Tamarack Resort

This place is a hidden gem. Staff is attentive, skiing is great and lodging is central and beautifully furnished. I’ve been to other resorts that have felt pretentious, but not Tamarack. People are down-to-earth and employees are genuinely interested in your experience at the resort. We went with a large group, and everyone said it was such a memorable vacation. We will definitely be going back!

Stopped here for a few quick runs before heading back to the airport from a ski and snowboarding trip a bit more north. Weather was super dicey at first, but cleared right up and offered beautiful scenery on the mountain. Snow conditions weren’t great on the lower half when we were there, but we would love to come back! Resort looked super nice, although we didn’t have time to explore a lot. Lunch was really good and the gear shop was great.

What an amazing location for a family vacation!! Tamarack is a vacation destination for any season of the year. My most recent trip was in the winter and I am not quite sure what I prefer summer or winter. Both have so much to offer and the views are spectacular. There are activities for people of all ages. The accommodations are top notch. Food was amazing everywhere that we went. We will definitely be returning soon!!!

If you enjoy skiing, do yourself a favor and drive about an hour to Brundage. Tamarack is just for show. We purchased lift tickets and rentals over a month in advance, and still had a 40 minute fiasco of them trying to find our lift tickets in their computer system. The rental procedure was even worse, as they were out of demo skis, which we had reserved a month in advance. They were also out of poles in our size. The mountain, perhaps if there had been better natural snow it would have been a good experience. The lift that gets you halfway up the mountain had very few trails to get you down skiing. All of them were icy, some dirt. Large balls of ice in places. If you took the next chairlift to the very top of the mountain, conditions were a little better. The village was really just about the real estate, with very few shops and only two eateries. Nothing to do or see. Bottom line, Tamarack looks pretty in pictures and that’s about it. Everything there was a hassle and did not meet our expectations.

We came as a family of 5 with our young adult children and several other families making our group a total of over 40 and it was wonderful. Tamarack has a charm of winter wonderland and family friendly atmosphere for all ages. Staff was very welcoming and courteous. I will return to the same ski in ski out property.

We've been coming back to Tamarack for a few years now, and it seems to get better each time. Whether you go in the summer or winter, there are plenty of things to do there. This winter we spent our days skiing, fat-tire biking, snow shoeing or Nordic skiing, right from the Village, no need to drive hours to rent equipment or for special trails. Mother Nature was kinder to Tamarack than the rest of the west, there was decent snow to ski, but some mornings called for something different. Tamarack is a very quaint "anti-Vail" ski resort, friendly service, workers learn your name fast! It feels like you're part of their family. Restaurant and bars don't disappoint either! Go for the NY strip or Cowboy steak with wild mushrooms at The Reserve, Tam burger or Ultimate Nachos at the more casual 7 Devils, and have one of their super friendly bartenders make you something special. Going back this summer to golf on their golf course on premises and fish their perch-filled lake Cascade

Tamarack has everything you want in a destination for a ski vacation. The accommodations are new and comfortable. More importantly, the chair lift was steps from our where we were staying so we could be on the mountain in minutes! Our family cannot wait to visit in other seasons!

Truly an exceptional resort with outstanding service and amenities. The mid mountain lodge is world class, the food exceptional and ski facilities on par with the best in America. Kudos to the entire team for making family vacation amazing.

This spot was the site of a friend's wedding. We didn't stay in the resort but we're able to witness their care in her reception and the lovely way they made her event flow without a problem. We loved their catering options and the food was delicious! They had a buffet but were able to also take special orders for those of us with special dietary needs (vegan and gluten free). I was impressed by the flavors and choices and didn't leave at all hungry. Their effortless way of making the event run smoothly both in set up and tear down were also great. I think it is a beautiful spot for a wedding or other big event, as the chapel and hill where we had the reception were beautiful. I would highly recommend it!

The idea of Tamarack is great but the execution is not quite there. It is set up to resemble a Sun Valley or Schweitzer but the infrastructure does not support it. The snow and grooming isn't great, road coming in to the resort is a sheet of ice, lift line waits are some of the worst in Idaho, and dining is rough (just received our cold pizza because the beeper didn't work, despite confirming it was working because the restaurant seemed like it was run by a toddler). I've been coming to tamarack since when it originally opened the first time and it seems it just keeps getting worse and worse.

