Came to Takumi BBQ and Ramen when I was recovering from my wisdom teeth removal and left still wanting more!
We came on a Saturday afternoon around 5 pm and were seated immediately, however just be aware that you are unable to place reservations online or through the phone. Service was super quick and even more friendly! Every time a new customer came in, every worker in the establishment greeted them. It definitely livened up the atmosphere. Our food also came almost immediately and even all at once - we were running out of space at our table! Luckily there is space by the windows that you can put your plates on.
Our party ordered mostly the beef options, including lamb, and all were great, pretty typical cuts for your usual bbq place. When you order the ribeye, it arrives as whole rib eye steak (2 orders per person), so it's quite the heavy portion! It was good, however slightly on the chewy side. I'm a big fan of all the seasonings they provide on the side, including Himalayan salt, Black pepper, some kind of seasoning salt, bbq sauce, spicy bbq sauce, ponzu, and the best part of all bbq restaurants, the spicy seasoning powder. If you found the meats here bland, then you aren't using the sauces and spices properly! Pro tip is to season with salt and pepper, then once you finished cooking it dip it into your sauce of choice and then into the spicy seasoning mix - absolutely heaven.
Even though I couldn't have everything due to diet restrictions after wisdom teeth extractions, the standouts were definitely the boneless beef short rib and marinated beef short rib, garlic shrimp, the poke bowl with spicy mayo, and the black forest roll.
The salmon onigiri was a bit of a miss - essentially some canned tuna with too much mayo placed on a sheet of seaweed. I also wish they had more options for side dishes like bean sprout, but you can order garlic, green onions along with your meat, or garlic oil with your vegetables so that definitely makes up for it!
Something interesting they have is their green tea creme brûlée. I was a fan, although definitely leaning towards more of a mousse/light cheesecake texture rather than crème brûlée. Their ice cream scoops come in the tiny foam cups you used to get in elementary school - but even so the ice cream still slaps!
Mississauga is a bit of ways from where I live but I would definitely come back if I was in the area. Possibly one of my top 3 AYCE BBQ places I've been to!
