I came here 2.5 years ago, but at the time it was wonderful. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a pleasant, warm ambience and decoration. We were seated up top at the very corner, and had a nice view of the entire place. You can get a little forgotten if you're tucked away there on a busy day, but it's really not a problem. I was surprised at how tender the octopus was in the 'tako' tacos, and how fresh the other accoutrement were, pairing together to make one delicious, albeit strange, taco. Everything we tried was great.

Google
Incredible tacos & margaritas!! We sat at the bar and the bartenders were so friendly and provided great service. The atmosphere was very unique to the restaurant. The display of tequila bottles behind the bar was a work of art

G. Ozdinc

Google
Spicy pineapple margarita is divine. Loved it. The octopus in the Octopus Tako was a bit dry, probably overcooked but the dressing was tasty and veggies were fresh. Service is very good and the atmosphere is super cool. Glad that I catched their Halloween special decoration 🎃

Google
These are more gourmet style tacos, but they were 10/10. Had the Korean and the Al pastor and delicious. The queso was also really good! Coconut marg was also delicious. Really cool spot!

Google
Great drinks and really delicious food in a fun atmosphere. I tried two of their cocktails and they were amazing! I also had the poke which was really good. I wasn't sure what to exact ordering poke at a bar, but it was really well done and had a generous portion of fish which I really appreciated.

Google
Tasty food and such a fun atmosphere. The lighting made it hard to capture how tasty the food is, but trust me it’s good. I enjoyed it for date night with my husband. It’s noisy, so if you don’t like that it’s not for you, but the taste of the food meant I didn’t feel like I had to take space with words and I got to enjoy the moment.

Google
While I'm usually not a fan of deviations from traditional Mexican cuisine, this place won me over. The tacos with a twist were unique, but what truly stood out was the welcoming atmosphere and the excellent service. I’d still give it five stars for the overall experience.

Google
This place is great! I love the atmosphere. I was worried that two tacos would leave me hungry but don't worry! It's plenty to eat, these things have more meat and toppings than your average restaurant burger. We got the chips and salsa and potato appetizer, both really fantastic. We got the octopus taco and carnitas taco... Loved them both! The octopus taco has like a crab cake feeling to it, Mayo, coleslaw etc. The carnitas taco is more traditional. Highly recommend, I'd eat here again.

Maria N.

Yelp
Wow! Blown away with how good the food is. We had the Baja fish and al pastor tacos and a side of guacamole. The tacos were so flavorful and 2 tacos were just the right amount of food. The deco of this place is super cool. Love the vibe. Pricey but it's a fun place to check out in the city.

Yelp
Täko is a cool Mexican restaurant in Downtown that I've been to a few times now with my girlfriend. They offer tacos and Mexican street food appetizers like street corn, chef's guacamole, & smoky roasted pepitas. The pepitas are amazing and I would highly recommend trying them! We wish they offered more popular Mexican food options like quesadillas but still enjoyed their food. We tried their featured drinks so I had their blueberry lemongrass mojito which was very refreshing. Aisha had their strawberry basil daiquiri which was just the right amount of sweetness for her. For entrees, I had the Maitake mushroom tacos and Aisha had the Pollo Asada tacos. If you're a vegetarian, their meat tacos can be replaced with potatoes to accommodate you. Just be sure to ask for the corn tortillas because their soft shells are cooked in beef fat! We enjoyed our time here but, as a heads up, it's one of those restaurants with very dim lighting and they also play popular music which was fun but loud. It's a cool date night spot but tough to hear each other over the music. We'll have to go in the summer to try their outdoor seating!

Karen H.

Yelp
We stopped by their Witching Hours pop up bar last month which was only open after hours. täkō's very dim lighting and ambiance makes for the perfect Halloween and spooky themed pop up. The drinks that we got were all pretty good although some of them were on the sweeter side which isn't my personal preference. I really liked the Trick or Treat cocktail with the candy corn infused vodka which I thought was unique!

Alexis A.

Yelp
Tako was an okay fit for a night in Pittsburgh! We came in December and it was freezing, but they had extra seating outside the main restaurant that was enclosed and heated. The tacos were a bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but they were pretty hefty and filling, so I guess worth the price. The servers were very attentive and kind. There were no red flags here by any means, but it just wasn't our place.

