Pretty cool spot in Missoula. We were coming from Idaho on a road trip with a 3 year old and this spot looked great since it was close to a park. Nice menu and big place. It was easy to get seated and get service. Their beer was OK, not great, but definitely was hoping for better after a 6 hour drive. Food on the other hand was excellent. The burgers were great and cooked correctly to order. The bun they use for the burgers is really unique and they hold up well to the massive size of the burgers. I was shocked that my onion ring stayed crispy to the last bite. Nice kids menu too. Good spot to get a bite and a beer.

We loved it!! I was told about the most epic "Keg Nachos" and wow they did not disappoint. The service was amazing, great Bloody / Caesar bar and very very affordable. I highly recommend the weekend brunch sitch.

We visited December 2024. We did not eat but did enjoy the beer and the mule. We sat at the bar the staff were super friendly. Bathrooms were clean. We would love to come back sometime to eat.

We walked in on a Saturday at 12:30p and were seated outside (our choice) right away. Our server was attentive, efficient, and friendly. She was working really hard as she had the whole back porch. We ordered the Pork Carnitas Quesadilla, which was good except the pork was dry, and the Brie Chicken Sandwich. It was a very substantial sandwich. The chicken was juicy and there was a very large piece of brie. For us, it was too brie forward, but if you like brie, this would be a great order. The battered fries are on the larger size but very good. The menu is large and this place comes highly recommended with the folks that work in Missoula.

We celebrated a family birthday at Tamarack and they delivered! The host greeted us promptly and warmly and set us up with a great table for 6 of us, including 2 young children. Our server, Blake was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable on the menu and beer selections. He was very prompt with service. We arrived at Happy Hour so we ordered from that menu. The Beef Sliders and Buttermilk Chicken Sliders were a beauty to behold and tasted amazing. The fries were hot, crispy and delicious. We enjoyed a plethora of brews as well as some very creative cocktails. We rounded out the night with the Pizza Cookie served festively in a big skillet with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Melted in your mouth. We will definitely visit Tamarack again soon.

The food is pretty good. Sitting outside this time of year is so nice. They have beer of course but also a full bar.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend and are so glad we did! The fish tacos are probably the best in Missoula. Fresh, good flavors and large portions. The happy hour mac & cheese is to die for. Again probably the best in town. Super creamy and full of flavor with some nice crunchy bread crumbs on top. The beef sliders were also very good. Our server, Tom, was friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back!

Bar food but better!! I had a fabulous bison burger with a side caesar salad - yes, a salad at a bar and it was delicious. Each lunch item has a recommended beer pairing with it, super fun. And right near the river!

One of our favorite 'go to' spots after hiking when we're hungry and want something decent. For a brewery the food is above average IMO, nice selection of beer, and the service is consistently good. Enjoy your favorite sports team on one of their TVs. Tends to be crowded but you can usually find a table.

Prior to walking in, I made a joke "Their lights are so dimmed so you can't see how crappy the food is". Unfortunately it was true. I sadly had to order the chile verde burrito, due to them being "Out of Bison" which my waitress didn't tell me until after we all ordered. When I asked how they made the chile verde "whether it was slow cooked in tomatillo salsa" and was it actually a smothered burrito. She gave me the blankets stare as if she has never seen a burrito or the inside of a kitchen before! In all seriousness that was one of the worst attempts at making a burrito I've seen, let alone to advertise it as a chile verde. What kind of burrito doesn't have rice or beans inside of it? Literally only had un-seasoned steam pork inside of it and barely any "chile verde" on it. What a joke I took one bite and was done, she never asked to take it back, exchange it, or if I liked it at all. My GF ordered the French dip. It did not come with cheese nor the onions she asked twice for. The beef was as white as a ghost, definitely heated in a microwave. At this point all the food came and we had yet to receive napkins or silver ware. I ordered coffee and the waitress stated she would have to make a new batch cause they have been out. Then walked away never telling me if she was going to make it or not, then randomly brings me a cup 15 minutes later. Moral of the story Wasted $73 on re-heated food and got terrible service that we still left a tip on ($20 tip) just because I've worked two years as a waiter and four as a line cook/chef and I know you live off tips. Honestly the service and food were so bad I had to make a Yelp account to leave a review. If this helps one person choose a different restaurant or helps the management make needed changes then it was worth it. Until then go somewhere else with your hard earned money. On the contrary the location is nice.

