This is an airport hotel, well with some unusual obstacle of getting to it easily in a traditional sense of an airport hotel, but it serves that purposes and does so well, I think lots of people say negative comments because in general Tahiti isn't the French Polynesia paradise most people come here for and the fact they need stay here for a night to catch their flight further adds to the frustration - in all fairness we have stayed in Tahiti in the past and although it's not the prettiest of them all is still a solid island, you simply need to get away from airport and Papeete areas to experience the green hills and what it has to offer.||Now going back to the hotel - the taxi from the airport is was 1,700XPF - it is a super short ride but in no way you should do it with the luggage (look even at the final stretch right at the hotel area, and first you go around the area up the hill and curves to even arrive here, have fun with a big and heavy luggage!) - the info people leave here and on Google maps is either for people with a back pack only, or they must be referring to the old pathway from the airport (see my pictures to notice how close this was and that there was even a separate entrance for that pathway, a pathway that nowadays has welded gate that can't be moved LOL) that is nowadays permanently closed, due to some issues with the neighbor with whom this pathway was shared previously (as I was told by the hotel). It is sad as there is no other way and the taxi drivers know that. We were told either 1,700 XPF or 20 USD - so do take out cash at the ATM as it basically gets 2,000 XPF plus for 20 USD... ||The taxi from the hotel, can be arranged through the hotel, ironically ended up being more about 1,800 or 1,900 XPF - the reason being, which I have never seen this in my life, the taxi driver had a TIME METER, so before we even moved the meter went up already - it was hilarious to see that. All in all it cost call it a single $1 USD more so who cares, though I thought it would be actually the opposite, that hotel has some kind of a deal with the driver to make it less then being helpless at the airport catching a taxi.||Back to the hotel, it sells some drinks, water, snacks etc. so it's properly stacked for people with a rate arrival who take a taxi and go straight to the hotel. The welcome person was very nice, as was the morning person at the counter and the hotel arranged taxi driver. We didn't have breakfast with them as we had an early departure but I did see people doing so - it was modest options but it does work if you are hungry, otherwise you can buy some stuff at the PPT airport (it's easier in the morning than in the later afternoon).||Room - not too big, not to small - it had Netflix and Wi-Fi worked fine, didn't watch TV but I thought it was a nice feature. It was warm in the room and stuffy in the room when we arrived but the A/C did the trick, slowly but did. Bathroom piping from adjacent rooms does make noise so simply close the bathroom door for the night for a better sleep. We woke up early with a jetlag but I can see how noise can be a concerned for some people here as well as the walls felt pretty thin. ||A single night at this hotel was about $138 USD in 2024 October (booked at the end of May 2024 to give you more comparison) - yes you need to add the round trip with the taxi so call it about $160 USD at most - I think it's pretty reasonable for a "necessary evil" as the flights usually arrive ultra early to PPT from USA, or pretty late, like ours did, making it impossible to catch a flight to another island if you want to skip Tahiti. If you are staying more than 1 night in Tahiti then of course this hotel makes no sense at all - it's there and there for one purpose, to allow people arriving on the late flights to have something close and convenient and it does work well at doing so! Put your reservations to the side and trust me you will be out in no time enjoying what you came here for to FP!
