"Tipples and Nibbles in Amsterdam Cocktail bar-restaurants typically excel at one or the other, rarely both tipple and nibble. Four month old Tales & Spirits, located in the beating heart of Amsterdam , manages to succeed on both fronts. The cocktails are both creative in name and flavor (I opted for a Fallen Lady with vodka, deep fruit flavors and a dusting of chocolate and pepper), affordable and strong for the initiated cocktail lover. Spa still water is offered on the house with each drink ordered- a nice touch when the alcohol bill starts climbing. While I enjoyed my drink, it was the food menu that caught and held onto my attention. My truffle and wild sautéed mushroom risotto was impeccable in taste and size, leaving me sufficient room to test out one of their desserts of the moment. Most of the dishes on the menu are small so prepare to order several to share. And, of course, given the spot's short order popularity, it's wise to book ahead."

"Tales & Spirits is one of Amsterdam's top destinations for creative cocktails like the "Pretty in Pink," made with Hayman's Old Tom, fresh lemon, raspberry, celery foam, and soda. But traditionalists will be happy too; the menu features plenty of classics, including a take on the tiki fave Zombie that blends four different rums with pineapple, lime, and grapefruit juices, falernum, cinnamon syrup, passionfruit, and absinthe." - Meredith Bethune

Fantastic cocktails, fantastic service. Our waiter was great and made special drinks based on our preferences. Everything was fantastic. The crunchy chicken was delicious too. We had a great experience and definitely recommend!

Nice spot next to city center. I appreciated the decoration of the bar. Interesting cocktails, with well-balanced flavors. 🍹 The staff was very courteous and made you feel comfortable. I recommend it both for groups and solo customers. 👌👌

Google
A genuinely fun and carefully tailored place that has provided me comfort over they years in Amsterdam. I say that despite the fact that I drink mostly strong and simple cocktails while Tales and Spirits focuses on fun, exciting, sometimes gimmicky and never minimalist drinks. I love the cozy atmosphere and the attention you get. Most cocktails focus on the ingredients and are never a mess and never over decorated, even when a touch too sweet to my taste. Tiki I love and it’s supposed to be sweet so most of the cocktails I get here are tiki style. In any case, this bar is one of the best in Amsterdam and certainly the coziest and most comfortable for me.

I visited this amazing little place 3 times on my recent visit! What an absolute gem - friendly, attentive staff, and incredible bartenders! I tried 5 drinks from the menu, but the “Shut the Fuck Up George” may be my favorite! Thank you so much for your hospitality- I will return soon and tell everyone I know!

Google
Very good experience at the Tales&Spirits, the maître d’ was very nice, welcoming and funny. The cocktails were very good. Unpictured here but we also ordered some bitterballen which were delicious. Free crackers while we order, free water (SPA) with your cocktail to stay hydrated, each cocktail is between 10 and 20€. Highly recommend for anyone over 21 who are looking for an experience.

Google
Best cocktail bar I've ever been to. All the bartenders know an incredible amount about booze of all kinds and can make and recommend off-menu drinks based on your tastes. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely patrons.

Google
I recently visited this bar and I have to say it was an absolutely amazing experience! Upon entering I was greeted by smiling and friendly staff who immediately created a great atmosphere. Their approach was really professional and friendly, which made me immediately happy. There were delicious chilli peppers waiting for us on the table which added the perfect touch to the evening. They were fresh and spicy - just the way I like it! As for the drinks, they were really strong and perfectly mixed. Every sip was delicious and full of flavour, which definitely added to the memorable experience. Overall, I was thrilled with this place and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a bar with great staff, great drinks and tasty treats, check this one out.

Google
This place was amazing in every regards I can think of. Cocktails were stellar. The host and bartender were super friendly. The vibe was exactly what you want in a high end cocktail bar. They gave us these cool warming cushions to use since my significant other was a little chilly. I will certainly be back to this place next time I’m in Amsterdam. Best cocktail bar I’ve been in years.