David B.

Yelp
Consistently excellent. The food is creative and delicious. I don't care to sit inside, because it's way too loud, but the outdoor seating is so very cool, and it features a great view of the kitchen. The service is very good. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Came into town for business and had a group dinner here. The ambiance inside is really cool, fun lighting and music selection was good, also not too loud since we were there for a business dinner. Started with a bunch of apps for the group, mainly the dips with chips and the street corn. Everything was tasty and plentiful. Drinks were great too. I think everyone opted for tacos, it was a Tuesday! lol. I got the Octopus tacos, they were great! Nicely cooked and seasoned perfectly. We got all 4 desert options for the table. Churros were a hit with the fried ice cream a second. The Mexican flan and chocolate pudding were great too. The service was good too, especially for such a bigger group. If you are in Pitt, stop in, you won't be disappointed. Right downtown too.

John F.

Yelp
Yum yum! We came for some late night bites after a buccos game, and we loved every minute of it. Excellent, quick service in a unique restaurant. Definitely fits the moody (in a good way) vibe! We had guac and papas bravas to start. Guac had heat, lime, salt, and everything I wanted on top of a chip! Bravas were very tasty. Loved the tomato sauce they were in. I had Tako tacos (octopus), and wow, I devoured them. The octopus was cooked to perfection, and the fried chickpeas gave a great crunch. The tortilla was incredible - it had some chew to it. I'm sure it was made in-house. Very good. We love the DeShantz restaurant group!

Melissa L.

Yelp
TAKO had complex diverse dishes full of flavor. The chef's guacamole was unique and delicious. Drinks were deluxe. Main dishes were great. But the churros stole the show! Service was also wonderful! They were very patient with us on a hot day, and we were grateful that having young kids didn't stop us from enjoying this destination. Cool outside seating, and a very different vibe than the inside. Try both for totally different experiences!

Andreina S.

Yelp
The look and ambiance of this place is great and so fun, in a nice day, you can sit outside by their kitchen but inside is even better with the lighting and decor. Good service with friendly staff. The portions are on the smaller side so not much to share. We ordered the elote which was not what we were expecting but still tasty, chips and salsa, which were ok. Way too much salt on the chips. For dinner, we got their signature octopus take which was ok and their fried mushroom taco which was lacking sauce and a bit of flavor (probably given by the sauce if it would have had any). Margarita were ok. Overall the experience was ok as a one time deal but probably wouldn't go back.

Gina F.

Yelp
Really cool spot - especially in the month of October with the great Halloween like decor. Drinks were delish and the Korean tacos were amazing. Soooo big - 2 are plenty. We also had the guacamole and the queso with chorizo which was really good. The guac was spicy - not bad just not the best. Probably wouldn't order that again. All in all a really good spot in Pitt to check out if you're downtown!

Brad M.

Yelp
Had my birthday dinner at Tako and it was very good. Wait staff was very kind and attentive throughout. We started with simple chips & guac and the guac was fluffy and whipped up well. Both tacos were tasty and could easily take down more. The sauce on the carnitas was a bit spicy and the pork was cooked perfectly. Churros was the highlight of the meal. Very filling and the dips fit well. So good and if I'm the area again we will be back.

Zabrina H.

Yelp
You must make a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time to get a table here. It's a very small restaurant and so dark inside. Food is incredible. Their reputation precedes themselves. Ratings for what I got: Carnitas taco: 8/10 Pollo Asada taco: 10/10 Chorizo taco: 7.5/10 Queso dip: 9/10 Guac: 10/10

Isabel L.

Yelp
First time heading to täkō in a while and went after an orchestra show. The restaurant was definitely darker than I remember and so I'm glad the menus were on our phones. I love the carnitas tacos and was so excited to get them again. My friend got the fish taco and mentioned how they wished they got the carnitas since they liked mine slightly more. The tacos were great and so was the guac - I appreciated how many chips came with the order. The interior has pretty cool decor and I enjoyed the music in the background. Their drinks menu was pretty expansive but I wasn't in the mood for a marg and they mostly only had tequila based drinks. Our server checked on us once to get our initial order and did not check on us again. We did see him checking in on every other table besides ours but we did not mind since he was the only server on the floor.

