As a frequent traveler and reviewer, I can confidently say that Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan is one of the best airports I have ever visited. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by its modern design, spacious layout, and overall efficiency. One of the standout features of this airport is the abundance of high-end, luxurious stores. Whether you’re looking for designer fashion, premium cosmetics, or top-quality electronics, the selection is impressive. Shopping here feels more like an exclusive retail experience than just an airport layover. Cleanliness is another major highlight. The airport has numerous restrooms conveniently located throughout the terminals, and each one is well-maintained, spotless, and fully stocked with essentials. It’s reassuring to see such high standards of hygiene, especially for travelers on long journeys. Navigation through the airport is seamless. Unlike some overly complex and crowded airports, Taoyuan International Airport is designed with ease in mind. The signage is clear, security checks are well-organized, and immigration processes are efficient, making travel smoother compared to many other international airports. When it comes to dining, Taoyuan Airport exceeds expectations. The variety of food options ranges from Taiwanese delicacies to international cuisine, ensuring that every traveler finds something to enjoy. Unlike many airports where food prices are unreasonably high, I found the pricing here to be fair and reasonable, which is a pleasant surprise. Overall, this airport ranks among the best I have experienced. The combination of luxury shopping, cleanliness, ease of navigation, and reasonable pricing makes it an outstanding choice for travelers. If you're passing through Taiwan, Taoyuan International Airport is not just a transit hub—it’s an experience worth appreciating.

Google
A big and bright airport with lots of eating and shopping options. You’ll find in Terminal 2, familiar places like Burger King to Taiwanese eateries. There are different shops other than the luxury brand name stores. If you’re needing to do something different, there’s an attractions suggestion. If you require medical attention, there’s a medical clinic after you clear security in the departures area. In the Gate C area, there is a forest type setting to relax and chill out or if you need to relax there’s a place to go for a massage. Many options to spend your last few Taiwanese dollars!

The airport is old, but very functional, with loads and loads of eating and shopping inside and outside the terminals. There is food for every kind of taste. The individual gates are uniquely decorated, which is a nice touch. The MRT makes travel to the airport super convenient. There are signs all over in English, very helpful. The process through customs and security can get a bit chaotic but understandable at such a big airport.

Google
International Airport in Taiwan Taoyuan Because of its excellent upkeep, I felt small during the weekend. It resembled a Cathay Pacific market, with a long queue and possibly less counter-self boarding tickets and self-luggage.immigration queue and a lengthy security check. However, it was handled with great elegance because security personnel were around to assist. The gates are roomy and extremely ornamented.

An international Airport with two terminals connected by a sky train. The airport is tad old but pretty functional with many connecting flights passing everyday. The airport is nicely decorated with good opportunities to shop and eat.

Google
The airport is spacious and has two terminal. Upon checking in, the security lines are very long and it would help speeding up the process if they open more counters/lines. We ran into a Yamaha piano and travellers are free to play. Really cool. As it’s almost Chinese new year there are a lot of festivity and decorations in the airport.

Google
Perfect stop/over airport. Cute, clean, great facilities, food court options, souvenir shopping. Great displays make for a pleasant walk while you waiting for your next flight. I’m definitely adding it to my favorites in Singapore, Istanbul and Baku

Google
Very convenient and thoughtful airport, particularly for the nursery room, very clean and tidy, and has all the basic that mom needs. Good for transit 2-3 hours flight so kids can have a small playground that enough for parents to erase from kid boredom.

Yelp
Airports are usually awful places where you arrive. in our case to depart, hang around for much longer than you would like, endure with no satisfaction, security checks, baggage drops, then you leave to hang in the sky in our case 15 interminable hours in a metal tube. So far so bad but. Yes there's a but. This place is a food emporium with an airport attached. If you want western it's here as well as Far Eastern food with gizzards other offal and we opted for South Korean surprising fair priced too but the chicken had gristle, tendon and bone and was just alright. The locals appear to prefer bones, sinews and gelatinous grub. Chopsticks are the cutlery so if you want a knife and fork look for an Ikea. It was so busy, diners gave their order and paid, got a buzzer to collect once cooked, seating was at a premium and made for people with small frames and tiny derrière's. I think some of our fellow diners weighed as much as one of my legs so it wasn't cosy. I must give a special mention to their public toilets that beat as they sweep as they clean. My word what an experience a mini shower and massage of the nether regions. The toilet remote was more sophisticated than the remote for my 75 inch tv. As my sight is poor I had to take a photo to enlarge to see the various options. It was quite the enjoyable experience with blast air drying as fabulous as the range of cleaning opportunities. I want one. I absolutely want one. This airport is absolutely huge really it goes on for miles.