I want to love it but I can't. My wife mentioned after today's visit you always say we are never coming back here. They keep repeating their mistakes. Let's pay bands to play all day on the 4th of July weekend but close all the restaurants. We headed into the seven devils tap house but they told us it would be an hour wait. It used to be a self order service option. But now they added a full service bar but don't have enough staff to fill all the tables. The triple D diner closes at 2 pm right when the music starts going. If I was going to run music fest I would tell the breweries to get up there have a tent available and get some food trucks. No beer or food available. I do not think they have been maintaining the trials to what is expected. Jug and bear basin are so much better. Fireworks 8 minutes really. The Leighton family again put you to shame. That's a family not a multi million dollar resort just saying. Not to mention the osprey meadows $149 no way jug is only $65 and in way better shape. Again trying to find the hatred from the local crowd. I am sorry but we have a place next to tamarack and find ourselves disappointed every visit. Just go to the other outdoor options they can't seem to make a good decision.

played golf at Osprey. The layout and views were outstanding. The course needs some work. Fairways very uneven ant the greens were pretty and well kept but didn't roll true and impossible to read. checked in and paid ( expensive) and asked for a couple of gator aids. Was told they had no snacks or drinks and that i should check at the village. Really!? Also a Beverage cart would be out there. well the person called in sick and no one was available. No drinks or food all day. ps there were 24 of us. They are touting to be the next Aspen. Not even close. $150.00 round of golf and I have to beg for a bottle of water. I'll try it again if I hear they got their act together.

Horrendous customer service. I have been up at Tamarack a few times prior to this to go skiing. Always had a pretty good time, even with the poor early season conditions in January 2024. Decided to try the mountain bike park with my family. We got a late start so did not arrive to the resort until 11:45. But that should still give us a good four hours at the resort, right? Well we got a nice first run in, I really enjoyed the trail design. Much longer runs, and less dusty than Bogus Basin. After that first run we all had lunch at the bottom at the Seven Devil's Tap House. Great service there and the food was good. Although that is when things took a turn for the worst. Just as we are about to head back onto the lift at around 1:30, we are told that they are on a half hour hold due to thunder. Which is annoying, but the resort cannot control the weather so understandable. Although we were venting our frustrations a touch about only getting in one run with the guy who let us know the lift was closed up by Seven Devils. He said if we only had one run, we should be able to get a refund. At the end of the half hour, the lift was just starting to spin up, when we all heard more thunder. Another half hour of waiting, at least. Fortunately, the liftie was very understanding and happy to talk about the issues with lightning, the resort in general and other questions we had. He had mentioned, just like the other guy, that if you only have gotten one run in, and their are some extenuating circumstances, you should get a refund. Which totally clicked in my brain because I have seen similar situations at other resorts, like Whistler Blackcomb. My friend fell up there on his first run down the mountain, and ski patrol had to sled him down. They also ended up also breaking one of is skis. By default, they refunding him for his ticket, and replaced his skis, even though the whole situation was my friend's fault, not the resort's. The resort took responsibility so the customer could have the best experience possible. I wish I could say the same about Tamarack's customer service. After hearing that it should not be too big of a deal to get a refund, I went to the ticket desk to ask about it. I politely told the woman working at the front desk about our situation, and if it was possible to get a refund. Although it seemed like she did not listen to a word I said, and replied, "It is against policy to give a refund." I was perplexed, everyone else I had interacted with at Tamarack had been very gracious and understanding. Even if she said that it was normally against policy, but she could do a 50% refund, I would have left happy. I understand that the resort does not control the weather, but $70 to ride a lift once is not reasonable either. I asked her if there was anyone else I could talk to, she said the manager was not in that day, so I could talk to Tyler who would be up in the bike shop. I went up there, but Tyler was not there. Tyler came back about ten minutes after I started waiting. I reiterated my situation to him and he, at first, seemed a lot more receptive to my grievance. He told me he would go talk to the lady at the front desk to see what he could do. He offered me and my family bike park tickets for the future, but that was just the three weekends left in the season. My family was going back to Seattle, so they would not be around to take advantage of that. When I brought that up with Tyler he started to use the line, "It is against our policy." I started to get a little frustrated, but I did not raise my voice, and stayed respectful. I tried to explain how I understood his point of view, but at the same time, is it fair to the customer to have to pay for a lift ticket, and not get any usable compensation for only being able to go up on the lift once? Tyler again said, "It was against policy to refund due to weather and that he saw I bought the tickets at 11:45am. I am not sure if he was trying to imply that I was lying about how many times my family had ridden the lift. I described how my sister was a novice biker, so we took our time on the first run, and that we had gotten lunch after. Then he said, "I don't control when you have lunch." I am really not sure what that had to do with it at all. But I assume Tamarack would like people to spend money to buy food and have a relaxing time. I asked Tyler if there was anyone else I could talk to, he said we all could call his manager on the phone. We did, and I reiterated for the third time, my issue. She was about to tell me there was nothing she could do because of policy, until I said the liftie said a refund should be no problem. Immediate tone changed and I got my refund. I am not sure what the problem is with customer service training at Tamarack, but I hope this is a good lesson and that customer service is improved if I choose to go back to Tamarack.

