The food is completely average, 3.5/10 But I really want to compliment the friendly waitress who pointed us toward some nearby tourist spots. There was also a large and beautiful terrace in the back, where you can sit outside in the sun and relax.

Kimberly Hartwell

Google
My husband and I shared a vegetable sandwich and we both got a side order. Definitely ample and super tasty. The waitress was great and I love the atmosphere outside. We also got some Marion Berry cobbler to go and that was a tasty dessert for later in the night.

Google
Casual dining with a good selection of well prepared American classics; think burgers, sandwiches, etc. Good selection of beers on tap, along with wine and cocktails. The service is efficient and super friendly, and the prices are reasonable, given the relatively remote location. I had the French Dip, which had a generous amount of beef and came with tater tots. Yum!

Google
We came in for lunch and had the Bison Burger and French dip both amazing! They have a (one trip) salad bar for an extra $5, which was great! Service was amazing! Dog friendly garden patio! Food is good but do NOT get the pizza. Giving 4 out of 5 stars, because we picked up a pizza for dinner and the pizza crust was still stuck to the paper from when they thawed it out. Which made the pizza crumble and fall apart. Also had Zero Flavor and the ingredients used were bland. Seemed more like they microwaved the pizza instead of putting it in the oven.

Google
This place is great. Good pizza, BBQ, beer selection & mixed drinks. Also has a great giftshop! Definitely a must stop at whether you're passing through or staying in Mckenzie Bridge!

Dawn Ambrosius

Google
What a great place in a small town community. Their gift shop is a perfect place to find something for friends and family without having to run all the way back to a bigger city. With all the camp grounds in the area, if you need a birthday gift in a pinch, do consider this place. The food was delicious. I definitely would stop back again if I am in the area.

Google
Excellent. A must stop restaurant if you're traveling by. The staff are so nice and friendly and the food is some of the best in the state! Consistently delicious French Dip, awesome Shepard's Pie and the Mac and Cheese with Bacon is just plain good, get an order for the table. While there, check out the kitchy gift shop for some great Bigfoot stuff and a puzzle.

Google
This is the best pulled pork ive ever had! I travel a lot and thought the rating for this place was high due to lack of options but this blows a lot of places in Portland out of the water. The fries were hot and crispy and the apple walnut salad was a great pairing. Nice to see different types of salad ❤👌

Yelp
After a morning of hiking, this local diner really hit the spot. We tried two of their burgers which were both great and made with quality tasting beef. The salad bar was perfect too--very clean and flows well. Service was friendly. Con's: decor was a bit tacky. This restaurant is simultaneously a restaurant and a store front; all the decor on the walls comes with a hobby lobby feel and price tag attached for your shopping needs. Just a personal preference, but I think merging the two in the sitting area detracts from the overall experience. Regardless, I left very happy! Would recommend.

Yelp
Very much a local gem loved by many! During my visit to Oregon, this spot was probably my most memorable dining experience. We sat outside because it was nice out, but the inside was very cozy. For food, I tried the prime rib daily special, marionberry cobbler, and a combination pizza to-go. Everything was pretty good! I will say the prime rib was more of a beef stroganoff which was a little disappointing, but it was a comforting meal and rather filling. Couldn't leave Oregon without trying marionberry, so I got the cobbler! I liked the vanilla ice cream and the warm, sweet, and tart cobbler. It was delicious but a little too sweet for my taste. The combination pizza was delicious and held up well for takeout! This is a family owned restaurant that's been open for quite a while now. I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners! She was so sweet and personable. Everyone who served or interacted with us were nothing but nice. Such a wonderful spot!

Yelp
Everything went well from start to finish! Our server was Jovie, and she greeted us promptly. She had waters out within 1 minute of us sitting down. My husband and I had tator tots as an appetizer, and then we shared the ribs and Ja Ha jack burger (jalepeno pepper jack cheese burger). My son ordered a pepperoni pizza off the kids menu. The burger was well flavored and not overly seasoned, and the jalepenos were fresh which added a nice crunch to the bite. The ribs fell off the bone as we picked them up, and I don't know what was in the sauce/marinade, but it had a deep rich fruity flavor that is unforgettable! Asparagus and loaded mashers also took a win! As if we werent already stuffed after dinner, we decided to share a buffet of their desserts, we shared the lemon cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, brownie sundae, and marionberry cobbler. Needless to say we couldn't finish it all, but we're very pleased with both our service and our food. Shout out again to our server who made our night very special and gave us awesome attention and service. Very kind with a great smile. I'll end with this, I've never left a review before, but I specifically downloaded this app to leave this review just for her, because it was that great! Best meal I've had in months!

