First breakfast experience here was very tasty. Biscuits were heavenly and the crazy tomato, bacon and jalapeno jam.... I know sounds wierd, but it was crazy enough to make it interestingly tasty.

They do everything right here. A variety of good coffee and incredible baked goods to start your day right! The limited release RARE strawberry cinnamon co fermented coffee is the best coffee I've ever had...

My favorite part of traveling to Kansas City! An early morning walk and great coffee. The staff are courteous, the coffee well balanced. Also a great place to do some work - plenty of seating and lots of natural light.

Google
Finally, after searching high and low, I found this gem of a coffee shop that has delicious espresso that is super smooth and full of flavor! But wait… there’s nothing better to go with our espresso, then real heavy cream, they were able to steam us some heavy cream for our espresso!!! Top notch customer service! Everyone was super kind!🙌

Google
This is the type of coffee shop where you need to specify if you do or don’t want your black coffee to taste like a fruit roll up. Highly recommend a try before you buy approach here. Best biscuits around. The non fruit coffees have all been fantastic

Ordered a cortado and quad shot espresso. Their biscuit and strawberry basil jam was delicious. There’s patio and patio on the second floor. This place is worth checking out.

I love it here ✨ The team is so kind and friendly and the atmosphere has the warmth that other coffee shops are missing now. Love that they have a patio out back and an upstairs that offers more seating. The seats are comfy, the Wi-Fi is fast and there are plugs for your laptop if you’d like to do any remote work. Plus the coffee, biscuits, cinnabiscuits and jams/spreads are amazing. You HAVE to try this place out!

The biscuits are SO GOOD. Can’t go wrong with any of the spreads. Super cool that they don’t require tipping, it’s included in the pricing and I love that. Service is great. Atmosphere is also great. 10/10.

Yelp
Incredibles lattes here. I had one two days in a row and both times it was delicious. You can tell they use high quality espresso and chocolate (I get mochas). It was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. A great spot for coffee! I also tried their biscuit cinnamon roll which was stellar!

Yelp
Crossroads cafe has a nice space. I ordered a 20 oz iced caramel latte light ice, they only offer oat milk as alternative to whole milk so I stuck with the cow. Oat milk has an off taste in lattes. Initially the cup was filled to the rim with ice before I pointed it and hit 1/3 of the cup full. I'd rather have more latte than ice, otherwise it's not a 20 oz drink of latte but ice, water and espresso. The drink didn't have much flavor or espresso to me. I even asked for more caramel. I also got their cinnamon biscuit. It was dry. Service was good. Very laid back, helpful and pleasant staff!

Yelp
Good coffee and great aesthetics in a prime location--if you're looking for a fun spot to hang out, you've gotta check out Take Care by Oleo. They also have tons of seating and great staff. BUT 3 stars. The food *really* leaves something to be desired. I've tried the TC Biscuit with Pear-Chai Jam and the Masa Chocolate Chunk Cookie, and both were pretty disappointing. The TC Biscuit was good but not better than your standard Popeye's fast food biscuit, and the jam with it tasted more like holiday spice cinnamon jam than chai, which usually has an aroma of cardamom. The edges of the Masa Chocolate Chunk cookie were great, but the middle masa (what tortillas are made of) portion tasted like mouthfuls of dense, salty tortilla mix. This isn't a great place to stick around and work either due to the lack of outlets available. All that said, would still come back for the coffee, the ambiance, and the people. If you're looking for a cafe with good food and coffee, check out Cafe Corazon, Messenger, and Hitides.

Yelp
Another case of why in the world is this the first time I'm coming here. The biscuits are.. the best I've ever had. I love the jam collaboration with the antler room. My chai was delicious and I will 300% be back. Like maybe tomorrow.

