TLDR: they’re the best, absolutely no contest, they’ve outclassed their closest competitors by a wide margin. Save the time, and just go here to begin with. You can thank me later. If you're on the fence about getting a semi-bespoke or bespoke suit, this place made me a believer. Hands down the best tailor in the SF Bay Area, CA. I interviewed 3 competitors, and Tailor’s Keep won the deal with their service, creativity, attention to detail, and integrity. Ryan and Anthony did a phenomenal job. I went to them with a challenge to make a black suit, but not a boring one. We ended up landing on a wide peak lapel double breasted black herringbone suit with Holland & Sherry fabric. Absolutely perfect fit and feel.

Ryan was incredible from start to finish. He made my first bespoke suit experience way easier and more enjoyable than I expected. From helping me pick the right lapel style and fabric to making subtle suggestions on the fit, proportions, and overall look — he really knows his craft. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and genuinely wants you to walk out with something you’ll be proud to wear. The entire Tailors’ Keep team was just as great — super professional, friendly, and clearly love what they do. The whole process felt personal, not rushed, and every fitting was a mix of precision and great conversation. The vibe in the shop is also very relaxed, and comfortable. In the end I created a vibrant blue flannel suit that fits like it was sculpted for me. It’s sharp, comfortable, and gets compliments every time I wear it. I will definitely come back for another suit and highly recommend Tailor’s Keep.

There are a few moments in a man’s life that define his character — for me, one was having a custom work blazer made at Taylor’s Keep. The experience went far beyond tailoring. It was a genuine exchange about style, proportion, and purpose. From the first consultation to the final fitting, everything reflected precision, honesty, and artistry. It reminded me that great style isn’t bought — it’s built. The result was so good, I came back the following year for a second. Both remain cornerstones of my wardrobe and a reminder of what true craftsmanship — and great people — can do.

I got my tux here for my wedding, and could not recommend it highly enough. It was my first time getting a tux fitted, so I had a lot of questions, and they answered all of them thoroughly. They also offered their guidance / input, which I appreciated because there were times when I wasn't sure myself. Needless to say I was glad I followed their input. They were also super professional, and were always transparent about timelines (while delivering on them). Most importantly, it was a such a fun process. The staff is clearly passionate about what they do, and they seem to strive to make their customers happy. I will be definitely going back if I ever need another suit.

Came to Tailors’ Keep for a suit for my wedding, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I don’t normally wear more formal clothing, so I am a bit of a novice in the space. We worked with Daryn, Will and Charles across multiple visits for fabric selection, sizing, adjustments, etc. Every time we came in, we were treated to unbelievably exceptional customer service. The team made the process not only easy, but really enjoyable. I didn’t feel like I couldn’t ask “dumb” questions or state my opinion freely, which made me really comfortable in my selections. The suit looked incredible, was insanely comfortable and the process was really enjoyable. It felt like I was at a friends place hanging out that happened to also be a world class tailor. Absolute 5-star experience, the guys at Tailors' Keep know what they are doing and will walk you through every little detail to get your perfect suit. Recently visited Tailors' Keep Palo Alto for a suit for my son' s wedding. The service was excellent. I like the location plenty of parking. There was a wide selection of colors and styles. I was able to match my suits with the rest of the wedding parties suits. This is my 2nd suit from Taylor's' keep. I really like the value and quality of their suits. During your appointment you have expert clothiers helping you pick out every detail about your custom suit. You can customize just about anything and their expertise helps guide you to make the perfect suit. After our measurements and selections, we eagerly awaited our suits. When we tried them on the first time, we loved the way they felt and looked. They were beautiful. After our first fitting they made the necessary alterations to make them perfect. And when we had our final fitting, they looked perfect. So happy we found the folks at Tailors Keep to make our custom suits for our special day. It was one of the best shops where I found the best presents for my husband . The quality is perfect for its value . He wears the same suit for over 2 years and it is as new one. The colors are very elegant and the stuff very welcoming they helped me very much. Thanks for quality I will come back again.