Yelp
Post Covid menu is back in action, which means they have my beloved Mac and cheese again. This is my favorite thing in the menu and I get it once a trip. This time they had marionberry cobbler for dessert. Marionberries were fresh and delicious. The cobbler was more like a cake though (no crumble insight). Overall still good! For lunch I also enjoy the tuna melt, which is simple but hearty. Service is still very good. One complaint/request - pleeaaaase bring back breakfast!!!!!

Yelp
The Prime Rib Dip was outstanding! The meat was tinder and tasty. Fries were very good. Hamburger with salad bar was good. Salad bar was fresh and very nice variety. I would order the hamburger medium or medium rare. We will be back to order the prime rib dip!

Yelp
Great service, good food and super cute ambiance. Homey, friendly and a great spot while driving over the McKenzie pass. I'm a picky eater and was very satisfied. our 5 kids too clean and large salad bar! cute gifts for sale and great outdoor space for eating I the summer.

Yelp
First thing I have to say I am a salad bar gal and this salad bar has all my favorites. I was so hungry that I was excited to make my salad we had not been here for awhile , I did not take a picture of the salad bar but this is a place that we've been coming to for a while. I just never have taken a picture and i will next time. Last time we were here they served breakfast, but I don't believe they serve breakfast anymore. I got the one time salad bar and soup of the day which was a beef stew. The beef stew was good. It was a little Barothy, which was nice because I had been camping so that hit the spot, hubby got the BLT it was delicious lots of bacon and then you can get side salad for five dollars the sandwiches you could definitely share the service was spot on Thank you for taking such good care of us decor super cool. They have a bunch of different knickknacks and goodies and fun stuff that you can look to buy . We will be back and wait so long to go back . This restaurant gets pretty busy so I was a little leery on doing this review because of such a gem but always for supporting small businesses.

Yelp
My only complaint about Takoda's is that I didn't discover it sooner! I've driven by it a million times and never stopped. I'm not even sure where I saw it talked about recently, but I wanted something different than Ike's Pizza on my way up the McKenzie. My husband and I stopped in here last night on our way back from Sahalie Falls. Side note, it was still snowed in and we couldn't stop. So we turned around and headed to Takoda's to grab dinner. We were immediately greeted and given the choice to sit inside or outside. I'm sooooo glad we picked outside because it was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was perfect. It was such a relaxing dinner. Our server, I didn't get her name, was fabulous. Super friendly and attentive. Checked on us at all the right intervals, and made sure we had everything. We ordered mozzarella sticks to start with, I had the prime rib French dip, and my husband had the Sasquatch burger. I may never poop again from the sheer volume of cheese I ate, but I can live with that because it was so delicious. My sandwich had the most amazingly well toasted bread, so it soaked up all the delicious au jus when dipped. My husband's burger was over cooked for my taste, but he didn't request a specific temperature on it, and their menu says they go for medium-medium well unless otherwise specified. But the fried egg on it was legit. The yolk was perfectly runny. I'll be the first to admit that I judge every restaurant on their French dip sandwiches and how well they cook an egg on a burger. And I am always irritated if either is less than perfect. I was so happy that both were completely perfect here. Add in the perfect scenery, and it made for the most amazing and relaxing dinner I've had in a very long time. Would I return? Yes, yes, and most definitely yes! I'm already looking forward to going back. Plus, since Sahalie Falls was snowed in, I have a reason to go. I'm still just irritated that I hadn't taken the time to stop in here before. But I'll make up for that with return visits.

Yelp
We stopped at this place on our way to a friends reunion and it did not disappoint! They have a beautiful outside seating area which was perfect as we had our dog with us. The server brought out our waters along with his, very attentive. I had takoda's grilled cheese and hubby had takoda burger, both dishes were delicious and good size. Server came to check on us often even though they were busy during lunch time. We are in town for couple of days and def be back!

Yelp
One of my absolute favorites spots. I love the lodge feel and the food is fantastic. The service is spot on and being out on the McKenzie is epic. Especially with a boat of the best Macaroni and Cheese, ever...and a Chocolate Porter. I always come back.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered take-out gluten free pizzas after the McKenzie River 50k Trail Race. Seemed like classic family spot with local charm. Hit the spot for me!

