3 new green spaces opening in 2019 - SilverKris

"A 66-acre green lung in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this site is being transformed into an urban rainforest park for the community. Opening in phases, the development will include running trails, a campsite, wetland areas and an education centre, providing both recreational and conservation-focused amenities." - Silkwinds, the inflight magazine of SilkAir

Recently, I had a mini event here and booked the Shed area with the Taman Tugu management. An ideal place to run outdoor events with some comfort as the Shed is suitable to place food and beverage from our caterer. It was equipped with projection screen, various plug points, ceiling fans, nice wooden tables and benches. The management also provided a few IBM tables with table cloths and additional chairs upon our request. On the event day, their staff are on stand by in case we have any urgent needs, and that really helps. As for the forest trail with amazing biodiversity (we explored Nursery trail), it had signboards along the way so thoughtfully and strategically positioned to give directions of the walk.

The coconut stall was not very friendly, I saw a spoon return to the stall but the stall said no spoon.. should treat customer with pleasure, mostly this in one of attraction point for tourists.. we as Malaysian should do better.. A bit lack of attitude will describe our whole nations.. please aware to owner of this coconut stall.. please do better.

Even though the facilities are a little bit old, yet it’s a wonderful trail that you can get within the city. The fact that is fully packed of people show that it’s a great place to be. It’s our beautiful city, Kuala Lumpur.

It is a short and easy trail for even kids. There is toilet at the entrance, and there are two swings to chill also. The day we went there, there was a school tour with kids from 5-12 and pregnant women.

I have hiked taman tugu trail 3 weeks in a row and absolutely loving it. There’s ladies and gents with cold shower facilities as well (most importantly are clean and well maintained- except the run out of toilet paper fast). There’s no entrance fees but you can always make a small donation by buying bottled water/isotonic drinks at RM3 each.

Amazingly well maintained and clear trail, be ready for stretches of plains, slopes and steps along the way, with the option of various trails. Kids friendly, with swings and information / direction checkpoints, benches to rest, at regular intervals. Don’t forget to warm-up before you start.

Hi! I’m Putri, the President of NuDSA UKM KL 24/25. Recently we conducted a hiking & explorace program at Taman Tugu Hike Trails. Overall experince was fun and smooth. Glad that me and my comittee picked this place for our event. We love how big the area is, and they also have several cute stalls on weekend that actually really nice to have after a long hike! Haha! Overall my participants and collaborators were really enjoyed their time there, and they really love the trails as it is not too hard, and the whole nursery area was really beautiful and clean as well! The PIC that I contacted to book the event space and also organizing and discussing about our hiking journey was really smooth, biggest shoutout to Izyan for helping me and my team to make this program come true! She was so so patient and so easy to communicate with, even though there were many changes occured even until the very last minute! Will definetely recommend our future comittee to repeat organising program here, and I highly recommend for others as well! 💗