Unfortunately we reserved a studio condo (roseberry 304) and the one we got did not come with kitchenette like all others shown in pictures. It had a coffee pot without mugs or glasses to drink coffee out of. When we called front desk and asked for mugs they told us we would have to buy from Rendevous instead. Who has a coffee pot without mugs or glasses to drink from and then tell us we had to pay for that?!? I guess they expect you to drink directly from the coffee pot? Then our neighbor kept us up all night because they have NO sound proofing between rooms. Kids screaming all night. Would NOT recommend!! And not staying here again!

If you like hair in your food, getting stuck in unexpected flat portions of a mountain, and dirty bedsheets, visit Tamarack! If you like seeing your real estate agent drunk on the village floor in the evening, join the Tam Fam! Do not go to Tamarack Resort if you care about how employees are treated where you spend your money. Employees struggle to pay rent living paycheck to paycheck with the wages and lack of housing. Management is disrespectful and apathetic - they're seeking "yes men" rather than collaborators. There is minimal terrain for beginners, and no steeps for experts in bounds. Please take your business to Brundage where they value their people more.

Mountain management 23-24 ski season has been terrible, awful, disappointing regularly. Here's just one of many examples: The season is officially over on Sunday, April 7. Weather has been warm and snow has been melting, but we got a foot of snow overnight so YAY! a few more days of skiing! April Fool's on us I guess. It's a Friday so it's First Tracks which opens half our early, 8:30am. Waited in line at the Tamarack Express, base of the mountain for almost 2 hours before the chairs started running. They were not prepared to manage snowfall at the bottom of the mountain? And then there was only one ribbon groomed on lower Serenity. They claim it was too warm (worn-out excuse). But more likely is that they returned two of the three snow cats so couldn't groom the mountain. Brilliant management! Top of the mountain probably won't be open at all today as we've heard no bombs up top. Pitiful.

Been living here for years and never Skied first time out at tam to try skiing and I was blown away !! The shops are amazing, the slopes are perfect for any age or level of skier, the lifties are friendly the staff is good. Had a ski patrol guy help me down bliss because my daughters literally took me up to the top on my 4th run thinking I could make it. Tom was super friendly and helped me down no judgement !! Def going again

Kitty was a great axe throwing guide. She was very patient, kind, and fun. Tamarack is lucky to have her as an employee. Beth A.

The grooming in Tamarack has been horrendous this year, compared to 20/21,21/22, and 22/23. The liftees are great, very courteous and professional. Mountain Ops have been bad. Bad grooming, or no grooming at all. The mile high Cantina, is not open many days, like one of the Days on Martin Luther King holiday weekend. We had to ski over rocks, for the first 45 days of the season, because, two snow makers are down. Showtime has never been groomed, and no snow making, except on the bottom.

The room and resort are nice, but the water coming out of the facets is reddish brown. Although our room has a nice, big tub, we won't be using it. First thing tomorrow, go buy bottled drinking water!