Yelp
I was walking by and heard some good tunes and I saw chandeliers hanging over the hopping bar. I jumped in for some great cocktails and some chatter with the cool owner and bar tender and patrons. Great craft cocktails! Order the zombie. It's a drink and a show!

Yelp
We were exploring Amsterdam all day and really needed a drink! 20,000+ steps will do that to you. A friend visited Tales and Spirits a few years ago and recommended we go there if we had the chance. Apple Maps told me we were less than 1/2 mile away so we headed over there. Located just off a canal on a pedestrian walkway basically at the start of the Red Light District, we arrived soon after they opened and got a nice table near the bar. Forget ordering what you usually drink- the menu has dozens of concoctions most of which looked real good. I ordered a "T&S Old Fashion and my wife had "The Girl Next Door". Both were drink types we usually don't order but we loved them enough to order another round. Speaking of the menu-it's pretty entertaining besides all the drink choices. Also entertaining was watching the bartenders making the drinks with a huge flair of showmanship. Music tracks were great as well. Could have just stayed to listen to the music. The food options looked tasty as well but we were still full from lunch so we just opted to drink. By the time we left, Tales was pretty full. A fun place to come back to and recommend to friends.

Yelp
First day in Amsterdam and was super tired. Asked at our hotel about a spot for a cocktail and small plates for dinner and was sent to Tales & Spirits. After a very short walk, we arrived. The place was small but adds to the charm. Nice decor and friendly service. We each had 2 cocktails and split an order of Bitterballen and Truffle Risotto. I had never had Bitterballen but figured since I was in Holland, it was a must. So good. I would definitely recommend for a cocktail before/after dinner or if you're looking for some appetizers/small plates. Great spot.

Yelp
We LOVE this joint! Eclectic, chill, original, comfortable and noteworthy! Fantastically attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable service! Bar snack menu was a great accompaniment to the fantastic cocktails! The music selection was THE BEST I have experienced in three times to Amsterdam! You will remember this place!

Yelp
Literally one of my favorite bar experiences of my life! The drinks were inspired and the bartenders were super friendly. I had the 'what if' drink and the zombie drink. Both were excellent cocktails! I wish I could have gone back multiple times during my trip. It was absolutely amazing! Definitely make it a point to stop by here! My absolute favorite stop of my trip

Yelp
Fantastic service and excellent cocktails, the small touches like a water and snacks are just a bonus. The ambiance is nice. Upbeat enough to let you know you're out but chill enough to de- stress.

Yelp
I've been trying to do numerous reviews for this place because I absolutely adore it. First of all, the people there are extremely friendly. It started raining while we were sitting outside and they grabbed everything and rushed us inside (we were covered so it wasn't a big deal but they didn't want to risk it). The drinks were super tasty. They showed off a little fire with the Zombie. Their old fashioned was perfection and just the overall place was super chill and cozy. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stop by in Amsterdam! Major plus was that it was a 3 min walk from our hotel!

Yelp
Omg.....amazing cocktail bar. My husband and I found this place on the World's Top 100 bars. It's towards the end of the list, #97 to be exact....and we couldn't figure out why. We came here before dinner, and they were able to squeeze us into the packed bar! Also, the turnaround is quite quick here, so I feel like people didn't have to wait long, surprisingly. The service I think is what stands out the most. Get ready for extroverted staff that are ready to socialize with you. They will ask your name, where you are from, how long you're in Amsterdam, where to next, etc. etc. Fun times. I think our bartender's name was John....he even handed us his phone so that we could add restaurants, bars, and other recs for cities we've been to. He called it his world traveler list. Anyway, to the drinks, they were so good!!!!! The kind of drinks that come in unique mugs etc. For instance, one drink is called Splish Splash, and it comes in a bathtub with a doll inside. When they deliver it to your table too, they change the music to the "splish splash" song (blasting), and they deliver it to your table (while also giving you an umbrella) with the whole bar looking. Wow lol. Now that is entertainment. I also got some tiki drink that they lit on fire! They had a really cute menu and I wish I could've taken it home for the memories. Fun times here, wish I could have gone back! Highly recommended for an entertaining night!

