Fantastic art museum. The exhibits are highly varied between watercolors of colonial Taiwan, an Olafur Eliasson exhibit when we went, and a myriad of modern art — some of it speaking to me and some not so much, which is perfectly normal. The museum building itself is also a wonderful piece of architectural art. Though beware of popular visiting hours like Sunday. This museum is not such a pleasant visit when really packed full of people taking pictures for social media.

Taipei Fine Arts Museum offers a well-curated selection of contemporary and modern art, with exhibitions that are both thought-provoking and visually engaging. The building itself is spacious and well-designed, making it pleasant to explore. While the permanent collection is not huge, the rotating exhibitions keep the experience fresh. A great spot for art lovers visiting Taipei.

The Taipei Fine Arts Museum is a wonderful place. The admission fee is very affordable, and the museum is very well maintained. The restrooms and overall environment are clean and tidy. For just a small amount of money, you can enjoy many exhibitions. The exhibition spaces are spacious, providing a comfortable viewing experience. Visitors are generally very respectful, so you won’t be disturbed while appreciating the art. It’s definitely a place worth recommending to everyone. Please note that photography and video recording are not allowed in some exhibitions.

It’s a very modern place with different displays. I came as a traveller and was amazed by how people in Taipei are provided with. Students can get in for free maybe that’s why a lot of young ( uni-like) local and internationals were here. Opposite to this place sits a beautiful park area too with events going on in weekends. It’s recommended to spend a couple of hours browsing, connecting, and reflecting on the arts and art in you.

Just a fabulous museum, a little away from everything else in the city, but it features some really beautiful art exhibitions. I particularly think it does a really nice job for writing a wide variety of art and topics, and seems to attract a broad mix of tourists and locals of all ages. When I was there, I particularly enjoyed some of the exhibitions that were focused on mailing up traditional Taiwanese art techniques with modern technology and modern context .

🅿️🛵Motorcycle parking is limited, so cars 🚗must wait to enter. 🚇I recommend taking the Taipei Metro, bus, or Youbike. 🎫Tickets are $15 for Taipei residents and $30 for general admission.

Google
I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a permanent collection but it's definitely an art museum worth visiting! Also definitely check out the brunch cafe next to the museum. You can pay with your IC card to get a ticket

Love this museum. As an art gallery goer, this museum is curated at an upscale level. There seems to be no permanent pieces but nice special exhibitions like Olarfur Eliasson. VERY NICELY PRESENTED. Two thumbs up to recommend all Taipei visitors to come. Architecture is interesting enough.

Yelp
Admission to this museum is only about 30 NTD (~$1 USD), making it an affordable and worthwhile visit. It's not a very big museum, but it has plenty to browse, and the exhibits are constantly changing. On my recent visit, I checked out the Too Loud a Solitude exhibition and really enjoyed seeing all the gouache paintings. The Enclave exhibition was completely wild in the best way. It took me around two hours to go through all the available artworks that day. The museum also has a restaurant if you get hungry and two gift shops to browse for souvenirs. A perfect place for a quiet, reflective afternoon.

Yelp
Highly recommend this museum! My mother and I were staying at the Renaissance Hotel walking distance away & they offer free tickets to the museum with our room rental. My mom grew up right around the corner in Taipei and had never visited the museum -- boy are we glad we did. An amazing museum full of interesting exhibits. We went on a rainy day so it was great to get inside and enjoy the art. We went on a weekday morning so it was very empty for about the first hour and then started getting busy. See my pictures for some cool stuff you can expect to see

Yelp
The Taipei Fine Arts Museum, located in Zhongshan District, has many art pieces to browse. I spent a couple hours, and the paintings and exhibits had English descriptions. There was also a gift shop to purchase souvenirs. The admission was less than $1 USD, which is unseen in the United States for museum ticket costs. As of November 7, they have English guided tours every Thursday at 14:00 and Saturday at 14:00 and 16:00. The museum is near the Yuanshan MRT Station and near a bus stop.

Yelp
The exhibition is well designed and organized. The building itself is unique and beautiful.

Yelp
A really superior space with great curation that gives the art enough space to be observed and enjoyed. The exhibits I saw were a bit more contemporary than I was expecting, but was still a pleasant experience. Sculptures, films and other displays were nice to see, though some of the rooms were a bit dark in order to immerse the viewer in the movie. Despite at least three or four groups of schoolchildren being led through the museum, it was surprisingly quiet. Very well behaved children! I completely enjoyed my visit and would return.

