Takrai has been one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Lucerne for years. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after work, a fitness session, or simply enjoying a relaxed evening, this place is perfect. The food is consistently great, and the open kitchen adds a special touch, with cleanliness standing out just as much as the flavors. It’s a place where you don’t need to worry about your outfit or mood—everyone is warmly welcomed, and you can feel that as soon as you walk in!

Ordered the Phat Kaphrau, a very famous Thai dish that I know well. This was so inauthentic I actually had to double check that it was the correct order. It had absolutely zero resemblance to the original dish. No minced meat, no holy basil (as on the menu), not even remotely hot, no fried egg, none of the correct sauces. Absolute travesty of a dish.

Definitely the best Thai restaurant in Lucerne. I had the peanut curry and it was DELICIOUS! They even made a vegetarian version for me. ❤️ Extremely kind service and cozy vibes.

Ordered takeaway. Great service, fair prices, tasty dishes. Personally prefer the fried noodles with vegetables (in picture) compared to to the pad thai (I tried this the next day). Also the dish of fried chicken with vegetables with some chilli (not pictured) was quite a bit oilier because of the chilli oil.

This Thai restaurant has been there for decades. When my husband and I feel like to have some soup, the Thai coconut chicken soup always comes to our mind. We take out the wonderfully packed soup enjoyed at the comfort of our home, the treat for a busy day. Yum Yum 😋

Good place for takeaways. It is a small restaurant and ideal for takeaways. There is place to dine in as well. Food was tasty and great. The owner is very friendly and warm. Recommended for takeaways

Takrai is a great find! Even though I arrived just before closing, the staff was very welcoming. The green curry chicken was delicious—rich and full of flavor. Highly recommended!

Decided when we walked by to grab some thai takeout to enjoy by the lake on a really lovely evening. Menu seems straightforward and similar to other thai places - we got the spring rolls, pad thai and vegetable noodles. Spring rolls were fine, but they were fried (I was hoping for the fresh ones); Pad Thai had a unique flavor to it vs. other places that I did not care for and could have used bean sprouts; Vegetable Noodles were relatively simple and tasted like chicken broth but otherwise did not have a sauce and could have had more vegetables. The food did the trick, service was friendly, but the food quality wasn't the best that we've had (especially at nearly 20CHF for each main dish).

Conveniently located for takeout to enjoy by the lake, nice staff but the food was not very good. The spring rolls were average (though friend and I was hoping for fresh), the pad Thai had a weird flavor to it that I didn't care for and the noodles with vegetables seemed to only have cabbage and carrots cooked in chicken broth but not much of a sauce or other flavor.

So they speak some Englishwet but the foodn is far from Thai. They seem like a lot to have thqqqqe right e mployees but not the right recipes. I Do not waste your time here and just go to the Donner/Kabab pla ce down the street. And Ladies the restroom is better than the free restroom off the street.

Lonely Planet recommends eating at Takrai. Vacationing across Swiss cities, we stopped at Takrai for carry out dinner. Excellent food! It was well prepared, fresh, and hot temperature wise. Lucerne is not an inexpensive city. This place is priced right. It you are in the area, I highly recommend it.
