It felt refined yet unpretentious — and the five-course set menu at only £50 offered outstanding value for the quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Scottish cuisine at its best.

The best dinner of our life. Every dish was simply delicious, the flavours were like nothing we've ever tasted before. We loved the Thai Tartare, the Chicken Katsu and the Popcorn Baked Alaska, but my personal favourite was the Duck Breast. The price are also very reasonable (I'd recommend the 3 course for £38 deal), and the impeccable service made us feel comfortable and satisfied. Can't recommend enough!

We had the best time at Taisteal. It was our friends wedding day and the team made it extra special, putting haggis on the menu, making a little plate for their toddler, and finishing off with a platter of gorgeous miso caramel & meringue tartlets. Couldn't have asked for more. It was perfect! Thank you!!

Really nice set menu restaurant. My soft crab was simply delicious 😋! I wish I had eaten five more of those as a main. 🤣🤣🤣

Wow. Wow. I decided at 1pm to try to find a dinner restaurant for before a 7pm show, which was adventurous. I tried close to 35 restaurants and all were full. I randomly stumbled upon Taisteal on google maps and surprisingly they had space at 5pm. THANK GOD. I am grateful they did because not getting to experience this place just once would be a crime. Unbelievable food. Some of these tasting flavours I’ve had. You can tell so much thought and care has went into selecting the menu. The staff are amazing. The prices are phenomenal. I will absolutely be telling anyone who will listen about this place.

Randomly went in and they seated me short notice. I had the 5 course tasting menu and the food is exceptional here. I was downstairs and I felt the service was a little rushed and dishes served without much explanation or description. But it was also very friendly and warm. The timing of the paired drinks was a bit off but overall the service was good. The food is the reason I'll be back - it's an international mix of dishes from Gyoza to French Onion Soup to Scottish Venison. All cooked to absolute perfection, flavours were perfect. A very interesting menu obviously well thought out. A must visit if you want to eat exceptional food in Edinburgh. Also extremely reasonable, 5 course tasting menu, well paced with paired drinks for £80. Without the drinks it's just £50.

We had the 5 course tasting menu with drinks and everything was delicious! Service was a bit slow at times (they seemed short staffed) but the staff were very pleasant. We would definitely eat here again.
