An amazing experience of Maori culture, family and food.
The experience for us started at the gathering place in town. We had a short bus trip to the experience centre with a very nice guide who explained the experience, the history and the culture of his people.
It was a great to see a living, ancient culture, to participate and learn about their music and relationship to the land in different little workshops.
We were then treated to an amazing concert with all of the family before having a very satisfying tea in their dining area.

Definitely a highlight of my entire holiday. So amazing to feel like this incredible group are sharing their culture with us. We learned so much. The knowledge, talent and charisma of these educators is off the charts. The food was really good and we had the alcohol-free menu, which had a range of delicious mocktails instead of wines. Even our bus driver, Dennis, was entertaining, sweet, and informative. And our guide CJ explained a lot to us.

So much fun! The hands on sessions involved all ages. The welcome was amazing and the finale closing was great. Our tour included dinner and it was very good. Five stars.

This was such an amazing experience. My expections were exceeded more than I could ever imagine. Very emotional experience listening to the songs and hearing the history and stories.
The food was plentiful and delicious
I highly rate and recommend this experience. I came to New Zealand to get a grasp of the culture and this was definitely well worth it.

AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
We were worried it might be a bit of a tourist attraction presenting Māori culture in a superficial, family-friendly way — but instead it was wonderful to connect so closely with a people who have preserved their traditions for hundreds of years and continue to practise and share them within their community.
Thank you for allowing us to interact so much with the hosts, for not turning it into a simple performance, and for the dinner — generous, complete, and of excellent quality!
A truly interesting and fun afternoon. My only regret is not putting myself forward as Chief of our group when they asked on the bus…

Wonderful group of young and highly skilled performers who genuinely enjoyed sharing and teaching us some pieces of Māori culture. Unlearned a lot. The Hangi style cooked food was really good. But most of all both the visitors and the performers had fun together. Great experience.

A truly amazing, magical and fabulous experience. The whole night was beyond my expectations. So much action, performances, music, culture and history, plus some amazing food from canapes upon arrival to 3 course dinner.

It was great to learn about the Māori culture and interact/talk with the guides — they were all so attentive and kind! The entertainment was beautiful and inspiring, and the meal was amazing.
