"Midnight Market Madness in Tainan Night markets are a quintessential Taiwan experience. Young couples, families, retirees, and swarms of teenagers descend upon these markets to graze, gossip, flirt, play, and graze some more. Lately, the ones in Taipei have been over-run by camera-toting tourists. For a real local experience, head to the charming town of Tainan. Generally laid-back and filled with colonial relics left behind by the Dutch and Japanese, Tainan also has one of the liveliest--and most local--night markets I've been to in recent years. Plunge into the food stall section and try specialties like oyster omelets, hand-made mochi filled with peanut or black sesame, and sausages made with sticky rice. Then head over to the cacophonous games section and watch punters try their luck for an enormous stuffed animal. (The kiddie ping-pong version of pachinko is particularly amusing/perturbing.) Had enough? Push you way back through the crowds and if you're in luck, you'll find the vendor selling the most exquisite pink guava mixed with sour plum powder."
Very large night market. If you are in Tainan and this is open on the days you visit, definitely plan a night here.
Food, browsing some of the vendors, and play a game or two. Everyone in the family will have fun.
You can see some of the reviews before you buy the foods, but honestly, just go with what you like or even be adventurous.

It's probably the best night market I visited during my trip to Taiwan. It's really large with a ton of thing to do, see, drink, and eat. You won't find many foreigners or even English menus, but the vendors are always friendly and helpful. It does get reaaally crowded though, to the point that you can't even walk properly.

One of the largest night markets I’ve experienced in Taiwan. Visited on a Saturday, so it was crowded, but the energy was amazing. Endless local food options at affordable prices—definitely a must-visit when in Tainan.

I liked how the overall night market layout works where you have concentrated area for food, games and etc. Good to go early to ensure you have place for dine in. We tried their local Tainan noodles and of course the oyster omelette. What I like about Taiwanese food is they always find ways to include vegetables to make it a balanced meal. This market is different from Shilin night market is due to the variety of local cuisine and not the same items at every store. We had fun playing games too. Childhood games that will bring back memories for locals.

This is quite a big night market with many food, cloths, souvenirs and entertainment stalls.
Gets quite busy on Thursday night, better come by bus or just walk there, because the attached parking lot fills up early. All in all a good experience for local food lovers.

Fun food options and a great experience for the kids. Surprisingly plenty of gluten-free options for my Celiac kid, including steamed squid, fried potatoes, grilled salted beef, fresh fruit, fruit juice, grilled corn.

Fantastic! This may be the most lively night market I've been in Taiwan. Lots and lots of food with so much varieties. Highly recommended.

A must go place in Tainan. Loud, busy, and impossible to miss. I liked the open space, the general cheerfulness, the cheap and great food options. They also sell stuff for the house. I liked everything except the "coffin bread".
