The restaurant has that old school theme. We showed up around 1pm and there was plenty of seats. The service was great and the food was good. We got the fried green tomatoes and they were great. My lady got the chicken strips and she said it was cooked perfectly. The okra was overcooked and hard. I got a double meat cheese burger with bacon and fries. The burger was great, loved it. The fries I didn't really care for. We will totally go back and try a few other items. The roast looks amazing. The waitress was awesome and super friendly. They have a bar in the back with beer, spirits, and wine. Good place to try.

Google
Good place, location sucks. U get more than u pay for but it wasn’t very flavorful. Cinnamon rolls were amazing and huge! Only cost $6 too. They also have “adult” milkshakes which contain a lot more alcohol than I liked but u might!..

Google
First time here as we were passing through. The food was delicious. Huge servings. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with avocado on ciabatta. My husband has the chorizo omelette. I didn't get to enjoy their adult ice cream treats but it's definitely something I'll try next time.

Google
We came here for my mom’s 60th Birthday celebration and Tally and his staff were amazing! They had a back room for us and the servers handled our group of 30+ people with no problem! Food came out quick and tasted great! Highly recommend!

Google
As you can see food portion is good size and take is amazing. Couldn't wait to eat because it looks and smells good. My husband took no time on the burger and I love the reubion and they served pickles with like I love without asking. Ton of room for party or family gathering.

Google
This place is what I dream of a Diner being.....great food, great service, great atmosphere! It was an absolutely great ending to our Historic Route 66 Adventure from Oklahoma City to Tulsa. Kat had the ham steak, mashed potatoes, white gravy, and okra. I had the Smart Bomb which was loaded hash browns topped with scrambled eggs and lots of jalepenoes. Coffee is good ole diner coffee......just right! Oh yeah, ya gotta get the cinnamon roll! It is HUGEly fabulous! Shout out to Tally, the Owner and Madison, our Waitress! They are the best ever. Actually, everyone that works there is friendly, hard working, and makes you feel like you are not a stranger! You got to make this stop on your Route 66 Adventure..... we're sure glad we did!

Google
Decided to give them a try again after all the commotion with the owner stealing and chose to give him the benefit of the doubt. Stopped by at 9:54 and to my surprise the front doors are locked. Hours posted online say they close at 11pm. Who locks up a whole hour before closing? Trash establishment to allow things like this to happen. They clearly saw us standing in front and all the employees did was stare. Go downtown if you want some quality food with employees who don’t lock up an hour before closing time.

Yelp
Tally's was spectacular! Food, service and atmosphere was great. We ate breakfast and plan to come back next time we get down this way. Go there! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
My bride decided we could stop at an antique mall as we were entering Tulsa, OK. We found Tallys Mall on Route 66, which was nice, but as I've found has nothing I like, sports cards and that's it But, the prices for those are higher than eBay So, attached to the mall is the Tally cafe. A classic 1950s dinner on route 66. The diner is indeed classic with two counters for dinning and lots of red vinyl booths and chairs at tables. They have a very large menu menu, with all the classic choices, plus daily specials. I wasn't terribly hungry and ordered their chili and beans bowl. It came with cheddar cheese, onions and fresh chopped tomatoes. It was so good, I'd forgot to take a picture to post. My bride ordered the Chili Frito plate. Which was good, too. We then split a peach cobbler. Not the best, was still good. The place was full of locals, so that speaks for favorable. I agree! Thanks

Yelp
Simply outstanding food and service. We went on a Saturday mid morning and were seated immediately. The waitstaff were so helpful and personable and our drink order arrived almost instantly. On my wife's recommendation I tried my first Monte Carlo sandwich. Delicious! Overall there hasn't been a better family breakfast experience in memory, ever.

Yelp
Tally's was once a favorite spot for breakfast, but hadn't eaten there in quite a while. WHAT THE HECK HAS HAPPENED TO THAT PLACE? Finally ordered after a long wait (despite the fact that restaurant was nearly empty). Food came out after another long wait- all but our toast, which we were told would be served in just a minute. As we ate the less-than-great food, there came a burning smell from the kitchen area and a cloud of smoke could be seen from that direction. A minute later, our absentee waitress brought two small plates of a black material to our table. The plates contained what was left of our toast order, with a huge pat of butter on top. As we sat there staring at the burnt offering, all the waitress could say was that sometimes their toaster could be difficult. She then proceeded to return to her seat at the counter where she had sat as our toast burned, eating a snack, drinking a large soft drink, and talking on her phone. When we were finished eating (everything except the burnt toast) our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we had to flag down another employee to provide us with our check. (By the way, it was $30 for two bacon & egg meals, with no drinks!) Needless to say, we don't plan on a return trip to this establishment!