Best suit buying experience I've ever had The experience at Tailors keep was dramatically better than anywhere I've been suit shopping. The team is both super competent and also relaxed. They perfectly balance listening and also helping guide you with expertise. The design of their store is super chill as well. I always enjoyed the espresso and water to start things off. I'm already looking forward to getting another suit with them down the road! Most importantly, the suit looks awesome :)

We spent two years planning our wedding and paying a lot of attention to fine details. It's the most important day I've lived, and it was one of the most beautiful, too. One of the things I'm so glad I spent a lot of time on was the design and craft of my tuxedo. Tailor's Keep is absolutely the right call. From the first visit of "I'm just trying to figure out what I want and what I don't know" all the way to final alterations and details, the guys at Tailor's Keep made me feel cared for and respected, and they understood exactly what we were going for. They were clearly masters of the craft, and knew the ins and outs of all the fabrics we selected, the designs and shapes of the garments, and the vision for the day. The tuxedo is beautiful and well-constructed - something I can enjoy for many years. And it's uniquely mine!

Luxury is a style that looks good on everyone. Have you watched Kingsman? If you haven't, you should. Then ask yourself: Do you want your own Kingsman experience (just the tailored suit part) while being custom fit by Michael B Jordan's baby brother? Rhetorical question, because who wouldn't say yes to that?! Okay, maybe the Michael B. Jordan part was for me... BUT after coming here with a friend to have some shirts made for his tailored suit, I am seriously considering purchasing a women's custom suit from Tailors' Keep. After seeing the final product, I can finally write this review. Tailors' Keep is a gem - it just oozes with elegance and sophistication. But there's brains behind that shiny decor. I learned more about collar and cuff design and button sizes, even their origin and evolution. (And this from a gal who has spent many hours in Wilkes Bashford.) Oh, and all this with a hot espresso in my hands at all times. Truly a custom experience with all of the bells and whistles. Tailors' Keep is impeccable. In. Every. Way. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

This is an excellent tailoring shop. The staff are all knowledgeable- they take the time to understand what you want and why you want it. From there they do a good job of making sure the end result of the clothes look good. Upon delivery they took a careful look at the fit to make sure everything was right and had a great fit. If you have never done MTM or custom tailoring there may be a moment of sticker shock, however, the quality and value absolutely justifies the prices.

First experience with custom clothing -- could not have gone better. Worker primarily with Will, who did a fantastic job of educating me and helping me through the process. Highly recommend!

I got my first-ever custom suit for my wedding this past May at Tailor's Keep and could not be happier with how it turned out. Though I was unfamiliar with the process, Charles and Will did a fantastic job of educating me and making me comfortable during all of our appointments, which my wife and even our dog Otto thoroughly enjoyed. The craftsmanship is superb - the suit is by far the most comfortable I own, and the subtle details make it a garment I know I will cherish and always look forward to wearing. I can't recommend Tailor's Keep highly enough.

Place was cool liked the set up and what they are doing it's just hard for me cuz I'm in the South Bay and they are only open M-F closed on weekends For me that's a big reason I can't go with them but cool place

I just wanted to say I had the best experience with Ryan and the boys at Tailors Keep. I also own a wedding adjacent business and as a professional I was just really impressed with the whole operation from the first consultation, through the online scheduling process, to the in store experience. It was all really something to behold. I had them do me a three piece, three button vintage 60's mod suit from scratch and they really leapt at the challenge. Part of why I went to Tailors Keep, was that I didn't want it too be too kitschy, just really custom, modern and on point and that's definitely what they delivered. I don't usually shell out for nice things, but on this one it was important to me, and they really took the time and care to get it right. The suit is dope and on the day of the wedding people were really blown away. The vintage photos we did actually look like we're in the 60's, it's pretty amazing. And when all the girls were doing hair and make up, and me and the boys were still setting up and rigging lights and sound, it was the one thing that made me feel sane, pampered and like I was the groom and not the vendor for the few minutes before we walked. Also we ended up getting the same whiskey these guys have in the shop for the wedding, so once I had my big ice cube and imported Japanese whiskey in hand, I was chilling. Serious special shout out to these guys for running a tight ship and being my favorite of all the vendors we hired for our event. If everyone treated their customers like these guys do, I think the world would be a better place.