Yelp
Loved this airport! It's modern, clean and fairly organized. If you're here on an extended layover, there are plenty of food and souvenir shops. I found a Hello Kitty gift gate at terminal 2 near gate C3 where I was able to pick up a few small items. There's plenty of seating along the terminal pathways/gates and some rest stops are themed. I heard this airport has free shower stations but unfortunately I could not find where they were during our layover since we were limited on time. I like how they have free water refilling stations. The bathrooms are super clean and you can get your steps in especially if you're coming out of a long haul flight and need to stretch/move your legs. We weren't hungry since we did have a meal on the plane prior to arriving but we did manage to pick up a few snacks from Mazu Village where I had the chance to try a Taiwanese wheel cake. Super delicious! We did not have NTD (New Taiwan Dollar) but a lot of the shops will accept foreign currency and credit/debit cards. Just know you'll end up getting your change in NTD. This airport has designated areas for smoking. The only thing I found unusual was that the airport windows at the gates were tinted preventing you from getting clear views of the outside.

Yelp
Its huge airport for me but you can take the train from terminal 1 to 2 Restrooms are clean. Staffs are also Friendly esp with the wchr staff they will help u toox Don't forget to ask for arrival card, we took PAL today and the FA had not mentioned about the card but the wchr guy helped us.

Yelp
Still a very cozy, but classy airport. Just be aware that pork is heavily screened. If you have any meat products on your person, you must declare it. When you get off the plane, a staff member will give you a card if you do NOT have anything to declare. Otherwise, you'll need to get your carry in bags checked, and it can delay you. Also, remember to request an arrival card on the plane to save you some time filling it out once you get to the counter.

Yelp
This is an extremely nice airport, with plenty of amenities! Arriving and navigating the airport itself is easy, even for tourists and foreign travelers. I easily found my way to bag check and then through security. The security line moved quickly and I was inside the terminal within 20 minutes. Once inside, the airport offers plenty of shopping, dining, and lounge spaces. I was able to find a coffee and relax while I waited to board. There are plenty of bathrooms, water bottle filling stations, and the waiting areas surrounding the gates are modern with lots of seating and outlets. I loved some of the local art installations! Overall, a great airport to fly through.

Yelp
We arrived early in the morning before 5am. I guess there are multiple flights that also arrive around the same time. It took about an hour to get through customs. We thought our luggage would be already at baggage claim, but it came out shortly afterwards. We then went on our way via the express train. FYI: There is a promotion that runs until June 30, 2025 if you're traveling to Taiwan. Register beforehand and check at a kiosk in the arrival hall to see if you won. https://5000.taiwan.net.tw/index_en.html

Yelp
This airport was a pleasure to experience for a layover. The international arrivals terminal (Terminal 2) is modern, classy, and clean with numerous attractive shops and eateries. We enjoyed some French pastries from their Le Moût pastry shop during one of our 3 hour layovers. Some of the waiting areas near the connecting gates are not as modernized though and can also get somewhat congested. We ended up in one of those waiting areas for numerous Eva connections and it was a more dated space with relatively low ceilings. Many of these gates are basically bus depots as buses take you out to a ground level ramp for boarding and that is common practice in many Asian airports. The gate for our return flight did use a jetway for boarding but the waiting area still had the same dated feel. Anyway, I'll go with a 4.49 rating rounded down to 4 stars and overall call Taiwan Taoyaun a quite good airport.

Yelp
Arrival experience for an overnight layover. Opted to explore the city and stay in Taipei City so we had to go through the process of exiting the airport. Deplaning was a smooth experience and was also able to connect to airport wifi right away. This was actually crucial because you need to fill out an entry form in order to pass through Taiwan's customs. There was a QR code on the plane to the entry form website so I was able to complete this on the walk to customs. Took about 3 min to fill out - general info about you, why you're visiting, where you're staying. Present your passport to the agent and was sent through. Clear signage to find a taxi, where they have staff members helping you to secure a driver. Overall smooth experience.