Yelp
Lots of great beers on tap! The pizza was great. I ordered the garden but added green peppers, regular tomatoes and mushrooms. The crust was very tasty. Other items at our table were Shepard s Pie (yum) and a turkey sandwich (yum). The highlight was the marrionberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The patio is lovely....with a waterfall and pond. I also loved the little shop upstairs.

Denise D.

Yelp
Had a great lunch at Takoda's. The service was wonderful. We were seated promptly and our server arrived to take our orders right away. My husband ordered the Turkey focaccia sandwich and I ordered the Club. The sandwiches were loaded with meat and were super good! I can definitely recommend Takoda's as a great place to stop for a meal if you are in the area!

Tyler H.

Yelp
Super nice and cool staff. The back patio is beautiful. Garden pizza was light and fresh, came back for a combo pizza the next day. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings! Just look at that cheese drip and how happy that boy is

Yelp
Hidden gem in the middle of know where. Stopped here on the way to take a break from A 8 hr drive and this place did not disappoint. Everything tasted freshly made

Yelp
My niece had pizza from here for her rehearsal dinner. We went there before the wedding not knowing it was the place the pizza was from. I got a Gluten Free pizza and we also got a grilled cheese with bacon and apples. We liked both and recreated the sandwich at home.

Yelp
Everything was great! The server was super friendly and the choices were available for for choosy eaters.

Yelp
Nice lunch at almost the end of trail. Was visiting from out of town & a friend took us up the McKinzie River to see how the forest & community was recovering from huge & crazy wildfires a few years back & landed at the hot springs for a soak. Although you can see it from the highway, you turn at little road just past gas station & drive past to parking lot. I got a Buffalo burger topped with Tilamuck cheese, was able to get cottage cheese as a side (important because I can't have fries. The lettuce, tomato, onions were generous enough that I felt like I had a nice small salad. Burger was delicious. While I selected the famous native to Oregon cheese, I'm betting the blue cheese alternative would have been just as delightful. Will have to come back to find out. Staff was attentive, stopped by several times to be sure we had everything & were happy. If you are doing keto or are vegetarian there were plenty of options.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Really great sandwiches and atmosphere! We ordered a French Dip, Club, and Turkey and Cranberry sandwich and they were all amazingly good. Everything was fresh and really yummy.

Stacey H.

Yelp
This was our first visit, and the food was fantastic, especially the onion rings and the toasty treats hot chocolate variations. Great salad bar and Reuben sandwich also. We'll be back.

Liz W.

Yelp
Friendly and accommodating sports bar atmosphere. Fun and attentive staff. They let me watch the Illini football all team lose with all the grace they could! . Great food. We will be back. Even bought the tee shirt!

Mol J.

Yelp
Overall, a great experience on a very hot evening. The food was delicious and the service was great. Very different than the sisters location and just as delicious.

Doug H.

Yelp
Always the best service, and food. It's a great place to stop on the pass to have a meal and gas's up if needed.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the BLT and hubby ordered the French Dip. Both sandwiches were excellent, as were the service and ambiance outdoors. We'll be back!

Clarence D.

Yelp
Takoda's is a perfect stop to eat on HWY 126. We enjoy their outside patio ambience, the landscaping is well done and inviting. They have shade umbrellas in the summertime. We've eaten several items on their menu, but we always do the salad bar. They have a excellent selection of vegetables. Burgers are all very good, and gluten free buns are available but the veggie burgers have crackers in them. The onion rings are my favorite. Pizzas are very good also and they do have gluten free dough. The berry cobbler with ice cream is delicious. The service has always been excellent! I'd like to see them bring breakfast back someday.
google avatar

Dani C.

Yelp
Husband and I enjoyed lunch in their beautiful and peaceful outside dinning area. He got the special of the day, Sicilian Chicken Sandwich with tots, their house fry sauce was not your normal fry sauce but absolutely delish! I had their salad from the salad bar that was clean, full and fresh. As well as a cup of their clam chowder which was also wonderful! Stop by and grab a bit it is well worth it!
google avatar

Bianca J.