Can't say enough about the good folks at Tailors' Keep. While certainly you will have a wonderful experience if you are only looking for a suit for a special occasion, your best bet is to invest your time and trust your wardrobe with them long term. In the last year, I have commissioned everything from chinos, to sport coats, an overcoat, a car coat, and a multitude of shirts. They start out great already but keep getting better and better long term. They'll work to accommodate your own personal style as it evolves and provide you with clothes that are long term investments.

Where to begin with this amazing establishment. I had some fabric lying around for um, 20 years and I wanted to turn it into something 'someday'. Well, that someday finally happened and with Tailors' Keep, my suit dreams have come true:) I had the best experience dreaming up this suit. Ryan heard everything I said and he didn't make me feel like any of my ideas were crazy- my style is a bit quirky:) He even added the perfect final touch (of pink) to the collar before calling it finished! He made me feel so welcome and ultimately created the perfect suit for me! If you are looking for a suit (ladies, I'm talking to YOU too!) or are looking for a tailor, this is your place. It's in SF, but it's worth a flight, train ride, boat ride, if necessary Ps- the tailoring they do here is TOP NOTCH. They took one of my dresses and turned it into the perfect jumpsuit!

Hands down the greatest bespoke experience I have ever had. From the moment you walk in, you're instantly greeted by a warm and welcoming team with some of their previous creations on display. The consultation was a breath of fresh air. The team does this differently than other areas that I have been to. It was great. I learned about the team, the process, and to set expectations of the pieces I am having done. The team provided me with some inspirations and options based on specifics that I wanted on my pieces. I felt comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyed the conversation. Learning and understanding the different fabrics / patterns / what I would get the most usability out of... This was all crucial for allowing me to get a better idea of what I want to create with the team. When I thought things couldn't get better, I had my fitting. This is where you realize that Tailor's Keep sets the bar for Bespoke Suiting. From the options I chose, the team had prepared me with some other options and inspirations for my pieces ready for me on the table. I'll say, I don't remember being fitted. The conversation, the idea sharing, the vibe.. It's as if the fitting never happened. With the options that we discussed for the two blazers we designed, the team provided me with great examples, guidance / opinions and ideas to make my dream a reality. I would like to emphasize that this is not typical at other places... Fittings are long, awkward, and boring, but not here. The vibe in this shop is welcoming and incredible. My appointment went by so fast, it felt like I was hanging out with a couple of my friends. It was an incredible time. This review is for a suit that I purchased in 2017. I found this place and it's 5 star track record on Yelp and booked an appointment online. It was an easy process. Finding parking in the financial district is extremely difficult. I typically went on Saturday mornings and while the streets weren't as crowded, there were still a lot of cars parked there. I would advise taking public transportation (or be prepared to walk and arrive earlier for a longer cool-down period before your fitting) if your visit requires a fitting. The suit that I purchase from Tailors' Keep reflected a made-to-measure suit. I chose all of the materials, the design, the fit, etc. I was measured once and the suit arrived in approximately 6 weeks. Although Ryan and his team pinned me up and removed what I believed to be imperfections when the suit first arrived, it took 3 additional visits to get the suit to look and fit the way I wanted it to. At the end, I was very happy with the suit. Tailors' Keep offers reasonable pricing for suits that will eventually be tailored, exhaustively and forgivingly, to your complete satisfaction. You will also learn a lot from this experience. Per the earlier Yelp reviews, Ryan has been doing this for a long time and is an expert in tailoring. Both Ryan and Clint were unbelievably patient with me and addressed all my concerns and questions with professionalism, empathy, and most importantly, honesty. I would definitely buy a suit from them again.

I can't sing higher praises for Tailors' Keep. They made my wedding suit and it's a garment I will cherish for a lifetime. Everyone at this ship is an expert in the craft and they can work with any vision, big or small. Since they make custom clothing, the process does take some time so book early! It's definitely worth the wait though. My suit is high-quality and it fits me better than any piece of clothing I've owned. Whenever a friend needs a suit, I'm sending them to Tailors' Keep.