Gina A.

Yelp
After quite a few tasty restaurants I've experienced visiting the city for the weekend, I had the pleasure of finding this gem on my last day. Details are everything and this quaint restaurant and specialty bar didn't skip a beat. Each decoration and finish to every furnishing is noticeably placed with meticulous care and love. The octopus was cooked perfectly in the tacos. I say this strongly as there are not many restaurants that can prepare it just right and I travel frequently. Has a spicy kick to it which I loved as it didn't overwhelm the rest of the variety of bouquet of flavors in each bite. Grace at the indoor bar and staff were knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful with visiting recommendations in the city. Now wishing I had also ordered the octopus ceviche. Hope to be back soon. The photo with my phone light doesn't do this dish justice so go try it yourself!

Mara W.

Yelp
The service was good, helpful with explaining items and making recommendations. The ambiance was cool. Red, black, skills put together very tastefully. The food was really good. My pork butt tacos, corn and guacamole were really good. Also loved the drinks!

Michelle Z.

Yelp
One of my favorite taco spots in Pittsburgh! The vibe here is unmatched. The red lighting and the loud music makes the whole place feel really hip and vibey. It's casual but also upscale at the same time. Definitely recommend for a night out or for a date! The lighting does make it kinda hard to see what you're eating though. Been here twice and have liked everything I've tried! All the tacos are really flavorful and unique -- there's some Japanese-Mexican fusion going on so you'll get really interesting flavor combos no matter what you order. Im a big fan of the Korean tacos and the Carne Asada tacos. The tacos are really filling -- they don't skimp on the meat -- and there's two per order. We also got the churros, which are a really interesting shape. Also their drinks are great!!! Get the frozen margarita if it's available. Definitely get a reservation -- can get really packed! Service is excellent here. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new taco spot in Pittsburgh!!

Halie G.

Yelp
A Mexican restaurant with an exciting Japanese fusion twist.  A very quaint space with exquisite décor and furnishings.  Dim lighting creates a dark atmosphere but has an eclectic food and drink menu that is fun and unique.  They offer indoor and outdoor seating and in the cold months, their outdoor seating turns into igloo dining.  Highly recommend making a reservation.  Tried the classic margarita and it totally hit the spot.  Had to try the guacamole, so delicious and fresh and served with tortilla chips. Got the elotes- street corn, which was split corn seasoned, fire roasted and served with cotjia cheese. For the main course, split two different tacos- each dish comes with two, did the Pollo Asado - lime chicken, salsa verde crema, avocado, cheese and guacamole. Then the Carnitas which was braised pork, pickled onion, guacamole, cheese & salsa verde. Everything is so well seasoned and prepared! It was an excellent evening!

Liz G.

Yelp
Great experience and food at täkō! My table shared the chips & salsa (comes with three types) + queso fundido. Both were really great and I enjoyed all of the salsas. I had the Baja Fish tacos and they were probably the best fish tacos I've had in a while. They definitely don't skimp on the taco fillings. The only reason I knocked a star off is for the price - two tacos for ~$20 is a little pricier for me. This is good date night spot though. We sat in their outdoor seating and I was pleasantly surprised by how warm it was kept despite it being lower than 40 degrees. Our server was attentive and friendly. They were able to seat us without a reservation on a busy Thursday night which was a pleasant surprise!

Edward D.

Yelp
Tequilas, tacos, a good queso...what more can you ask for? I love how the chips come in a nice Booker's box. This one of my go to's as of late especially in this blistering cold in the burgh. Don't sleep on the korean beef or baja fish tacos. I find myself always begging someone to split an order with me so I can get more than one type of taco (since their orders come in 2). Love sitting upstairs or downstairs; you'll get a nice view of their bottle displays downstairs, and upstairs is just a bit quieter and cozy.

Ashley M.