Came in there for bison burger and I GOT bison burger. The burger was absolutely massive, tender, and juicy. All of the toppings on the burger complemented it well! The fries were terrific as well. They absolutely loaded us up on bleu cheese for the fries and it made such a difference taste-wise! The staff were extremely friendly and quick with their service. I often saw them carry several full plates or cups so they are talented at what they do! Ambiance felt like a typical bar but still family-friendly and had quiet spots. Very lovely place! One of my highlights of visiting Montana :D

Tamarack Brewing Company was yet another brewery that I got to try when passing through Missoula. I got the brewery's version of an Apricot Ale known as Sip N'Go Naked. This was a pretty good version of this Ale and it's a type I am usually very fond in getting. The flavor profile to look for when enjoying this beer are fruity, Apricot and sweet. The beer is very smooth and light bodied which as I have said before in previous reviews, something that Steve and I both enjoy experiencing and strive to get the light bodied types whenever we can. It's because it doesn't sit as heavy in the stomach and with summer right around the corner light bodied beers are highly desired by us then!

Got the flagship tray since I wanted to try every beer that they had! And the bison burger, cooked perfectly and the fries were also delicious!!! Staff were so friendly and someone next to me had the nachos! It was huge! Great causal atmosphere and beers and food were amazing!

Tamarack has the very best fish and chips. My wife and I have been treated to what was called the best fish and chips on the English Channel. Tamarack's is better. The beer is very good as well. We have never gotten poor service. Always good and friendly.

Big place with a big menu and decent beer list. My wife ended up with the scotch ale, while I had the oatmeal stout. I liked my carnitas quesadillas more than my wife liked her French dip sandwich. She thought it needed some horseradish or some other condiment to add some flavor. She called the roast beef a 'brick of meat' and left almost half her sandwich. Service was a bit slow at times but friendly enough in general.

We picked Tamarack as we were hankering for burgers and tasty beers after a long day of driving. We chose wisely on all fronts. Tamarack's beer selection is somewhat limited in that it leans heavily towards the IPAs and hoppier craft ales. But for us lovers of tasty lagers & pilsners there are good options. But it was the bison burger was the real star of the show. It was tasty and juicy: a well balanced burger topped with caramelized onions and sharp cheddar cheese, exactly as ordered. This was one of the best burgers I have enjoyed for some time. The bison despite being lean was flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The brioche bun was lightly toasted and maintained its structural integrity. In an attempt to be slightly healthy, I opted for the side Caesar instead of fries. This was an excellent choice: the dressing was light and the salad was crowned by real shaved Reggiano parmesan. I could not finish the salad despite loving it. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Tamarack was a great experience which I will repeat when next in Missoula.

Great service and terrific fish and chips. Perfect location downtown and very clean. Many recommended and I was glad they did.

This is my son's favorite place in Missoula. He has been here many times but this was my first time. We parked in a lot behind the restaurant. It was paid parking but not expensive. There were 3 of us and we decided to go to the top level and were seated right away. We loved the decor...I liked the upstairs best as it was bright with lots of windows to see the great views. We had a wonderful young man who was our waiter. He was professional yet friendly and helpful. The same time he was waiting on us he had a huge table (birthday party) about 35 people. He handled it all so well. One of us had wings that were awesome. I had a bison burger with a side salad. Wonderful..great dressing too on a fresh salad. My daughter had the Cobb salad and really enjoyed it. It was a big salad and she said it was very fresh. The table next to us got nachos. Oh my goodness....huge! I would love to try them next time...but only if someone will share it with me... and there will be a next time.

Great brewery and restaurant. Minimal menu but what they have is consistent and delicious. The weekend breakfast menu is the best around. Great place to start the weekend off and running. This place is good for all ages so bring the family and enjoy great food, beer, drinks and sports.

I love the keg nachos!! Always a big hit and worth the price! The ambience is always chill and relaxing.

