A Beautiful and Unforgettable Horseback Adventure in the Altai Mountains I did a horseback riding tour in the Altai Mountains in Mongolia in July with 6 friends for around 10 days and it was honestly one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had. From the beginning, we felt completely looked after. The tour guide, the three horsemen and the cook were all so kind, humble, and caring. Whenever we wanted to do something or anything wasn’t right, we could always talk to our tour guide and they immediately made sure we felt good and comfortable. We had such a warm, familiar feeling throughout the whole trip. We were always together, sharing moments, enjoying nature and learning so much about the nomadic culture, which made everything even more special. It was also really important to us that the horses were treated well and they truly were, which gave us so much peace of mind. You can see how much effort the whole team, and especially the tourguide Bataa, puts into this tour. They really care about their guests and about giving you the best experience possible. I would honestly do this trip over and over again. If you’re thinking about exploring the Altai Mountains on horseback, I can absolutely recommend this tour. It was simply wonderful.

We had the experience of a lifetime! Starting with Ulaanbaatar and the Naadam festival and culminating with the amazing horseback riding trek, Bataa and his team have done everything we were expecting and more. Discovering this beautiful country was a true privilege. The landscapes were ever changing, being in the vast plains, going up and down the mountain ranges, the rivers, the lakes, the glaciers… taking it all in while on horseback with a 360o view was breathtaking. Everything was very well organized, as comfortable as can be in this itinerant wilderness trek, the food was excellent thanks to the great cook and surpassed all our expectations. Another great aspect of this trip was the people we met during the trek: the horsemen, the cook, the eagle hunters, and of course our guide Bataa. Getting to know all of them and visiting some of the nomadic families was a true gift. Bataa has done an outstanding job serving as interpreter between all of us, allowing us to share our thoughts and to learn about Mongolia vibrant culture, creating bonds between all of us despite the language barrier. If you want to discover Mongolia, this is the way to do it!

From the moment we arrived, everything was organized with such attention to detail, ensuring that we had the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and discovery. Bataa made sure that every aspect of the trip was thoughtfully planned. The horsemen were skilled and incredibly friendly, guiding us through some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. The horses and camels were well cared for, and the ride through the vast Mongolian steppe was something I will never forget. The equipment was top-notch, providing everything we needed for comfort and safety, without compromising the true Mongolian experience. And don’t even get me started on the food, our wonderful cook prepared the most delicious and authentic Mongolian dishes, often right over an open fire. Each meal felt like a small celebration of local culture and hospitality. The whole experience felt like a perfect balance of community and individual time, from shared campfires to quiet moments of reflection under the starry sky. Every activity we did, whether it was horseback riding, camel trekking, or simply exploring the local nomadic culture, was fantastic. There was a true sense of connection to nature, the people, and the traditions. His knowledge, warmth, and passion for Mongolia made this trip truly unforgettable. It was an amazing experience to explore Western Mongolia on Horseback. The tour was very well organized, the horses were amazing and Bataa, the three horsemen and the cook took very good care of us. They tried to fulfill all of our wishes, were very attentive and managed to interact with everyone's needs. The scenery was stunning, we rode very nice trails. Also Bataa and his team went out of his ways to give us as many authentic mongolian experiences as possible. f.e. drinking milk vodka, trying dried curd, riding without a saddle, sleeping in a yurt, campfires (wood or cow poop), visiting nomadic families and many more. The vibes in the group were super chill, fun and caring. Bataa did a great job in translating - so we could talk to the horsemen and the families and ask all the questions we had about Mongolia and the nomadic lifestyle. I will definitely be back - this trip is unforgettable :)

Bataa is world-class guide and is truly a professional. Of any guide I’ve ever had, he is absolutely the best. His humor, knowledge, planning, and kind-heartedness is astounding. His ability to translate Mongolia>English>Mongolian without losing context (even sarcasm) made our interaction with the Mongolians so special. Putting him aside, there is nothing like Mongolia and our 18-day horse experience. My wife and I talk about it constantly and most likely will for the rest of our lives. It’s truly WILD.
