Taj Ganges, Varanasi

Nice cozy place with some old world charm. Excellent place. Stayed here after many years, and was awestruck by the standards. Nicely appointed rooms, welcoming staff, and quick to call service. One wonderful and humanly warm gesture is staffing differently able persons ( deaf and mute) in staff and that too in customer service. While it is applaudable on the part of management, the staff is also very good, and efficient inspite of their disabilities. One Mr Vishal, so energetic and ever smiling person, will go extra miles to serve you. Overall a very comfortable and heart warming stay.

On arrival, the Taj Ganges looked very luxurious and modern, and check in was smooth and efficient. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the only issue we had was that the room overlooked an area of the hotel that was being renovated. We were unaware that the hotel is being extensively extended and this did impact on our stay. The staff are amazing, and the hotel did compensate our inconvenience, so we were satisfied on the whole. Breakfast is buffet style and served in the Chowk restaurant, and was fresh, tasty and varied. In the evening, we chose to eat in the specialist Indian Varuna restaurant, which had amazing food and staff were attentive and friendly. We would especially like to mention and thank two of the staff that would come to our room after dinner and offer a complimentary foot spa. Both of the men were so friendly and kind to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the foot spa and their company for the 20 mins or so. (Photo attached)

TAJ GANGES truly exceeded our expectations! This was our first trip to Varanasi (Kashi) and our first stay at this beautiful property. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous, and always ready to help. The buffet at Chowk was excellent — special thanks to the restaurant manager, Ajay Singh, for his outstanding service. I would highly recommend dining at Chowk! Overall, our stay was comfortable, memorable, and filled with warmth. A big thank you to every staff member for going above and beyond to make our visit so special. We look forward to returning soon!

The service absolutely meets the standard of the Taj and it's one of the nicer places to stay in Varanasi even though the cost seems disproportionately high given the size of the room. The breakfast was quite mediocre and the food was repeated for all the three days with barely any changes. The venue of the breakfast doesn't inspire either. Big shoutout to the travel desk for the prompt inputs and reasonable prices.

Had a wonderful stay at Taj Ganges! After a long day exploring Varanasi, the team — Shivangi, Prerna, Prateek, Prachi ,this team — made sure we were well looked after. Their warmth and energy truly stood out. The “foot soak” they offered after our tiring day was such a thoughtful touch — pure bliss! The buffet at “The Chowk” was excellent, and Mr. Ajay,Jitender ,Tanu and the team went the extra mile to serve us even beyond regular hours. A special thanks to Vijendra for the lovely buggy ride around the property and palace — a beautiful experience overall. Heartfelt hospitality and genuine care make this stay truly memorable. I visited Taj Varanasi with my family for a short trip to Varanasi. Everyone in the hotel took great care and we left the place with so many fond memories. Some of the staff members took great care of us (Ratan, Binod, Ashish, Deepak, Ajay) The travel desk was superb and helped us in the temple tour of the city. Whenever we visit Varanasi again, we will definitely stay at this hotel.

We had a great stay. Team went out of the way for us. Ravi from front desk particularly excelled.. our check-in and checkout service was smooth ..he was helpful in advising us when and which all places to visit for quick and easy darshans.. Accommodation we had was clean Best experience was at their restaurants.. Varuna restaurant- Satvik thali a must try for home food..Sweet Odia girl served us..i was not hungry but she recommended and i ended up eating whole thali.. forgot to ask her name.. Chowk's breakfast- special mention to Vishal, Tanu and Muskan .Professional, super attentive and caring.. recommended us authentic Banaras cuisines.. We will surely visit again.. See you soon !

A must stay at the Taj when in India. The Taj Ganges hotel was not just impressive as a hotel, but its staff were amazing. I applaud the Taj for their diversity in employment policy. I don't speak sign language but was greeted by staff who did and I in turn was happy to thank them and greet them in sign language. The staff, Bakelal, Sonu, and Subash, plus the other housekeeping staff made my stay very special and treated me like royalty. Be sure to learn to say thank you in sign language when you see the staff who were the special badges and to ask any of the housekeeping staff for a rose scented foot soak.