Yelp
Genuinely makes me sad to leave Oklahoma w how good this place is. THE FOOD THE SERVICE THE VIBES?? HELLO??? Will be booking a trip back just for the milkshake (Peep the diff outfits bc we came here multiple days lol)

Robbie T.

Yelp
The restaurant was decorated playful and fun inside. The first young girl with the long dark hair was extremely rude!! She was leading us to the back but we requested a table in the front so we can keep an eye on our company truck so apparently that made her mad and so when she brought my tea she actually SLAMMED it down in front of me where it actually spilled on me!! No apologies what so ever!! She shouldn't be in costumer service if she takes a simple request as an offense!! The other lady was nice but she made a joke about her co workers delivery of my drink and laughed it off. I will pass on EVER going there again!! I actually had to run to the bathroom and throw up after I ate some of the food, and of course the toilet handle was broke so I wasn't able to flush. I'm not sure if the gentleman that we saw there was the manager or owner but he seems very nice and a hard working man. Too bad that the rest were horrible!

Patt G.

Yelp
I ordered the grilled cheese on Texas toast, because that sounded healthy. I added the tomato to it (the pickles were a bonus) and to make sure it was super healthy, I chose cole slaw as my side. Everything was delicious. I could not have been happier with my choices. I was with two friends and one had chicken and the other had something else, but I don't remember now. They both enjoyed their meals as well. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive and the prices were good. All-in-all, it was a really great experience and a very pleasant time was had by all. I'm including a picture of my sandwich.

Garry C.

Yelp
Tally's is a "return if in the area restaurant". We usually go early for breakfast but this time enjoyed lunch there. Portion sizes were large, food was hot and as ordered. Pricing was reasonable. Waitress was on the ball keeping our party of five satisfied. If in the area, this iconic restaurant is a must visit!

Tim T.

Yelp
This place is a historic treasure, and just like stepping into a T I M E M A C H I N E or time warp going back to the 50s-60s. Very cool posters of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, 50s diners, and other emblems of that era adorn the walls. The chicken fried steak (I believe their signature dish) was excellent and I got the okra as a side. The lemon meringue pie was delish, and the substance they used to create the meringue is fascinating. Also the ice cream is not bad. Service was excellent, from a very friendly waitress that was easy to talk to. Definitely a must-visit spot when you are in Tulsa!

Owen C.

Yelp
Very cool homemade food. The restaurant is a nice old time vibe that is nice to come in to. The servers were all nice and helpful very quickly and kindly. The food I ordered was very good too and it was so much that I actually asked for a to-go box to take half of it home with me. So that's a good thing for most people. You get a great bit of food for what you pay for.

Jamie B.

Yelp
Country fried steak was very tasty. The service was excellent. A nice classic diner vibe. The wife loved the Elvis decorations

Kathy F.

Yelp
Located right on Route 66 downtown Tulsa they serve breakfast all day so you can't go wrong as you're getting your kicks on Route 66 this fits perfect the decor, music and the food. Speaking of food treat yourself to a Cinnamon Roll you will thank me later. The service was Good the coffee kept coming

Carrie F.

Yelp
We were passing through Oklahoma and thought a diner on Historic Route 66 would be the perfect place to have dinner! The location was convenient, parking good, people were amazingly friendly, and the theme was spot on. Then we went further back to our table- the smell was not horrible but is wasn't pleasant- the server stations were part of the the dining room and the beverage stations and refrigerators were open to the dining area but not really a good look for patrons. The food was hit and miss- there were 5 of us- 2 had great meals, 2 didn't eat much of theirs because they weren't great (not bad just not good enough to finish or take away), and 1 like their sides (sweet potato fries were amazing because we shared them) but not their entree. Would we go back? Maybe- but we would request to eat in the dining room that you enter the restaurant through (with the dining counter) and we'd stick with diner food like patty melts or chicken tenders.

Na T.

