Tamar Cove Motel

This is a motel in every sense of the word. Do not expect a 5-star hotel, but a nice, comfy place to put down your luggage for a little while. The rooms are small but comfortable. Staff are very helpful.||The restaurant is good. There were quite a few people on the first night. The pizzas are enormous (I couldn't finish mine - I had the vegetarian one, and it was loaded with yummy vegetables - my husband got the parmi chicken, and again, service was good, and quantity was enough for very big appetites)||We stayed in room 7 for 2 nights. The room was enough to comfortably host a family of 4 and a dog. Everything was clean, and oddly enough, I really enjoyed the 'sunken' shower.||The motel is situated 5 minutes away from the main touristic sites, and the centre of Beauty Point. The main wineries are a short car trip away. This is really a super practical little motel. It would be great if the swimming pool was in working order.

We loved the fresh seafood lunch we had here. Portions are generous and taste absolutely delicious. The seafood chowder has prawns, scallops, clams and salmon. The scallops pie is nice and the calamari is chunky. There is no WiFi here. The service is friendly.

We stayed a night and had dinner. The service all round was impeccable, the food wonderful. Music selection in restaurant was perfect.|Our room was small and dark though and the bed very hard. But it is rated as a 3.5 star motel and that is appropriate. Next time I would stay in a deluxe room as they have a separate lounge area.|For anyone travelling the west Tamar this place is ideally located. Beauty Point is truly beautiful and so is the entire river. Well worth seeing and staying for awhile.

Meal was very appetising and nutritious. Outside congenial seating for our small Scalpels bike group. Location/setting very nice. Were made very welcome and received refreshments and meals quite promptly.

We had dinner at the restaurant here which was recommended to us by the folks at Beauty Point Cottages, where we were staying. We absolutely loved the food and service. Got to try the "Wizard Smith Pale Ale" here, a great beer only available in Tasmania, recommended to me by a friend who is a brewer at James Boag. Loved every dish, this was a superb experience.

We arrived late to stay at the attached motel, but the owners were very willing to cook us a late meal. The food was excellent Tasmanian produce. I would recommend this restaurant. The motel rooms are modernised but fairly basic and rather cramped. However, they are not expensive by Tasmanian accommodation standards.

We’ve been coming to Tamar Cove for years and it never fails to disappoint. Fantastic food every single time, amazing wine list and drink selection, lovely vibes and the staff are super nice and attentive. Great motel with cheap rates and generous rooms, the caretaker lives on site and is kind and helpful. The restaurant section has been closed down awaiting a new chef but this may take some time, the rooms have a kitchenette shower sink toilet amenities double bed tv cupboards etc with other bigger rooms. there is a pool that needs cleaning. The view of the river is amazing and is only 10kms from beaconsfeild with pizza delivery from a local pizzeria and a bus that stop and drops of right out front.

Our family motel room was clean and comfortable, but nothing special. Typical motel accommodations. We enjoyed the pool a lot. The meal we had was really lovely. We had the seafood platter and it was ridiculous! Piled HIGH with deliciousness, and tons of fries. The steak was also good, with a really tasty gravy. Desserts were also excellent, the caramel ice cream was a highlight.