The Wall Street Journal described Tailors' Keep as "an intimate shopping experience that inverts the breakneck pace of fast fashion and e-commerce" (2018). They nailed it. Given the impacts of Covid on our local businesses, I love that Tailors' Keep is a small SF business. Their headquarters are literally the shop--not an anonymous corporate address. Women's tailoring is having a *moment* right now and I'm here for it. Glad TK has my back--and pattern!

I can't speak more highly of Tailor's Keep. Ryan and the crew have built an incredible space where their clear dedication to the art of craft, and the importance of every detail is evident in everything they do - along with being a bunch of warm, friendly people. I recommend TK to pretty much everyone and anyone. They offer a truly superlative experience for those interested in exploring the custom space. Given the Hick's Law situation with fabrics and choices, they've always made me feel comfortable and supported, in an unassuming way, with every step of the design process. For any rare issue that arises, they've been nothing but helpful in making things right. Their two spaces are inviting, and beautifully sharp. Every garment I've made made with TK has been incredible - especially since I lean on the bigger side of things. They also offer high quality accessories - Alden shoes, seven-fold ties, etc. I appreciate everything they do, and all they stand for. There is no other shop like them in SF, and I'm so happy they're around. Consider these folks for your next custom garment - you won't be disappointed.

This follow up review has been long over due. The experience of getting a bespoke suit was truly an eye opener. The attention to detail that Clint and Ryan put into fitting me correctly was second to none. Those tiny details like the wood grain buttons and the subtle splash of color at the buttonhole are those little things that really make a suit special. These guys really know their stuff and do everything they can to dial in the suit to your specific body type. In my previous review, I mentioned that I have a bad history with dress pants. Before coming to Tailors' Keep, dress pants just wasn't an option because of my big behind. But these guys are magicians of their craft and it was amazing how they were able to make my kaboose disappear. Shoutouts to Clint for nailing the fit. If you have any doubts on investing in a bespoked suit, don't. Because if you spend the money on a quality suit, your butt will thank you. Best of all, you'll be supporting a local business with guys that are passionate at what they do.

From start to finish, they provided a superior suit buying experience as well as an incredible product. Simply walking into the space you get a special feeling -- a curated ambiance including fine whiskey on the wall (makes for an extra special fitting), nostalgic decor that gives you that old-school-cool vibe, and of course a super well dressed staff to provide some inspiration. I worked with Ryan who couldn't have treated me better throughout the process. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients and the value of a well fitting suit that elevates your look. Ryan carefully listened to the style I was going for and offered useful, yet not too forceful, guidance. He took his time to make sure my measurements were accurate. He patiently walked me through all the customization options (there's a lot!) available. What impressed me even more was the service after the suits came in. Ryan worked with my dad (who also bought a suit) to coordinate alterations he needed done from afar. He also helped me with a last second adjustment just a couple weeks before my weeding -- no questions asked. It's these kinds of acts that take Tailors Keep to a totally different level. Beyond just selling custom suits, it's an end-to-end experience to make sure you're nothing short of stoked with the end result. This kind of thing is becoming all-too-rare in San Francisco these days, so it's a welcome breath of fresh air. I also absolutely love the suit that I ended up with. I've never really had a well fitting (let alone custom) suit -- and it's amazing how much of a difference it makes. Have always bought suits off the rack and had them tailored for, at best, an ok fit. This was my first custom suit and my own wedding was the justification for stepping it up. Could not have been happier. It fit like a dream.

There's places with good customer service, then there's places where you have such a good time you're almost sad to go. That's Tailor's Keep. I've been treated like a friend from the first time I stepped inside a few years ago. Since then they've made me several garments, and many more alterations and repairs. What impressed me the most is Ryan and Clint won't stop until it's really perfect. I'm fairly picky about my clothes, but I've never had to even raise an issue -- they've already noticed it, identified the reason, and offered to fix it. If you want a place to trust with your best stuff, or even better a place to make your new best stuff, I don't think you can do better than here.