Yelp
My husband and I are doing a staycation in the crossroads and on a rainy afternoon decided to venture into this adorable quaint coffee shop. I decided to order a chai latte after a customer told me it was great and they were not wrong. It was the most perfect delicacy after a cold walk in the rain. I refer to the drink as a cup of comfort. We will definitely be back on our next staycation in the city. An added bonus is the friendly great staff and great merch. I want to try some of their bakery items next time too as they looked great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
When I take my daughter to her softball events I always look for a coffee shop. Oleo was not far from her field and thank goodness for that. The Latte was amazing. Just simple vanilla but so so fresh and tasty. You can tell everything was made with care and good ingredients. I also got a cheddar apple scone with a biscuit- super delicious and tasty. The employees were incredibly friendly made me feel very welcome. The vibe of this place is definitely a plus. Located right in the middle of the city. I love discovering places places like this!!

Yelp
Take Care by Oleo may just have my favorite decaf latte in Kansas City, and I've tried a lot of lattes. Here, the focus on high-quality espresso is noticed. The taste of this decaf espresso is incredible. Be warned, though, if you want a sweet coffee, turn around at the door because this is a no frills type of coffee menu. The honey latte is balanced impeccably with subtle sweetness from natural honey paired with freshly packed and drawn espresso, which on its own is inherently bitter. Now, if you're an almond milk drinker like me, you won't find any here - they do have oat milk, though. On this trip, I pre-apologized to my tummy and went all natural with whole milk, and the creamy dreamy dairy swirled together with the shots of slightly sweetened espresso was the definition of a simple pleasure. Also, the decor here is so well curated that it's like you are in part coffee shop part vintage Americana exhibit. Or, it's like the coolest flea market booth that also happens to serve coffee and pastries. The old wooden floors, the lunch counter style coffee counter, the different displays of old-time memobealia, the overalls proudly displayed on the wall... there isn't one thing I don't like here. Its clean as well as decorated at the same time, and it's not overdone but it's done right. Also, there's a patio that shares Grinders Crossroads courtyard so you can sip on your coffee and soak up some sun (and maybe if you're lucky catch a soundcheck). Next time, I'm definitely getting the cheddar apple scone I spied because I adore a savory scone, and sometimes they can be hard to find! It looked scrumptious.

Yelp
Take Care has quickly become a staple coffee shop for me. Their homemade vanilla syrup has real vanilla bean in it and it makes a big difference in a vanilla latte. The dirty Chai is another favorite of mine. The baristas are always friendly and are always fast.

Yelp
Okay!!! Cute!!!! Very good vibes and it's a nice place to work on your computer! The service was fast and efficient. I didn't order any pastries, only coffee. I'd definitely come back to work!

Yelp
What a lovely coffeeshop! I got an iced caramel latte and the TC biscuit. The latte was perfectly balanced and the biscuit was cooked perfectly. The butter was delicious and I want to try the other flavors they have to offer. There is plenty of seating and street parking. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I would return solely for the service but I absolutely recommend everything about Take Care by Oleo. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I have stood on 18th street, gawked at this bright red building, and marveled at the mountains of biscuit dough in the window. My biscuit senses were tingling. I finally stopped in on a drizzly Friday. The decor is farmhouse chic with a graphic red, white, and blue color scheme without being too Americana (there is a giant American flag hanging in the back - giant!!). There's an upstairs as well, with plenty of space to hang out. There is a large menu on the wall behind the bar, but you order in the back at the end of the bar and pick up towards the front. The menu is perfectly small - just coffee and some bakery goods. I am not a coffee drinker, but I hear the coffee here is pretty special. But I came here for the biscuits! The biscuit was heavenly. Buttery and crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. And the strawberry basil jam was the perfect accompaniment. $5 for a small biscuit is sort of a steep price, but the owners of Oleo are committed to paying their baristas a living wage without relying on tipping, so it's worth it! The service was great! The baristas were quick and helpful!

