We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, very clean, quiet, and well appointed. There was ample space, 2 bathrooms - including a full size bath in one, and the bonus was a washer and dryer in the main bedroom ensuite. This was our last stop on our Tassie trip so it was good to be able to wash all our clothes before the return trip home. The location was perfect for us to be able to easily do the Tarkine drive in a day, including the Arthur River area. From our balcony we overlooked the pond/lake which was home to lots of birds and frogs. We also had some wallabies feeding in front of the balcony at dawn and dusk. While staying we made use of the pool and spa, which were pleasantly warm. The gym looks good, although we didn't use it. There are change rooms in that complex, so you don't have to do a cold walk back to your room. We dined in the bistro, which is a bit pricey given many of the same menu items are available in the sports bar for a cheaper price. However I am a vegetarian and there was a better veg option in the bistro. The food itself was delicious. On our final morning we ordered room service - cooked breakfasts. These were great value for money and very large portions. Highly recommend. We would definitely stay again.

I have stayed here a number of times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and diligently serviced daily. The restaurant serves great quality reasonably priced meals and the buffet breakfast is fantastic. Remember to pack your togs to make use of the heated indoor swimming pool.

We stayed several nights on our west coast adventure, visiting Stanley, Smithton and the Tarkine Drive. We last stayed here over 10 years ago and while renovations and some other things have changed, the peaceful atmosphere, quiet nights and friendly staff made it feel like coming home. We even stayed in the same apartment as our last trip! The bedroom was comfortable, great bed, good shower, heated up very quickly on some very cold mornings! The bistro was some of the best food we've had on our trip from the beef fillet and lamb shoulder one night, to the pizza the next. We didn't get to eat breakfast here since we were so comfortable we overslept each day!

We stayed in one of the older 2 bedroom units which are not overlooking the lake. Strangely. you couldn't book it online but had to phone and the lakeside ones were apparently sold out online but given there were literally only 4 other guests throughout or stay, we wonder why?||However, we were happy with our unit. It was on the old fashioned side but met our needs. The couple stayed in the queen bedroom and the solo traveller had a single bed in the twin bedroom. We had 4 hot plates but needed 2 frying pans... Large fridge and freezer plus a washer and dryer were useful. We would have liked an oven and a dishwasher...||The price was $250 a night - it would be nice if they had direct booking deals for locals... Encourage us to come back!||The bathroom looked newly renovated and they were generous with towels, toiletries and tea/coffee/biscuits.||Leisure facilities are great - nice warm pool but the hot tub could be hotter. The tennis courts were good too. ||Staff were pleasant and the housekeeping were excellent.||A nasty thing at the end if the hefty credit card surcharge of 1.8% on visa and even more on Amex. I have my own microbusiness and I am only charged 1.5% for all cards! If you are seriously paying this much to your bank (and the law says you shouldn't be charging more than you are paying!), then time to change banks. ||Great location to explore the Tarkine and we used the nearby Woolies supermarket for our supplies.

Generally, the experience was okay; we did have some problems with room lighting due to incorrect light fittings being used, this detracted from being able to read for the first night. Room service breakfast was rather disappointing as the cook/chef had to return to the room twice to bring items that he'd marked off our menu and had neglected to plate or ones he had missed. The first night dinner in the bistro was good. I don't think we'd stay again.

Lovely spacious motel style accommodation. All the staff were lovely and all our requests were filled. Bathrooms seem to have been very recently renovated. We also had some nice food and drinks at the pub on site. It's a great base to visit the Tarkine.

We stayed 2 nights at Tall Timbers and wish we stayed longer. The Lakeside apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed for a relaxing stay.|Welcoming, friendly staff and a restaurant menu with a good variety to choose from. A roaring fire was welcome after a chilly day sightseeing. Heated pool and spa another bonus.|We definitely recommend a stay at Tall Timbers and will be returning for a longer stay next time

The staff are friendly and the scenery of the place is excellent. We had a great time and will be back.||Pros - breakfast buffet excellent, room views, front bar atmosphere (best parmi ever!), heated pool, room cleaning service, dining||Cons - bed, free internet slow and can only connect devices if you have internet access to input password, kids gaming in bistro some machines/controllers broken, breakfast buffet atmosphere (we were usually the only ones and it should be included in the price to drive numbers because it is good)