I have been taking my family to Tamarack at least 1 time a year for the last 7 years. This is a great family resort. The staff is friendly and helpful. The mountain, skiing, lake, golf and other amenities are really fun. I highly recommend Tamarack to all.

am a disabled veteran with years of ski resort work experience. The Hr department at Tamarack was shockingly disrespectful and failed to handle my hire on paperwork in a timely manner. The Hr departments disorganized approach left me feeling undervalued and frustrated as a potential employee. The HR departments poor communication and unwelcoming demeanor create a negative impression of the company making it difficult for qualified individuals to join the team. Potential employees should be aware of these challenges when considering working there. Without an experienced crew people get hurt and trails don't open. And it's hard for managers to handle their jobs when HR makes their lives more difficult.

this place is freakin magical. i have now stayed here twice in a "chalet" or cabin, not sure what they call them, and it just the best experience no matter what time of year you come. obviously on season- meaning during summer months or winter months- would be the most ideal, but I have stayed both times in the off season- fall- when the trees are all turning and the clouds roll in with a little rain and it's 50 in the day and 30 at night and it's perfect in every way. the resort itself is well maintained. there are a few restaurants within it including a pizza place, a coffee shop, a little village market, and I believe a taco shop and a brunch place- but those 2 are only open during season. lastly, the hotel on the property has its own restaurant as well. that's also a full functioning hotel, separate from the chalets. lots of options here. it's so quiet and peaceful here. we light a fire in the fireplace and have coffee out on the wrap around porch overlooking big trees and cascade lake, and go in the hot tub under the stars. this is an introverts paradise vacation. if you wanted to stay in the exact one I stayed in, it's located at "16 staircase court- donnelly idaho". overall, I could not recommend this place more. I leave happy and refreshed and relaxed. I wish i could live here all the time.

Don't bother. If you want to ski small independent resorts in Idaho, spend your ski money at Brundage or Soldier Mountain. Tamarack has many double fall lines, hidden headwalls, unexpected rollers, and at least two cat tracks that go uphill. My ski buddy said it was like skier cross on every run. And the grooming was not great - lots of missed areas, ice cookies, and sharp edges. Plus the base area is odd. The phrase "Trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" came to mind. Maybe it's supposed to look like Whistler - but Whistler works because it's a world class destination ski area. Tamarack isn't. I suppose if you are learning to ski, you might like it.

This review is for their zip lining! My friends and I had a blast up here a few weekends back. We decided early on in the summer that we wanted to give their zip-lining course a go this year. We booked our trip for the last weekend of August and it was perfect. It was a bit chilly right when we got out of the car, so I was tempted to keep my jacket with me the whole time. Our guides encouraged me not to, and I'm glad I listened to them. All that to say, expect to heat up while doing this course! The gist: We went on a weekend so we got to take their chairlift to the top of the mountain to start the course (if you go during the week, you have to take a van up). This course has 8 different zip lines and two suspension bridges. You'll zip over gran views that overlook mountain ranges, through trees, and over creeks. Every single zip line has a beautiful view (just take a look at the pictures I shared from this experience)! Our group of four was paired up with another group of three. Between all of us and our guides, it took almost three hours to do the whole course. The price point was about $113 including tax, but not including a tip (be sure to tip your guides!). Overall, for the fun and adventurous experience this was, I'd say it was absolutely worth it. We had a blast!

Zip lined today and our guides....Steve and Brian were amazing!!! They soothed our fears and made our experience an amazing one!!! Please let them know how wonderful they are!! Nancy Bond.

We booked a rental from June 8-11 online. No issues. We were looking for outdoor activities that we could access in a small area. The lodging looked nice online. The price was not inexpensive, but not overly expensive either. So we showed up and it seemed that we were there the first week they were opened for the summer season. All the workers were not sure how to do simple things. We got to our house (Misty Mountain - HCL84 ) that we were assigned. When we walked in the front door, the floor had leaves and dirt everywhere. The counters had a nice layer of dust and it looked like noone had been in the home for quite a while. Not freshened for a guest? We checked out the hot tub and it had many of leaves, grass and dirt floating around. Outdoor furniture was all dirty also. OK, not a problem. I called the front desk and asked them for someone to help sweep the house floor and a pool net so that I could skim the hot tub. The front desk said (hesitantly) that they would have maintenance come down. Maintenance never showed up. We found a broom and swept the entire place. We avoided the hot tub. 2 of the three shower heads needed to be replaced as water would only come out of half of the head. Clogged with minerals. The activities were good. Again, the boat house didn't have single person kayaks, since it was the first day. It seemed like we got that excuse a lot during our stay. Made me feel bad that we came that week. Zip line was awesome. Ax throwing was great. It just seemed like they were not ready for guests. Lots of construction trucks and construction people. Seemed like we were in their way. Most restaurants/shops and other facilities were closed. (lame) If they weren't ready, then why allow us to book online for that week? Also, if you shop at the little grocery store, get ready for the incredibly high price. Bring your own food. You'll thank me. Will we stay there again? Probably not. We will find a different place that has their act more together.