Yelp
service was friendly and quick, ambience is very retro diner - pretty cool feel, but food was terrible for us. we ordered: chkn fried steak, comes w.2 sides: 1/5 we got mashed and corn. everything was cold/tepid - gravy was barely warm. fried onion rings: 2/5 crispy but tasteless. everything was bland at this place - everything. theres salt/pepper at the tables but thats no reason to skip out on seasoning food from the kitchen. the overall experience was like paying $50 for tv dinner food, hested up by a microwave (not ev3n heated up properly- food was cold or room temped). id say skip this place and grab a pizza from the gas station.

Shawnda L.

Yelp
We stopped in after our flight in to Tulsa. We were all hungry and Tally's was the first place we saw. It's a cute old restaurant kinda has an "old" smell to it. Not stinky just....old. Food was okay and service was fine. Not really a lot to say. I wouldn't go back. We ordered the 2+2+2 the 3+3+3 and the Denver omelet. My BF said gravy was gross and son said bacon was chewy. My food (2+2+2) was fine. It fit our need at the time, It wasn't horrible but I would recommend it to anyone I knew. My recommendation to restaurant, have friendlier greeters. Our waitress was nice. Clean up/update a little bit, bathroom was dated, restaurant just seemed like it needed a little TLC.

Joe M.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Tally's in July and noticed the restaurant previously driving the old Route 66. We were taking our grandson to the airport and he wanted to try a chicken fried steak. We were greeted immediately upon entering and seated promptly. When looking around, you get the old time diner feel of a bygone era with a modern day mix. The waitress was helpful and friendly. We ordered the chicken fried steak, liver and onions, and Ruben sandwich. Whoever works in the kitchen has the love of making food within their heart. Everything was delectable and made to perfection. After finishing our meals, we noticed the huge cinnamon rolls and ordered one to go. It did not disappoint either. Great food and service! I'll definitely be back.

Vince I.

Yelp
The name says it all...Tally's GOOD Food Cafe, not Tally's GREAT Food Cafe. I went for breakfast and got the chicken fried steak and eggs with home fries and a biscuit and gravy on the side. The chicken fried steak was served without gravy on top and the crust immediately was falling off a tough piece of meat. The taste was ok, but I am used to getting bites of crust, meat, and gravy all in one. The home fries tasted fine, but the outside was limp and not crispy like they should be. The biscuit was one of the driest I have ever had, and the gravy was extremely peppery. The service was very good however and the atmosphere is nice. Would I come back, probably not for breakfast, but would possibly try for lunch.

Belle S.

Yelp
Driving along Route 66 and we spotted Tally's so de decided to have our brunch. We were greeted as soon as we entered and were seated right away. I ordered the Roast Beef with a side of corn and green beans and Chris ordered the Smart Bomb with an extra egg. Our server, Tiffany, was cheerful. She always had a smile on her face. She even brought us an extra plate, in case Chris and I will be sharing our food (which we always do!). The Roast Beef was very tender and flavorful and it paired well with the pillow-soft fresh dinner roll, buttery corn and perfectly cooked green beans. The Smart Bomb is the "Breakfast of the Champions"! The place has a very friendly atmosphere! One of the girls stopped by our table a couple of times to refill our drinks.

Lester R.

Yelp
Haven't had many breakfasts as good as they serve here. Great service. Great portions for an affordable price. My wife ate her cinnamon roll for three days. No joke.

Donya K.

Yelp
Had a taste for pancakes and they def delivered. Nice size, fluffy and warm syrup. Ambiance and service was to be expected of a diner. Historical route 66

Becky S.

Yelp
Food was super good and service was great. It was decorated nicely for the holidays. The cheeseburger was excellent and the Belgian waffle was humongous.

Jane W.

Yelp
If you are a "Meat & Vege" lover or enjoy "Mama's Cooking", you will LOVE Tally's! They do serve other menu items such as sandwiches & salads, (and a full breakfast menu), but they appear to specialize in hearty meals! They have all your homemade staples such as country-fried steak, beef liver with onions, & fried catfish. AND the proportions are huge so you will walk away happy and satisfied! Check out my pics below...And yes, even their homemade desserts are huge! We ordered a cinnamon roll to go and it filled the entire take out box! My first visit to their Route 66 location was upon referral a few months ago and since that time, we have shared our experience with others. The food, service, and cleanliness have been great every visit and for this reason, I give them a 5* Review! Keep up the good work Tally's! And thank you for serving your community well! Btw, they have a second location on S Sheridan Rd.

Kaylyn L.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food! Great service and just an amazing atmosphere. We drove all the way from Oklahoma City and we were not disappointed.