Yelp
I couldn't imagine a better bar experience. Cocktails are incredible! Best in class, but what really sets them aside is the people who work there. John, beau (sorry if spelling is wrong), Rosie and Sam... you are our people! Thank you for making us feel at home, sharing your stories and your hospitality... we will be back EVERY TIME we visit and hope you find us in SF. Cheers! Brock & Kristina

Great place with great cocktails that was apparently rated one of the best in the world at some point!

Yelp
This review is a long time coming! My fiancé and I were in Amsterdam celebrating our anniversary last year. Cocktail bars are one of favorite things to do and we researched and found Tales & Spirits. When we arrived we were seated at a table right away as there were no bar seats open. Within a few minutes bar seats opened up so we asked our server if we could move. Let's face it, the best seat at a cocktails bar is at the bar to watch the drinks be made and talk with the mixologist. Easy round of our drinks were delicious and I loved the little spin on some of them coming out with props. One came out with a car and that was an awesome touch. The mixologists were friendly and really passionate about the drinks they were making. Whenever we are back in Amsterdam we will definitely come back here!
google avatar

Yelp
Energetic atmosphere. Craft, only begins to describe the drinks, we just told them to make us what they wanted and were never disappointed. There is a lot of R and D going into these drinks and these guys may need a liver donation. We loved it!

Yelp
What an amazing find!! We stop by here after reading a few Yelp reviews and were so glad we did! As soon as we entered, and was greeted to take our jackets, we knew this was a special place. It seems like every employee here was just happy to serve us, no matter if it was taking our drink order, just stopping by the table to make sure everything was OK, or just stopping by to chit chat. We completely felt like we were an everyday local here. The drinks we amazing...our table had everything from a Dirty Gin Martini, a Manhattan, a Drop of Art, a General Lee and a Vodka Martini... All equally tasty and made perfectly. No matter what server took our order, they all were very knowledgeable is cocktails and the menu. We also had a few small bites; the Jalapeño Poppers, the Chicken Bites, and the Cheese Plate. Over all, we had a great evening of cocktails and small bites, in an amazing cocktail bar, with friendly and knowledgeable staff that really made our day!

Yelp
We were welcomed by a delightful host who doubled as our waiter. I'd say about half of the customers were eating and half were having drinks. They have a policy to not allow people to sit at the bar. There are no barstools, and we didn't see anyone standing by the bar, only seated at tables. That being said, the menu did say that they would make exceptions to allow for standing room drinkers, possibly for later in the evening. It seemed to us like the place does a good job managing this, as the place was packed but not overcrowded. Back to the menu. It was long, with plentiful options. It wasn't the best organized menu, other than the specific old fashioned section that immediately caught my husband's eye. The drink names are all puns, some movie or pop culture based and some just general. It was funny, but it wasn't as clear as being separated by a time period or variety of alcohol like I've seen at other upscale cocktail bars. But they all seemed pretty tantalizing once you found your choice. My husband ordered the Charlie Brown, a peanut old fashioned, while I had the What about Bob, a gin and egg white concoction. Both were delicious. The reason I give them 5 stars was my husband's next drink. He went off menu and asked if they'd make a simple Manhattan. Our waiter asked specifically about bourbon or rye, dry or sweet, and what garnish he wanted. Above and beyond for a bartender, let alone a waiter. Well done T&S! We'll definitely be back if and when we return to Amsterdam.

Yelp
This is the best bar I have ever gone to in my life - and I have been to many bars. This one has the most fun cocktail menu. Every drink had a story to it (hence the bar name). The staff are super friendly, great at holding a conversation, and makes the whole experience even better. I was here alone and I really appreciated how nice they were. My favourites include the Van Gogh which provides you a palette to "paint" (aka create) your own absinthe cocktail and the old fashioned that was called Charlie Brown and based on the Peanuts comic strip (and had a PB flavour to it). I also loved their whole Star Wars menu and the rest of the old fashioned menu. Another great one was "No Regrets" - where they had you write down a regret - and they threw it away for you. There was one two person drink called Splish Splash and came in a bath tub with a Barbie in it - then the whole staff would sing the song. I definitely highly recommend this spot if you're in town and love a show plus a delicious, amazingly well-made cocktail!

