I am more than happy to write a review for Tahoma Meadows B&B. This was the first time I've stayed here and I can say, without a doubt, that I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the west side.
The cabins are charming, super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We stayed in the Boat House which could sleep two in the front room, had a separate bedroom with a queen bed, small kitchen and bath with a clawfoot bathtub. The property is dog friendly and they provided towels, poop bags, food/water bowls and a sheet to cover the furniture and pillows while you were out. The hot water was hot and the gas heater kept the place cozy and warm. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The only thing we didn't try was the breakfast, but it smelled delicious!
The property is beautiful and the owners are charming, wonderful people who really went out of their way for us! We had to check out a day early and they didn't charge us, which was super generous of them.
A storm struck the day we left and between the time we left the cabin, to the time it took to get to Truckee, the I-80 was closed and the resulting traffic jam was miles long. We sat at the roundabout leading to the highway for 3 hours, not moving. The storm continued to get worse and it was starting to get dark. I frantically started calling hotels in the area and there wasn't a single vacancy in the whole city, nor was there are room for miles around. I had my 2 children and our dog with me and we were woefully unprepared to spend the night stranded in the car.
I called Tahoma Meadows and asked if they had a room for the night. They had rented the room we had vacated already, but they rearranged things and got us a queen bed cabin. They gave us a futon for one of the kids and waited for us to make our way back to the property. We did not have to spend the night in the car, thanks to their efforts. I am so grateful for their kindness and generosity!
I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area!
