Tamagotchi Factory

This little shop is on the 3rd floor, so don't miss the escalators to head up! I went today (February 18, 2026) at around 7pm and the store was not busy at all. There were some patrons making their custom fuzzy pouches with Tamagatchi patches and others picking up some "original" Tamagatchi (GEN 1 and GEN 3). The shelves were pretty empty. There is a new Tamagatchi that is jumbo - I have no idea what it is, but it was sold out. I went more for the nostalgia and to grab my kid her own Tamagatchi. Some stuff was crazy overpriced, so we passed on a lot of the smaller items. Overall, it was a cute little shop! I noticed some other reviews mentioning a wait. If for some reason it's very busy and you have to take a number to queue, you can walk around the other small shops until you get your number "called" (through their LINE app?). Best to get a store worker to get you set up. The Harry Potter Harajuku store is just 200m from this place, so you could also pop in there while you wait!

I enjoyed the overall vibe of this place. It was spacious and really brought back nostalgia for me. While some of the shelves were empty when I arrived, there were still tamagotchis in stock. The staff are friendly too!

The store and its procedures are a mystery to me. You basically have to be lucky to get a jade forest with a lottery and that there are even more than 20 available. I am no extreme tamagotchi fan and won’t be like the crazies here standing at dot 10:30 in front so it is impossible to get it for me. It’s always basically sold out the moment the store opens (max 1hour) and it not being possible to get otherwise is just embarrassing for a big flagship store. This series is out now for multiple month and production was never increased. Sad state of a otherwise nice franchise.

Very small selection. For the brand store this is a joke. This is where they should sell the entire line that is in production, including the special editions. Not only a few items.

休日でデジタル整理券ありの日に行きました。 13時前くらいに着いて230組待ち→1時間後に入れました。 番号の呼び出しから30分以内に入場しないと整理券無効になるようで、原宿散策に行ってしまってたので慌てて戻りました。 店内の工場の映像が可愛くてこどもが飽きずにずーっと見てました。 グッズのお値段は全体的にお高めだと思いました。

想像よりもはるかにスペースは小さい。 ガチャガチャは全て売り切れていた。品揃えもあまりない。普通でした。期待し過ぎない方が良い。