Yelp
Interesting museum with many levels to explore. Several exhibits were interactive, which was fun! One you could even go into a be a still life and get your picture taken. Another almost felt like a haunted house, but was a commentary on pollution. There were all kinds of mediums, sizes, and varieties. While walking around, it was hard not to be engaged. I'm not a huge fan of modern art, but even so, many exhibits were interesting. Be sure to stop by Story House too since they are so close together.

Yelp
Only four stars bc it's kind of a small place for such a big building. Besides a lobby there is really only a basement level. Within the basement level there are primarily a few exhibit rooms which were not terribly interesting. I give it four stars bc young kids have a ball and can spend hours in the architecture colors exhibit and the construction zone (LEGO with cardboard boxes). And it's free. Worth a visit if you're nearby. Not a destination on its own.

Yelp
Clean and spacious. Nice layout and bigger than I thought. All contemporary pieces. Paintings, film/videos, comics, sculpture/installation, etc. The first floor and part of the second were displaying calligraphy works. Lots of films and installation on the second floor that I liked, although quite a few were confusing and some didn't make sense at all. The third floor was probably my least favourite but they were a few more films and prints. Friendly staffs and cheap admission it's unbelievable. Free coat/bag checks and no big backpacks allowed inside the exhibition rooms. Stairs, escalators, and elevators available. They have tour guides as an option as well. Walkable to the MRT (skytrain) and bus stops so it's really convenient. Hard to miss and a nice park right outside. Wasn't the most memorable museum visit or experience I've ever had but it was still a pleasant one for sure. I do recommend people to check it oit

Yelp
Beautiful museum. Not only are the exhibitions a pleasure to observe; the architecture and spaces are enjoyable as well. They have screening rooms with benches where you can watch the entirety of any given video. Some rooms are so dark that it feels like you have your eyes closed under a blanket at night. I will visit this museum every time I visit Taipei.

Yelp
I happened to find this museum by chance and decided to check it out. It wasn't high on any Taiwan must-see lists, so it was completely off my radar. I went in February, and it had a lot of exhibits. This has to be my favorite museum of all time. There weren't a lot of people but the art was phenomenal. It had 4 floors and hours went by experiencing it all. You can really take your time and absorb the pieces, unlike the more popular tourist museums in Taipei.

Yelp
The museum is closed till next summer. At the moment there is a huge bamboo sculpture outside though that's pretty amazing to go inside. It's free to go in, you can't take food & drinks in unless inside your bag. Be prepared to take your shoes off if you want to walk on the bamboo platform. Really relaxing.

Yelp
I was here a few summers ago and it was truly the highlight of my trip in Taiwan. This place was totally my aesthetic and I wish I could go back again! Make sure to add this to your list of museums if you ever find yourself in Taipei.

Yelp
FUN EXPLORATION in this fine arts museum. I love the creativity in this museum especially that cotton cloth room full of string clothes. Its amazing how they have came with this idea to interact with the people visiting. There are a lot of cool drawing and paintings in the different rooms as well. I like the fact that these arts are mostly from young people in our generation. The museum is built up of different kinds of arts from animation, photography, modern arts, fine arts, movie clips etc. They have those mini theatre rooms which I find it very amusing from their speakers, the surrounding systems are real nice. The small gift shops are a cool place to drop by too, they got all sorts of cultural and traditional things made in Taiwan. I am proud of Taiwan, this is a great place to visit if you want a taste of modern arts.

Yelp
To be fair, the museum is undergoing renovations and a very limited space is open for viewing. Admission is free currently for this reason. The adjoining Taiwan Excellence exhibit highlighting award winning Taiwan designed products was interesting.

Yelp
Not a huge museum but extremely interesting. Go with people who appreciate the arts. There's a lot of pieces that convey a lot of emotions, you'll find a piece that speaks to you.

Yelp
A few mins walk from YuanShan MRT station. A great location for all the arts lovers out there. Be sure to check their website or grab their booklet from the MRT station to know what expo's they are hosting each month. I've been going there since I was a little girl in school and this museum never seems to disappoint. Their in-house statues are also pretty interesting, right outside the entrance there is a huge steal figure of a group of people standing in line holding a long rod. This is what I saw when I looked at it, you may think differently cause it doesn't actually show that it's people, it's more like stick men. Always a nice play to go exercise your artistic creativity.