The location is beautiful as would be expected. They were struggling with staffing as many are during these challenging times. They have very significant operational issues that just can't be overlooked even with the beauty of the mountains. Prior to the stay the reservations were a huge challenge that included mix-ups; overbooking; and unauthorized charges all related to a wedding that was being held there. They charged my elderly mother's credit card $1,612 for a charge that was not related to her room and that they were not authorized to charge. The only authorization she had provided was for a hold for an upcoming reservation that she had approved for $325. She attempted to get the issue resolved; disputed it with her credit card company; & they did then credit back the 1 charge that they had created the issue with. Unfortunately with the error in the processing, she then had a charge that has remained on her card for $1,286. I attempted to assist her with this distressing situation and received extremely impersonal assistance. In attempting to work through this with the resort it has been a disaster & the last contact they committed to calling me back by the end of the day with information from their finance manager as to how they would resolve. There has been absolutely no further follow-up or contact since that point. They were very proud that they have booked weddings/events for every 3 days through the end of October as they shared, yet they are unable to assist in resolving a situation that they created by charging a credit card with no authorization to do so. I would not recommend this venue for hosting or attending an event.

We visited Tamarack for their zip-line tour and had the BEST time! 7 of us went on a 10:00am tour in Mid July with Claire and Kyra as our guides. It was a beautiful 70 degrees when we started and climbed to about 85~ when we finished. There were shady and sunny spots on our hike. HEADS UP Our group had a fun time because we read the website and prep-emails that had CRITICAL information in them BEFORE we arrived! Here's the scoop: Either wear your own hiking boots (proper ones that protect your ankles) OR swap out your shoes for the one's Tamarack provides for free. They have a huge range of sizes, even as small as 5.5 (which is what I wear). PROPER HIKING SHOES ARE ESSENTIAL because the hikes between lines can get quite steep with gnarly roots and loose dirt. If I had wore running shoes or my Tevas I would've had a bad time, no doubt. I wore close-fitting denim shorts with a 5" in-seam which was just enough to keep the harness from chafing my thighs. Length is what's important. We had a small track bag with a fanny pack and standard size Nalgene water bottle in it. I almost brought a fanny pack with my phone and wallet, but decided against it and was happier to not have to carry a bag. I absolutely recommend minimizing the amount of stuff you take, and if you must bring a camera, you're probably best off assigning one person in your group as photographer. Take advantage of the restroom at the resort BEFORE you head up the mountain!! I unfortunately had to pee halfway through our trip, and one of our guides helped me take the harness off so I could find a spot off the trail while the group walked ahead. Wasn't a huge deal, the guides said it was no problem, but I felt bad about holding up my group. Our guides were super friendly, and clearly had high expertise and confidence in the course. Any time someone was nervous about getting stuck halfway on a line they explained what a rescue would look like which made the more timid folks in our group feel safe. The scenery while we were hiking (about 2.4~ miles total, according to our smart-watches) and zipping was incredible, even with some smoke from far-away wildfires obscuring the mountains. Absolutely would do it again. REMEMBER TO TIP YOUR GUIDES!!!

My mother-in-law needed to stay here after her camper broke down on our vacation and they took such good care of her! The staff had an opening in a bigger room and upgraded her at no cost. The view from the rooms and hiking trails are gorgeous! It's still under construction, so the price is very reasonable. The staff shared how much they like working there, which I think says a lot.

We were under the impression that there was a Mile High Cantina at the top of the lift. Evidentally it is closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If we had known that, we would have taken water up with us and actually hiked. We couldn't even get water at the top. It was very disappointing. We ended up going back down and eating at the only open restaurant in the village. Our meal was very good; we were just expecting to eat at the top of the mountain.

The staff up here are working so hard. Come check out this beautiful mountain and have some fun.

WOW! - Deer Valley like groomers - Utah quality powder - Heavenly like views - High speed chairs - No lines Cannot wait for the village to open in 2021-2022. It's going to feel like Vail without the crowds and at half the cost. PS. Snowmobiling was unbelievable.

yeah, they may be a cool ski resort, but they treat their employees like dirt!! I do not recommend anyone going to work here. they will accuse innocent people of doing things wrong and run them out as fast as they can, even though they have put in years of hard work! They can't even return emails or calls!!! HORRIBLE NEW MANAGEMENT!!!