Yelp
COCONUT MARGARITAS! COCONUT MARGARITAS! If you come to Tako and do not get the coconut Marg you are doing it ALL wrong! This may be my favorite new drink of all time! It's seriously THAT good! Also, the Barbacoa tacos were completely fire! The salsas and ingredients are so fresh and on point. The meat is cooked perfectly! And best of all, you can sit at the open kitchen and see them making your food right in front of you. If you've never been to Tako, add to your list ASAP!

Julia B.

Yelp
This restaurant combines a really cool ambiance with delicious food & drinks. The red lighting & funky decorations makes you feel like you're at a club bar, whether you're in the downstairs area or seated at an upstairs booth. The only downside about the ambiance is that the music is very loud & our waiter was very soft spoken, so it was hard to hear him sometimes. For food, we shared the guacamole & salsa appetizers. The guacamole was super fresh, & each of the salsas in the trio had a unique flavor (tangy, spicy, & sweet). The homemade chips were super crispy & flavorful - but heads up they will charge you if you ask for extra! The tacos are small in size but really filling - I could barely finish two! I ordered the octopus & was a little disappointed. The cook on it was ok (not the best octopus I've ever had) & I found it lacking flavor despite being described as coming with a harissa paste. I would order differently next time. The cocktail that I tried was really yummy! I got the spicy pineapple margarita & it was a good balance of spicy & sweet. The waiter suggested getting a tajin rim on it - and that's a must! Service was pretty good - especially for how busy they were. Drinks/food came pretty fast, and the waiter was knowledgeable about all of our questions on the menu. Overall, I would definitely come back - especially for drinks & apps! Food: B+ Drinks: A- Service: B Ambiance: B+

Heidi M.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks! Made a last-minute reservation on the same day. Started with the guacamole, which was very tasty, but pretty spicy as it had pieces of jalapeños in it. If you don't like spice, don't order it or see if they can be put on the side. The chips were a little on the salty side so I had to brush them off some. I started with the spicy cucumber, margarita, and my husband had the watermelon Mojito. Both were delicious! Not too spicy either. We then ordered tacos. They are served in duos. Therefore, if you order Carne Asada, you get two of Carne Asada. You cannot mix and match. My suggestion is if you are with somebody else to order three sets of two. We got the octopus, al Pastor, and chorizo and split them. All of them were tasty but with some spice. The chorizo comes with a fried egg on top which is perfectly cooked as it drizzles your taco. As far as drinks are concerned, they are top notch. Some of the margaritas are premade so make sure you ask ahead of time. I do recommend a reservation, but if you can't get one, try sitting at the bar. We came here on a Sunday night, and it was decently packed, but not impossible. It is very dark inside, makes reading the menu difficult. Bathrooms clean but kind of smelly and only one. If and when I go back to Pittsburgh I will be back here. Overall good visit.

Lauren O.

Yelp
Highly recommend! The food was fantastic, I had shrimp tacos, guacamole, and a delicious spicy margarita! The decor is stunningly beautiful, with a hip urban vibe. The service was excellent as well.

Christina S.

Yelp
Went to tako for dinner and the food and service was amazing! Our waitress was great at recommending drinks and food. The appetizers were delicious. Great atmosphere too.

Michael L.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was great, staff tremendous, very friendly Awesome look inside!

Alicia Z.

Yelp
The outdoor seating area had a completely different vibe from indoors. It had such cute and island/Boho aesthetic on the outside, but the inside was pretty dark and definitely not as cute. Service was simple and the servers didn't really check up on us, but they were pretty nice. We ordered Korean tacos, octopus tacos, and churros. The Korean tacos were so packed with flavor and the meat was so crispy! It was a good mix of savory and sweet. The peanuts added some extra crunch. My bf thought there was too many different flavors going on at once, but it was delicious for me. As for the octopus tacos, I personally don't like octopus since they're too chewy for me, but the meat was so tender and didn't have any of that chewiness. I didn't eat too much of these but my bf liked the octopus tacos a lot more. My pictures might not look like it, but the taco filling was stacked pretty high. I had to eat a portion of my taco with a fork before folding it up and eating it like a normal taco to prevent it from falling apart. Even though the taco filling is a lot compared to the size of the shell. the portions are a still bit small and it's a bit pricey. But you're in part paying for the ambience and definitely for the high quality meat.

