Taj Coromandel, Chennai

Do not stay here currently - there is very loud construction works going on. Their website discretely mentions this, though says the stop date is the 15th... It's the 17th, and the construction is ongoing. Came here with friends for a wedding. We honestly would not have stayed here if we'd known it would be this ridiculously loud. Every day, between 9am and 6pm. Even wearing noise cancelling headphones and with music on you can't get any rest. They offered us the potential to move rooms, but on the day my partner was unwell and we were checking out the next day anyway. All our friends throughout the hotel had the same issue. Not good enough for a 5 star hotel. Other than this, the hotel is lovely. I imagine coming when there's not construction would be a great stay. The staff are wonderful.

Had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The ambience was lovely and the food was top-notch — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. A special shoutout to Bala, who gave us exceptional service throughout. He was warm, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time.||||The highlight of the evening was a surprise birthday cake from the staff — such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that truly made my day memorable. I wasn’t expecting it at all, and it added such a personal touch to the celebration.||||Highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality. Had a wonderful dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance added to the charm, making it a perfect outing. A special shoutout to the wait staff Bala, Madhav, and Sangeetha for their attentive and friendly service. They truly made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the experience!

Taj used to be associated with luxury. Don't get me wrong, the service and the hospitality is still on point. The people are kind and helpful and get things done. But wow the infrastructure and the hard product is so poor. The rooms are an afterthought. There's no harmony in the design. There's constant drilling sounds during the day. There's an ugly video door phone inside and very basic lighting controls which makes the whole place feel like a cheap budget hotel Their Ginger hotels which are a budget hotel have some identity to their design. This is a mess. Get back to the good days, Taj. Its not too late.

Staff at Anise "Satyajit" got a bright future ahead and an asset for Taj actually young and vibrant. Manager Parul was lovely lovely and chef rajkumar & dayalan do their magic. Unbeatable hospitality honestly especially the "Anise Restaurant" this guys really really will take care of you, ask for it they will make sure do whatever it takes to make your day..all the staff a big salute. The Chef will do his magic while the staff will sprinkle star dust . It's phenomenal experience. I really thank all the staff to make my day... I stayed 1night but you really gave me 1000% positive experience. Staff at pool area, Sathish amazing guy who is really helpful to guide you all the way until you are done with whatever you been doing. Seriously you will be pampered with the hospitality. Not to forget lobby staff my god with smiles on their faces makes you really calm and enjoy the stay. Room is perfect... Everything is perfect 💯 Will come back again 1000% for longer stay.

Incredible experience at Taj as expected. Taj was welcoming, warm, opulent, and impressive. They live up to the Taj name in every way. The rooms were huge, amazing bathrooms too. We even got a pillow menu to choose from!

We had a great stay at Taj Coromandel, my go-to hotel in Chennai. A beautiful hotel with an old world charm which is hard to find in these frenetic high-tech times. The service of the staff is impeccable. Right from the front office, to the housekeeping, to the restaurant staff. I have to specially mention Bala from the Sounthern Spice restaurant who took care of our food needs. Also Dayalan, the junior sous chef at Anise who was so receptive to our requirements. All in all, a great experience as always. For anyone coming to Chennai, the trip is incomplete without a stay in the Taj Coromandel.

I love this hotel. The location is good. The breakfast is legendary. The live music in the bar is a nice touch. The service exceptional. The gym and poĺ, lovely. But the real star of this hotel is the bedding, which explains why the Taj chain had a bed shop. Everyone in our group talked about how wonderful it was to be cocooned in that bedding. I'm sad to be home because my bed is not as comfortable.