Our first experience at Tamarack and I hope this honest review will give some feed back to the right people who can make changes happen. 1st easy to get to from the Treasure Valley! We made it in 2hrs. 2nd Beautiful location and the views are amazing! Parking easy with shuttle services and great drivers! 3rd great deal for the Express Card! If you're like our family we like to experience different resorts and this fits the budget! 4th the restaurant 7 devils pub had great food and wonderful service and they were very busy! 5th chairs were quick and hardly any lines. 6th If I'm being honest in my opinion there weren't enough wide groomed runs. They had some wider runs , but mostly powder skiing from what we experienced and with a young family that skis intermediate runs it was tough finding runs we really liked. 7 we like the long runs, just wish they were wider and more groomed. We'll probably be back as we would like to give it another chance.

This is our 2nd time back in 3 months. We stayed in a slightly larger home this time. We absolutely love it and again are already planning our next visit. We brought the kids this time and they love it. Only issue was that the hot tub was very dirty. Water was musty and dis colored. Kitchen and everything else was perfect. I wish the cleaning frees were more like deposits rather than a charge. Id be up here a lot more if that was the case. Cyndi was yet again very helpful.

Had a great experience with all of the staff, particularly Madi, who helped us get on the ski lift when we had no clue how and gave us super detailed directions! The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous and a must see in summer or winter. The views are unbeatable!

Private Powder! This mountain is so special. The new lift opened and now there are so many runs that it's like you have the whole mountain to yourself! Beautiful wide runs, no lines, just incredible skiing. And the summer is just as spectacular! A lake, wakeboarding, paddle boards, kayaks, a world class mountain biking trail, hiking trails galore, a zip line and white water rafting. Favorite resort in the entire U.S.!

First time at Tamarack Resort and I was extremely impressed. This place is unbelievable. The accommodations are gorgeous. The skiing was amazing and we never stood in line more than 5 minutes. I highly recommend this resort and will definitely be going back!

Towards the end of December 2019, two guests made attempts to assault and threaten me in one of the parking lots of Tamarack Resort. After being cornered and harassed by them, police were called in to remedy the situation. Statements were taken by both parties and report was taken by the officer. Fast forward to March 1st 2019. After purchasing a beverage, Shari Disney (Food and Beverage Manager) and Dave Petty (Controller) approached me and informed me that they would no longer serve food and beverage to me, and shortly thereafter took my beverage from me. They asked to sit down with me and I agreed to talk about why. During our meeting, I had a few questions and emails on hand that I wanted to discuss but they were very unwilling to answer and review anything I had to say. There was no opportunity to review the facts before jumping to a conclusion and making judgment. It seems to me they were placing their decision off personality differences and not facts. I felt like they were discriminating against me for treating the situation the way they did. They were so unwilling to answer my questions or give me a reason for their decision. Treating a loyal guest and customer so unfairly is still unclear to me. The following day on March 2nd, I met with Brad Larsen (General Manager) to discuss everything and try to resolve issues. Tamarack had been receiving unanimous complaints about me from guests (Matt Baisley, Todd Justesen and their friends). I hand delivered emails from Sarah Knapik explaining these complaints where she mentions asking them to stop and acknowledging that they were tying to get me removed from the resort. I asked Brad how he and his management staff are determining the degree of truth from these statements against me and he was speechless. He agreed that it is all "he said, she said" with differing unsubstantiated accounts of events. There was no supporting evidence for any of these complaints against me. So, Brad could not determine whether any of these accusations were true or not. Later that day, after assisting in announcing the USASA Ski and Snowboard event which Tamarack Resort was hosting, I joined my friends up at the Mile High Cantina Yurt. My friends welcomed me with a beverage which followed directly with Shari causing a scene and yelling at me and another guest in front of everyone inside. Note: She was disguised in full ski gear on (helmet, goggles, facemask) in the corner of the Yurt by herself waiting for my arrival. Afterwards, we left and were instantly met by ski patrol at the summit chairlift. We had a very professional chat with the two ski patrolman (Christian and Danielle) responding to the call from Shari. She reported that we were tipping trash cans over and bringing all our own beer and flasks into the cantina yurt. Shortly thereafter, Brad Larsen shows up and b-lined toward me first out of 20 other people in our group. With obvious bias and dislike toward me, he asked if we were causing problems. I gave him the opportunity to search me for any beers and flasks that we supposedly brought in. He declined searching me and continued to harass my friends and me. Then, to top it off, Brad told us to consider buying Brundage Mountain passes while they are on sale and leave Tamarack Resort before he stormed off leaving us with the ski patrol. Afterwards, the ski patrol call in Eric Gehrung to assess the situation in response to apparent drunk and belligerent guests. At that time, all patrollers were still unsure why they were called after talking to me and the other guests I was with. Eric and his crew had a great attitude and helped the situation stay positive and calm while trying to resolve any potential conflict. We were set free after this conversation to enjoy the rest of our day. At the end of the 2018/2019 season, Brad Larsen canceled my 2019/2020 pass and issued a no trespassing notice to me. They doubled all of there prices from the last year, a day pass is now about $120. They also stopped the deal with bogus basin unless you have the true bogus pass or beyond pass, which is cheaper then the winter pass that doesn't give you free passes here anymore. Sad to see a local Idaho resort turn into a money sucking leach that's targeting their business at out of state costumers that continue to exacerbate our Idaho issues.