The nachos need a warning label: a half order means you will never be hungry again, and a full order means not even your grandchildren will ever be hungry again. So in a way I guess it's an investment: order these nachos once, save money on groceries forever. The ambience is standard bar / sports bar. Our server was pleasant and prompt and got everything right - she's one of those rare gems who somehow remembers everything you say and just handles it all. And the food was really pretty good ... we just couldn't eat much of it because we ordered the nachos first. #rookiemistake

Stopped here for dinner after driving in from Glacier NP. The reviews helped us decide on coming and it was definitely worth it. Menu has great food choices (and bison also features well (the tacos) and the beer is good.

Always good service and food. Well be back. Fun visit with the waitress and getting to know her.

Solid brewery in downtown Missoula. I got a flight as I always do at breweries. The Amber and sip&go naked were good, as was the cherry blossom seltzer. I had a taste of some of the other beers on tap, as well. Wasn't my favorite brewery I came to while in Missoula, but was still worth the stop. I didn't try any of the food so can't comment on that but looked like they had a decent food menu. Bartender was friendly and it is a pretty big space as well!

Had the special tonight - Bison Chili cheeseburger and fries. Got to saw the fries were great, thick steak style fries. The burger tasted good, a little dry for my taste but really good smoke flavor within the chili. Had red onions on top as well. I would order this meal again for sure. Washed it down with a cider on tap - some pineapple flavor. Again good job on the flavor of the burger.

We enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner with wonderful service at Tamarack! I had the Baked Brie salad and my husband had the Bison Tacos - both amazing! We were just passing through Missoula and ate here on a recommendation by a local. We will be back!

When we first walked in the door we were a little confused as the layout gives you the impression of an empty restaurant. Service was quick, and our waitress was kind and checked in regularly. BBQ chicken pizza was quite good, as was the cheeseburger and mac and cheese. Portions are large.

Great place for lunch! It wasn't too busy when we arrived. The service was really good. Our waitress was very attentive and always made sure we had full drinks. Portion sizes are pretty big. I had the chicken and waffles while my partner had the salmon sandwich. Both were delicious.

Order the nachos. Likely a half order will be enough. I'm a 6'4" 300 pound overeater, so I poopoo'd the recommended half order. I wouldn't say it was a mistake, but that's a lot of nachos. And they're so good. My wife loved it. We added the pork carnitas extra. 10/10 recommend. Service is great. Ambiance is good.

There are bathrooms and plenty of parking next to the brewery as well as street parking. Lovely atmosphere, fun and much bigger than I expected upon first walking in. Staff was super nice and informative. They have a gluten free menu! Which is awesome. It pretty much has most sandwiches and pizza on there. Their tortilla chips are gluten free so the accompanying starters with chips are GF. I got the brew bread. It's a sandwich wrapped in GF pizza dough. So the cook the pizza dough and use it as a wrap. It was amazing!!! Very cheesy and delicious! I got the side salad as a side (French fries are battered) it was amazing flavor and great grace of meat, decent amount of mushrooms. Just amazing. Only thing is because it's pizza dough it was a bit too much bread for me. But I just opened it up and ate pieces of the bread on the side. It was delicious. I didn't try their drinks but they had an extensive menu. I did as for au jus to dip it in and that was suuuuper good. And not too expensive for GF 19.50 for the meal!

Excellent drinks and food ~ the blackened salmon sandwich and the goat cheese salad were great - good service too!

We wanted to check out downtown Missoula while traveling across the state, and there were a lot of interesting places to try but we were lucky enough to pick Tamarack Brewing. The service was excellent and so was the food!

Solid bar right by Clark fork River. Good food, plenty of TVs. The half plate of nachos were some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. I had the railroad ties and was not a fan of them. Basically chicken salad inside an egg roll with a sweet sauce. The waitress was awesome and took it off my bill without me asking for it. Would definitely come back again. The on tap root beer was awesome too

I stopped here for a beer and dinner. I read reviews before selecting this place. Specifically, I came because of the fish taco reviews. Big mistake. The tacos were big, but all fluff. There was very little fish. It was mostly breading, lettuce, and shell. I do not recommend the fish tacos. The sent was great. I will go someplace else next time. Also, how can people say these are the best tacos ever?

Service is what gets the 5 stars tonight. Zoe is excellent!!! The food was disappointing! The beans on both my chicken enchiladas and my Husband's chili verde burrito plates were cold, like straight out of the fridge cold. My enchiladas were barely warm. So, the cooks really need to step up their game!!