Most excellent. Ryan Devens is gifted at making people feel comfortable the moment they step into the door. You would think there'd be some air of pretentiousness in a custom suiting shop, but none exists here. It's just a guy who helps anyone look and feel their best. My first purchase was about a year ago; a custom dark green suit made with Italian cashmere wool. It's the best fitting, most soft and supple thing I've ever owned. I always feel like a VIP when I step into Tailors' Keep. Just like the suit, it even felt like the whole experience from beginning to end was tailored to me! Daryn was very knowledgeable and professional. I didn't get to work with Charles but he's super friendly and greets me by my name during each visit. I can't wait for my next suit!

I'll be the first to admit that I am not a perfect physical specimen of man, not even close, but the fellas at Tailors' Keep were able to fashion me a suit that made me look and feel amazing on my wedding day. From getting measured to choosing the fabrics and styles to the final fitting, Clint and Ryan made sure I was comfortable and confident in all my choices. They talked to me about how I wear my every day clothes to make sure that they could make me a suit that would be flattering as well as comfortable. Of course the final product was not only gorgeous on the hanger, but fit me better than anything I have ever worn. I have a handful of off the shelf suits and they don't even compare. The best experience I could have ever hoped for. These guys are all amazing humans and took such great care of everything. I came in for a custom tux for my wedding and they made me feel like they were on my side to make me look my absolute best. They were meticulous with the details and had an expert eye and advice on what would look best. They have a customer for life with me now and I highly recommend giving them your business.

San Francisco is full of entrepreneurs, but few are cut from the same cloth as Ryan and Erik. In a town of hoodies, tech swag and sneakers, they have built something special at 1 Columbus, one precise pant rise and terrific trouser break at a time. I knew Ryan's work before I knew his name; I had seen customers being fitted in his tailored suits at Taylor Stitch, but he had since left. After a few phone calls, I found him - and his new outfit, Tailors' Keep. What followed was a six-month courtship of the perfect three-piece suit for my wedding. It had its ups (e.g. masterful lining work with a difficult fabric; a magician's adjustments to pre-wedding weight fluctuations, Ryan's beautiful work on pocket squares) and downs (e.g. my selected fabric going out of stock as seasons changed). Throughout, Ryan was thoughtful, supportive and steadfast. There are many positive experiences that I could call up, but here are three to mention about working with Ryan: 1) seeing him as stoked by a bolt of pinstripe fabric that he secured on a factory visit as when he cracked the code on how to get my vest to lay perfectly under my suit jacket. In other words, his joy for his trade is evident in each moment. 2) his integrity is omnipresent, whether it's making sure that the collar shows just-so above your suit jacket or that your fiancé/family feels acknowledged during the process. As I tried on the suit, he once brought my fiancé over to show her exactly where, how and why the seat of my suit pants needed to be altered. It was his job, he said, to not only reveal the nuances of what I could see, but also what I couldn't. 3) his word. I was lucky to find Tailors' Keep early, when it was at its other location and just getting going. At the time, I was in between jobs and trying to find a way to still swing the bespoke suit I had imagined on my wedding day. Ryan kept to the price range we agreed upon, guiding me even as we made changes along the way. This meant so much, especially as Tailors' Keep has become more known and outfits some famous customers. Regardless, Ryan shows a lot of honor in his work, right down to the stamp of my name/the date on the inside of my suit jacket. Believe it or not, this essay could be longer. So just visit Ryan and Erik. They do exquisite work and you walk away standing a bit taller and prouder in their creations. They'll keep your measurements on file and current so you can continue to grow with and go to them. That's my plan.

Incredibly impressed with Tailor's Keep. Ryan and Clint freely admitted to me that they are not the cheapest in the area, but their service and quality meet and even exceeded the expectations set by the price tag. I brought in a suit for alterations, and Ryan and Clint did a great job advising me about what alternations the suit needed. Afterwards, while waiting for my ride, they easily answered all my questions about fabrics, cuts, etc - even when it was clear that I wasn't interested (yet) in getting a custom suit. They even offered a glass of whiskey from their very impressive whiskey selection while I waiting! I was even more impressed by the quality of their alterations. Unbeknownst to me, the suit trousers I brought in had cuff buttons that allowed me to unbutton the cuff and brush away the dust. Tailor's Keep could have simply cut away the buttons when hemming the pants and I wouldn't have noticed anything. Instead, they actually moved the button with the hem. It's these little touches of professionalism that makes me come back.