AJ S.

Yelp
I'm Giving this a 4/5 but a 5/5 is simultaneously given in the background of this review : per my insistent husband that absolutely loved his meal! I have to say their chef special guacamole was incredible (though you pay a good $18 for the extras that jazzed it up) small portion but none the less.. delicious. We ordered three tacos: pork belly, chorizo, and täkō (grilled octopus). My husband loved both the pork tacos! Only critique was that the octopus taco was extremely oily-my tortilla was saturated-it didn't bother my husband any but just something to note. The octopus itself was nice and tender. That having been said if we ever return I may try something else from the menu. Our server was super sweet and attentive so I'm sure there will be another visit in our Pittsburgh trip future.

David N.

Yelp
Had dinner here this past week and was very pleased. The name is a play on words between Japanese (täkō means octopus) and menu (they mainly carry tacos). That of course includes an octopus taco which was absolutely delicious. I asked and they import the octopus from Europe regularly and you can tell - it was very fresh and not rubbery at all. Flavors were all on point, the service was friendly and prompt, and the ambience inside was cozy. Definitely worth checking out! I can now say I had the täkō taco at taqueria täkō.

Annie H.

Yelp
I was so pleasantly surprised by everything we tried here. Nachos were something I'd go back to Atlanta to consume again. We tried a variety of tacos, all of which were a party for the palate. This was my first time at a fusion place such as this. Ask if the flavors melded so well together. Perfection. The place was midly busy, but we were seated immediately.

Joyce K.

Yelp
During our short trip to Pittsburgh, my friend and I got dinner at tako! It was a short walk from a nearby parking garage and although all tables were booked for reservations, we were able to be seated at the bar. The restaurant had a cool vibe to it, with red lighting, their signature octopus theme spanning the wall across the bar in the form of a painting, and Taylor Swift music (appropriate as she was playing at Acrisure that night). The menu (via QR code) had some Taylor themed specials, which we of course had to participate in. My friend got the Equinox (Taylor's version) and I ordered the frozen watermelon basil daiquiri. I enjoyed the fun glass that my drink came in and I thought it was appropriately strong, since I was definitely tipsy by the end of the meal. It took some time for our entrees to come out but the restaurant was a bit busy, so it was understandable. My friend had the pollo asado tacos and I had the al pastor tacos. She loved her tacos and said that they were the best tacos she had ever had in her life. My tacos weren't bad, but I thought the ratio of ingredients was a bit off. There was plenty of pork, which meat-lovers would appreciate, but I felt that it was a bit dry and it wasn't balanced by the greens or pineapples.

Todd T.

Yelp
Ciara B was our server and omg I can't scream enough good about her! Not only was she attentive but she did what she should have without complaint and with trust. I'll explain. First, the atmosphere and environment was great. We were comfortable and loved the decor. The tables were really close together to the point others may complain but it didn't both us. The food was plentiful. For drinks, I enjoyed the BURNING FLOWER, which was a mezcal margarita. My friend got the GRAPEFRUIT & SAGE which was the perfect balance, which is hard to do with grapefruit bc it's so harsh. We got the queso and tortillas. It had the perfect amount of kick and was super creamy. Even though each order of tacos only includes 2, they give a lot of protein. After, I thought to ask for 2 extra tortillas bc I could have made 2 more tacos. Next time. I got the Pollo Asado chicken tacos and my friend got the Bistec steak tacos. They were great! On to the service! Ciara was friendly and personable. She checked on us often but was never over baring. I have a fish & shellfish allergy and she checked everything for me with the kitchen as a fish allergy is abnormal. I asked for the spicy cucumbers to be added to my tacos and when she ran it by the kitchen, I couldn't have them. She saved me! I've had some bad experiences and her just taking the extra step was everything and I was able to enjoy the show I was going to. Ps... I couldn't have drank the cucumber margarita either, but bc that wouldn't have gone thru the kitchen for check(!) , the bar was a danger from cross contamination which is why this is 4 stars.

Stacey P.

