Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. They dropped off a basket of papadum and some chutneys before taking my order. The sweet chutney and mint chutney were both great, but I wasn't a huge fan of the tomato and onion one. The chunks were a bit too large to easily work with the chip-like papadum.
I went with lamb in a spicy tomato and chile base curry, I think the menu called it Karahi. I ordered it Indian hot; it was spicy, but not burn your face off hot, more of a slight perspiration level of hot. It came with a bowl of basmati, a bit more than needed for the serving size. The lamb was good, though there was a lot more curry than meat.
I also put in an order of paratha. It came out quite large and very thin, with nice flaky layers and texture to the dough, with a nice whole wheat flavor that wasn't overpowered by the ghee. I usually only see naan and maybe roti as options at Indian/Nepali places, so I was excited to try their paratha. By far, the best Indian flat bread I've had in Colorado. I would come back just for the paratha.
Overall, I'm happy I tried this restaurant. Denver doesn't have much choice when it comes to Indian food, so it's nice to know there are more options if I drive a bit. I'll try the vindaloo next time and see if their version of a classic South Indian dish can hit the hotness levels I'm hoping for. Worst case, I get to eat that paratha again.