Yelp
One of the coolest most futuristic looking airports ever. Very convenient to navigate as well. It is an awesome experience flying into here!

Yelp
I flew to and from Manila (MNL) from San Francisco (SFO) and had a layover at this airport on both legs of the trip. During our trip to MNL, my group of six pretty much walked the entire airport. It's massive! Great for getting your steps in. We were very impressed by the cleanliness and the wide variety of shops and dining options available. They have a nice, big food hall as well as restaurants all around the airport. Choices range from fast food to full table service. We decided to eat at the food hall, and although there are plenty of seating, it does get crowded. Each gate has a unique theme and ample seating. There's also play areas for young children to burn some energy before a flight. I would fly to Taipei (TPE) again.

Yelp
TPE is one of the airports that I will make an effort to fly in and out from. I have flown to and from it twice and I found it to be quite easy to navigate. The majority lounges are on the second floor. Going through arrival immigration and customs was simple and not a lot to worry about. If you prefer to use a VIP service to do so, it is even more simple. In compared to other airports, I did find the shoppes to be a little lacking. However, if looking for gifts, it will do the job.

Yelp
This airport is huge with many great choices of merchants and restaurants. If you have time during your transition from plane to plane, take a cruise and enjoy. The facility staff constantly on the move to keep area clean and Sanitized. Since this place is big in size, theirs a passenger mobility upon request to get around. Pretty cool but I'm good, exercise is key to staying healthy and fit. I recommend this location due to their outstanding customer service experience. Very clean and sanitized. Their parking lot is spacious and easy access. They have a restroom for your convenience. This place is unique in their own way, from design and presentation, it's pretty nice. If you're in the area, stop by and say hi. Enjoy it here or on the go. Share your experience. P.s. Don't forget to smile cause you're beautiful. SYOY!

Yelp
One of my favorite airports to go through or wait in for international flights in and out of Taipei. It's always clean, the duty free shop is opened as early as 4am (I've landed around that time a handful of times as of late, and they have always been opened). Per the culture's service industry standards, the staff members from the service industry workers to the TSA staff are all very kind and courteous. Getting checked in luggage from the carousel has always been hassle-free, and getting in and out of the security checkpoints has always been a breeze. Airport overall is very clean and modern, it seems they are also modernizing and renovating it more these days too!

Yelp
I adore this airport. It feels like a high end mall with an airport attached. I want to start off by commenting on how great the airport staff was. When we landed from Manila for our 1 hour and 45 minute layover, the airport staff walked us over to the mandatory security screening area in order to get to our gate as well as access to the other areas of the airport. They ensure everyone off our planed made it to where they needed to be. Well done. The whole airport is immaculately clean. The food and beverage selections are vast and diverse. We didn't have much time to explore too much during our short layover but I really wish we did. The signage is throughout is easy to see and follow. The lighting and decor is all high end contemporary. There's plenty of lounges offered at this airport. We grabbed some refreshments and drinks in the Oriental Club lounge via our Priority Pass. The lounge was amazing and I could have stayed all day eating their dumplings and helping myself to the self serve local Taiwanese beers. lol I hope I get another opportunity to explore this airport again on my next Asia trip. Safe Travels!

Yelp
One of the cleanest and coolest airports I have ever been to!!! We had a layover here on our way to Philippines and they make US airports look bad

Yelp
One of my favorite airports in the world! I love that Taoyuan puts in so much effort into making their airport feel so welcoming and fun whether you're entering or leaving Taiwan, or just here for a layover. There's free wifi that actually works, plenty of seating, clean bathrooms, and lots of stores. I was able to go into the Sanrio store and do some last-minute gift shopping for friends back at home. Many of the gates have different themes. Some of the standouts include: 1. The Golden Horse Award (the Chinese movie industry's equivalent to the Hollywood Oscars) gate, which includes displays of the Golden Horse statue, Chinese cinema history, etc. 2. Sanrio gate 3. Formosa Black Bear forest gate I've also seen photos of the Xiaolongbao (soup dumpling) seats on social media, but have yet to find it for myself. Since they recruit beagle brigades to sniff luggages, it warms my heart to see giant beagle plushies around the airport! There's also so much quality food here. Yeah, it's more expensive since it's an airport, but unlike overpriced American airport food, Taoyuan airport food is legit restaurant-quality! Immigration can be a long wait, and if there's hiccups, thankfully the staff's English is good enough to communicate. I've been able to get through customs on just enough Chinglish. Taoyuan Airport is easy to navigate, yet is such a large airport with plenty to offer for travelers worldwide.

