it was intentional, but it does leave a disappointing impression for such a well-regarded restaurant. There were only about five or six tables occupied at the time, and I was the last guest to leave, so it’s hard to see how such a mistake could happen with a single lunch order.
I had considered returning, but after this experience, I don’t think I will. It just doesn’t feel good.