Yelp
Take Care by Oleo is a new coffee shop located in the Crossroads. Kind of has a log cabin-esque vibe going for it and is very cozy. Menu is small, but I like it that way. Their focus is on the coffee, as it should be, and can definitely tell the quality of the beans. I had a vanilla latte, which I'd say is probably one of the best I've had. Coffee was the star without being too sweet like some lattes, and there were actual flecks of vanilla bean since they use that for their syrup! So tasty! They also have freshly baked pastries, including their popular biscuits accompanied by a side of one of their flavored butters or jams. Get them while they're fresh or maybe ask if they can warm them up. 5/5 recommend. Another great addition to the coffee scene in downtown KC.

Yelp
I may have just come upon my new favorite coffee shop + bakery in Kansas City. Take Care by OLEO elicits a home-y vibe with rustic/Western decor and friendly staff. The Take Care biscuit was fluffy, buttery, and fresh and the strawberry basil jam was immaculate. Opted for a chai latte this time around, but will be exploring their espresso and coffee menu on future trips. Bonus points that they pay their staff a livable wage, so tipping is not a huge focus. This leads to a little higher prices, but still not over-the-top compared to other coffee shops.

Yelp
What's not to like about this new cafe in the East Crossroads? I popped in here during their first week and loved pretty much everything about it. It has this really fun western charm to it without being over the top, which makes for an inviting, rustic, and warm environment. Aside from that, they have tons of seating upstairs which is great if you, like me, like to get some work done while trying out a new cafe. I had a dirty chai which was on par with other good coffee shops in KC, and as I was waiting in line I noticed they have amazing merch. If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for local merch so I'm as shocked as you are that I waltzed out of there with just the coffee. Ultimately, when you put all of these things together you have a top tier coffee shop in KC. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
I had a colleague schedule a meeting at Take Care by Oleo a couple weeks ago and have literally been back multiple times since then! The coffee is so delicious like they never miss! It's so creamy but not overly sugary! You can really taste the coffee which I love! Don't even get me started on the pastries! The chocolate sea salt scone... can't stop thinking about it! The vibe of the shop is just so casual and inviting! It's a great place for meetings for a casual vibe! Plus it's only a few blocks over from the street car which makes it a nice option if you work down town and want a little outside/walk time! The service is also incredible!

Yelp
Take Care is a new coffee shop located in the Crossroads. We went on a Sunday morning to grab coffee and work on some wedding stuff. It was nice that it wasn't took busy and we sat at the bar. I love the no tipping culture not because I am against tipping but because it means they are paying their employees responsibly. The staff is so nice and we ended up talking to them for awhile while we sat at the bar. They didn't offer any GF pastries when we were there but their biscuits were amazing! They also had a scone that looked delicious but I decided I had to try the biscuit after hearing about it. There are several butter and jam options. We both enjoyed our coffee and got a lot of work done during our time there. I will 100% be back.

Yelp
This coffee shop was amazing in so many ways: 1. The ambiance and decor was beautiful. All the hand-lettered typography was great. 2. Their coffee had the smoothest espresso and the flavors tasted so real. 3. The staff was so nice and accurate with our orders. I'd recommend the chai (best in KC) and the TC Biscuit! Prices are also fair for the quality of items.

Yelp
Take Care is a fantastic and unique addition to Kansas City's thriving coffee scene. I've been able to visit Take Care twice now -- once during their soft opening and once during their grand opening weekend. Both times, the staff was friendly and enthusiastic, the coffee was delicious, and the environment was warm and comfortable. The outside of Take Care looks like it belongs in a highly saturated Wes Anderson film. Like a Wes Anderson film, each detail of Take Care is carefully manicured. Oleo's focus on the process of coffee farming is reflected in the interior's warm wood, farming artifacts, and vintage decor. Having tried the double macchiato, Take Care biscuit, oat milk latte, and cheddar apple scone, I can attest that Take Care is pursuing and achieving perfection in everything on their menu. I look forward to many more visits to come.

Yelp
Had a nice, rainy day drip coffee here. I didn't venture upstairs because there was enough seating downstairs. They had a lot of pastries options and I got my order really quickly. Very pleasant and relaxing coffee shop!