Yelp
Taoyuan international airport is pretty easy to get around. I was able to clear the Custom and passed the security check in 30 minutes today, now waiting to board. Every gate is decorated with a theme that makes each one unique and interesting. Gate D7 is actually on the lower level so I had to walk on the stairs but it has an elevator for people using wheelchair or with luggages. There are many stores, restaurants and vending machines to buy last-minute gifts, soda, and water. I would probably like it more if I can use one of its lounges while I wait.

Yelp
I have traveled through this airport 20 plus times in the past 4 years. It's one of the best airports in the world in my opinion. It may not be as fancy as others, but what I love about it is the convenience of the airport. Everything is where it's supposed to be. The bathrooms are well maintained and as of recently, they started modernizing their toilets to Japanese style seats. The only caveat is the additional screening of passengers as soon as you get off the plane, which doesn't make sense. Otherwise, I'll continue to make this my layover destination.
google avatar

Joann V.

Yelp
4.5 stars I absolutely love how this airport has different themes for differemt gates. There was a gate that was designed to look like a forest, a Hello Kitty gate, a (cartoon) "night market" where the seating was shaped like bowls....it was definitely unique. I remember passing through here a couple years back and got the opportunity to eat in the food court and do some duty free shopping. Unfortunately, this time, my connecting flight was late...like 11pm, so almost every food/shopping area was closed. It would have been nice to browse around for a tiny bit. I highly recommend anyone who has a layover here to get a boba milk tea and a custard coin pastry...absolutely delicious! If you have the stomach for it, get the spicy beef noodle soup amd dumplings. Even if it is airport food, it is still very good!

Yelp
Fun place to walk around while waiting for my transit of flight. I am here during early hours so many store are not opened yet. Cold air conditioning so wear a jacket.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the fastest security and immigration process I've ever experienced at any airport. TPE is easy to navigate and it's well connected to Taipei with the express metro that takes you directly to Taipei Main. Really my only 2 gripes were: I didn't find any souvenir shops to spend my last NTDs (but maybe that was just me being dumb) and also the lounges left a lot to be desired. Especially if you're flying United Polaris (morning flight) and can't access the EVA lounge.
google avatar

Ane V.

Yelp
Lay over for my international flight. Construction on going but there are still plenty of shops that are open. Visible signs and there are employees waiting at the tube to guide you. While waiting for my connecting flight, I went to look for my gate then walked and walked to get my steps. I was enticed to try their Taiwan Bubble Tea. But It wasn't good as the picture. I walked to one of their duty free shop and got me a Christian Dior perfume. They have a good price for a set. I wanted to open it and try but the sales lady told me NO in a firm voice. I didn't know about that.

Yelp
SIM card: Super cheap for unlimited data. Get it at the counter on the way to immigration counter. Way shorter line compared to the counters at the arrival lobby. The price list is the same. Currency Exchange: Do it at the arrival lobby after exiting the baggage claim. Shorter line compared to the counter in the baggage claim area.

Yelp
Taiwan Taiyuan International Airport is one of four airports in Taiwan. Taiwan is currently promoting tourism and if you sign up prior to your arrival you can be eligible for a sweepstakes. You can win up to $5000 NTD which is roughly $156 as a metro transit card that you can use on the subway, bus, convenience stores and some restaurants. This came in handy by winning to cover some of the transport costs. You have to be staying in Taiwan for a minimum of 3 days to be eligible. There is a designated area by the Arrivals Hall. The airport itself is clean and signage is in English. The customs process didn't take more than an 30 minutes and was a breeze going through. Luggage carousels are past the customs area with restrooms nearby. The MRT subway station is nearby as well.

