Tailor Made Tekapo Accommodation - Guesthouse & Hostel

Lovely location, just a few minutes walk to town. Close by restaurants and shops. Easy check-in process, and the place is clean. It's slightly cold though, one of the hot showers is not hot enough. Otherwise, we had a great time staying here. Tekapo is lovely in the winter!

Great stay! Very close to town. The animals are great. Common areas super cosy. We had a big snow dump during our stay and staff were fantastic and helped all guests dig cars out. Definitely will stay again!

A short walk to the main town and has ample parking on the street. Check in and out were quick and easy. The room and bathroom itself was clean and comfortable. Minor note was that the sound insulation between the rooms are not as superb, so you could hear faint voices from the other room.

Convenient location - walking distance to town centre. Clean bathrooms. Room is a bit old and heater makes a squeaky sound all night. Be prepared for it to be cold as the linen and blanket provided is insufficient. Only one toilet for a block of many rooms which is slightly inconvenient. Free tea and coffee in kitchen and plenty of cutlery plates etc. as the place is not well insulated make sure you rug up at all times.

Very clean and tidy. Self serving check in process (in the small hut by their main entrance). Kitchen and common area in the building on your left. It would be better if there are signs outside the huts/houses about where the facilities are, especially for guesses arriving late.

This is a wonderful place to stay at Lake Tekapo that has combination of both hostel and hotel settings. Just make sure you have your own Internet because it’s almost non-existent here. This place is just a 5 min downhill walk from the center of Lake Tekapo. If you are staying in a shared facility, cleanliness of common areas will depend a lot on yourself and other guest you are sharing with. We had absolutely no problem as everyone was clean and respectful. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable stay, only issue is lack of WiFi. Below is a detailed review of this property. ||Rooms: We booked a private room, which was small and cozy. The bed was Queen size, but soft and comfy. No closet space just a few hanging space. A heater and a couple of shelves. ||Bathrooms: Our lodge had 4 Rooms and shared two toilets and two shower spaces. A bit of a wait in the mornings and evenings, but nothing too bad. ||Common Facilities: The kitchen, dining room area, and Lounge are very clean and well stocked. They have two large refrigerators, two toasters, one microwave, one cooking stove, and two wash basins. Also internet was available only there. They also have a laundry facility that is very reasonably priced. They also have access to tennis courts and also provide balls and tennis rackets for playing. ||Animals: They have a few chickens, a couple of big bunnies, and two cute little Guinea pigs at the location. You can feed the animals but can’t pet them. ||Parking: They have a few parking spots available on-site, but it’s mostly street parking which is not too difficult to find around this residential block. ||Location: This place is a maximum of 6 minute walk to the Lake Tekapo business center, where all restaurants, shops, and the actual lake is located. If you drive it’s less than a minute away. However it’s still far away from the highway that you don’t hear traffic noise. Definitely 5 stars for location. ||Staff: Nice, respectful, and helpful people working around the property. They also have no answer to the internet problem, so the owner/management needs to fix it at the earliest.

The owners were up in themselves and didn’t help out with simple stuff as changing coins for laundry or help the way to the container. No isolation, really loud and warm but cold in the evening! Otherwise nice locations and atmosphere with the animals.