Jmes C.

Yelp
I love the food at Tally's and the staff are wonderful too. They really care about their customers and offer free Thanksgiving meals to anyone who can't afford one elsewhere.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Great restaurant! We had lunch there today and really loved it. The place was really hopping since it was the lunch hour, but we were seated and served quickly. Our waitress was really fantastic. She was very friendly and took good care of us. I ordered an appetizer of fried onion rings and they tasted great. For the main course I ordered their world famous chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and brown beans. It also comes with a side of gravy and a homemade roll. I enjoyed every bite of these delicious items. I was stuffed! Huge portions of everything. The restaurant is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The bathroom was very clean, and the entire restaurant was well maintained. There is also plenty of parking behind the building. Come on down to legendary Route 66 at 11th and Yale and check out Tally's Good Food Cafe.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
I'm concerned about Route 66. The declaration is that this is the best chicken fried steak on Route 66. Yikes. Apparently Route 66 is a sad, long, lonely road. Now I'm not an expert on such a thing. If this was pizza, bagels, Chinese or corned beef, I can declare myself as an expert. If the Boy Scouts had badges, I would have them. Well, if I was a Boy Scout. I digress. My rudimentary understanding of a chicken fried steak, is that the steak is thin and tender. Talky's went in another direction. Tally's is thick, tough, grisly. You have to allow yourself some extra time just for chewing. If your teeth come out, take them out, let them continue to work on the meat and when it's fully masticated, you can put them back in your mouth. This will save you time and allow you to gum the flavorless mashed potatoes or the watery vegetable. They do give you a roll. If you are on Rte 66, keep driving and keep looking. This may not be your best decision. Driving 66 instead of the freeway is also not a good decision.

Quincey H.

Yelp
Peach cobbler was the highlight of this meal, even if it was 9:30 in the morning! Yum! The omelette was good too but I did not like the biscuit & gravy.

Andrew T.

Yelp
We had a quick and basic breakfast on a Friday morning and this review will be quick and basic. The food was adequate... not at all bad but by no means anything special. The chicken fried steak sufficed but was certainly as good as it's placement on a local publication's list of best chicken fried steaks in Oklahoma. Eggs weren't great and hash browns were soggy. The home fries were flat out cold but seemed like they would have been pretty decent if served hot. The service was good and waitress was friendly, if maybe a bit hurried. All in all, glad I went once but won't be back.

Rich R.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast as the place looked pretty cool. It's a Route 66 Diner with some legit memorabilia and some rehashed knock off stuff too. So many of these places end up with the same look, including Tally's. It had the standard selections you'd expect to find in this sort of diner. The service was very fast, and the prices were about average for what you'd expect. $10-$15 a person on average I'd say. The food was just sort of ho-hum. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was pretty good but the chicken didn't do much for me, it was just ok. Kate had an omelette that she said was decent and home fries which she said we're above average. It was a decent breakfast spot but nothing out of the ordinary as far as I could see. Sure, I'd eat it again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Steve W.

Yelp
This was a trippy little diner with a great atmosphere and good food. You can see how yummy my avocado toast was. I do have to say my friend got a burger and it was the smallest little burger I had ever seen lol but she said it was good. The onion rings were very good and they brought a lot of them.

Linda D.

Yelp
Visited Tally's while exploring Route 66 in Tulsa. Nostalgic and fun. We had breakfast. The cinnamon roll is a 10 out of 10. Scrambled Eggs

Sarah W.

Yelp
Food is great and the service is even better! I love the homey feel and the kind servers. A classic Route 66 diner. My favorite is the 3x3x3, over easy eggs, extra crispy hash browns, pancakes, and bacon. SO cheap and huge quantity!!

Laura G.

Yelp
One of the worsts breakfasts I've ever had but was starving and spent a small fortune so ate it any way (except the hash-browns. They were inedible). Everything tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. Ham was burnt. Ordered scrambled eggs, got over easy. Gravy is runny and bland. Terrible overall.

Shelley R.

Yelp
the food the service and the location great My waitress was attentive and was there when I needed her I had the grilled Chicken salad and the croutons are so good they make them there and they are crunchy but not hard Very good

Travis H.

Yelp
Breakfast here was fantastic. The old school diner vibes are perfect for the style of food that they serve.

Izzie M.