Yelp
Had a great experience at Tales & Spirits. Solo business traveler and was able to get a seat the bar. John the bartender was great to talk with and was able to walk me thru their drink menu; however, he ultimately made me two different drinks one with Gin and one with Genevar. They were working off a limited bar menu since they haven't full re-opened the kitchen with ongoing covid, etc. Great ambiance and decor and and too loud. A short walk off the main central AMS corridor but nice views in the side streets.

Yelp
Stopped in for a pre dinner cocktail. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Snacks/bar food were delicious, so many cocktail options and we loved our choices. The vibe in there is really intimate with low light. We will definitely go back next time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Speakeasy much ? This bar is amazing!! You're first greeted by the boss who takes your jackets and brings you to your table. We had a great server who came up to us and explained each drink because they had stories behind each cocktail drink, just one page dedicated to the types of OLD FASHIONS MY FAV! Of course first drink was an old fashion and it was served right with a big square block of ice and a beautiful orange peel. With every drink you buy you get a bottle of water, because they don't want you getting sick and to stay hydrated. As my night went on we noticed this drink called the muerta which was deathly, so strong that you could only order 2 per person. It was 6 types of liquor mixed with flower peddles served in a skull mug. Upstairs bathroom is full of love quotes and inspirational ones for women with cute paintings on the wall. The couple beside us decided to "Dine& dash" we had no idea as we were having so much fun we didn't even notice. The boss caught the couple thank god. This place isn't cheap so keep that mind, each muerta was 18 euros.

Yelp
Tales and Spirits is one of my favorite spots in all of Europe . They are still going strong after 10 years. Great drinks, great service, and an all around great atmosphere. It is located on a side street which makes it feel like an extraordinary find, but it is very popular with the locals and visitors alike. I wish them success for another 10 years and beyond. Cheers!

Yelp
Gets a little crowded. Sits in a centuries old building. Outside seating available (at least in the summer). Space is small, vintage, antiqued, but relaxed. Cocktails are served in creative vessels. Menu is vast, filled with classics and experimentals. Drinks were delicious. Service is quick and friendly.

Rob B.

Yelp
Great cocktails, would be even better if you could reserve a table. Similar quality can be found at Rosalia's menagerie where you can actually guarantee yourself a table
google avatar

Yelp
Dear Cocktail bars that claim to be creative, Take notes from Tales & Spirits (minus the Robert E Lee cocktail... I can't with that). They are creative, delicious, and strong. Signed, KT I had the Mango Unchained which was a delicious puréed mango cocktail with a chili spice and surprise cotton candy. The smoke and mirrors is an experience. You can get a drink IN A BOAT. The literal vehicles used to present and serve these craft creations are so clever. The drinks are very well made but the service is pretty average overall. It's a must see for any craft cocktail lovers visiting Amsterdam.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Tales and Spirits really blew me away. We heard about it from a bar in Paris and I am so glad we stopped by. When we arrived, it was really crowded. We were welcomed immediately; there's not really a formal process or wait-list. If you want to wait for a table, you go outside and sit on the bench to reserve your spot in line. We waited outside and were seated pretty quickly. Service here is excellent. The cocktail menu is extensive and features unique, craft cocktails. Each cocktail is served with a bottle of water. I ordered the Little Miss Trouble - the menu describes it as an inspiration from Amelia cocktail from EO (NYC). It is a combination of Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh lemon juice, blackberry puree, and St. Germain elderflower. It was one of the best cocktails I've EVER had. I highly recommend Tales and Spirits. I can't wait to go back to Amsterdam and visit again.
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
A wonderful experience. The cocktails are creative and tasty. Each drink is thoughtfully assembled and very well presented. Their glassware is eclectic and engaging. Their bar food was very good - contributing to a very good time. The staff is engaging and helpful. The room is comfortable but small.

James B.