Yelp
Nice to have this in the middle of nowhere when you want some good food. The food was good quality but the service lacked because they were so busy and seemed overwhelmed. I waited about 20 min for my drink and 30+ min for food. But all the workers were really sweet! If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be back. Also, I love that they have cool gifts at the gift shop and a Jelly Belly dispenser.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the peaceful backyard patio with koi pond. And I had my life changed for the better with the bbq tater tot like substance for an appetizer

Yelp
We ate dinner at Takoda's in Rainbow twice this week while on a multi-day bike ride. Years ago our group did the same ride and I am sorry to say that the food isn't as good as when we were last there. There were 10 of us and the staff were able to get our drinks and food very efficiently. The patio is really a pleasant place to dine. Monday I had the Orange Chicken (as did one other in our group) and it was super spicy, not what one looks for after a long hot day on the bike. The menu didn't mention anything about spice. Wednesday I tried the Patty Melt and the burger was cooked to very well done, almost crispy. According to others in our group this seems to be the way they cook their burgers. The one entree that did get good reviews was the Walnut Chicken Salad. Both nights those that ordered it were pleased. Again, great service but the food is lacking.
google avatar

Carina S.

Yelp
This place was okay. Clean & nice servers but food just okay. We ordered the original hot wings, the garlic chicken pizza & the prime rib French dip. Best thing was the wings/fries & the microbrewery pitcher!
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of this this year. We had a cabin upriver (it burned down in the fire) and enjoyed supporting our new community. The patio was great, even with Covid- they do a good job of separating the tables, the staff wear masks and all is good. Now the food is delicious. I struggle with what to get each time; everything has been great. My favorite though, is the prime rib French dip. OMG. Add a dab of horseradish and a dip of au jous and heaven awaits. The tots and/or fries are super good too. Beer, wine and cocktails for us adults and the usual for kids. Oh, don't forget to look through the massive gift shop; there's something for everyone.

Krista L.

Yelp
I just ate a late lunch with my daughter and son-in-law. our server, Maddy, is a delightful young lady, very personable and efficient. She is a joy and a great asset to this restaurant. As always, the food was delicious.
google avatar

Ilona S.

Yelp
I know that most places are understaffed right now, but having us wait at the host stand for over 10 minutes while multiple servers pass by several time and telling us "just a minute" starts wearing thin on my patience. Any way, finally we were seated outside as requested. It's a lovely patio with multiple tables, very lovely. None of the cooks or the inside waitresses had a mask on, despite the mandate still being in effect. So, in case you are worried about such a thing, please be forewarned. Now for the food: my sweet potato fries were crispy and thick, a bit too much so. The BLT on focaccia was good but not great because the focaccia was not crispy/crusty enough on the outside. However, the bacon was delicious! My friend had a grilled chicken burger which she truly enjoyed. So all in all, a mixed bag. Previously I loved this place, but it was just Okay this visit.

Kristina V.

Yelp
Absolutely DELICIOUS food! We tried several different menu items and everything was OUTSTANDING. What a pleasant surprise as this was our first time in the area. Service was also excellent :) Codie is a HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner tonight. It's the only choice we've seen in miles. Reviews say good eating, even caught someone going in saying everything's good. I agree on the food. We decided to split the Ruben. Even though they didn't mention a fee or I missed it but they charge $3.00 to split. We asked to sit inside, but then we asked to go outside cause it was so nice. The weather was perfect and the evening was good. But the free wifi doesn't each outside very well. I was frustrated trying to make online reservations with little to no signal. Our server was blunt but prompt. What can I get you?..... We got order in and fought the wifi while we waited. The food was good. We had Ruben with cottage cheese side. We enjoyed the weather and then headed out. Good for what we paid.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. This place is between Eugene and Bend in the woods along the McKenzie River (not much else around). Kelly ordered the French Dip and I had the Buffalo Burger and a beer. They have a nice selection of micro brews and wines. Kelly says the French dip was excellent, the roll especially. My burger was very tasty, cooked perfectly. Not quite a "5", but a high 4! Nice people, thanks for a nice time.