Yelp
Nice airport. I don't remember which terminal I was at but one had a lot to see and the other ones didn't. There was a section at the airport that was super dead. It felt out of place. There was a lot of nice areas for photo opportunities. Get your cameras ready! Some areas had themes which I thought was really cool. If your layover is here and want to find something to do, definitely tour around the airport. There are lots to see and explore. Food was alright but there are few options.

Yelp
I passed through here three times on my Christmas holiday trip 2023. First time was early December. I arrived at 5:30 am on a Sunday morning after a 13 plus hour night flight. The airport was bright and clean. Well marked in Chinese and English to direct you where you need to go. Baggage claim and customs was easy. During 2023 and 2024 Taiwan is holding a Lucky Land promotion. Prior to your arrival you go online and fill out a short form, you are then emailed a QR code. When I got to the arrival area I quickly saw the Lucky Land kiosk. I showed the screen my code and touched a coin. Yeah !! I won 5,000 NTD. It paid for hotel night. The Express MRT into the city was easy to find as well as getting a YoYo card to ride it. Second trip through the TPE was a week later to catch Scoot Airline to Singapore. it might be the particular airline. Scoot's line to check in was long. I was afraid two hours before departure might not be enough time. But it was ok. I have Priority Pass thru a credit card and there are a few different lounges I could use. The lounges are grouped together in different areas of the airport. Usually on the upper floors. After 45 minutes there it was time to move to the gate. Third was January 4, 2024. I came into TPE at 11 pm at night and had a 12 hour layover. I didn't want to leave the airport and return the next day. So I tried something new, a capsule hotel in the airport. (different review) Unfortunately I still had to clear customs because the hotel was in the departure area. But I did check my bag all the way through. That saved me. The next morning I simply walked through TSA and found the closest lounge for breakfast and waited. On the way to the gate I discovered how diverse this airport is. As well as the usual high end shopping retailers and duty free shops, they have a mini museum and library. Many of the gate areas have unique seating areas that decorated to show off Taiwanese culture. Here's your last chance for a delicious milk tea and bao in their smaller to go stalls. And if you have any room in your carry on there are a couple of Kavalan shops.

Yelp
This is my favorite airport. Whenever I can, I try to fly in and out of this airport over the Songshan Airport in Taiwan when visiting Taipei. I love this airport for many reasons: 1) Efficient security and customs processing, 2) fast and direct MRT routes between airport and Taipei main station, 3) great shopping scene, 4) good variety of restaurants and lounges, and 5) clean and spacious. It usually only takes me ~15 minutes tops if not less after dropping off checked bags to get through security. I do, however, usually arrive about 3 hours before international flights to be a the lines which may be considered a little early by some who prefer to arrive 2 hours ahead of time which is generally what's recommended. I would rather be safe than sorry and try to maximize my stay at the lounge which typically has a 3 hour stay limit. Security has taken me anywhere between 10-45 minutes depending how congested it is, but it's a fairly efficient process compared to other airports I've visited. Between the airport and Taipei main station, you can take a quick, ~38 minute ride on the MRT to get to where you need. The cost is very reasonable compared to a private taxi. My favorite part is flying from this airport and being able to use the baggage service to ride the MRT free of my checked bags while coming from Taipei. I simply check in ahead of time and drop off my bags before boarding. I've never had to wait for baggage service. Once I drop off my checked bags, I wait a few minutes to make sure they clear the security/x-ray scan before getting on the MRT. A train comes every 15 minutes for this particular route. There's a great duty free shopping scene ranging from more affordable tea/snack/souvenir shops and luxury goods. I usually like to snag some alishan tea and some sun biscuit pastries and pineapple cakes as gifts for friends/family coming to and from Taiwan. I like to visit the Premium Plaza Lounge or Oriental Club while waiting for my flight. On my last visit, I enjoyed unlimited beef noodle soup, Taiwanese beer on tap, and many other delicious foods at the Oriental Club. They also offer showers and massage chairs for interested visitors. The airport feels very clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. The bathrooms are well-maintained. I love that the water dispensers provide both cold and hot water. Definitely my favorite airport!