Yelp
No joke the best bar I have ever been to. Not only the most unbelievable drinks (get the Star Wars drink if you want something mind blowing) but also incredible service. Highly recommend sitting at the bar and talking with the world class bartenders. We ended up going back 3 nights in a row because it was that good. Thanks Tales and Spirits!

Yelp
Stopped in on a Wednesday night around 10pm and was able to get a table for two right away. Getting seated, we were given some chips and homemade chutney dip, as well as the menus. The menu is a large, hard cover book that opens to a story about the bar and many many pages about their current drink specials, signature cocktails, a whole section of Old Fashioneds, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks. Interestingly, the bar teamed up with Spa water brand, allowing for a bottle of water to be served with each cocktail ordered, free of charge. In the states, we are used to tap water at restaurants. Many places here only have bottled still or sparkling water in restaurants that you have to pay for. I got two drinks, the first being an old fashioned, which had Irish whiskey, Guinness reduction, and pear. It was smooth and light on flavor. The second drink was "Life is like a ...?" - rum, some chocolate flavor, and a bit of absinthe made this drink taste spectacular. On top of the flavor, it was served in a gift wrapped box with a chocolate wrapped up alongside it. The service was very good, both in terms of efficiency and attitude. The 90s and early 2000s music, though not very loud, added a great touch to the already fun experience. Would definitely recommend making a visit to this place! I would like to return, too!

Yelp
Cozy little cocktail spot with great service! Was disappointed to find out they discontinued the van gough themed art cocktail (due to people stealing the palate!) but still enjoyed myself. Servers happy to help navigate unifamiliares in the menu, close quarters to other patrons but we ended up striking up convo with neighbors. Make sure to check their schedule as they are closed a few days per week.
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot for craft cocktails!! This menu is a great read- humor along with detailed descriptions of all of their cocktails. (& I loved that they serve a fresh bottle of water with every cocktail they serve you!! Gotta keep hydrated!) We sat outside on the narrow, bustling street- great for people watching while sipping our delicious cocktails! We also ordered raw oysters & had to try the Bitterballen-Both were delicious!! The oysters were fresh & clean- very flavorful & the Bitterballen with mustard were very tasty also! Definitely a GREAT stop for a beautiful & delicious drink along with tasty food!! The waiters were all very nice & knowledgeable- fun to talk with!

Yelp
OMG!! THIS PLACE IS TO DIE FOR! Service is aaaaammmmmmaaaaaazzzzzziiiiiinnnnnngggggg the food is delicious and the cocktails are unbelievable since I have left Arizona I have been craving a place like this in and now I've finally found it! The servers are able to recommend you drinks that are spot on and the menu has fun extremely well thought out drinks. Everything in this place is thought out with minute detail and it makes it absolutely exquisite. You also get a water with every cocktail which is nice for health reasons, plus where else do you get free water in this country? I had 4 drinks every single one was fantastic and it was hard to stop there are just so many great options! Next time though I'm definitely getting the Smoke and mirrors!
google avatar

Yelp
I've only been here once, but it's already a favorite! I stopped here on my last night in Amsterdam & found the place to be very welcoming. And they had a menu specifically for Old Fashioned drinks, so that helped too! ;) I sat outside and shared a table with a couple until a spot at the bar opened up. I tried a few Old Fashioned drinks and enjoyed all of them. So glad I found this place! The host & bartender were great! I had the risotto and it was delicious. I will definitely stop by during my next visit.

Yelp
Stopped in just as they opened, after spending the day on a walking tour through Amsterdam. I'm glad I found this place! The service was attentive, and the food was delicious. The owner greeted everyone coming in. I had a couple glasses of the Bancal Del Bosc, a spicy red wine. I ate a couple small plates: Ebi Katsu (crisp prawns), and Pork Buns (pork belly). They were delicious and just the right portion. I will certainly come back to this place next time I'm in