Yelp
I have driven by Takodas Mckenzie Bridge 532 times, but never stopped. Today, the long line at Snow Cap in Sisters OR, and a suggestion was...tryTakodas. The waiter was friendly, informative, and professional. He answered all my questions and unlike other waiter/waitress robots who start out their Im-just-hoping-for-a-tip quest by introducing their name, and "I'll be your server" with a blind stare, this one was actually real and down to earth. I like that. No corporate liner cards here. Had I asked what sucks about his waiter job, i think he would have been honest. The menu prices were good. I had a salad bar buffet. Except for broccoli, I think everything was there. I'll add that they use premium raisins too. Salt, pepper, parmesen cheese, good assortment of dressings oil vinegar...the stuff available here that some corporate bean-counters elsewhere have dumped to guarantee their Christmas bonus. The ambiance is slightly above average. There was a tall waitress in a mini skirt that added to my above average score. So why not 5 stars? The soup, had i ordered it with the salad, would be chicken noodle. Sorry, but Takodas needs an alternative. I'm not sick. The food was quite good. A definite step up from the generic Dennys, Applebee's, or IHOP. And...I think slightly less prices than those. It was also a step up from the Sisters tourist trap restaurants. You know, Sisters needs another "Tap House" right? The food and service was good enough that I'll consider Takodas again when speeding through McKenzie Bridge or Sisters.

Marjorie H.

Yelp
Fresh salad bar, hot creamy soup, outdoor garden setting with lovely flowers. Service quick and friendly.
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
If you're in Blue River, Oregon this is the top restaurant option. The salad bar is really good, and my absolute favorite menu item is the baby back ribs with the country mash potatoes. The pizzas are really great, and this is the perfect place to get food and drinks after day on the river or when your driving to or from Bend, Oregon; conviently next to a gas station and right across the street from the basketball camp, Tokatee Golf Club, and the McKenzie River Bridge. Friendly service and cute gift shop. The outside patio is peaceful, just watch out for sasquatches.

Michael B.

Yelp
Three of us ate here and the other 2 had nice food; however, my burger was cooked to death and almost inedible The salad bar was nice and the servers were friendly but kept needing to be reminded to bring bits and pieces of our meal The prices are just ok for what you get I would come here again but I would try something else next time

Rosemary O.

Yelp
He had Nacho fries. Tons of pulled pork, white cheese and green onions. Was very good. I had the mini Hawaiian pizza. Very tasty they made it extra crispy for me. The star if the meal however was a delicious Raspberry Cheesecake. . Oh my made in-house it was perfect. So much so we took another home for dinner. Server was friendly and happy.

Yelp
We love Takodas! I would say by now we are somewhat regulars. First of all, the drive up here is beautiful... we are huge fans of the McKenzie River. Then, once you get here, it is a log house feel kind of inside... very cozy. My kids like how the whole restaurant is kind of a gift shop also.. lots of cute toys, puzzles, stuffed animal etc all around for sale downstairs and upstairs. As for the food, we've never been disappointed. My husband usually gets shepherds pie, I usually get the salad bar (which is super rare in restaurants nowadays so I super appreciate that they didn't get rid of it) and my kids usually get a personal pizza. Another thing you need to try here is their root beer on tap. So good! While we wait for our food, they have an awesome outside area with a pond with fish that my kids love. Then to top it all off, we all love that they have jelly bean dispensers with multiple flavors so my kids can pick a few flavors to enjoy on the way home. My kids call it "the jelly bean place". Definitely a must try if up River.

Yelp
This place was a nice surprise. Friendly staff, outdoor seating, micro brews, big portions. What else could you ask for? I split the Ruben with my guest and had cottage cheese. It was big enough for both of us especially since the doubles the cottage cheese so we both had enough to keep us happy. There was a 3.00 charge to do that but we were ok with that. Very cool place and free wifi. I'm going to bookmark this place so I can come back.
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying in the area and this was one of the only restaurants around. Good food and good price. Has a fun gift shop to browse around in as well. Service was quick and we look forward to coming back when we're in the area.

Miguel S.

Yelp
Visiting McKenzie Bridge from California, my family and I decided to visit Takoda's for our last night in Oregon... Takoda's did not disappoint. As we all know it's Covid season... the staff did an amazing job first of all. It's obvious the place is working on minimum staff, but they were all hustling! So let's go down the list... Good atmosphere... Check! Good local beer ... Check! Good food ... (Mac'n Cheese) ( Elk burger) Check! Great service ... Check! Keep it up Takoda's... McKenzie's real MVP's!

Andrew P.

Yelp
The best! The only thing better than the food is the staff! I felt at home! When I came back to Eugene I stoped at a brew pub in McKenzie called the station pub. It was just a few miles away from rainbow and it sucked! People and staff are so rude! You know when a small town family owns something. And you know when big city people take advantage of us! Go to takodas!