We took our 3 year old for his first ski lesson here, and I was blown away at the customer service from everyone we encountered. Scott at the rental counter, exceptional, our sons Ski Instructor Heidi, as well as our friends, went above and beyond for our little kids, and our waitress in the main lodge bar/food area. I've been to many of the West Coast ski resorts and Tamarack is fantastic! As good as any Idaho ski resorts with the benefit of ski in/out cabins surrounding the resort. Rent one and experience unmatched convenience (and prices!) and skiing/boarding. If you like limited lines, great skiing, good food and convenience, Tamarack is your place. The resort has the potential to blow up into the next Mammoth or Tahoe, so come enjoy it now!

Extremely disappointed! The customer service was beyond horrible they need to do more training or they will be under new ownership again soon due to their subpar staff. Booked a room for a wedding a couple weekends ago, when booking they said I waited too long and lucky for me the resort hotel rooms were full but they could find a condo. The price sounded reasonable and I mean it's not like there is a whole lot out there. Then they told me that there is a resort fee and a cleaning fee. I expected a resort fee but a cleaning fee when the condo is in the same building as a hotel rooms? Strange but once again it is what it is. I felt like I was being scolded for not booking a hotel room more than 2 months in advance. I had a family emergency that involved a parent needing unexpected heart surgery the Monday before the wedding. In my mind I thought it was low on my priority list but should call and try and get the room canceled and hopefully get some of the money back especially since they mentioned on the booking call that they were packed and rooms were going quick. When I got someone on the phone a man answered. I tried to explain that I attempted to give as much notice as I could but it's not like I can plan a family member needing last minute life saving surgery. The man on the phone was BEYOND rude, didn't care, told me essentially sorry but it's not his problem and they will not refund the money. Then after asking for the manager he brashly said he was the manager and he guesses he will take off the cleaning fee. Honestly when I hung up the phone and was surprised at the lack of empathy, understanding and compassion. If this is how the ownership and management team wants to handle it, I will continue to tell everyone I can about how horrible the customer service is here and it's worth staying at an Airbnb, VRBO or frankly anywhere but the hotel.

This place is almost a dream come true minus the fact that they haven't been able to complete the lodging located at the base of this lovely mountain. No lines, super friendly staff, affordable lift tickets and affordable drinks with the best bartender ever! Honestly couldn't be happier. I went with some friends who own rental property in McCall. Brundage is their usual go to but we thought we'd check out Tamarack. We too heard that the local homeowner's are keeping this place going until they get some major financial assistance and I sure hope they get lucky soon. They deserve it. If you are in this neck of the woods I highly recommend checking out Tamarack for a family friendly day of fun in the snow. We skied on a Blue Bird Day with freshly groomed snow. Literally enjoyed skiing corduroy all day. Pow would have been nice but my legs were thankful for their hard work. Honestly this place is a down to earth, homey yet hip ski resort. I Love Tamarack Resort!

Stayed here a few days this past June as part of a family reunion. Our family rented a townhome and our stay here was just wonderful. The views were great, especially at night (living near a big city, I don't get to see the stars like they are in Idaho). The townhome had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I wish we would have been able to stay longer to really make good use of the place (our particular townhome had an outdoor hot tub and even a little "game room" with a tv & video games). And there seemed to be a lot of activities to do nearby; some of the family went white water rafting. There were some minor issues with getting some of the doors to close/lock, but overall the place was beautiful & I would love to come back some time!