Yelp
A biscuit so good it inspired me to write my first ever review: I'm so glad there's a coffee shop back in this space! Even better that this one is FIRE. Went with my husband to try out lattes and biscuits and let me tell you: Hands down the best biscuit I've ever had. I kid you not, I waxed poetic about it for a solid 20 minutes after we left. We both got a biscuit and sampled the scallion chile butter, the strawberry basil jam, and the apple molasses butter. All three were good but the scallion chile butter was probably my favorite followed by the jam (I'm a savory girlie). Biscuits had a great crisp without being dry or stodgy and were nicely salted and melt in your mouth tender. Fingers crossed they'll add a simple breakfast sandwich to the menu down the road. Even just an egg and cheese option would be nice as something a little more substantial. Lattes were pretty alright. Oat milk one was pretty solid, but the vanilla one was a tad too sweet for my taste. I find that's the case with about 60% of KC coffee shops so I may be alone on that stance. No big deal, I'll just order half sweet next time. Will have to try a drip coffee next time to get a better sense for the flavors. And last, but not least, baristas were nice and chill. Brought food and drinks over to us even though it's more of a pick up at the counter sort of place. The vibe and decor is fantastic with all the bright red and hand lettering. Will definitely become a go-to place for me.

Yelp
Take care by Oleo is one of my favorite coffee shops I've ever been to. The staff is friendly and have carefully crafted the experience of the shop. The building is beautiful and it feels like a staple of KC. Multiple floors with lots of space. They care about the food and coffee they're serving. Take care!

Yelp
Really great, friendly service. Delicious biscuits with specialty jams and great coffee. A cozy environment that makes you want to stay all day.

Yelp
The service was fabulous and gave me excellent recommendations. Friendly, comfortable and very midwestern. Loved every moment. Great coffee doesn't hurt either.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best cup of black coffee I've ever had. The space is adorable and great for work, and the owner is very nice and extremely knowledgeable about coffee. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I come here regularly. I enjoy the coffee and the ambience. Everyone has always been kind but today the service from the dirty blonde girl with tattoos was awful. If this was my first time coming in, I wouldn't want to come back. Her attitude was uncalled for and while sitting here I've heard her slamming things around. She was extremely cold. Some people have bad days and I get that but if you're going to create such an uncomfortable, negative space - maybe don't be in a customer facing environment. On top of the interactions my friend and I had with her, I was absolutely appalled at the way the barista interacted with an older gentleman kindly asking a question. She couldn't be bothered and responded very aggressively and inappropriately. Huge bummer to have this experience at a space I have only ever felt welcomed at in the past.

Yelp
I think this is such a great new addition to kc's coffee scene! I ordered a vanilla latte which has to be one of the best I've had. I would describe the vibe on the inside as jazzy/rustic/log cabin vibes -- it feels super cozy especially on gloomy winter days. it's a great place to get some work done or just hang out and catch up with a friend. the baristas were all very kind and welcoming too. definitely will be coming back here!

Yelp
sadly i had a mixed bag of an experience here. the barista making drinks was lovely and sweet but the person who took my order seemed entirely over it and frustrated by me asking questions. it was my first time coming into the cafe and i was curious as to what some popular items may be and was met with an exasperated sense of impatience to just hurry up and order. when the drinks i ordered came out, an iced chai and an iced latte with flavor, they weren't mixed at all. so the chai was separate layers of milk and chai. and the latte was milk and espresso with unmixed syrup at the bottom of the cup. it would be nice if the baristas making drinks would take the time to mix the drink entirely before sending it out. it's the small details like that that really make for a more pleasant cafe experience. food was okay. very high quality bakery goods but nothing very filling and for the price point i'd like something more substantial. i'm curious to see what new options they will add as time goes on! overall a cafe with a lot of potential and i hope they train staff to be nicer and more patient as the work to establish themselves in the KC coffee scene.