Yelp
Small, intimate taco restaurant with amazing food and stellar drinks - I would highly recommend. I made reservations in advance as I was with a party of six and confidently I cannot recommend anymore. It is a skinny rectangle of a space with limited seating and energetic music. With a party of six we were still be able to hear each other and talk comfortably. Larger than that and I don't think that would have been possible. The red light ambiance made it a bit of a challenge to really see my food. It all was bathed in red. It was delicious! I ordered two tacos and that was plenty for me. The chorizo tacos were super delicious and filling! Also ordered the churros which were solid but really the caramel sauce that came with it was the true winner. The drinks were divine! It was so good! I was very happy to have dined here.

Sara I.

Yelp
We loveeee this place! Just found out ab their happy hour which is pretty late but their food is so much cheaper! Honestly it's kinda disgusting how much cheaper the food is vs normal hours! Makes it feel like a total rip off. The queso is definitely very gross- it's almost sweet and the addition of the hot sauce doesn't make the cheese taste cheesy at all? Still love the Al pastor tacos!!

Katrin S.

Yelp
Had a fabulous meal of pork carnitas which were devious and the fish tacos. The grapefruit margarita was one of the best I had. Great atmosphere and service.

Katie M.

Yelp
I went here doing their happy hour and it was totally worth it. Their happy hour prices are very reasonable, and I like that you can order only one taco during happy hour instead of 2. Will come back for the happy hour!

Arica C.

Yelp
AMAZING! Came to town for a Steeler game and stumbled across this jewel! The ambiance is a complete vibe with throwback music, moody lighting & every detail well thought out! BUT THE FOOD I'm from San Diego and can say- this was the best chicken taco I've ever had (and I've had a lot) The salsa trio & fresh chips, The spicy pineapple margarita & coconut margarita were delicious! I wish I could give more then 5s! Great service and will make this a stop every time I'm in town! Thank you

Allison C.

Yelp
My sister has been recommending täkō for years now, and I finally had the chance to go. The restaurant was very easy to find, but parking was a nightmare due to a sports game happening at the same time. We made a reservation and was even seated before our reserved time. Our waitress was kind and patient as we reviewed the menu. We ordered the Queso Fundido for an appetizer. It was tasty with the perfect amount of spice. Our tacos were also delicious. Each showcased their own flavors while the toppings and sauces paired perfectly together. For desert, we ordered the Mayan Chocolate Pudding. It was creamy and the best way to end the night. As for drinks, there is a crazy amount of tequila options to choose from. The mixed drinks are great too! The restaurant as a whole was very inviting and clean. The lights were dim and the music choice was great. We will be back to try different tacos!

Olga H.

Yelp
So...the price tag for these tacos can make you have palpitations, but this is not your corner taco shop. Very sleek, and ai dare say sexy restaurant. The tacos come in orders of two, except for happy hour. And two is enough, as long as you share something else on the side. We got the equites and nachos. I do not like sour cream, I know I am a weirdo, BUT the esquites were amazing. I did not mind the sour cream in it. I am a sucker for churros. I got an order for myself and ended up converting my table into Churro lovers. They come served with a chocolate sauce and a miso caramel sauce that has no traces of miso flavor and was the best not overly sweet caramel I have ever had. Almost forgot the tacos. Got the korean and octopus tacos. The octopus tacos had a unique sauce and crispy chickpeas. Who doesn't love a good crunchy chickpea? Had my sites set on the mushroom tacos but those sumbitches were sold out. Wanted to come back for churros for the next day for my kids, but they are closed on Mondays, so we were assed out. Still craving em...

Yelp
I literally cannot say enough good things about tako! I've always wanted to try but never had the opportunity until this past weekend as it tends to get booked easily. This was the case however the woman making reservations found a spot for us outside the day of! I had a guest coming to visit from outside the immediate area, literally accommodated us last minute which made the experience even better. Not only that but our waitress held us a couple spots at the bar once we finished dinner outside so that we could experience the inside atmosphere which was beautifully decorated and so welcoming of an environment. The bartenders all very friendly and appeared to enjoy their job. For drinks, we tried the mango margarita, Swedish fish, coconut margarita and one other my friend had I forgot which - all very well made and delicious! Waitress suggested Swedish fish which wasn't overly sweet - just right! For takos - my friend had the octopus and I had the korean tacos both were very full, flavorful and everything I could have expected! So much filling was enough for 2 in one! We also had the chorizo and queso dip as well as 3 salsas. Cannot say enough good things! Service, staff, willingness to make accommodations for out of town patron, atmosphere, everything! Even the music was perfect - old hip hop and all that vibe!