Yelp
Love the airport, nice and clean! There's free WiFi here too! Latest new find from my last trip are these mazu village wheel cakes! they are sooooo good! Try the special airport edition that's cream and peanut flavor (creamy peanut butter in the middle with peanut pieces, the outside filling is regular custard cream), it was surprisingly good! Highly recommended and get some wheel cakes to go! great treat to bring home too :)

Yelp
Compare to some of other international ports in the US and Europe, this airport is on par or better in terms of efficiency. We were able to go through immigration and customs fair rapidly upon entry. There were plenty of vital services available such as SIM card, rental car, ATMs and other stores in the arrival lobby. We did not take the MRT and chose to take the taxi to our Taipei city hotel for about NTD1500. Not bad considering NYC to Newark on Uber, about the same distance, costed us over 100USD. Upon departure, we dropped a load of $$$ in the shops buying gifts and enjoyed the airline lounge before the long flight home. I like this airport and nothing to complain about.

Yelp
Flying EVA from ORD to Manila takes you through Taiwan and I've flown over Taiwan countless of times. I've just never landed there until recently. Thus, I was excited about this connection, I wanted to do some light shopping, eating and people watching. I really loved the airport, with it being so clean, quiet, the free shower rooms, and art and cultural displays, etc. The food court area wasn't completely opened up yet but we were able to find a food stall with suitable meals. The rest rooms were extremely clean and the signage makes it really easy to get around the airport. I hope to actually visit and tour the country of Taiwan one day. The food blogs make it appear to be a foodie's paradise. All of my friends and family from the Philippines enjoy vacationing in Taiwan so we hope to come with them, to make things easier. Xie xie (thank you) Taoyuan!!

Yelp
Very nice airport that's efficient at moving folks in and out. Plenty of good lounge and eat/drink/shopping options. Eva air has some good nonstops to and from Taoyuan Taipei airport; very satisfied with the economy options here. Expansive observation deck not far from security, a popular spot.

Yelp
Getting to and from Taipei airport was a breeze. Look forward to future visits. August was a hot but fun month.

Yelp
Nice clean airport. Lots of choices should you get hungry or have a taste of Taiwan. It seems like a very efficient hub to other cities. Well equipped and helpful staff.

Yelp
I somehow don't remember this airport much even though I've flown in and out of it a few times within the last 2 decades. During our most recent trip to Okinawa, we had a connecting flight here - I liked how each of the gate in the terminal had its own theme/decorations. There was also a nice playground area where our kids had a lot of fun playing. When we returned to the states, the departure area was very clean/pretty. There were many food/restaurant options and a lot of lounge/rest areas. I was also VERY impressed with the bathrooms - SUPER modern and clean. This airport definitely made a very positive impression on me!
google avatar

Alyana S.

Yelp
I had a layover here from the US and waited for two hours for our flight to the Philippines. There's plenty of food places to check out and ample sitting room if you want to rest in between flights. We love the variety of food you can check out if you're hungry otherwise there's plenty of stores if you're looking to get something duty free!
google avatar

Jane K.

Yelp
There's a reason there's so few bad reviews for this gem. There are very few other airports that will ever best the Taoyuan Airport. Granted, I had a layover stop here, but boy did I make a splurge over here. It was many years ago, before I discovered this website, but it left an imprint on how I go to airports now. I went to this airport planning on taking a cat-nap maybe. Instead, I ended up buying 5 bags of nougat, at least 3 magnets, so many boxes of tea I still haven't finished, and a wooden music box with a magnetic bear in an airplane that spins around. I went here in 2016, and I'll remember it for a good long time after. Whatever magic is in Taoyuan, I hope it's here to stay.

Yelp
We had a super early flight and nothing was open yet unfortunately. The airport is very nice and well kept. Plenty of high end designer stores. It was easy to find our gate, everything was well organized. We checked our bags and got our tickets quickly. The entire process was a breeze. Hope to come back for another trip through here again.

Yelp
I enjoy visiting Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, whether for a layover or transfer. The airport has many photo-worthy decorations, and the best part is, I don't have to leave to savor some authentic Taiwanese cuisine. On one occasion, I even spotted a Pokemon-themed airplane, and there are delightful Sanrio shops and play spaces. If you haven't been, I recommend making a stop here.

