Taj Coromandel, Chennai

Was in the city for a short business trip. Staying here was the best decision of the trip. I needed to do some work virtually (Meetings, webinars etc) and needed very efficient meals around it. The hotel staff at the buffet (s) made sure I got in and out super quickly. They were prompt and thoughtful in their service. Special call out to Bala who ensured I had a great breakfast. Would recommend 10/10

Planned to take my wife for a luxury dine in experience in Southern Spice and they fulfilled it to the core. My initial thoughts was to go with the thali but opted for Virundhu and that was the real meaning of Virundhu. Never tasted such authentic tastes anywhere in Chennai and to be frank those dishes are the signature of this restaurant. Chef Jebaraj ensures each dish is made with perfection and home style starting from aapam and thengai paal followed by the mouth watering fish,prawns,kayiru kattiya mutton kola urundai and chicken. When we tried to relax a bit Mr.Sekar ensured we are filled with nool parotta and idiyappam accompanied with veg and non veg dishes. Idiyappam with white veg stew really rocked for me and parotta went very well with chicken kuruma. The mutton briyani was really very well prepared and when we were about to wind up for the day, Mr.Bala ensured we are tasting the podi with rice along with rasam and curd rice. As he said, those really were best dishes and I loved how they cared about each one of us ensuring we are not missing any foods. What really stole the day was the elaneer payasam. That's really top notch and Mr.Bala and Mr.Sekar ensured we are having one more of those till we are exhausted 😍 Thank you Mr.Sekar, Mr.Bala, Chef.Jebaraj , Mr.Saravanan, Mr.Karthik and Ms.Smitha for the tremendous experience provided. You guys really made our day so special and we definitely will come back again to experience the hospitality. Thank you so much. It's definitely a once in a time experience.

I had an opportunity to stay here for a day and the ambience here is very good. The food was nice , I did honestly feel it's expensive ( definitely, Taj), but rest all is Superr good, privacy is absolutely best, and lastly the staffs very very friendly and polite. I would like to thank few of them, 1) Mr. Kuppuswamy who assisted us and took care of everything we ordered and made us feel home at the restaurant Anise. 2) Mr. Rajas who made are check out smooth and very interactive 3) Miss Soumya who interacted with us as a sweet gesture. Thank you all.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. The room was fine and comfortable. There is a buffet restaurant, where unfortunately the vegan options were very limited. However, the chef kindly prepared good food for us, naturally Indian cuisine, so in the end it worked out well. The gym is quite small and doesn’t really inspire much motivation for a proper workout.

Taj Coromandel truly lived up to its renowned reputation. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team ensured a seamless and efficient check-in and check-out experience. Our room was spacious and elegantly designed, perfectly complemented by attentive and prompt room service. A special mention must go to Subbu in the dining area, whose warm professionalism and genuine care made every meal a delight. His exceptional service and attention to detail truly stood out. Palani’s coffee skills are simply outstanding—each cup was crafted to perfection with such passion and expertise. Both Subbu and Palani went above and beyond to make my husband and me feel welcomed and well cared for, creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. It’s bittersweet to hear they will soon be retiring, as their presence truly enhances the dining experience. At the bar, Amit provided excellent guidance through the selection of Indian wines, demonstrating impressive knowledge and friendly service. The only area where there is room for improvement is the in-room wine service, as the staff attending to us seemed unfamiliar with the wines, which was a slight letdown. It's worthwhile to check out the pool! Overall, our stay was fantastic in every way, thanks to the outstanding staff and luxurious surroundings. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent service and warm hospitality from start to finish. The ambience is world-class — pleasant scent, perfect lighting, and genuinely polite staff all around.Our room didn’t have a bathtub like our friends’ did, but honestly, the shower alone was impressive. The hot water was so satisfyingly warm that you actually need a couple of minutes to cool down after stepping out. The restroom was equally impressive, with an automatic toilet seat that sanitizes itself and stays warm — a small but luxurious touch.A nice bonus: you can request complimentary cut fruits every night, which is great for digestion, especially when traveling. Breakfast was definitely worth adding on; for the price, the quality exceeded expectations.Overall, a fantastic stay with thoughtful comforts and great value. Highly recommended.

We had Bala as our server an he was exceptional! We were very cold when we entered the restaurant and were immediately given shawls to help warm us up. The menu is very vast and we were unsure on what to order, but Bala helped us walk through the menu and gave us some great suggestions. Not only was the service exceptional, but food was as well. We got the ghee roast paneer, vegetable korma, curry leaf and garlic curry, appam and of course ended it all with filter coffee||We were celebrating my mom’s birthday and they ended our experience with a cake and a happy birthday to her as well. Definitely a worthwhile experience and would recommend coming here!

We had an amazing stay at Taj Coromandel, Chennai from October 9–12, 2025. We had initially booked Taj Club House, but the hotel graciously upgraded us to Taj Coromandel, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience! Everything was wonderful — from the warm and courteous staff to the comfortable, beautifully kept rooms. The food and breakfast spread were delicious, and the pool and overall ambience were just perfect for a relaxing family getaway. I also booked a session at the Wellness Spa, and it was absolutely divine! The spa therapists were excellent, the setting was peaceful, and I left feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. Highly recommend it to anyone staying here! We were traveling with two small children (aged 7 and 2), and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and comfortable — even arranging a late checkout for us. Truly grateful for such thoughtful service. A big thank you to the entire team at Taj Coromandel for a luxurious and heartwarming experience. We’d love to come back soon!