Dana B.

Yelp
We liked the tacos so much we visited twice during our vacation to downtown Pittsburgh. Mood is bass beats with a bar vibe, amazing taco selection and guacamole. Our favorites were carnitas and fish tacos. Visit during happy hour to order one at a time! One taco was plenty filling if you have chips and appetizer. Margarita (classic) was perfectly spiked. Would recommend over and over.

Ronda L.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and everything is made fresh! We found our new taco spot in the Burgh! Oh and did I mention the fresh squeezed margaritas???

Enxhi Q.

Yelp
Food is delicious, well presented, and served in a timely manner. The staff is kind and well informed on their items. I always appreciate a recommendation in a new spot.

Ria F.

Yelp
I have seen Tako many times while in the theatre district seeing shows but I hadn't had a chance to give it a try until the other night. Whoa, I have been missing out on a treasure. The ambience is fun - dark but also inviting. It's a Mexican-Asian fusion which is a very cool look. The kitchen is visible as soon as you walk in. We were seated in an upstairs booth and it felt private which was nice for a girls night out. Everyone else ordered drinks but I just had water. They did mention how good the drinks were though. Maybe I'll try one next time. I ordered the pollo asado which consisted of 2 tacos. I wasn't sure that it would be enough but I ended up just eating 1 and saving the other for the next day. I let the server know about my food allergies and she was very accommodating. We stayed for a few hours and never felt rushed at all. Great time for all.

Yelp
This place was all right. It's so red/dark in there that I was surprised to see that my food looked like that when I shined a light on it. I mean, it looked like normal food, but that's how red it is in there. I wish I could see my food better. We sat at the bar and were served quickly. Got: - Coconut Margarita - very tasty - Tuna Guacamole - it tasted good, but it was weird not knowing what I was eating, on account of it being so dark in there. There was a part that was very watery part - turned out to be oil when I saw it under a bright light. Under the layer of oil is guacamole. It came with lots of chips. Hit the spot the day after when I was hungry again. - Papas Bravas - get these! I thought it was going to be French fries (meh), but these were round guys that were crispy in some parts. It's because they were brave fighters in the war - papas bravas. - Tako taco - this was okay. It still tasted fine the day after. - Baja Shrimp taco - did not try this myself but the bartender recommended it over the steak or chorizo

Yelp
My coworkers and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. We booked reservations 2 weeks in advance and even then the time slots were limited - so definitely plan ahead! The marg options were amazing and everybody at the table enjoyed what they ordered. We also shared some guac as a starter. I ended up sharing the Al Pastor and Octopus tacos. I was very nervous because I've never tried octopus, but it was cooked well and the flavors of the taco complimented each other. The Al pastor had a bit of a spicy kick to it!

Yelp
The food and service is great. Cool ambience too but a little too dark for me. What can I say, I'm getting older. Wonderful bar and drinks!!!

Yelp
If I ever find myself in Pittsburg again, this'll be my first stop. And my last stop. And maybe every stop in between. It's just that good. The lighting is low, so if you have to break out your phone flashlight for the menu, it might not be your cup of tea, but the drinks are on point and the tacos are incredible. The bartenders know their stuff and were more than happy to tailor our cocktails to what we wanted. And I can't say enough about the Tako (octopus) taco. Not only was it huge (think twice the size of your average street taco), but the octopus was cooked PERFECTLY. My only regret is not ordering one of everything on the menu.

Yelp
Delicious tacos and great cocktails! I took my sister-in-law here (she had never been to the Burgh and loves tequila) and she was impressed. Service was great too! Only downside was this was during a summer heat wave and I don't think their A/C was working too well because it was pretty toasty inside the restaurant.