Yelp
I love sexy cocktail bars and Tales & Spirits is most definitely a sexy cocktail bar. We arrived on a Thursday and scored a corner table which was more than a little cozy once the table next to us was seated, but we were just happy to get seats at all. A bit later, as space opened up, we were moved to a table with a bit more breathing room. The menu is like a book; I don't know how anyone could go through the whole thing in order to narrow down a selection! I went straight to the NA cocktails and selected one of the lemonades with elderflower. This may sound a little basic, but it turned out to be one of the nicest alcohol free cocktails I've had. I absolutely loved the flavor and the presentation was very pretty. I switched it up for my next drink and ended up wishing I had stuck with my first choice. My husband tried a medley of cocktails, one of which was served in a cigar box. Fun! It's also worth noting that the servers were great (we had two because of the seat swap) and the doorman/host was on his A game and really excelled at the host part. Sometimes cocktail bars come with an attitude and there was none of that here.

Yelp
Good spot for nice cocktails on a relatively quiet street in the inner city. We showed up late with a group of 6 and no reservations and were seated right away at a picnic table outside the restaurant. I didn't go inside the restaurant, but from a peek, it looked cozy and upscale. Drinks were good- I really enjoyed my "Girl Next Door" cocktail, which was refreshing with a lemonade flavor. A couple of the people in our group ordered the Zombie cocktails, which were served by the bartender with a fun tableside presentation that involved the cocktails literally flaming. Service was good. The drink menu has so many options we were all a bit overwhelmed, and the server did a great job helping us narrow down our selections based on the type of drinks we wanted. Food was good but not great. Truffle risotto was disappointing - undercooked and lacking in flavor. Jalapeño poppers were spicy, fresh and tasty. Crunchy chicken was delicious and hands down the favorite. Fried perfectly and in a yummy sauce.

Yelp
When in Amsterdam this is definitely a bar I highly recommend. It's like a great American bar nestled in the heart of Amsterdam. Drinks and food are just delicious. So good we came back 3x that week.

Yelp
We walked a distance to try this place and arrive a little after they opened around 5:45pm on a Sunday. One bartender greeted us at the door and we could choose our seat. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating based on size of the building. There is a unique description or story for each drink in the vast drinking menu. For every alcoholic drink you order, they provide you with a mini bottle of water. My husband and I ordered the Girl Next Door, Brothers In Arms, and shared the Love at Midnight. The drinks were strong, tasty, and uniquely served. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about their drinks and could make recommendations if asked. When you go, if there is time, read the menu for a good laugh and understanding about this bar's attitude and passion for drinks.

Yelp
I'm lucky enough to travel a fair amount, and Tales & Spirits is hands down one of my favorite bars in the entire world. The cocktails are always out of this world, and the bartenders and servers are all super knowledgable and personable. The menu itself is a work of art - it's really clever and snarky and entertaining to read through; make sure you check out the house rules! It can definitely be a bit daunting as they have a really huge cocktail selection, but the staff can always help guide you in the right direction. The drinks are all presented beautifully, with a little backstory behind each one. And be careful, because they are STRONG! Another nice little touch is that they give you a free bottle of water with each cocktail, which makes me feel a little more like a responsible adult. And for all you Harry Potter fans, the entrance is basically located on Diagon Alley.

Jonquil R.

Yelp
Wonderful cocktails, friendly staff, lovely ambiance, good enough that half of my nights in Amsterdam were spent here. Nunu gave me some excellent recommendations for things to do in Amsterdam. When I come back to Amsterdam one of these days I'll definitely come back here. This place is good for those who know lots about cocktails as well as novices. I couldn't decide so the bartenders asked me what kind of flavors I like, what kind of liquor I wanted, and made me something delicious (though I couldn't tell you which it was from the menu!)

Yelp
- The food here was just alright, but the drinks are all made with love and care - Get here fast, because if I owned a bar in US, I would certainly try and raid these bartenders...They are perfect - It's good for groups and meet-ups

Yelp
Really fun bar! Every cocktail has a story and the staff seem to really enjoy each other's company. A bit of a tourist lure due to location and press but keeps its composure due to their seated room only policy. The posture of bartenders is a bit cliquey but that seems to be the norm in high cocktail society and has been forever really. I appreciate the brazen disregard for convention in all forms of menu construction! Would love to see more of that all over!
google avatar

Yelp
Great creative cocktail bar with inside/outside seating. I tried a few drinks, my favorite was the General Lee. The staff here was nice and the place has a great feel to it. I was able to sit outside and people watch from the sidewalk and we had some drinks.

