Extremely disappointing stay and nothing like what was advertised. We booked and paid for 4 people, but the room was only set up for 3. One person was forced to sleep on the couch, which was not acceptable. When we raised this and asked for a change or solution, management refused to help in any way. The room was also dirty. We found a used band-aid left behind, which we had to clean up ourselves. That alone is unacceptable from a motel charging these rates. There were also serious issues with the windows. Two windows did not have latches, meaning they could not be properly closed from inside. We literally had to push them shut from the outside, which is unsafe and ridiculous. On top of that, the kitchen window had no window coverings at all, allowing people to see straight into the room where the couch and one of the beds were located. Zero privacy. Amenities advertised were also not available. The pool was closed for maintenance, something we were not informed of prior to arrival. Parking was another issue. Someone parked directly in front of our door overnight, blocking access, and then another vehicle was parked in our designated parking bay when we came back after getting items for breakfast the next morning. Again, no assistance or intervention was offered. We were also unexpectedly asked to pay a bond on top of the hire fee, which was not made clear upfront. To make matters worse, we still have not received the bond back. We contacted the motel asking for assistance and some form of compensation, as the accommodation was not what was advertised. They refused to refund anything or offer any help whatsoever. Overall, poor cleanliness, misleading advertising, unavailable amenities, safety and privacy issues, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

I have only put one star due to the fact that you cannot put no stars. As a former motelier of 16 years, I would not recommend anybody booking at this particular motel. I had booked and paid for a 3 night stay for our 38th wedding anniversary, on arrival I was asked for Credit Card for security deposit, I informed that the room was paid for and I would not be paying any more money, They put through a manual payment for $102 without permission. When we got to the room, 1 One window couldn't open due to latch being broken. 2 One window couldn't close due to latch not being there. 3 Room was old, dated and dirty 4 Enough crockery for 4 people, only enough cutlery for 2 people. 5 4 Element stove in the room, 1x 6" saucepan in the whole kitchen. 6 Water pressure, NON EXISTENT {had to run around in shower to get wet} 7 Office never opened in 3 days. 8 On checkout had to call answering service to get someone to the office to process my refund, where I was offered a $100 refund, I refused and told them you took $102 from my account you put back $102, they tried to explain that the $2 was a bank charge and they only received $100 to which I replied the bank only charges for pay-wave, you put the charge through manually without permission, they tried twice to refund $100 and I refused twice, fortunately at that moment the police pulled a car over in the driveway, I stated oh good here is the police and got my $102 refunded within 30secs, the fastest anything happened at this place for 3 days. In summary I would not piss on this place if it was on fire and highly recommend anybody look elsewhere for accommodation in Takapuna. I would seriously recommend that all booking sites review this property and ditch it

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. One star because there is no option for zero. We arrived at this property at 2am from an international flight after arranging after hours check in, accessed the key safe and retrieved the only key in there. The key did not fit the lock on our allocated room. We called the after hours number (plus 0) and it rang out half a dozen times. We ended up finding emergency accommodation at considerable extra expense. In the morning, the management (who was not on site) not only told us the key worked (how would they know - it was with us) but also said they had no call log for us. Well, we have the call log, and when they sighted the key, told us it was for the LAUNDRY. Attitude was disgusting, zero customer service. Only afterwards did we read the reviews and regret booking. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Location was perfect for our stay. BUT When we first arrived nobody was at reception, the door was locked. Had to ring the customer service number for them to ring somebody else to come to the door. The customer service also said on the phone that my card had declined (there was more than enough on the card) Once somebody came, we were charged $100 bond for not having our visa debit card on us. But when asked about paying for the motel as it had declined (assumably) he said it had already come out. Fast forward, get to our room. The door was extremely hard to open. Felt like it was jammed in, he complained when having to come and check it out. Tried asking if we done it 🤦🏽‍♀️ Plates were dirty, under beds and behind the draws were filthy. One child had a shower in the morning, I had one straight after and the water was FREEZING!! This experience has been the worse I have ever dealt with. Will never return back.

The lady there was friendly enough but there was no one at the reception ever. If you are planning on getting the "cot" be aware it's a porta cot without a fitted mattress, and the bassinet had a dark yellow stain all across is so we didn't end up using them. People park in your park in front of your room so it can be a tight squeeze

Booked a “balcony apartment” through Booking.com. On arrival, the room had no balcony and staff advised the property does not have balcony rooms at all. The receptionist blamed Booking.com, however the motel supplies and controls its own listing information. Balcony rooms remain advertised and bookable, and a refund was refused.||The balcony was not an aesthetic preference — it was important for managing claustrophobia-related anxiety. Very disappointing and misleading. I recommend others confirm amenities directly before booking.

This lodge is absolutely disgusting, do not stay there. The grounds are atrocious, there has been no maintenance in forever, the rooms are old, unkept and feel dirty, there is no reception and the host wore a stained shirt. We asked for a refund as could not stay there and were refused. We will be contacting the Council re the health concerns of this property

Really tired motel. Oven only one element worked, one window didnt shut. Utensils bowls etc were lacking. The whole complex needs refurbishing. Noisey with units so close to each other. Tv needs updating and other platforms available
