Tall Timbers Tasmania

What a wonderful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wished we were there for more than one night. The unit was lovely and quite spacious. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. It was nice to have a small table and chairs. Parking is right outside the unit. We used the heated pool and spa. There is also a gym for guests in the same complex. We had a drink in the bar which was a relaxing area and later decided to dine in the restaurant. We ordered pizzas which were delicious. Service was excellent despite the fact the place was packed. The whole setting for accommodation etc. was beautiful. We were warming greeted at check in and received a friendly farewell. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

We had dinner in the bistro the other night and the meal size and quality did not reflect the expensive price you pay for the food. The linguine serving size was tiny and barely had any seafood in it and for $40 was definitely not worth it. Staff were friendly however very pushy about ordering as soon as we sat down so we felt rather rushed. Probably would go somewhere else next time.

Stayed at the free camping with our Avan camper. Great location and grassed area near small stream on outskirts of town. Dinner at resort was great and worth the $$'s. Toilets in resort or at nearby tourist info centre.

Amazing cottages. Beds super comfy and the staff were very polite .|Kauri restaurant was amazing. I'd recommend the steak chef did a really good job. Variety of options for breakfast.|Pool was great even though the spa wasn't as hot as it was ment to be.

Large property on the outskirts of town. Room big albeit bland. Good bathroom. - pity about the wafer thin toilet paper. Most rooms face each other which is abut ordinary despite the nice bush setting. Excellent dinner and good breakfast. Recommended.

We love staying at Tall Timbers. We have stayed here twice now as it’s a great location to explore the north west of Tasmania. The rooms are clean and well maintained. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment/unit and it was great for our needs. The little kitchen was useful too.

I stayed here for a week. I found the room / cabin to be dreary and poorly lit. This place had delusions of grandeur in relation to their food especially. In my opinion the whole place had a gloomy air. They have an arrogant attitude as there is not much opposition in Smithton so think they have a monopoly on accommodation. There are alternatives which I found eventually. I would never return to “Tall Poppies” a very poor experience.

We had the best stay. We spent over an hour in the pool and spa after dinner then went back to our room to watch a movie. The restaurant was delicious and every staff member was super knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
