A cool museum which shows how people lived in Tallinn hundreds of years ago. It looks tiny but inside it is rather spacious. I enjoyed all the exhibitions and a tour. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum will be closed for almost a year, so I am looking forward to visiting a reopened museum.

Lovely museum with a lot of history from the origins of Revel and then Tallinn as well as a great basement with an old well and so many ceramics! Great exhibits of which a lot were just in Estonian but the visuals really gave you a lot of information anyway

Tallinn City Museum is located in the old part of the city. It depicts the history of Estonia's capital, showcasing artifacts, exhibitions, and interactive displays that bring the city's past to life: city boundaries and fortification, maritime transport, everyday life and dwelling, royal family belongings, exquisite collection of bags from 1900s. On the top floor is the 18+ section named the Indecent Tallinn.

A nice little gem for history lovers. Very unassuming when you walk in, but the museum has four floors of exhibits. Don’t miss the basement or the top floor for 18+. It was very educational. I particularly enjoyed the section on guildsmen and how the old guild systems work. Now I know where the title “journeymen” comes from. 🤔

Smallish and varied. Very interesting all about Tallinn. Only really worth it if you buy the Tallinn Tourist Card and do 3 or 4 museums a day. Great friendly staff. Special, naughty temporary exhibition on the top floor! Spent about an hour here because it was our third day of non-stop sightseeing, to get value out of the Tallinn Tourist Card, so had museum fatigue! The building itself is super cool, with winding stairs and interesting windows. It was quiet on a Monday afternoon.

Nice and interesting museum. It includes a lot of information about the history of the city of Tallinn. It is easy to spend a couple of hours navigating yourself around. The number of the artifacts and the exhibitions is big and the information provided in the texts is sufficient. The location is perfect inside the old town and for sure worth a visit.

You can tell the museum has made decent efforts. A total of 5 floors. The first floor offers a fairly comprehensive look of Tallin history - the brochure in English is very useful. Don’t miss the exhibition on top floor - Indecent Tallin - about sex, which is sort of mind blowing.

Very interesting place. It’s rather small and with limited materials but it gives you a good idea of the history of Tallinn.
