I had the most amazing experience of my life at Taj Connemara. I stayed at the property for only one night with my husband, and clearly, it was not enough.
We were greeted by the doorman with a smile from ear to ear, and our luggage was swiftly delivered to our room. The entire property is maintained top-notch; the old charm has been beautifully preserved with the addition of modern amenities. The hotel had a divine, lingering scent in every corner we went, and we couldn't even guess what it was. Our room was spacious and had all the necessities carefully placed.
During check-in, my husband had briefly shared his interest with the front desk agent about wanting to try out their Raintree restaurant for dinner. When we went to the restaurant, a table was already reserved for us. We tried their tasting menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) and enjoyed every single bit of it. I had a bad throat that day, and the staff proactively sent me lemon tea with honey, which really relieved my pain.
While coming back to our hotel room, we took a wrong turn and were momentarily lost in the hotel lobby. One of the staff members noticed it and accompanied us to our room without us even having to ask. Anticipating needs and responding accordingly is exactly what we expect from a five-star hotel, and the Taj Connemara delivers it without hesitation.
The breakfast buffet had a fantastic view and a great selection of food items, ranging from classic South Indian dishes to a Continental breakfast. I particularly enjoyed their filter coffee and dosa.
We also received a good luck charm bracelet during our check-out. All in all, the hotel totally deserves its five-star rating.