Yelp
This airport is very efficient and takes Covid precautions seriously! A pleasure to fly in and out of. I arrived in the afternoon and immigrations and customs took less than one hour, and all workers were very nice. The airport terminal is very conveniently located to the MRT station which was great, but does need cash. It's 150 NTD to get to the Taipei city center, and either takes 30 or 60 min depending on if you take the express or commuter bus. Leaving the airport was also a delight. I arrived at 9 AM, way too early, for my 12:30 flight. I got through security and immigration within 5 minutes with absolutely zero issues. It was a very short walk to my gate too! Along the way there are many shopping locations, vending machines, a restaurant, and a meditation area, with rooms specifically for Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism (I believe). The A gates seem more sparse on food options, especially in the morning. My gate itself did not appear to have any outlets for charging, but other than that, very clean and many spaces to wait!

Yelp
One of my favorite airports. Severely underrated! They have some excellent meet up spots for large groups or drop off, such as the north meeting point in the terminal 2 arrival hall. Things are easy to find, but a bit sprawling due to the sheer size of the airport. You'll find convenient stores, restaurants, fast food chains like Moss Hamburger, souvenir and duty free shops, etc. If you are arriving as a foreigner the security check process can take a long time due to the line. You'll want all information ready for the arrival card. Happy travels!

Yelp
I love this airport! It's so convenient and has many comfy resting areas that you basically can charge your phone anywhere. It also has many exhibits display in the airport, I saw some photographs of the beauty of Taiwan, there was a corner filled with ceramic and colored glass artwork. You can find drinking fountain with different temperature easily and they provide paper cup too. I also thought that it was really thoughtful to have 3 prayer rooms decorated differently according to the religions. It's a really nice and welcoming airport! You can take the MRT to get there easily!

Yelp
Taiwan knows how to do airports right. As the major airport in Taiwan, Taoyuan International Airport is clean, easy to navigate, and convenient. It connects to the high speed rail system with a quick 15 minute ride on the MRT. The airport features a plethora of amenities - spa, massage parlor, food court, duty-free shopping, luxury stores, lounges, and showers. Free showers are honestly the best-hidden secret at this airport. There is a shower at baggage claim between carousels 5 and 6. There are also showers past security by the food court, next to the massage parlor. They have a limit of 15 minutes of hot water, and include shampoo and body wash! There are no towels though. Some of the restaurants close pretty early though, about half were closed on a Sunday evening around 8pm. The airport is also kept very clean, with plenty of areas for seating and waiting. All the staff I've interacted with are extremely friendly and hospitable. Great airport! Thank you Taiwan!

Yelp
I love this airport. It's so clean and has many things to do if you have a layover here. Honestly I recommend the food outside the gate if you plan to eat at the airport. The quality is better and way cheaper snacks! I didn't want to re- enter during my layover so I just stayed inside but I got the tofu pudding at one pop up stand, and the toppings were just okay so I went to another one and the toppings were even worse! It tasted like it's been sitting there all day.

Yelp
1st time transit through Taipei to Shanghai, thanks Covid, make the US Shanghai direct flight became unaffordable. No need to go through immigration, but there is additional security check to check your carry on luggage. I'm so tired after 12 hour flight from Seattle, so i walk directly to the gate, super early nobody there yet. Happy to find that they have 4 leather recliners! I'm so happy! It definitely will provide me good relaxation before my flight! Love this terminal! And the airport Wi-Fi is great!

Yelp
I've been to this airport in the past. It was before COVID. I'm currently at this airport while I have a layover.

Yelp
This is my first trip back with my spouse since Dec-2019 when there were no travel restrictions, and COVID-19 was about to drastically change life & travel worldwide. Landed safely on Friday the 13th! Thank goodness I wasn't travelling alone as we needed each other to stay sane... Experienced long waiting time to go through all quarantine protocols, buy for my cellphone two 30-day SIM cards for $1000 NTD each, arrange shipment of 3 luggage to a friend's place via Taiwan Pelican Express (found in Terminal 2), and then finally take the mandatory saliva Covid test. Four hours after landing, my sweetie and I finally boarded a special Covid taxi for our 7-day quarantine hotel!

Yelp
A superb airport by all standards in terms of design, accessibility, amenities, and organization of shops, facilities, and flow of countless people in an airport. Interesting is the roof of the airport which I can say is an Engineering marvel and the material used is native and probably exotic. Charging ports for gadgets are placed strategically. Beautiful Lounges with amenities such as; showers, rest areas, spacious bathrooms. This airport is SPOTLESS!!!