Yelp
Very fun and friendly bar tenders. Touristy spot so you get to chat with people from over passing through. The menus have the tales and is a fun read itself. The drinks are mostly fruity .. but they will make you a decent one if you ask. Fun hangout for a few for sure. Airto is a super cool bartender and an NBA fan.

Yelp
Really cool spot for some small bites and super creative cocktails!! My boyfriend and I came here at around 6PM and was able to get a table without a reservation. The atmosphere of this place is very speakeasy-like which just made us more excited to try some of the drinks they had in their menu. For food, we ordered the truffle risotto, skewers, and the foie gras sliders. I definitely made the mistake of thinking this place would be a dinner spot, because the portions are very small. It's definitely more for snacking, especially because the prices for food are not cheap. So if you're looking for a filling dinner place, look elsewhere. That being said, the risotto and sliders were delicious!! The skewers were pretty average, I would not recommend ordering those. For drinks, my boyfriend ordered one of their speciality Manhattans, and I got the Pink Lady. We both loved our drinks. The Pink Lady was probably the most beautiful drink I've ever had. It came with rose petals on top with a pink meringue as the center of the "rose." Presentation was A+!

Yelp
Good service and great cocktails, but DON'T order food! We went there on our last night in Amsterdam because we saw the place had great reviews. The staff was super friendly and we ordered a couple of fantastic cocktails. The menu is all small plates, so we ordered 3 things and planned to get some more afterwards. The steak was good, but the fish course was so-so, and the Gyoza were terrible! The broth the Gyoza was served in was completely unseasoned and the the dumpling were gross. We paid our bill and left, still hungry. The prices are high and totally out of whack with the quality of the food. I'd definitely recommend this place for drinks but definitely stay away from the food!

Yelp
Nice cocktail list but more appreciated the fact that they custom made something for me based on a couple of preferences I expressed. I would say however that more than the cocktails, the service stood out to me. The staff were fun, engaging and extremely attentive to their guests. Special call out for Nuno.

Yelp
Beautifully presented cocktails and super friendly staff. My drink came in a lit light bulb with flowers and mint called Elixir, which is similar to a Negroni or Boullavadier. It was cool looking but too light for my taste buds. Snacks were decent but not amazing. Bitterballen was probably the tastiest out of the crispy chicken and fennel sausage. Overall, a cool spot with great energy

Yelp
FUN, quaint and unique bar This is advertised as a "speak easy" type bar which I didn't really understand? Nonetheless it was very quaint and cozy. The waitress was friendly and helpful. My drink was served in a gift box with a piece of chocolate candy (so unique!) the person at the table next to me had a drink that was set on fire... just a fun place with great decor and interesting drinks

Yelp
First - the staff is happy joyful friendly and helpful. Every one of them smiles and loves being there. The host sets the tone. He clearly loves what he does and loves the joint. First time in A'dam and it's the best bar food and drinks in the city. Keep it up!!!

Yelp
We stepped in here at 6pm on a chilly, wet evening. Worried that they weren't open yet, we cautiously made our way inside. Welcoming us with warm banter were two very charming and handsome young men. They sat us down, gave us menus and continued with more cheery banter. After we explored the menu, we found some wonderful cocktails to start off the evening. Then we placed our food order and we wanted to share a few items. The prices are high for Amsterdam, but the ambiance, attention and fine fare is worth it. Our most stunning dish, by far, was the mushroom risotto. It was a very tiny portion that we were sharing (fighting over). The other dishes we ordered were good, though forgettable, because I'm having trouble remembering what they were. I just remember wishing that we had more of the amazing risotto. The bathrooms were colorfully decorated with wonderful quotes about love. It made using the restroom feel as though you were reading a book of sonets. On our next visit to Amsterdam, I will absolutely be coming back to this restaurant and ordering my own risotto (not for sharing). Along with some delicious drinks!
