Yelp
As we usually go to small, inexpensive and very authentic tapas-bars Taktika Berri was an unknown place to me. Even more unknown was the do's and don'ts. Lucky for me my mother-in-law filled me in on all the details, I was amazed, but the tips still turned out to be pretty useful. Therefor i have narrowed it down to three points: When, Where and What.
#01 - WHEN TO ARRIVE
Come early as there is a long que outside even before they open. First come, first served as they say. In this case that means that the first ones in the queue have the oppertunity to occupy the best seats.
#02 - WHERE TO SIT.
Choose your placing, and do it wisely. The general recommendation is to grab a seat at the bar and, if you can, as close to the middle as possible. Preferably so that you van keep eye contact with the bartender. Seated here you will have easy acces to the food when they bring it around. Believe me, it's smart. This place gets packed.
On the other hand, be aware that people will be at your back constantly and will stretch over you to get to the good stuff. A totally normal thing in tapas bars but a bit to close for this tourist. Still, if your not at the bar you will need to be the one stretching. For a shy Scandinavian that basically means you will leave the place on an empty stomach.
#03 - WHAT TO EAT.
The tapas are served constantly, and as soon as a tray is gone a new one arrives, just like anywhere else. Still the regulars tend to ignore the first servings. They are usually waiting for the stuff coming straight from the kitchens as these bites are considered better and more fancy and as they come in smaller portions. Raise a hand if you want a taste, these tapas are gone before the tray is on the counter. Even so all the bites, fancy or not, are tasty and they are all 1,45 € each. Even if your on a budget its easy to keep count. No color codes here!