Yelp
Traveling through. My husband and I shared a Ruben for a mid afternoon break from the road. Friendly staff, really good food. Prices are reasonable. The decor is very 50s soda fountain.

Tammy D.

Yelp
Located on Route 66 in Tulsa, OK. This place is a 50's era designed diner with the atmosphere to go with it. The food was good and they have a modest beer selection. Definitely worth a stop in if you're passing thru or getting your kicks on Route 66.

Madeline E.

Yelp
Tulsa biggest cinnamon roll (maybe)! This thing was huge and delicious. The taste and glaze reminded us a little of Pillsbury, which is not a negative in my book. This ooey gooey goodness was nostalgic and I can't wait to get another!

China S.

Yelp
The food, service and atmosphere are wonderful. Thank you Tally for bringing us a great dining experience! I have been loyal to you for so long I don't remember the first time. As a Tulsan, I always recommend this place--both locations. I lOVE YOU TALLY!

Ethan B.

Yelp
The inside of the restaurant was extremely cool and the service was great from the hostess to the waiter. Food was phenomenal amazing fries mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak. The bomb omelette was also extremely good too.

Kade H.

Yelp
I've never had a bad experience here as others say. The food is always good. The servers have always been friendly and attentive. Get the Smart Bomb if you're in for breakfast or brunch.

Al M.

Yelp
Decent food for a reasonable price. Large portions. The hand-dipped onion rings are fantastic! Some of the seating needs repair.

Jenny B.

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast at Tally's- great pancakes, omelet and hash browns. Service was friendly, quick and the owner is lovely. To top it off, we finished with their fantastic cinnamon roll. We had no idea how large it would be - the entire table shared. What a treat!

John T.

Yelp
If I was just rating the food and service I would give this restaurant 4 stars. The restaurant had an odor and wasn't as clean as most establishments are, keep in mind when choosing this restaurant, you are visiting a historical section so the interior meets the Route 66 vibe. If you can overlook that the restaurant is not well kept then the food and service was 4 stars but I won't be returning. Here is the food breakdown: Country fried steak was very good. Batter was thick, crispy, and tasteful. I would recommend this because it held up to its reputation as being one of the best. Burger was okay but the French fries were great. Ask for them extra crispy. Okra and green beans were okay as well.

Shawn F.

Yelp
Tally's is great spot, Especially if you have your family or your friends. It captures that 1950s feel very well. If you're traveling down Highway 66 definitely try it out.

Jarrod R.

Yelp
After an eventful day of seeing the sights in Tulsa, I popped in to Tally's for a milkshake and people watching. It was late, and the diner was replete with a wide variety of customers. Being on Route 66, I could imagine that this same type of experience had played out thousands of times before, and mine was just a mere ripple in the river of time. The chocolate shake was delicious and my server was super helpful.

Dwight G.

Yelp
We visited there today for the first time based on the reviews they had. I had their special hamburger my mother-in-law had chicken wrap, and my wife had a patty melt. The food was very good so we will be back. At the end of her meal, they gave us a cinnamon roll sample and it was phenomenal. Definitely try the cinnamon roll.

Kaitlain S.

Yelp
Went for the first time few weeks ago and I won't be back I was craving a monte cristo sandwich husband got oatmeal I literally asked for a straw when we got our drinks but they were busy so I waited 45 minutes and finally got it when our food arrived and the sandwich was nothing but fried pancake dough so unless your in a mood food for deep fried pancakes keep looking it was not worth the price but the fries were the redeeming factor they were delicious I only had a few and gave them to my husband because the sandwich was aloooot but I had never been so sick, toilet was my friend that night it didn't agree with me at all. Probably my fault because I never eat food like it so my stomach can't deal with that much deep fried food.

Stacie J.

Yelp
Cute diner (w/o the magazine style menu w/ way too many options LOL) a few minutes from the university! I ordered the 2x2x2 which is 2 eggs any style, choice of sausage or bacon, choice of pancakes or French toast, and choice of hash browns or home fries. I like that they understand there is a difference between home fries and hash browns #TeamHashbrowns!!! My family ordered the 3x3x3, same as 2x2x2 but more food! Our order came out pretty quickly and the food/plate were hot Even if you think you are really hungry, the 2x2x2 was more than enough food, we could've shared one plate. I don't know what they put in the pancakes but they were fluffy and filling after a few bites. Oh I LOVE that they put the syrup on the side and it's served warm. Definitely a recommend in Tulsa and will eat there again!