My friends and I enjoyed everything from pre-adjusted ski equipment to ice skating by torchlight at some of the world's most dynamic destinations. We will be back soon!

I've stayed here several times and always had excellent customer service. For this weekend especially I was in town for a friends wedding and the staff were especially accommodating for our every need. The beds are so comfortable and each room has a great view in the lodge. This morning we went for a dip in their hot tub while looking out over cascade lake and sipping on their delicious house made complementary coffee! In the winter this place is a winter wonderland and their are so superb hot springs near by; great for those noodle muscles after a long day shredding on the mountain! I am often in North Lake Tahoe for the winters and this place is definitely comparable!

We had our fall wedding at Tamarack Resort and we could not have been happier with the setting, the scenery, the service, and the accommodations. The fall colors were incredible and the views at Tamarack were absolutely stunning. Our guests enjoyed the biking and hiking trails available on site and we loved having everything and everyone in one place--including the hotel, the wedding venue, and all our guests' lodging. Having every aspect of our wedding available on site made the event much more festive and easier to coordinate. The Arling Center is a beautiful location for a wedding and our outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch thanks in part to Brad Larsen and his great staff. For an Idaho wedding you can't beat the reasonable prices, luxurious lodging options, and gorgeous location of Tamarack Resort. Tamarack has great singletrack mountain biking in the summer and awesome skiing in the winter too! If you can accept some of the quirks about Tamarack (locals know what I'm talking about) this is really a charming and beautiful place with a dedicated staff doing their best to keep things up.

I am the luckiest person....we have a place there and I LOVE IT! It's a dream away vaca.The place is a Winter Wonderland during the ski months...then, in the Spring, I love the beautiful trees and the Spring air. The season changes are tremendous. Why not take a few gorgeous runs while going out and having coffee (or hot chocolate) for the Spring ski season, as well. I feel blessed to have such a gorgeous spot to hang out and hike in the Summer months. I'm totally up for the season changes, especially coming from Vegas. If you ever want to clear your head, and do a "get away", this is the spot. Have a blast. Debra

Tamarack was the perfect place for our wedding! We were married in the Arling center lawn and had our reception in the courtyard. The scenery is breathtaking and it was easy to find beautiful spots for photos. Our guests loved the accommodations! The staff was wonderful, and we could not have been happier with our choice!

The best! Grew up near Lake Tahoe and now it's over crowded. This place is a hidden gym and I love the people here

Stayed in a Chalet for the week with my mother and son. We had an amazing time and there is plenty to do. River rafting with the resort was our highlight. Spencer was our guide and he was absoutely amazing! Definitely would go again if we had more time. He made our rafting trip memorable for us all. Thank you for taking such care of us and my son! Trip #2 Jan 2021.  The signs were not any better but we found the office faster.  The construction is still going on the same buildijg at last year. By the way when you do find the office or your room you are not allowed to keep your trailer anywhere near there.  We get checked in and the bar there have in the lobby is closed.  Instead of hiking they have security now drive you to the other part of the resort to the bars and restaurants. The security and desk staff were very nice this time. We get to the restautant and they are still waiting on there liquor license but they send us to another restaurant and let us bring our drinks back.  We enter restaurant #2 and walk up to the bar and the bar tender wont let us get drinks at the bar.  She sends us outside to wait at the window to the bar in the snow while she waits on others at the bar who are waiting for their table.  We stayed two nights and "because of Covid" we are told there is no room service.  They want you to separate your own trash like you are at home or in Seattle.  The they only give you one small regular trash can.  No trash cans in the bathroom or at the desk.  Out of respect for the maids, I have never not put all my trash in the cans when staying in a hotel but we were forced to live with trash around the room for the two days.  The price was about 50% higher this year

Had about the worst possible experience at this "resort". Drove 2.5 hours to go mountain biking. When I arrived, NOTHING was open. But they claim they are open. Construction going on everywhere, no food in sight. When I tried to find food the woman behind the counter was RUDE. I would stay away from this place.

It was spectacular. I do wish one of the zip line guides would have withheld the dirty joke. Guides need to be more respectful of those who do not care to have their minds trashed.