Ryan and Clint did an amazing job creating custom outfits for my husband and me for our wedding, and tailored our suits to perfection. They have a truly modern sense of fashion and just know what looks good. They make it very easy to schedule an appointment online and make you feel very comfortable in the shop. They are also quite handsome so that helps :) We tell all of our friends to come here and will come back for all of our custom and tailoring needs.

Great personal experience, and the staff are attentive and very knowledgeable about fine suits for any occasion. I went in never having worn or owned a suit that fit just right, and left with the perfect 3 piece suit custom designed for my wedding. When I went to try on the finished suit, no adjustments needed to be made.

The team at Tailors' Keep was exceptional - super professional, great personalized experience, and clearly very passionate about what they do. They crafted a tuxedo for my wedding and it was perfect. I can't recommend these guys enough. I won't go anywhere else for custom suits now.

If you're like me, you care about quality. When it comes to material goods (clothes, household, etc), I try to purchase infrequently and only spend on something that I consider a valuable investment (quality x cost x lifetime value). So, when it came time to buy a suit, I did my research and found these guys. From the first meeting, they were both willing and excited to educate me and answer all of my questions in detail. They were patient as I did my research. They were helpful in prescribing helpful options and consulting but allowing me to make the final call on what I wanted. I was so pleased with the service to this point that I decided to order two suits! The suits and the shirts came in the time promised. The fabric, buttons, lining, stitching, etc. were all great. These guys don't mess around. Things didn't fit perfectly upon arrival, and I did not expect them to as this stuff takes some finesse. They marked up the suits, and I waited a week or so to hear back. Once they said they were ready, I came back and tried them on again: still not right. At this point, I was feeling a little fatigued, but given the time and money invested (+ my trust in these guys), I persisted. And they met my persistence with persistence in getting the fit right across the board. It took a lot of time on everyone's part, but these guys delivered on what they promised. Their service, rapport, commitment to quality and craftsmanship are impeccable. I am totally impressed with the team, and I recommend them highly to anyone considering new garments.

I came here with 4 weeks to go before a wedding and needed a suit to wear. Ryan and Clint let me know that they could accommodate me but there's also a chance (there's always a chance) that I wouldn't get my suit on time. The fact that they were even willing to try was great! The great thing about getting a suit from Tailors Keep is that you get to make all of the choices (from the fabric down to the number and hue of the buttons) - I ended up with a classic navy blue tick-weave suit which fits great and looks fantastic. So happy I came to Tailors Keep for my first made-to-measure suit. I'll definitely be back!

The place I trust with my suits. Ryan and his team are very friendly and accommodating. Very chill, yet professional atmosphere. The space is beautiful. Has a warm and cozy feel to the place. I do not know what to say that could compel you to try Tailor's Keep other than it is perhaps one of the best experiences I have had in getting a suit. Ryan, the tailor I worked with, is an easy going, relaxed and approachable fellow who is eager, patient and enthusiastic in getting things right. There are tons and tons of fabrics, patterns and materials to choose from and Ryan helped me narrow down to what I wanted and needed. He also helped me with an unspoken degree of assurance, offering suggestions and words of encouragement, helping me feel that I was not making any mistakes and that my suit will come out as how I envisioned it. I came to Tailor's Keep looking for a suit and left with so much more. I look forward to more suits / shirts / custom clothing from Tailor's Keep.

Just got back with my first ever bespoke suit and shirt from Tailors' Keep. I loved how everything came out. Perfect fit, delivered on time, and I looked so good! The whole experience couldn't have been more wonderful. Ryan and his team are very easy to work with. They were very patient with me as I had a ton of questions about different patterns and colors.