Loves Tamarack Brewing!! Absolutely the best fish tacos and I am a food snob..lol My husband ordered the Bison Burger and loved it as well. Great menu of specialty drinks for those who don't drink beer. 10 stars

Great beer, great food and really nice location along a stream. The service is always top notch too.

The nachos are amazing! We were 4 hungry adults and for an early dinner ordered a half nachos with buffalo meat. We only could eat probably 2/3. Reasonably priced too.

I'll start off by saying that their food has always been good in the past. Great fish and chips, love their fries, etc. But the reason for my low rating also comes with a warning: do not get the Caesar salad if you're doing DoorDash or GrubHub because your salad will be ALL RIBS. There was not one single actual leaf of Romaine in the entire salad. It was like someone cut out all the ribs of the Romaine, put them in a box, and sent it on its way. I'm guessing this was done because you can't really send it back since it's delivery, and it's really disappointing. Every other item I have had from Tamarack, from the appetizers to the main courses has been really great and I would recommend their food, but the Caesar salad I got makes me think twice before ever ordering delivery from them again.

Stopped in on Sunday specifically for their Bloody Mary bar. I was extra grateful to know that they have a dog friendly patio in the back which was very nice since I had 2 pups with me. The Bloody Mary bar experience was so much fun. Anytime you ask me to craft my own Bloody Mary, bacon will be loaded in the glass. I got a little carried away with all the fixings that I forgot to add hot sauce and horseradish. As you can see, my Bloody Mary was brunch in and of itself, however, I still had the nerve to order some chicken fried steak. Chicken fried steak was damn good and I would order it again in a heartbeat. The biscuit was a little dry for me so I asked for extra gravy to drown it. It was great after that! The potato wedges were very crispy and delicious.

Great place to watch a game-there are a ton of TVs. They have a ton of beer that they make and a few wine options. Food is pretty good - I had the bleu and Brie burger (ordered it medium and it was a bit on the dry side. My boyfriend had to chicken Brie sandwich which was great! Staff was super friendly.

The food was great! Service was even better. Fish and chips with Haddock and an amber beer with great taste. Blake was able to read us back our entire order with modifications from memory. I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area.

Worst hazy IPA in Missoula and it ain't close. Keg nachos are spectacularly ordinary, ingredients from a can dumped onto a bag of chips. Perfectly located for tourist trap but avoid if you have the option.

We stopped in here for lunch after exploring Higgins street. They had a lot of interesting menu items and if you're a cheese lover, there's a lot there for you. I went with the chicken Brie sandwich, accompanied by the Hazy IPA, and subbed my fries for the garlic blue fries. The sandwich was great. The chicken was nice and moist, definitely not over cooked and dry. I added sautéed mushrooms to the sandwich which I think took it to the next level. The garlic blue fries were good, but not as good as I hoped they would be. The table next to us ordered the nacho plate as an appetizer and it was hard not to be a little jealous. It looked incredible -- huge, but incredible. The service was attentive. Our waiter stopped by our table to check on us at just the right intervals. Overall a pleasant experience. Now we just need to return to try out the nachos.

Great food and service. Perfect spot if you're looking for a dive bar atmosphere. Staff is friendly and there's a decent sized parking lot.

My friends and I ordered food to go on a trip to Missoula. First they forgot our drink and we had to go back and then we got back to the hotel to find out all the add-ons to our food that we had paid extra for were either missing or a sad excuse for an add on. We were excited to try this place but ended up very disappointed. We were shocked by how big the half order of nachos was, but they forgot our guacamole that we paid extra for. I didn't care at all for the French dip and there were barely any mushrooms or onions added on even though we paid for the add on. Overall it left a lot to be desired.

This place is insanely good! We stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch and all of the food was incredible. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff, the drinks and the food. The wings were great, the artichoke dip was delicious and the fish and chips were the best in the county. 10 out of 10 recommend this establishment.

Bison tacos were phenomenal and huge I think I went into a food coma afterwards. My friends got the salmon sandwich, a pizza and a burger and all were amazing. The waitress was super sweet and got our food right out. Would come back here again:)

Service A+ food A+ drinks A+ nuff said. Nonetheless if you can find a parking spot your in luck. We hit it at 3:00 and got the best service, old fashion was delish as the steak$
