Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa

This is a beautiful resort right on the beach of the Bali Sea. The resort has over 30 one-room separate villas on well-maintained grounds with a pool, a spa, an outdoor bar and an open-air restaurant. The villas are fairly close together, but that wasn't a problem. My husband and I stayed two nights in a "Grand Deluxe Garden Villa." It was spacious with a big lounge chair, a window seat, a mini fridge under a cabinet and a nice outdoor bathroom. The front windows and door had no screens so the room was a little dark, but there was a big window on the side and in the back. Included in the very reasonable price was a good breakfast with both Balinese and Western food. The entire staff - at the front desk, at the pool, at the spa and in the restaurant -- was wonderful, welcoming and attentive. The location was perfect for taking a boat trip to the protected waters around Menjangan Island for amazing snorkeling and diving. There are also lots of other restaurants on the main road, which is a short walk away.

Great resort! Nice beach for snorkeling. Food is so so, often served cold. Breakfast is also not amazing. Beautiful garden, nice music band at night. Rooms are becoming old now after so many years of operation and need to be refreshed.

This is a very good place to stay for a few days. We had a studio booked and this was more than enough for the two of us. They views from every place, from our room, over the open areas in the hotel and at the beach side are stunning. The beach side is facing east, so in the early morning there is a beautiful sunrise when there are no clouds on the horizon. The staff is very helpfull, kind, polite and nice. The breakfast is a wide range of many dishes and choices. Even in the evening the staff is lighting some lamps and anti mosquito smoke thingies on the rooms.

I spend two nights at one of the beautiful villas with a private pool we shared with another villa (although we hardly saw the neighbours). The hotel is really well maintained and clean. The restaurant with diner and breakfast is right on the beach and food is good. You do have to be patient for diner as they do take a lot of time.

Great spot in Pemuteran on the beach. The resort is a little dated but and the basic rooms are a little worn and further away from the resort action The villas in the front are spacious, clean and functional. Good facilities, great for families with young kids. Beach is safe and clean with snorkelling from the shore. Restaurant is good with additional options available nearby. Grounds and very well maintained and lovely to walk around. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

I love this area of Bali. It’s friendly and relaxed. Taman Sari is old style Bali resort set in the most stunning gardens. Food is great. Beach dining is fabulous. Main pool area needs work. We stayed in a lotus suite and shared a pool with 2 other rooms. This is our second time staying there and we love it! Great little shop in the resort. Staff are lovely.

We stayed in a Studio at Taman Sari for a week at the beginning of April. The room was a first floor studio with an amazing view of the volcanic mountains. Arriving at 9pm we were greeted warmly and shown to our room. My favourite aspect of our room was the outdoor shower which is just a lovely experience. ||The staff at Taman Sari are so attentive and friendly. I couldn't fault them at all. The maintenence team look after the resort so well that it is literally a slice of paradise.|| The food is good, we ate in resort most days, delicious pizzas as well as Balinese staples like Nasi Goreng.||It may be a 4 hour drive from the airport but it is worth every second to experience a quieter side of Bali. Please visit- you won't be disappointed.

Taman Sari has beautiful grounds and a great location close to the beach. Our room was very nice, with super comfortable beds, a cozy little patio, and access to a lovely pool that made relaxing easy. Unfortunately, the breakfast was the worst we’ve had in a month of travel. Even the fruit selection was minimal, the coffee lacked any aroma or taste, and the grilled mushrooms were always served at room temperature with a soggy, boiled texture. The eggs never came out right—sunny side up, over easy, it didn’t matter. They were always pale, very runny, and more poached than fried. It seems they cook them under a lid, which explains the odd consistency. We didn’t risk eating at the restaurant beyond that. Luckily, there are some great family-run warungs nearby that served truly delicious meals.
